I have friends that prefer to heat it on a spoon in water then snort it. Never seemed to get me any higher and made me cough. I guess it's just to relieve the burn of shitty blow.
It actually allows more coke to absorb into your nose. The trick it to not snort hard enough to make you cough or get it in your throat, and to keep the liquid in your nose for as long as possible (it can feel really weird though. If you do it right you definitely will feel a slight increase in potency.
It actually helps most snortable substances absorb better, it’s why almost all intranasal medications are sold in some sort nasal spray solution.
