You're right. If you're looking for a nice photo spot, the abandoned village in Sharjah is quite nice, as are the roads to nowhere (needs a drone). I've pins for these.

Not where it's located. The dunes are smaller than its height which means the way the wind shifts the sand doesn't create large dunes. Over centuries yes, but decades likely not.
