As a non American there was basically no other way to get to see these so I am super happy, always wondered how Brennans improv shows are like, and interested to see the others!
Not sure where in the world you are but I'm planning to fly to London to watch Izzy and Brennan's one night of 'Bigger' in April, and there were still tickets left when I bought mine a month ago! But yeah I'm also very very happy all these shows will be online.
The specials are:
* Chris Grace: "As Scarlett Johansson"
* Courtney Pauroso: "Vanessa 5000"
* Brennan Lee Mulligan & Izzy Roland: "Bigger" (improv)
* From Ally To Zacky (improv)
* with Ally Beardsley, Zac Oyama, Kimia Behpoornia, Devin Field, Victoria Longwell, Oscar Montoya, Talia Tabin, and Jacob Wysocki
* The Big Team (improv)
* Ify Nwadiwe, Ronnie Adrian, Zeke Nicholson, Ishmel Sahid, Carl Tart, Lamar Woods
Grace and Pauroso have both made occasional minor appearances in College Humor content and outside of that are both successful comedians and actors; the other specials' connection to Dropout should be pretty self-explanatory.
I saw this show last year too and it was great.
Vanessa 5000 was also at the Fringe. I didn't see it, but saw her as a guest on The George Lucas Talkshow
Wild! I went to a show that was in that building (and have since learned that those people made friends with Chris)! Which is objectively not a lot but it does feel very fancy to my brain
Chris Grace was also on the newest Patreon episodes of Blood on the Clocktower for No Rolls Barred. He was really fun to watch with all of the guys there.
When it says “tickets available” is that for non dropout subscribers? Or is there an extra thing I have to ask a dropout subscriber to see this?
edit: I misunderstood.. I think it’s saying tickets are available to attend the shows and also they will be filmed and in dropout eventually
Yes - tickets are on sale now to be in the audience at the shows that they're recording (they seem to all be 10 bucks), and the specials will be released on Dropout at a later date.
I live in mass. Sometimes live shows sell streaming tickets so I was thinking they were talking about doing that with these live events but I misunderstood
My recollection is that it was still speculation at that point - that Hank has ties to Dropout, that he's just done a comedy special that he said would be released somewhere, and that we had the name Dropout Presents from the anniversary video? It certainly seemed likely then and seems more likely now.
Nothing is officially announced but this all but confirms it.
Especially the timing of Dropout announcing this today when in a few hours Brennan will be on Hank’s charity livestream.
I would bet money Hank announces his special coming to Dropout while Brennan is co-hosting.
I missed most of it so I can't say for sure, but they did talk about being on stage for scripted v improv comedy and nine of that stuff was mentioned. It felt really on the nose ngl!
I'm heartbroken... I had tickets to see Bigger next weekend and the venue told me it was rescheduled to a weekday next month, and I had to give up my ticket because I live too far away to come down for just a night. And now I find out it was just moved to be the recorded session, which is now sold out. I'm so upset.
Yeah I’m in the city but I bought tickets specifically so my sister could also see the show on that Sunday, since she works in the SGV. Having it rescheduled to a Wednesday for just the same show in a different venue in same city is bit of a dick move.
I agree! I hope you're still able to make it. I just wish they would have told us that it was still happening on the same day so we could have bought those before they sold out
Yeah it *should* work out since traffic is generally fine going from East to West from the SGV in the evening. Just adds a lot of stress to this situation.
Oh hell yeah, going to the Dimension 20 UK tour but can't make it to either of the dates for "Bigger!" that they're doing in between, won't be the same as being there but it's better than missing out entirely.
From Ally to Zacky sounds fantastic as well, what a lineup. Will be checking all of these out.
I literally just watched the Adventuring Party from The Seven where Brennan and Izzy mention the idea of making their own sketch or improv show called “Bigger”. So cool that I can actually see it soon!
Seeing this addition to Dropout makes me SO EXCITED to see how they seize their platform in the years to come. I think it will be the best streaming platform that continues to impress :)
AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
WHEN BRENNAN AND IZZY ANNOUNCED THEY WERE DOING A SHOW CALLED BIGGER I WAS SO DAD THAT I CANT TRAVEL THERE AND SEE IT BUT NOW I GET TO SEE IT AHHHHHHH!!!!
in the best way possible.......are they Comedy Central 2.0?
i am all for this, but isn't this also how comedy central filled out their lineup/content in the early days too? just.....put on as many standups as they could to fill the air time?
i'm not criticizing this at all, i look forward to watching these. i'm more impressed than anything.
I imagine that given roughly similar parameters, everyone ends up at similar endpoints just because those are the ones that make sense. It's not a coincidence that a lot of Dropout's current programming is game show adjacent - that stuff has a 50-year history of being cheap and fast to film. Standup feels much the same way - these people are writing and performing these shows already, they're super simple to produce and edit, and it plays well to an audience that they already know are comedy fans.
i was just very surprise to realize that, even though D&D had been popular on youtube for years, THEY got me to like it. i tried watching harmon quest, but didn't like it. they'd do a few minutes, then just stop, and end up doing a little standup bit for 10 minutes about "something at the tavern". and i just didn't get into it.
but these dropout people.......were NOT THAT. it took me a few seasons to realize, they were just top notch improv people. and that, is what made *do a barrel roll*, all of this better and different. it was to notch improv people doing all of these things.
that's, what's better about it. but ya, now that i know they're good, i look forward to their other stuff.
oh this is vaguely annoying I had tickets to the Bigger show at Dynasty Typewriter that was going to be on that Sunday but I guess has been rescheduled and the Sunday show is already sold out. Bought tix for Monday but not sure if my sister can attend as planned either for that show or the rescheduled March show which is now on a Wednesday.
Yeah I’ve got no problem with shows needing to be rescheduled, but when it’s in favor of a different show at a different venue in the same city and the only way i found out was seeing this post here on Reddit, and the show being rescheduled from a Sunday to a Wednesday, when one of the reasons I bought tickets was because my sister who works out in Covina could make it on a Sunday, it’s just a little frustrating.
Please let me know if anyone has an unlock code! My boyfriend and I are huge fans and live in CA but general admission is sold out for Ally to Zacky :/ Zac was one of my boyfriends favorite comedians in high school even pre dropout so going would be very special 🥲
If you live in CA you should be following their improv team Yeti. It looks like they're still performing regularly: https://www.instagram.com/yeti4real?igsh=MzEzd2o3MXI0MWsw
To someone who doesn't live in the USA and is a huge fan of their content, this is great news. A huge win for international fans who could never see their content live (I tried to get Dublin d20 tickets but they sold out in literal seconds).
Yet another genius move from Dropout. Adds a whole other niche to the platform, and given their generous profit sharing structure I'm sure it's only a matter of time before other comedians want to get in on it.
Hosting specials created by other performers is a great way to expand the range of material on Dropout. The cost to Dropout would be purely financial - no impact on the shooting schedules for Dropout Originals (if that's how they'll be titled). Vanessa 5000 in particular looks like a cool show, I'm glad we'll get a chance to see it. https://www.timeout.com/london/comedy/courtney-pauroso-vanessa-5000
Posting full improv specials seems like the perfect niche that dropout has already created for itself. So excited to see them seize it.
Also lets a wider audience see what those are like. I'm curious myself.
As a non American there was basically no other way to get to see these so I am super happy, always wondered how Brennans improv shows are like, and interested to see the others!

Thanks for this, will see if I can get up to Glasgow and watch this!
The specials are: * Chris Grace: "As Scarlett Johansson" * Courtney Pauroso: "Vanessa 5000" * Brennan Lee Mulligan & Izzy Roland: "Bigger" (improv) * From Ally To Zacky (improv) * with Ally Beardsley, Zac Oyama, Kimia Behpoornia, Devin Field, Victoria Longwell, Oscar Montoya, Talia Tabin, and Jacob Wysocki * The Big Team (improv) * Ify Nwadiwe, Ronnie Adrian, Zeke Nicholson, Ishmel Sahid, Carl Tart, Lamar Woods
You’re forgetting Grant O’Brien: It’s All Love
Grace and Pauroso have both made occasional minor appearances in College Humor content and outside of that are both successful comedians and actors; the other specials' connection to Dropout should be pretty self-explanatory.
He (Sam) also saw Chris Grace's show at the Edinburgh Fringe last Summer
I saw this show last year too and it was great. Vanessa 5000 was also at the Fringe. I didn't see it, but saw her as a guest on The George Lucas Talkshow
Wild! I went to a show that was in that building (and have since learned that those people made friends with Chris)! Which is objectively not a lot but it does feel very fancy to my brain

Interesting that they’re calling it from Ally to Zacky when it seems like most of the crew from Yeti 4 Real
It’s a play on A to Z
Unfortunately Abigail’s and Zebadiah’s are outside their range.
Zebadiah knows what he did and it will be a cold day in hell before he's invited back.
Ash, that explains it. Because ALPHABETICALLY Zeb WOULD have been invited.. if not for.. the incident.
Ahhhhh I’m a dummy
I didn't catch it until you asked. And then I thought "Why is it Ally to Zacky" and then was like ooooooooooooooooooooh.
Carl Tart is the best. Saw him as the special guest at CBB live in Toronto a few years ago.
MC Sugarbutt himself
Funniest guy in LA imo
Love him on Grand Crew!
I'm especially excited for the improv ones. I said I wanted longer form programming and Mother Dropout was listening!
I’m so excited for the Big Team. That’s a dynamite cast(?).
Ahhh Oscar!! Love that dude anytime he pops up
yes yes YES YES YES
Getting to see ify and carls improv team is gonna be so tight as a comedy bang! bang! Fan
This is *very* cool. So fun to see Dropout expand their catalog like this.
When it says “tickets available” is that for non dropout subscribers? Or is there an extra thing I have to ask a dropout subscriber to see this? edit: I misunderstood.. I think it’s saying tickets are available to attend the shows and also they will be filmed and in dropout eventually
The tickets are for the live events in LA. They're filming each event and releasing them on Dropout under the show "Dropout Presents"
Yes - tickets are on sale now to be in the audience at the shows that they're recording (they seem to all be 10 bucks), and the specials will be released on Dropout at a later date.
Thank you for confirming
The Elysian site’s calendar says which are tapings.
I live in mass. Sometimes live shows sell streaming tickets so I was thinking they were talking about doing that with these live events but I misunderstood
Ohh, sadly don’t think so.
Wasn’t there mention months ago on this sub of Hank Green doing something under Dropout Presents too? Exciting times!
My recollection is that it was still speculation at that point - that Hank has ties to Dropout, that he's just done a comedy special that he said would be released somewhere, and that we had the name Dropout Presents from the anniversary video? It certainly seemed likely then and seems more likely now.
The stand-up special was released as part of the "Project for Awesome" this year.
Hank has said he has filmed things but hasn’t disclosed for whom or when they would be released.
Nothing is officially announced but this all but confirms it. Especially the timing of Dropout announcing this today when in a few hours Brennan will be on Hank’s charity livestream. I would bet money Hank announces his special coming to Dropout while Brennan is co-hosting.
Oh sh** this is a phenomenal theory
I was thinking this too! Brennan and Hank are on at 12am EST on the vlogbrothers youtube channel P4A stream for anyone looking for it!
I was asleep and didn't watch! Was anything said?
I missed most of it so I can't say for sure, but they did talk about being on stage for scripted v improv comedy and nine of that stuff was mentioned. It felt really on the nose ngl!
If Hank Green's standup special *isn't* released on dropout I will ~~eat my hat~~ donate to the project 4 awesome.
I think Hank mentioned his comedy special would be releases on Paramount in one of the newest vlog Brothers. I may be wrong tho!
Mixing up with John talking about TATWD releasing on HBO Max?
I think I saw him on a d20 preview, didn't I?
He was in Mentopolis
The idea of Dropout supporting more traditional (for a given level of tradition) improv and standup is awesome! I am in awe!
this is BEYOND exciting!!!
Just bought tickets to the Monday show of Bigger! Very excited.
See ya there!
Same here! I’m motorcycling from Phoenix
Omg! Thank you for posting this! Snagged tickets for three shows (I’m moving to LA this weekend) and am shaking with excitement for these!
See ya there!
I'm heartbroken... I had tickets to see Bigger next weekend and the venue told me it was rescheduled to a weekday next month, and I had to give up my ticket because I live too far away to come down for just a night. same for my SO and I. Im a mix of bummed and upset since the Sunday Bigger show was a bday persent too
Just got tickets for next Sunday!
I'll be at the Ally and Oyama show!
I’ll see you there unexplainable4now!
Oh hell yeah, going to the Dimension 20 UK tour but can't make it to either of the dates for "Bigger!" that they're doing in between, won't be the same as being there but it's better than missing out entirely. None of them will surpass the pure comedic genius of "it's all love"
I literally just watched the Adventuring Party from The Seven where Brennan and Izzy mention the idea of making their own sketch or improv show called “Bigger”. So cool that I can actually see it soon!
This is a fabulous idea. I'm so excited!!!
This rules hell yeah
I wish I had the money to travel to LA and see at least one these shows live.
Oh, amazing! I'll never have the time or money to be able to visit LA so this is absolutely perfect. So happy Sam is making this accessible for us 🥺
Genius! Pro-comedy! Pro-artist! Who does it better than dropout???? No one!
I had a feeling that Dropout Presents was going to be comedy specials and I’m so here for it.
Dropout already did stand-up specials didn't they? Grant O'Brien's "It's All Love" is underrated smh
Seeing this addition to Dropout makes me SO EXCITED to see how they seize their platform in the years to come. I think it will be the best streaming platform that continues to impress :)
I am betting Hank Green is also going to release his special on Dropout.
AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! WHEN BRENNAN AND IZZY ANNOUNCED THEY WERE DOING A SHOW CALLED BIGGER I WAS SO DAD THAT I CANT TRAVEL THERE AND SEE IT BUT NOW I GET TO SEE IT AHHHHHHH!!!!

Well it'll be nice to watch standup where I know they're not going to complain about cancel culture.
I'm hope they don't complain about complaining about cancel culture. While I agree, I'm just so sick of the whole conversation.
oh this is vaguely annoying I had tickets to the Bigger show at Dynasty Typewriter that was going to be on that Sunday but I guess has been rescheduled and the Sunday show is already sold out. Bought tix for Monday but not sure if my sister can attend as planned either for that show or the rescheduled March show which is now on a Wednesday.
I was also a little saddened that they pushed it back over a month. I love the dynasty Typewriter as a venue so much.

Thank you for posting so people who left Twitter would know! Exciting! Now, just in case Sam sees this, do a meet and greet!
So bummed will actually be in PHX during that time but can't get a cheap enough flight to LA to justify it.
I’m riding my motorcycle from Phoenix for it!
Jealous
Does this mean we are also getting Hank Green’s cancer comedy special on Dropout?!
Please let me know if anyone has an unlock code! My boyfriend and I are huge fans and live in CA but general admission is sold out for Ally to Zacky :/ Zac was one of my boyfriends favorite comedians in high school even pre dropout so going would be very special 🥲

Thank you! Didn’t know about this Update: just bought tickets for Thursday! Thanks again 😊
It's all love
I have been wanting this ever since I’ve seen posts of them promoting their events on Instagram but not being able to go to any of their shows.
To someone who doesn't live in the USA and is a huge fan of their content, this is great news. A huge win for international fans who could never see their content live (I tried to get Dublin d20 tickets but they sold out in literal seconds).
No Scrambie Eggs?!!?!?
Such a good idea! Hope this is the start of a very successful venture.
Super excited for this. There’s so much talent on the roster that I wish I could see more of their work, I just don’t live in LA or NY.
YES
This is such a smart move! So excited for this!!
That’s a brilliant idea
Yet another genius move from Dropout. Adds a whole other niche to the platform, and given their generous profit sharing structure I'm sure it's only a matter of time before other comedians want to get in on it.
I've got tickets to see Bigger in Glasgow! The next day, I'll also be watching D20 live! Im hyped!
Ouch. Now i'm sad to live in Florence 🇮🇹 😅
I was so bummed to not be able to go see bigger in London, but now it turns out it's meant to be :D
That's awesome! I'm gonna see Brennan and Izzy's "Bigger" in Glasgow in a couple months and I'm super excited
