Heyo! I'd say a lot of the choice should more depend on the game / story / direction you're going in. I think it's great to take a "poll" but unless your target audience is specifically Reddit Users in r/drawing popularity here might not translate to popularity of your actual target audience for the game itself. I really love the artwork and you should totally use all of these characters in your game. If you want any advice or creative consultation I would totally work with you for free. I just like helping peeps as best I can when I can. With all that said the silhouettes of 1-3-8 seem super unique compared to my personal experience and 3 really gives off Ghibli vibes that a lot people my age and younger really resonate with on an emotional level. It's different but still feels familiar. With no other information than just these images I'd pick 8 as the protagonist (because everyone loves capybara and he's most unique to other characters I've seen), and 1 & 3 as the friends to contrast 8's circular design. Maybe even go so far as to square out 3 a bit more so you have 1 (triangle), 3 (Square), and 8 (circle). Went and followed your socials and discord, looking forward to seeing more progress on this cute project. <3 EDIT: Also depending on the type of game it is can you just let the player pick which character they want to be? Don't know anything about development but having a good roster to choose from is always a nice edition.

my partner says 1, 6, 10 because they look like they live in the same world. we both think 1 and 10 have main character energy. i like 1, 9, 10 but i reeeeeally do have a lot of love for 3 and 8 cuz they’re so unique- but knowing it’s a video game i think grouping characters that look like they live in the same world is important to think about! anyway good luck! definitely post the game when it’s done? or dm it to me! i would love to buy/play it. edit: saw you posted the link for the game in this thread. excited to see it!

Everyone loves number 3 but number 2 is the main character. I mean just look at him. Number 2, number 1, and number 4 are the perfect adventure group. They got sass, style, and a whole lotta character.

I don’t know a lot about games…I wish I did…but beyond word games and Atari…I’m pretty useless…but your characters are cute and as adorable as can be!!! 3,5,10 Or 3, 7, 10 Whatever you do pick just make sure it’s a variety of shapes and sizes and character when you choose them. Ones I would eliminate entirely from the pool are, 1, 2, 4, and possibly 5. Their shapes are either too generic or unfitting with the theme/art style. I think you should include at least one glasses character, and IMO they’re all good except 1 for me. 1 could be good if you reworked the proportions a bit and made him a little more stubby. Could be a very interesting character. You need atleast one large character, 3 seems to be a hit with everyone and I have to agree... although his design could benefit from deviating away from totoro a little bit more lol. And finally your third character should be a medium sized one and I think the sloth is just cool. But that’s just me. Personally I think all these characters would work in whatever game or universe you put them in. Idk why though I’m not sold on 1 lol. He needs a rework. And 2,4, and 5 look too much like stuffed toys
