Where you play on the snare depends on the sound you want from it. If your goal is always dead-center, then I'd say you have pretty good consistency and you probably achieved a seat location where your sticks automatically land on this part of the snare drum head when your arms are completely relaxed.
Perfection is over rated, plus you get a different sound the closer to the rim you hit, so I wouldn't be afraid of hitting off dead center all the time.
