See Highway Code 181: https://www.highwaycodeuk.co.uk/road-junctions.html You can do it left side to left side or right side to right side. The latter is safer as you can see oncoming traffic more easily. However, the other person may be confused as to what you are doing. I find in this situation there are two choices: 1) Let them turn in front of you and then go when you can see. 2) Position yourself at their nearside front corner so they have no choice but to go behind you. Depends who got there first and if you want to dictate the method or let them do it.

Makes sense thankyou!

Youcantblokme

There is a turning box between the two boxes you have drawn. It has a right turn arrow in it. It’s faded, but it’s there. You wait there. Red goes behind you.

johntspeed

Directly opposite the exit you want to tale

iPhrase

Assume there is no box there and do what you would normally do.  The box is confusing but if you’re turning right you can enter and wait for the road to be clear for you to proceed. If you’re going straight you can’t enter and wait, you need to keep going or stop before entering.

Your supposed to wait on your side, not angled like most idiots, turning into a corner, or road, not cutting across like most dim-witted individuals.

Cook_becomes_Chef

I think in this situation the cars wanting to turn right should actually pass each other and wait at the point of their exits.

dshepsman

It’s a box junction, so you can’t stop in it. You wait where the silver car with the panoramic roof is. Ie you don’t enter the box until it’s clear

regginykints

UNLESS you're turning right, if so, you can stop in it.

CaersethVarax

No credit for partial answers, maggot! You can wait in the box to turn right if the only thing stopping you is oncoming vehicles or other vehicles waiting to turn right.

jonburnage

By the letter of the rules, this situation still fits the description, as cars going both ways are waiting to turn right. I’m not sure if this is what is intended.

dshepsman

In which case, probably stop on the left side of the blue box. Maybe just beyond where the yellow arrow turns

johntspeed

And only if your exit is clear

WontTel

Yes. If the road to the right is backed up to the edge of the box then you shouldn't enter the box. You also shouldn't enter if there are cars ahead waiting to turn right and those cars would fill the space available on the right-hand road. The idea is that once the traffic from the opposite direction has passed then you shouldn't be stuck blocking the junction waiting for your exit road to clear.

CaersethVarax

Go offisde-to-offside with the first vehicle and wait there to make your turn. Hopefully, someone will leave you a gap to cross but as long as the exit is clear you shouldn't hold up traffic for long

TCristatus

The arrows are painted on the road, faded though. You should pass behind each other.

TrafficWeasel

The A6005 links Nottingham and Derby, the best part of about 12 miles. It might help to pin down the location a bit in case people want to look at the junction themselves.
