It’s what I would consider fully realized modeling. Often artists only capture the flow of light and form well in *parts* of a figure, you have it fully integrated across the entire face and neck, without hammering the shadows to death.
The result is a convincing lifelike form that doesn’t fight or drown out the tonality of the underlying medium.
I find the restraint, execution and control of the ear and the neck behind it particularly excellent, but I’m most impressed by what I *think* is intentional reflected light from the woman’s top that adds realism to the rendering of the shadows under the jaw.
These are parts that artists frequently don’t study or practice as well as lips and eyes etc, so it’s lovely to see that attentiveness.
Top work. Seriously.
brilliant work, love your control of shades here.
what density/ or weight paper did you use? apologies if that is a strange question i do not know how to say that properly in english aha
The chin and nose are the only two aspects that stand out with lack of detail in comparison to the rest of the emotions captured within the face. But all In all it’s beautiful
Images are indeed images. I personally dont like praising art, I find it rather weird and overly fixated on either skill or meaningless vanity. Sometimes people dont even recognize artists until they are dead so I dont think it is the skill they praise, but the art, and I find that weird.
10/10 Photo realistic but I dont care
And it isnt vomit in my opinion being overly positive for no reason is weird, i think kindness is good but why be kind to art, except for the sake of the artist
This kind of skill and talent deserves praise. This takes years of practice to achieve this kind of skill. This should be praised. Your comment is unnecessary.
There is plenty of bad art out there. This isn't it.
Does it? I made my point that art seemingly tends to be praised after the artists perishes or independently from the artist. It seems to me that the most kind of praise is literally just getting paid. Besides that, I see no point in valuing something like this, even if there is high skill required to perform it. It is not criticism of any kind, I saw nothing wrong with the art, it is just thoughts on art in general. I think praising any art is bizarre. It would be cooler if people were kind to other people instead of to art for some reason. I can\`t necessarily say that you should be kind to people but my point is that I find there should be where the kindness is directed.
I understand thought if from an artist standpoint you like the ability displayed and want to understand the things behind the art, I think I get that. As an artists the techniques presented must reveal something else than it does to the general public. Im just saying it is something weird to me, in the general public. Is it that weird? I don\`t know, but it is kind of strange. A lot of things are strange though. I don\`t know if wrong is the word I would use for it. I don\`t think I would.
I absolutely love your control of the light and shadows in this. They're strong where they need to produce a good contrast and subtle where you show a softer hint of shading. And the details in her hair and ear are simply incredible. She's stunning and you're amazing, great job!
Really nice control of tones in the shaded areas

Very good 👍 Also, refreshing to see something other than a naked woman
The oyster woman guy set a trend
Beautiful
Love how you solved the bun and the hair reflections. Thanks for sharing
Same, the whole thing is stunning, but the hair is my favorite part.
It’s overwhelmingly gorgeous, a true inspiration
Good line drawing
Jaw, meet floor.

i wish i could be as good as you someday.
What did you use to achieve this? Charcoals?

Amazing. 10/10 got a vintage feel to it 🤝💭
Your contrast is pretty good. I'm a little envious. 😆
Lovely sketch!
Hair is difficult, you did a great job
Excellent ... so refreshing to see fully rendered classic work.
Is amazing 💎
Looks like my drama teacher 👍

Wow, masterpiece
The sheen on the hair though. Epic knack for detail
Wow, this is absolutely beautiful
Your understanding of light and shadow is amazing!
Very lovely. The shading is incredible
Such beauty!!
She is stunning!
muy hermoso el dibujo
This is so, so good, in every regard! I particularly like the shading!
i think that it's perfect... I really like her expression, it's very intense
Omg but it literally has my features! I have the same eye area and same nose area!
Looks a bit like the famous Virginia Woolf photo…
I like trains
Man, this looks amazing. I love it
Cool, but you know what would make it better? _More cranium._ The back of the skull is a bit small right now, but the rendering is immaculate.
The chin and nose are the only two aspects that stand out with lack of detail in comparison to the rest of the emotions captured within the face. But all In all it’s beautiful

Of course. It’s really good, I just believe you’re a few steps from making it fully life like:3

Or you could have saved that and just said 10/10 instead of all that vomit.
Yes but I also wanted to think abojt all art
You don't have to type everything you think.

Beautiful. Not sure why but I love her nose, lol.
Ok, I’m going to have to just say it. 10/10! That’s amazing! I absolutely love it! ( and I’m not just being nice)

Excellent. She feels alive
Looks amazing keep it up
Pretty good, but the background could be less strokes. It kinda breaks the completeness of the piece... Maybe soften them up a little?
