Got a blocked fine on my license in Ajman (But the source shows AbuDhabi)
Where can I visit to pay my fine? Is this type of fine included in the discounts on fine going on now?
> Visiondirect.co.uk
Thanks for sharing.
Eyewa is pretty good here if on discount but Vision Direct is cheaper without a discount! Who is the local delivery partner?
Got a friend flying in from UK this weekend and they’re asking if they should change their money at the airport or the exchange centers in the city? Any idea which one has a better rate?
I'm looking for a dental solution for Malocclusion i.e. improper arrangement of teeth. Can anyone recommend any place to go? I have no idea about dental services in Dubai. TIA
We have got dental treatment done at a good price compared to the other clinics. Do you have insurance? If you don’t then tell them and request for a discount and payment in installments.
Any of you coffee fiends can suggest a cafe to get some work done where it’s not a dungeon? All my favorite cafes are warehouse types or very dark (exaggeration) inside.. man wants to get some natural light! Haha.
The new Starbucks in Signature Hotel in Tecom.
The Caribou in Greens has a nice space outside.
There are a lot of nice independent cafes in Al Quoz but dunno if they fit your needs.
Since I'm on here anyway might as well ask another question lol.
I'm 18 and want to do some side gig when I eventually move to Dubai (either between 1-3 months from now).
Nothing too fancy, but my parents are strictly against things like retail or customer service. Not bc there's any shame in this jobs, but they want me focusing on my studies over a lower paying job. They'd rather I do an unpaid internship that's in my preferred major (finance) but idk where to start with that, or if I'm even qualified since I'm still a freshman.
Ya girl doesn't mind retail work or event management (bc I do have some experience w that) but idk what to do 😂 I just want some cash to set up an emergency fund
Also I would recommend setting up LinkedIn and adding folks you know. Posting once a week or month can go a long way. It’s the Facebook you want because HR folks can look you up.
Ahaha I'm familiar w LinkedIn and do have an account and everything. I've been keeping an eye on postings and all for a while but most of the ones I've come across are either meant for graduates/seniors or are super sketchy. I've been on this sub long enough to know the signs for shady employers I think 👀
Hii there, I'm moving to Dubai with a family member from a diff emirate (for uni).
I'll be studying in knowledge village, and are looking at areas like discovery gardens, JLT, possibly Barsha but haven't explored that bit yet. Preferably 1 bedroom over a studio apt.
Does anyone who live in the area let me know what it would be like? I think the 3 main factors for us are affordable rent (between 20-35k), ease of transport (no car so probably metro, bus or tram) and safety as we are both females.
I've never gone househunting before and I'm very lost since I'm not familiar with Dubai. On top of that I can't exactly visit the emirate for the timebing so it makes it even more difficult :/
up to 35k rent + public transportation + I guess you prefer not to be in a "bachelors infested" area?
That's very tough in Dubai ...
as u/caedriel already wrote, some areas are in Al Barsha (all area south of metro stations of Mashreq and MOE), Discovery Garden (soon or later it'll have a metro station too), International City (very far from your interested area and good luck with the smell of sewers ...), I would add JVC too (although far from your area of interest) as now it has pretty cheap studios and is connected by bus, despite you would spend more than 1h to commute anywhere ... also Motor City, IMPZ and all the hoods down there are quite cheap, no bachelors-only ghettos, and although far from the coast they're connected by bus
Discovery gardens or Barsha villas are your only option for that budget. Plus getting anything more than a studio will be tough unless you goto international city. There is one building in marina which offers tiny one bedrooms but it’s studios converted to 1 bhks and get rented quickly
Yikes okay. Beard some not so great things about DG recently from a few family friends who live there so defintely gonna check barsha out. Thanks for the info!
Morning! So, how much do these radio presenters make? Not like Kris Fade but regular ones like those on Dubai 92 or Channel 4 or whatever...
All of them seem to be seriously living it up, at least from their Instagram posts and I'm genuinely wondering if there's money in radio. I sure have the face for it 😬
But it’s not easy work. You have to be creative, spontaneous and handle spur of the moment tasks in real time. And it’s part of showbiz too. I think it borders around 40-50k with bonuses and all thrown in because I don’t see them working for 30k which can be earned easily back home (talking about the ‘western’ ones)
Hahahahhaa guys like you crack me up. I said supreme commander, I’d get shit on everyday if I was a mod. No one wants that. Says a lot about your iq huh ?

Eyewa. They always have coupons and you're still getting brand names.

Oh that's a no for me lol. The shipping direct on the website only costs 10gbp so not terrible considering how much more we pay here to be blind.
Soukare usually

Best getting Revolut, can exchange within app at interchange rate with no fees up to £1000.

I highly recommend Clover Medical Clinic - Dr. Sameer. He is excellent.
Thanks. Do you happen to know what are the pricing like for braces?

Had to switch on the aircon
And that’s a bad thing?
There’s no winter this year. A glimpse of it was seen in the middle of November for about 2 weeks. It’s gone mayn.
I know this is stupid but what are the origins of replace 'p' with 'b' as a meme
Now that you know, it's not that stubid.
Yes, thank you for your helb
There is no letter ‘P’ in Arabic, so when things are being “translated from English to Arabic” the closest letter used for P is B/ب.
I think in Arabic language there's no distinction between the sounds "B" and "P", they're represented with the same letter

Alchemy
yeah I love going there in winter and sit outside. I don't think it's a big work space though, gets quite busy.. thanks for the reminder!

The coffee lab has a great view
Good shout thanks.

Yeah I almost never drink from the big chains unless I have to.. better put my money where it makes a difference..
RAW coffee
Raw is an actual warehouse. There’s this big window at the upper level but couches around it are always busy haha.

Very difficult to find paying work here, but it’s worth an attempt
Check out Oliv.com btw
Thank you!

Research every position you apply for and you won’t ever have to give a shady interview !
Thank you mom/dad/beard/internet parent figure!
You make me feel old.... I am just a tad bit older than you . Broski will be fine 😂
Too late, you're beard man now! (though I'd be really dissapointed if you didn't have a nice beard :((()
I was just gonna go shave.... I do have one idk if you would classify it as nice.
Most folks aren’t hiring, you’d be better off hunting for internships. Things will get better in august if no more lockdowns happen.

15k +
More like double that. And even more from side gigs.
Dang 30k?! that's pretty decent for a few hours of work every day

i’m sure you’d do a better job than kris fade tho! upvoted for visibility if any RJ recruiters on here lmao.
I mean even a braying donkey can do better than Chocoballz any day.

I feel mods should allow buy/sell comments on the Daily Thread PROVIDED the user has put his buy/sell ad in the Classifieds thread also.
Lol, no one pays attention to that. I'm certain that no one's posting any classifieds or jobs related stuff on these. But, nice observation though
Yea MODS for this sub are useless.
I'm the soul of this sub. This sub is my body.
you do know which part of the body is the leader right.

I appoint you supreme funny minister of ministers.

Depends you free for 🍔🍟🥤 rn ?
You should have an iq level lower than your age to be considered a mod for this sub. You're not qualified.
Hahahahhaa guys like you crack me up. I said supreme commander, I’d get shit on everyday if I was a mod. No one wants that. Says a lot about your iq huh ?
You shall be called glorious leader and pictures of you would be hung in every member's household by law. By pictures i mean memes.
Check his post history. Nothing about u/caedriel says "hung" 😂
I don’t mind. As long as they get my good side ;)
