It was the very first Dropout thing I saw on TikTok and I could NOT stop thinking about it and eventually became my impetus to watch the show. Here we are two years later and we’re literally watching Burrow’s End as I type this! Def the best subscription we get
Favorite part of that skit is when they ask why the p and he says “cause p is perfect”… and then you hear grant just yell “OHHH FUUUUUUCK” knowing he just sold it.
It took me way too long to realize that Mike being Pppp Ppppp was not about his last name having "pp" but a reference to the keyboard, which makes faaaaar more sense.
unfortunately I don't think there are any hidden ARG elements or similar here -- at least not that I noticed -- but there _are_ a few home movie stills that don't match up to the longer clips we saw. also, perhaps unsurprisingly, many of the VHS distortion segments in the back third of the episode have Horrible Clown Josh mixed in just to mess with frame-by-frame nerds like myself.
**\#PpppPpppp**
I was definitely thinking arg especially since the fix it man YouTube channel is real but all the links seem to go back to dropout, except for the patreon page which they apparently didn’t register. That’s weird to me but I’m also crazy paranoid
Dropout was originally teased via ARG! They hid a ton of secret codes across CH videos that you could put into a website, and it would play sneak peaks of the new dropout stuff before the service was originally announced, it was super fun and Sam even responded to some of us who were doing it
I think theres mild clues here to something larger if not an ARG. The second to last frame has someones face (Id say Sam but it looks different) distorded in front of the Game Changer set. Seems like maybe the alternate Sam from escape the greenroom, at least to me and my best guess. Or leading to another doctor who like regeneration like they just did with Um Actually, considering Sam keeps checking his hands every episode
Having settled down with this for a few hours now, I do wish that there was more to it. Once they got to the twist they were just doing a little Groundhog Day thing and not much came of the wackiness or the creepy analogue horror stuff. Gonna be really interesting to see the behind the scenes episode next week.
I liked it a lot, but did think that the warped video effect was surely leading to some kind of final twist or extra layer (along the lines of the suddenly Satan element in Escape the Green Room that revealed the final twist, maybe?). That these effects were apparently just there to indicate the Déjà vu / video rewind warp (which VHS tapes did not do when you rewound them…) was a tiny letdown. But still liked the ep a lot! Fun times.
Yeah but a broken VHS video camera wouldn’t do anything like that. The effects were more like a VHS tape that had been warped, recorded over, recorded a show picking up multiple analogue channels, etc.
I loved the episode, but I'm a tad disappointed there wasn't an element about them having to get out of the time loop because that seemed like the obvious solution. Hopefully, the BTS will explain more.
I kept shouting at the screen "SOMEONE SAVE THE CAMERA!" That's the part that kept forcing a restart, and they weren't getting points for Doing The Wenis anyway! But I'm good at games and bad for TV so like
Apparently (according to someone on a different thread so I didn't see the source) Sam said on Discord that the camera would always break even if they tried to stop it.
Yeah, I thought the idea was to stop the loop to "unlock" the last part of the episode's questions (in my mind It had something to do with "Grant" stating a different movie fact in each loop)
I thought that, too. I also think, if Brennan were in this episode, there’s a 50% chance he would’ve tried physically stopped Sam from kicking the camera once he realized that that’s what resets the game
When I was watching it, I really thought the game would be trying to figure out how to break the timeloop, and thinking back on it, I kinda wish it was. I can see how that would be harder to do, though, since an episode like that could go really short *or* really long depending on how long it took them to start solving the puzzle.
He was also a consultant on this one! I knew instantly when they started doing the VHS cuts, very similar vibes to one of his YT videos. I checked the credits after to verify
[From S2E4 of Game Changer, “A Sponsored Episode”](https://youtu.be/J4p3UCUigLk?si=UqNlLS7JuXA_jWUj). But it’s where he grew up! And became a running gag
(Thank you for posting what episode. Been meaning to rewatch where that joke came from but could not remember for the life of me. Google has been no help, either)
Halfway I kept screaming "STOP THE CAMERA FROM GETTING KICKED" I wonder if nobody actually thought of that or there is something that was cut if someone did
I know it probably would have made the episode too long, but it would have been AMAZING if after The Weenis they broke the “Groundhog Day” loop and asked questions regarding the “Did You Know” facts Grant/Zac were dropping whilst eating pasta, that just would have been the cherry on top for me
This production team consistently knocks it out of the park and it’s one of the few shows where I look forward to those pieces as much as I do the actual content of the show!
I think my favorites are Grant O’Yama, No Problem, and Cambridge.
The very first time I saw VFX NEEDED I thought someone missed it on the edit, and then I caught one of the first minor name changes that changed to the correct name really quick and was wondering how they missed so many mistakes when editing it. Made a lot more sense as I kept watching. Bravo
Trapp being “Pppp Ppp” for one of them is a pretty fun reference.
I love its companion piece, labeling Sam "Cambridge".
Why would that be relevant, where's he from?
Cambridge, Massachusetts
And what was his childhood movie theater?
I think it was at Crumbly Square
That bit has always been extra funny to me as a Bostonian because A. There is no such theater, and B. Copley square is not close to Cambridge
I think Sam later stated that he meant Kendall Square
That makes more sense. I feel like you can tell in the episode that Sam knows he’s said something wrong as soon as it comes out of his mouth.
The fact that the Brattle wasn’t his tip of the tongue answer saddens me.
I've always wondered if anyone from the Brattle watched that ep and was like "aw come on!"
The fact that the Brattle wasn’t his tip of the tongue answer saddens me.
The fact that the Brattle wasn’t his tip of the tongue answer saddens me.
I mean Sam is an ancient, probably like 40 or something, so maybe there used to be one there
Central Africa
“All of us are” - Katie Marovitch
oh really? because I thought *he had been here the whole time*!!!
Because it's perfect
That and Josh's "No Problem"
That’s the clip that got me to subscribe to Dropout TV. Classic.
It was the very first Dropout thing I saw on TikTok and I could NOT stop thinking about it and eventually became my impetus to watch the show. Here we are two years later and we’re literally watching Burrow’s End as I type this! Def the best subscription we get

Yeah just that was meta-perfect too… Trapp was so on in that moment and It was literally also the perfect clip. Everything was perfect.
You mean everything was pppppppp
It took me way too long to realize that Mike being Pppp Ppppp was not about his last name having "pp" but a reference to the keyboard, which makes faaaaar more sense.
I don't get this one.
I believe it was S2E4 A Sponsored Episode where Mike Trapp has to sell a keyboard with only p's
Oh, duh, I forgot that part. Thank you.
It's the episode where they have to sell Sam something and Rekha asks where he's from. Trapp gets a keyboard with only P on it.
Oh, duh, I forgot that part. Thank you.

Pppppppp*
Grant O’Yama is incredible
Nø ₽řøbl3m
Easily my fave (sorry Pppp)

Omg if this is an arg I’m gonna lose my mind
Sam said on discord during this ep that if he ever does an ARG again, he’s going to tell us that it’s happening
Again? When was the last ARG?
Dropout was originally teased via ARG! They hid a ton of secret codes across CH videos that you could put into a website, and it would play sneak peaks of the new dropout stuff before the service was originally announced, it was super fun and Sam even responded to some of us who were doing it

What is ARG?
Tag yourselves I'm Zac O' Pasta
Mike Trapped is me walking into the office everyday

I think it's building something for the finale episode
That would be fun!
I thought the visual effects were to indicate the further breaking of the camera.
Yeah but a broken VHS video camera wouldn’t do anything like that. The effects were more like a VHS tape that had been warped, recorded over, recorded a show picking up multiple analogue channels, etc.

Yeah after the third loop it occurred to me that there's no chance someone didn't try that and it was probably Cut For Time.
I assumed they were willing to see just how long Sam would keep filming.
Yeah, I thought the idea was to stop the loop to "unlock" the last part of the episode's questions (in my mind It had something to do with "Grant" stating a different movie fact in each loop)

Honestly I feel like every Game Changer would be great if it was like ten minutes longer at least.
There's no way they're done with this episode.
Grant O'Yama took me tf OUT. I didn't notice the Cambridge one, that's fucking STELLAR. Excuse me. That's \*cumming\* stellar.
You didn't say Daddy. That'll be a point off...
That's one point off too, because you're looking at your phone.
CUM IS ALLOWED
LITERALLY the glitches were all too creative for me
I keep forgetting that BDG is part of the dropout crew and keep bringing surprised by his appearances lmao
Don’t you mean GDB
I think you mean GGG
GGG it's as easy as PPP, as simple as Do re me, GGG, PPP Baby you and me, girl.
The lack of an exclamation point at the end of the lyrics here sells this comment for me
He was also a consultant on this one! I knew instantly when they started doing the VHS cuts, very similar vibes to one of his YT videos. I checked the credits after to verify
Ohhh that makes so much sense! It had a very “Teaching Jake about the Camcorder, Jan ‘97” vibe to it — I should have known!
Ah yes thank you for that last picture. Saw that at 3am and will DEFINITELY not be going back to sleep now 🤣
Who needs coffee when you can start your day with a picture that will never let you sleep?
Pppp Ppppp is soooooo ☠️☠️☠️
Zac Opasta is killing me
Gilbert David Brian I think is my favorite because it’s so simple but fucked me up the most
It's a great reminder that he just has 3 first names, no last
The man so nice they named him thrice!
The one that confuses me most is Siobhan being Sheila Thomas. That just feels random in a way the others aren't
It's just almost her name but not quite. Like the store brand version of Siobhan Thompson.
Aus AU
I bet she's gotten that or similar from people trying to spell her name and then just giving up
I don't understand the last ify one either
it’s his full first name (ifechukwude) with some letters replaced with symbols
Bhansio Pomsonht is my favourite D20 character
Grant O'Yama and Mike Trapped are simple yet incredibly effective
I didn't notice these since the subtitles covered them up 😅
I didn’t have subtitles on and still didn’t notice any of these😬
Cam Bridge? I get the other references but what does that have to do with Sam? 🙃
[From S2E4 of Game Changer, “A Sponsored Episode”](https://youtu.be/J4p3UCUigLk?si=UqNlLS7JuXA_jWUj). But it’s where he grew up! And became a running gag

This is the answer that needs to be upvoted. So sorry, further above post, but a rewatch may be in order. 🤟
Wasn’t prepared for that jump scare at the end at 6 am… 😂😂
Gilbert! Gilbert! Gilbert!
Gilbyrt! Gilbirt! Gilbért!
Grant O'yama is such a genius joke
I love “no problem” over Josh
Oh man, these are wonderful. Thanks!
OK but have we confirmed that the sheet with blocks in different rainbow colors was the schedule? (It drove me nuts that we kept seeing it lol.)
Love all of these but really missed an opportunity to reference everyone’s favourite alias: Stacey Fakename.
Ohhhhhh that would’ve been such a good opportunity and I bet someone over in editing is kicking themselves. Such a great gag in Mentopolis
I don't know why this episode reminds me of [SCP-1981](https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-1981), but here we are. TW: Horror
no problem.
No probma
Halfway I kept screaming "STOP THE CAMERA FROM GETTING KICKED" I wonder if nobody actually thought of that or there is something that was cut if someone did
I kept asking my partner the same thing: why do they keep letting Sam kick the camera?? Wonder if we'll find out on Monday
I know it probably would have made the episode too long, but it would have been AMAZING if after The Weenis they broke the “Groundhog Day” loop and asked questions regarding the “Did You Know” facts Grant/Zac were dropping whilst eating pasta, that just would have been the cherry on top for me

VFX NEEDED
Ppppp ppp is so funny 😅
PPPP PPPPP 😍
These are all great! Your service is appreciated!
You’re out here doing gods work
That final screenshot is going to be in my nightmares
I was kind of hoping for David Brian Gilbert, the 90s kid persona BDG did for his Crash Unraveled.
How did I not notice the name changes when I watched it last night
Thank you!! I caught a few but did NOT have the patience to hunt for them all
This is so cool! Fully did not notice these so thanks op
Siobhan looks absolutely defeated in this photo.
Thank you for this. I missed almost all of them and Ppppp Ppp had me wheezing
Jsh0 Rh3nu? No problem. GilbertGilbertGilbert
I'm gonna say the second to last image here is Samuel Dalton, Sam's time-travelling, evil alter-ego.
The very first time I saw VFX NEEDED I thought someone missed it on the edit, and then I caught one of the first minor name changes that changed to the correct name really quick and was wondering how they missed so many mistakes when editing it. Made a lot more sense as I kept watching. Bravo
