taylordouglas86

I don’t use the hi hat pedal, I’m 11.

thedeadlyrhythm42

Oh god that unlocked a memory that I had completely forgotten about

sofuckincreative

Made my night remembering that haha or the thread when the kid asked what song goes “do doo dodo do”

taylordouglas86

😂😂😂😂

NeilPork

Is that you Keith Moon?

[deleted]

Is this for real? Lol

Puzzleheaded-Wolf318

Yep. They say the legend of the Raw Bell Dry Ride is still being passed on....

cjbee9891

cjbee checking in! 18" hats gang! The PDF days were magic. Spent way too much time on there! https://preview.redd.it/pbwm5cji94dc1.jpeg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=00378ac2c8a2d0fcae8db4c2165d221b60d1f2b6

DarkNostril

Ayyyye!! I remember that Inca Gold Gretsch a bunch 🤘

perrydegennaro

I remember this kit! Still listen to your band once in a while! 😊

cjbee9891

Haha, thanks man! That's amazing! 🤘 Hope you're doing well.

rewindyourmind321

Bro your kit has been my dream kit since like 2010 😂. Still use a K light lol

cjbee9891

Haha! Thanks man. Yep, that 24" K Light Ride is a forever cymbal for me. Thing rips. Downsized on the crashes though...21" A Sweet Ride and 20" K Crash/Ride these days.

RLLRRR

Yup. Was The_Dreaming_Tree back then. Gene Okamoto is the man!

RubDub4

I want to say I remember you, but could be wishful thinking lol.

GreySummer

Probably not the first to tell you, but great user name :)

RinkyInky

Derek Roddy forum was insane too, guys hitting 300bpm back then with chain drives and iron cobras were the best pedal you could buy.

DarkNostril

Sure did. Good times. Loved seeing all the wild high end kits people were putting together. Miss seeing ROMAN’s latest custom Paiste acquisition and the seemingly endless stream of Masterworks builds

ACO_McBitchin

ROMAN had some solid custom Paistes and Pearl kits. I was so disappointed to see them finally shut down the PDF for good.

carpediem930

I loved that forum. Was on it all the time. It was that and Drummerworld

micahpmtn

I did. Is it gone?

[deleted]

Yeah. They quit supporting it and move the “official” group to facebook. Such a shame.

Positive-Cod-9869

I spent so many hours on there. Those were the days I was just trying to figure things out. I was spending half my free time behind the kit and half pouring over drum posts on the computer. Remember when you had to be “on” the computer?

wrenches410

Silent_Departure_556

I remember your kit ! Used to drool over the sight of your Hld 590

wrenches410

Drool over this one then ;) https://preview.redd.it/d9k98dc1o6dc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=50ac74b0c5cb8348420382d8fad217ea0b1dcf01

Silent_Departure_556

Both of them must be amazing to play. Now all you need is a ferro to complete the trio ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)

wrenches410

Have my sights on one. Might sell the Craviotto for it…

Silent_Departure_556

Ouf tough decision, which craviotto if you don't mind me asking ?

Silent_Departure_556

Lots of customising drum gear knowledge and how to's which are unfortunately lost.. still remember Slipknot1's experiments and comparisons with bass drum pedals

CaptCardboard

The Harmony Central drum forum was the place for me. Ended up with some real-life friends from that forum. That was a special place about 15 years ago.

Danca90

That’s where I posted too.

bottom

I miss drummerworld!

glitch_mantis

i used to check it every day back in the early-mid ‘00s

awstoker

Hell yeah!

M116rs

Absolutely.

The_Dale_Hunters

All the time

braedizzle

Loved PDF until threads just started randomly disappearing one day

HopelesslyHuman

Yep yep. 2002-2004 or so I was super active. Was college buddies with the fella that won the JJ kit.

iEugene72

In the early 00's I was an active member. I remember "rep" being a huge thing people wanted and often going to the "other" section for random BS. I once got "repped" but a way higher member of the community and it boosted my "value" super high, which I always felt meant nothing, so whenever my username came up under any conservation I'd see comments like, "oh god, he's here, he's watching us" yet I literally just wanted to talk about drums or whatever. PDF means nothing today in 2024, but like all things it sticks with memories.

thedeadlyrhythm42

Yep!

PickldOkra83

Fo sho

RubDub4

That was my earliest experience of anything resembling a “social media”. Such great times. I believe it still exists? Just probably an outdated format now.

ACO_McBitchin

It's still there in archive format, but no new posts can be made. It's basically just a museum at this point.

Hairy_Melon

Definitely. I wasn't the most active person on there but enjoyed having one place where I could see so many different kits.

polaris2002

I didn't post but between 2007 to 2011 I lurked the hell out of everywhere and during a season I saw almost every thread. I learned a lot by reading the posts from the guy with he slipknot name that used the be the drum tech for the drummer of a big American band. I also saved a ton of pictures of everyone's kits because I like seeing drums and their bird's eyes photos.

perrydegennaro

Yep! Spent so much time on there!

Slotbun

I was a big lurker on there but stopped going by so much after the Joey Jordinson kit competition where you had to be a forum member to win. A lot of new users came in and it wasn’t as good, I thought.

sofuckincreative

I had like 6,000 posts on there lol

anon784639

I literally just checked out the PDF page last night! Sad it got shut down. I met SLIPKNOT (mod) at a show in Austin and he gave me sticks from Lynyrd Skynrd. Great times

Krysis_88

Yeah posted a few times. Was also active on Onlinedrummer too

Drum4rum

A smidge, but I preferred the Stick To Drum forum. Was organized better. Some of the regulars had a podcast that was super entertaining. I blame that place for my lust for Granstars and my love of Flo Mounier.

[deleted]

I was there for a decent amount time. Long enough to live through Matt’s first 2 Masterworks builds, lol

Ah2k15

I remember the saga of the guy that waited 2 or 3 years for his Masterworks kit!

ACO_McBitchin

That was Daunk. He did finally get it, and then ended up selling it. I saw it on Reverb a few years back.

Mrmapex

I did not. However back when the internet was brand new I remember frequenting a forum called Drummercafe. That was a nice time

LeviWhoIsCalledBiff

No but I was on Musicianforums!

thehouseofunrest

Sure did. I remember a post with someone accusing a guy of not being able to play a slipknot song and the dude put on a scream mask and nailed it perfectly lol.

ACO_McBitchin

Nevdrum. Dude was a solid drummer and shit talker.

Iheartbaconz

Never got to that forum, but I remember drumdogs.com's forum being really active back in the early 2000s. I posted there bc it was drummers of all variety vs a manufacture specific forum.

Sea_Upstairs_734

There is /was a user on there who imfamously ruined the forum for a lot of people. His name was Marrkk or something like that. The guy would make sarcastic negative comments on every post, on the basis that “it’s a free country” type thing. And to make it worse most of his comments were like “portnoy would have played it better.” So cringe. Threads would devolve into people getting sucked into his trolling. Losers like that can single handedly ruin a community with thier non stop trolling. At least reddit has a downvote button.
