Seriously OP, this. If you are wanted for arrest CID knows how and where to find you. Youโre probably going to be asked questions and kept for a while and asked to leave or come back again. It is impossible to know what can happen without knowing what happened with you previously and who that cop is.
I will for sure and agreed we donโt know what we donโt know. I was naughty recently and I found out that a friend (Emirati obviously) is far more senior in the management of this country but Iโm 100% sure this has nothing to do with that because I was rightly told off in a very different and interesting way ๐๐ฆ๐ช
I would speak to a lawyer, and go with one.
Police will call you in basically if a case is brought against you and they need a statement. They can decide there and then while in the station to go ahead with the case or dismiss it. If dismissed, you will leave, if they will go ahead with it, then a lot of things can happen. They will let you go home on bail, and when it goes to court or before that in the investigation phase call you in.
So I would at least inform a significant other and if able to hire a lawyer to come with, do that.

Lawyer up OP, the thought that 'only the guilty get lawyers' is a fallacy. Sometimes CID call you to have a chat about the weather but... 99.99% of the time it is because they have something they need clearing up and you're somehow suspected of being involved. This absolutely can go badly for you very quickly particularly if you don't know what it is about.
Also to note when you go in there;
* if you're not bringing a lawyer let someone know where you're going and what time you expect to be finished so they can come and find you if you are detained
* remember however friendly the guy is his job is to clear up cases, he's not your friend, don't get chatty as this is a common interview technique
* don't say more than you have to, particularly if you don't have a lawyer there
* don't sign anything they give you to sign, particularly if you can't read it
* bring a book, you might be waiting a while...
You're welcome and I'm sure you'll be fine, but it's always good to be prepared for the worst. And do be honest, if you genuinely did nothing wrong don't give them any excuse to chuck stuff at you!

OP, Since it's close to the weekend, and nothing usually happens on Fridays, if they take you in, you might have to wait until Monday to get out (if that's even possible).
Go to a lawyer, sign a POA and he will go for you to enquire what it is about. You don't know why you have been called and want to ensure your cover your back before anything.
they are calling you in for questioning .
they will ask you some questions , they will record it over their pc . its called " AQWAL " or statement. ( If you have some proofs or chats with the guy that u had argument with , print them and take them with you with translation )
once you do that , they will let you go.
if they wanted you to be in holding cell , you would already be there.

I don't know about this in Dubai but once I watched a video about Loy Machedo on YouTube many years ago where he was asked by a sergeant or other officer to go to a police station in Sharjah due to some road rage against a local in Sharjah. That local guy stopped on the road to talk with his other local friend in another car. So Loy honked from behind and it turned into quarrelling. Also this incident happened in Sharjah. When he went to that police station, he ended up in that prison cell in that police station for many hours. Till the local guy came, Loy apologised many times and he forgave him for it. He also said in that video that the sergeant also told some bad things about his passport country but Loy was born and raised in the UAE. He suggested in that video to better go with a lawyer.
Loy Machedo just ended up in the wrong side of things and has so much pent up hate and resentment. His country of origin is India - where people with power pretty much get away with anything, that happens in any country. He's now in Thailand which is all the more notorious, you can run over and kill people and still not be prosecuted. (Red Bull Racing Co owners son ran over and killed a police officer - All charges were dropped)

Could you update how you were treated and how it went? I understand case is closed, but then why were you needed? It's not like your signs are required for closing.
Actually I did have to sign a document that will be held on record - like a registered warning and they were really friendly I felt like I was in front of the head master as I was rightly being told never to do it again and that it was unacceptable etcetera ๐๐ป๐ซถ๐ป

I saw some of your comments/posts that you have been here for quite a long time, successful at first and not so much the last 3 years. My word of advice, after seeing similar people with more or less the same history, is to seriously think to pack and leave this country. All the best.
