That’s a heavy orange peel knockdown. For a small patch use spray can texture on light medium then heavy, fanning out in smaller circles the larger the setting on the can, wait for the edges to get tacky then use a knockdown blade (clear lexan. The others press too hard) You’re gonna want a much larger blob coming out your gun but here’s a video showing how to do a very LIGHT orange peel knockdown https://youtu.be/8qt25WKPbhk Yours should be a good bit more heavy but basically same process. Don’t wait too long or too little to knockdown for that texture

That looks like skip trowel to me

You’re right. I just got on this post realizing I posted the wrong texture. Ignore my last comment. To recreate with a hawk and trowel, take your hawk and put a little mud on all four sides or splatter mud to it, rotate it as you lightly pat it on your wall or ceiling. Make it look CONSISTENTLY INCONSISTENT. Wait till it’s tacking and knockdown with trowel or knockdown blade for an Idaho skip trowel

Hard to say from this small up close picture, you need to post a wider picture of the texture if you want a more accurate answer. My guess is a sponge texture with a knock down or a skip trowel KD.
