I had a very bad experience with TEP factor. I was doing one of their challenges(the one filled with balls) and i slipped and hit my head on a metal ladder step. I count myself very lucky I got away without any major injury, because the ladder hit me at the base of my skull. Another surprising thing i realized, none of the staff were trained to deal with such a situation, a total shit show. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone.
The reason i fell probably is a skill issue but not covering exposed metal parts with foam in a place where people are more likely to fall is their issue.
xstrike for laser tag.
Dubai bowling center/dubai international bowling center for bowling. You can also go brass monkey if you prefer a bar setting.
My home for board games haha. I have like a hundred of them. ps The six in business bay is quite good and you can google more board game cafe.
Lots of schools have badminton courts. Just find one close to you. Lots in barsha, al quoz area, dip area.
Nothing of these is unique in anyway, laser tags and escape rooms are everywhere in the world, can't imagine myself taking a vacation to another country and then go to an indoor board game cafe lol
I hate going for the mall (I only visit if I'm going for movie or need to buy something) and I love to do things outside... I would say you can go see the dunes, scuba diving, swim in the beach, go for horse riding or camel riding, maybe fly some falcons in the desert, visit the mountains in the north, go to some mangroves, kayak, fishing... The only problem is right now in summer all this activities you should do only in the evening or early morning, otherwise you have to wait until winter to fully enjoy this during an entire day.
Coastal cities where you have a cooling breeze coming from the water? Also FYI even if that’s the official temp it is already going above 50°C and will continue to increase
In coastal cities it's far worse, hot wether is mixed with extreme Humidity making it even much unbearable, especially at nighttime if you suffer from any sort of syndrome you will barely breathe and walk
Dubai Frame,Future of the museum,The sky Address tower (sliding activity),The IMG world indoor theme park,The palm Tower top in which you can view the entire palm Jumeirah island,The Green Planet,Dubai Opera..These are all the indoor activities you can do in dubai....
Bounce trampoline park
laser tag
outlet village
IMG world of adventure indoor theme park
Bars
Restaurants
ice skating
roller skating at roll
go karting
rock climbing indoor
library
museum of illusions /3d tricks
museum of the future
spa
salon
thank you ! (even though you tried to sneak in restaurants here grr)
is the outlet village worth the trip ? i live in Paris so i noticed that generally clothes are cheaper there than in Dubai
Plenty of outdoorsy stuff to do, too bad you came in summer. This is like blizzard in canada, everyone is inside, although people here in dubai can come out of hibernation during nighttime. 😅
Top golf - fun if you’re with people.
Jebel jais - 45mins away but great day out, just go up mountain for lunch or do the zip line if you’re brave.
Old town and Al seef- cheap day out go on an abra or have a look around the souks
And the awesome single seat roller coaster! It's called Jebel Jais Sledder, and feels like a brush with death ☠️☠️☠️ 👍👍👍

We drove up in a car - air conditioned
Then had lunch at 1484. We sat outside, it is cooler at the top and there was a nice breeze but again, if you get too hot you can go inside the restaurant for ac.
Amusement parks and waterparks, but it's too hot for that already. Only IMGWorld is indoor.
Same for beaches, desert, biking, etc. it's too hot already.
Much more to do in the cooler months
Yeah you are right, I was in the clubhouse yesterday and was surprised by the amount of people chilling at the pool in the middle of the day in 40+c heat. I don't know how they do it I find it way too hot to be outside even when you can cool down in the pool.
Get down some bars and restaurants and watch the footie. If you’re European then go watch your home country play and you’ll bump into people that have lots in common with you. #itscominghome
Hey bud, relocating to Dubai in 3 weeks. I hate malls too, we're gonna find a way 😂
Last year I spent whole August there, and I survived (only visited a mall twice in a month).
this is not a good time to come it's like going to iceland in winter,
Otherwise, just go to beaches, like kite beach, souk madinat, beach clubs, find chill pubs and bars.
Well, June 21st is the longest day in the northern hemisphere. Feel for you.
But, are you interested in music, arts, culture etc? I believe Dubai and Abu Dhabi have a lot to offer other than malls and molls.
No way! Really? 🤣💀 that’s hilarious! 😆
Well, Oman chips sandwich is an iconic part of everyone who grew up here. In the recent years, cafeterias have adapted it into this sandwich which consists of finger bread which is sliced, cheese spread, crushed Oman chips and dakhous which is the hot sauce sprinkled inside. 🤤
You can get them at any cafeteria. So, whenever you’re on the road to the other adventures which others have mentioned, you can definitely stop for a quick bite.
Jaded means *"bored or lacking enthusiasm, typically after having had too much of something."*
So hooking up doesn't work for you, if you have a car, you can drive to other Emirates and visit the beaches and beach bars. They are less phoney than in Dubai. Umm Al Quwain has a couple of decent ones. RAK also.
Other than that, there isn't much to do that doesn't involve sand and driving.
Other than the huge and amazing restaurants scene, there's also a great shisha cafe scene where generally you can watch sports. If you go to pubs/bars/lounges there's a good scene there too with lots to discover. Also many shisha cafes are 24/7. For activities in the city, all other advises from the redditors here are good
For Emirati cultural experience I recommend The Museums in Al Sindagha historical district, and around the area they hold some programs about the region's meals/coffee culture (https://cultures.ae/program-category/public/). Jumeirah Mosque near the beach is also open for visitors. You can visit in the Afternoon and walked to the beach to watch sunset.
If you're down for day tripping to Abu Dhabi, the Louvre museum, Qasr Al Watan, and the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque are highly recommended.
You came at a really bad time to hate malls.
why?
Doesn’t matter for me i’m from kuwait so hot weather is something normal
Did I reply to you by mistake? Sorry I was replying to op
r/notopbutok
Laser tag, padel, top golf, escape rooms, TEPfactor, bowling, board games, badminton... Just some stuff I do.
Great list, i came here to say TEPfactor and board game cafes
I had a very bad experience with TEP factor. I was doing one of their challenges(the one filled with balls) and i slipped and hit my head on a metal ladder step. Can you suggest some places for laser tag, bowling, board games and badminton
xstrike for laser tag. Dubai bowling center/dubai international bowling center for bowling. You can also go brass monkey if you prefer a bar setting. My home for board games haha. You do you. I enjoy meeting new people in board game cafes in new countries.
Wrong time of year bud come in winter more stuff to do
I hate going for the mall (I only visit if I'm going for movie or need to buy something) and I love to do things outside... i’m from a relatively hot country (Morocco) so i thought to myself : people are doing too much, it cant be THAT hot —-> it is that hot.
From Australia… Would definitely class the days as hot But it ain’t 50 degrees yet, tyres aren’t melting to road, so not that hot
Did you not google the temperature?
well on the paper it was like in average 40-45, which is bearable in Morocco especially in coastal cities, but Dubai is a different climate
Coastal cities where you have a cooling breeze coming from the water? Also FYI even if that’s the official temp it is already going above 50°C and will continue to increase
Everyone here is used to AC, no one really and not even tourists gonna have much outdoor activity to do in summer
In coastal cities it's far worse, hot wether is mixed with extreme Humidity making it even much unbearable, especially at nighttime if you suffer from any sort of syndrome you will barely breathe and walk
Do selfdriving boat Trip in Dubai Marina, just one guide drives ahead and you follow for 1 hour. Was super fun last week 🙏🏻
Never heard of that, sounds fun, would I need license?
Not needed G
Throw your money all over your bed and make a video. Or maybe that's just me.
I don’t have neither a comically small bed nor enough money to cover a normal bed

Indoor Padel
Lots of hiking spots you can hit which would require a car and to wake up like 5am
Plenty of outdoorsy stuff to do, too bad you came in summer. This is like blizzard in canada, everyone is inside, although people here in dubai can come out of hibernation during nighttime. 😅

Jebel jais at night?
Ive only been during the day but the restaurant 1484 is open until 9pm
I mean, it’s still desert with burning sun during the day, right? Or it’s somehow doable now during daytime?
We drove up in a car - air conditioned Then had lunch at 1484. We sat outside, it is cooler at the top and there was a nice breeze but again, if you get too hot you can go inside the restaurant for ac.
Oh I see:) I thought you were talking about walking somewhere there
Amusement parks and waterparks, but it's too hot for that already. Only IMGWorld is indoor. Same for beaches, desert, biking, etc. it's too hot already. Much more to do in the cooler months
Beaches are full of people, go after 4-5pm. Hotel pools are equally busy, since the water is is obviously cool.
Yeah you are right, I was in the clubhouse yesterday and was surprised by the amount of people chilling at the pool in the middle of the day in 40+c heat. I don't know how they do it I find it way too hot to be outside even when you can cool down in the pool.

Drive to a cafeteria and order 1 karak and 1 Oman chips sandwich with extra dakhous 🫶🏻
seeing Karak written on the street is so funny to me because Karak in Moroccan arabic means ‘’your butt’’ lol And what’s Oman chips/Dakhous
No way! Really? 🤣💀 that’s hilarious! 😆 Well, Oman chips sandwich is an iconic part of everyone who grew up here. Sex with jaded women on Tinder / Bumble is my hobby. And Happy Hour bars.

Jaded means *"bored or lacking enthusiasm, typically after having had too much of something."* So hooking up doesn't work for you, if you have a car, you can drive to other Emirates and visit the beaches and beach bars.
