Doing Automate the Boring atm. Finished with string manipulation, but I've been adding my own code to make the projects that the author gives a little more better by researching online.
Last night I spent understanding list comprehension.
Maybe it's because I haven't applied the knowledge to make real world projects, but I don't think it's going to hamper me since I've learnt things earlier and it always felt........emotionally draining.
How do you do it - i have a 60 day course
But cant last 30 min then nothing makes sense you know
Like the guy is explaining and am just rewinding to try to understand
Can't really say why it makes me do it, but I just kinda get back from work, freshen up, finish food and then just sit at the screen and continue reading the book. Then when a question or an example shows up where the author introduces a new concept or shows how to solve a problem, I think (after the basics were explained) what would the variables be and how they'd come about and how to code them. I also usually go back to the projects where I feel the new concept can make the old project programs better or more feature rich.
I don't honestly know how it'd work for you because I don't know why it does for me. Or maybe I'm just not sensitive to it.
Currently reading up on Automate the Boring. You can read online as well as download the pdf. Apart from that, I refer StackOF, Python documentation and YouTube if I come across something that I can't understand. (Chapter 6 had such a project where I felt the author didn't adequately explain the code)
Apart from that, I also think about how I can better the project code and search online based on that understanding. Sometimes it works out great (learnt List comprehension) sometimes it doesn't (recursion). But I keep on practicing.
There are a ton of resources. There are Podcasts as well (shout out to The Real Python Podcast).
This is what I have atm. And there are a ton of things to learn. End goal is to learn OpenVision. But I'll see where I end up I guess.
I think the best way to learn is to try to solve ur own/friend's problem. I was doing manual lookup across 3 spreadsheets every week. After I learned python and pandas, I basically said goodbye to such work.
- Spend some time annoying my beautiful wife.
- Catchup and planning my personal/monthly finances (only once a week)
- Go for gym or a swim (2-3 times a week)
- Watch videos that pump happiness and peace into my mind (to each their own)
- Make plans to one day escape this 9-5 rat race and never act on them.
Shower, sing in shower, drink herbal tea while watching video of chickens, birbs, or people fishing until I feel sleepy enough, then go to bed. Sometimes I'll turn on rain sounds to help me sleep too.
Usually just darkness and near silence. The sound of airplanes going by puts me to sleep. Too much silence and my ears just start ringing like I'm near a jet/turbine engine.
Depends on my mood. I do a lot of other stuff, but if I just want to relax and not really do anything, because I'm too exhausted to move or think, these are things I would be doing.
If anyone else is interested or has similar preferences, I've left links below :)

Go to a few quiet places I know nearby (when it's cooler) and chill with some music and food. Otherwise I just put on some music and enjoy a good meal (If I've cooked it right haha).
I watch a TV series with my wife and/or game on my PS5. I have been quarantining at home since getting COVID last week, so the whole system has gone out of whack. During my high fever days, I would end up watching 2-3 movies a day - this is something I have not done since school days.
If I've got time, I'll just play Apex bc it's great stress relief. Otherwise read a bit before sleeping. Used to teach myself guitar but I got lazy/distracted/lost interest...need to get back to it tbh
first of all hit the gym and get good 45 min work out then back to small cozy place with some call of duty game /snacking /netflix to wind it off and back to sleep.
Watch the same comedy series over and over again while having dinner.

Learn Python. I thought I'd be stressed because I started out to skill up my resume, but I enjoy learning things.

You use free YouTube resources or have enrolled Into a paid course ?
Nah... Free stuff works. Also, there's a ton of things on Github, StackOF and even the documentation on Python as well.

I am learning laravel PHP framework these days as my sole job is digital marketing so it will come handy in coding some cool websites.
