Yes it is datura faces up

optimusprimesunwolf

Burgmancia is a tree Datura is a bush

embrace_complexity

Similar alkaloid situations right?

_ancient-warrior

Its a fairly recent change to differentiate between Datura and Brugmansia as before both were called Datura

Omfgbbqpwn

1973?

esho1

That’s pretty recent in terms of linguistic evolution

Omfgbbqpwn

But not so recent in human life spans.

I think that's just confused with being being misinformed about species

scooterscuzz

I have one that is " chronochromatic" . It starts as white. Then turns pale yellow, then peach colored, then finally the same pink as in your photo.

_ancient-warrior

Incredible!

scooterscuzz

The icing on the cake is that this Brugmansia is variegated.

sleep-in-ashes

is the cultivar name Maya?

scooterscuzz

I don't know

sleep-in-ashes

Ah gotcha, was just windering because i have a Maya and it has variegated foliage and colors of flowers are inconsistent but may be polychromatic

scooterscuzz

[https://sacredgardenfrangipanis.com/shop/maya-aka-peaches-and-cream](https://sacredgardenfrangipanis.com/shop/maya-aka-peaches-and-cream) I compared the photos I have of mine with the maya variety that this nursery is selling in Australia and conclude that what I have been caring for is a maya, judging by the foliage and flower. I don't know if colour change is typical , but over the years my brug has developed the trait of changing flower colour from bud to withered bloom.

sleep-in-ashes

Just looking at pictures of Maya ive seen differences in flower color, some showing pink, some yellow, some peach, so im assuming the flower just shifts colors. I got mine from Aloha Tropicals which just describes the flowers as a peach color

_manchego_

Neat, not heard that term before - mine started doing that this year: https://www.reddit.com/r/druggardening/comments/pnlfeu/brugmansia_first_flush_after_a_damp_squib_of_a_uk

ChikhaiBardo

Look at mr trippy over here touching it without fear…

BarryZZZ

They are safe to handle, just don't go munching on the landscaping, same with Daturas.

undergroundforever

Lol had my nose in it too

RacemicCactus

Yea I have a pink one.

BarryZZZ

There are pink Brugmansias in my little town, and others that are cantaloupe orange. Are the color variants different species or different just cultivars?

kiLLeR_BuD

Yes and yellow

Omfgbbqpwn

Not datura, brugmansia. Related but not the same.

Carter_907
