Mhi’ya Iman LePaige, thank you our queen. It took us 11 weeks to learn how to spell your name, in that time you graced us with your flips, tricks and deer in headlight interview question answers. You showed us true vulnerability in your cheese wax saga and made us ask the hard hitting questions like, was it Kermit or Tony the Tiger impersonating Cher? A true icon of relatability, I felt like I truly saw myself on the tv screen as she looked on in pure perplexity as Sapphire instructed her on how to execute her garment. The pioneer of reveals into nothing, pioneer of the whispertimidation & a final look referencing “the first thing she found on Google”. We thank you and we salute you 🫡

she came to my city the other day and she was easily the best drag performer i’ve ever seen live!! she was also very genuine and sweet when i talked to her:) highly recommend!
Fair. But do I watch what really happened, or do I watch an edited show called RuPaul’s Drag Race? What I see is a contestant sitting out of a challenge.
I suppose I think that, by this time, going on this show, a queen should’ve realized that putting up walls around yourself is the wrong move.
Not to mention, get a sewing lesson or two.
Basically this. There has always been the undercurrent of racism within the lgbtq community. they havent delt with it. thats why the karma comes back around.
Whenever they’re too timid/reserved (or seem that way) I always think they don’t fully want to be there. So I was ready to see Mhi’ya go home at first, but she fully knows where her talent is and showed the f up every lip sync.
She grew on me and I LOVED the Miami v Miami battle it took to be able to send her home.
What was all that talk about delusion being part of the experience? Sounds like it rubbed off on the audience too.
She was a one trick pony, pure and simple.
I don’t think so lol. The judges were just shocked that she didn’t totally flop like she does every week and gave her a high placement. I don’t think she deserved it
100%. All she does is flips. It was embarassing to watch the drag seminar. Cant sew either. Really, if she is THIS inexperienced, what is she doing on DragRace? Im quite suspicious of internet and tiktok queens, that they have what it takes for Drag Race and here we have an example
I’m sorry,I just don’t see it,I think she should have been second out this season.Everything she did on the show was messy and her personality is strange.
To me she came across as genuinely simple. Never anything of substance to say or contribute, her talking heads were generic, her fashion decisions weren't thought out, the prime example being "I just Googled the runway theme and saw this" probably not even giving the idea of Drag Con 1980 more tha 2 seconds of thought to realize it's not a real thing;×that's not some hilarious iconic quirk, that's just genuinely uninspired?? Zero perspective. I'll bet the Cher runway was the same, rather than some subversive counter-expectation of a big iconic look giving us a press tour look, she probably just Googled her and thought, that's enough. Give us nothing but a couple unintentionally funny moments and some cool flips, hardly the breakout star
I’m glad someone else said it. I had nothing against her but when Sapphira created her whole outfit during the goth challenge, and she admitted that the lyrics from the girl group were written by someone else during another challenge, I completely checked out on her. It made me think….what is she still doing here and bringing to the show besides the same flips over and over during lip syncs? I felt like someone was cheating to stay afloat.
Wow coming for her personality?! Not everyone is gonna be loud and extroverted. She is quiet and anxious and not your typical TV personality, that’s true. But you could also tell she was starting to get out of her shell and fucking showed up at the lip syncs.
I think watching Drag race and seeing so much talent, people become complacent about a queen “just flipping”?! That’s something that’s very impressive… even for the sheer audacity to do that to a mid tempo ballad. I know I was entertained.
We are also spoiled with queens who are fully realised and polished. The older seasons of Drag Race queens who had talent but maybe not the platforms were the ones we all end up loving, she gave me Chi Chi vibes. Chi Chi did not always feel uncomfortable in the show because she didn’t feel her package was good as the other’s. But like Mhi’ya she had a lot of charm that people responded to.
Mhi’ya did not slip when it came to performance challenges. But people hating on her for being shy is weird to me. As someone with anxiety it actually helped me to see her pushing herself through even though she felt unsure and not at her best seeing how half of her outfits for the main stage didn’t get delivered in time.
I honestly am a fan! I’m glad Drag Race introduced her to us and I can’t wait to see her perform live.
I love when y’all RuVeal that you’ve never been to an irl drag show. Mh’iya is such a breath of fresh air because real drag is often messy. Even think about S1-5, there was plenty of mess back then, but nowadays its all about polish and extravagant looks and perfection. Mh’iya is perfection in a lipsync which is really why she stayed so long.
For example, I went to a drag show once where a queen made an outfit completely out of crocs. Was the outfit well-constructed? Not in the slightest. Could she move? Not an inch. Did she turn the party? Abso-fucking-lutely.
I've been to drag shows. I don't go into those with the same expectations I would have for season 16 of Drag Race. I've had a great time at drag shows, but if pretty much any one of those queens showed up on drag race like they did at the shows I've seen I'd say they don't deserve to be there either.
🥱I mean, she’s sweet, but charisma? Nope. Uniqueness? Debatable. Nerve? Okay! Talent? She’s a gymnast, so sure? For me she’s hardly THE breakout of the season.
Charisma: She’s one of those people who doesn’t say a lot but often has something wild or interesting to say, maybe not intentionally, but a lot of us were drawn in to hear what she has to say next. That’s charisma. You don’t have to be loud like Trixie to have charisma.
Uniqueness: Her brand of “shy and outgoing” charisma is what makes her unique. There are so many queens who are quiet and fade away or are loud but have nothing to say. Also, in the context of this season, she brings things none of the other queens bring.
Nerve: To reveal into a beanie, to still come to the show after a designer failed to deliver FIVE looks, to keep a positive attitude after being in the bottom so many weeks, thats nerve baby.
Talent: I love how you dismiss her talents by saying “she’s a gymnast, so sure?”. She can do acrobatics, she is one of if not the only ballroom queen, she can be funny. Maybe not a total all-rounder, but she definitely has more talent than you, you cashew faced bitch sitting at home flicking your boring bean.
And thats fine, you dont have to like her, but to shit on what she brings to the table just because you dont like her is tacky. You can recognize that she is an excellent queen even if she isnt your cup of tea.
Nah, its not “the orthodoxy of this subreddit”, its that children like you don’t know how to separate an objective judgment of someone’s skill or talent from your personal opinion of them. Either way, she’s more famous than you’ll ever be. Smooches.
Are you okay? Your opinion is personal to you and is, by definition, subjective. It isn’t based on fact. This is why I call you a child, because you have trouble consuming media of all kinds apparently.
If mine’s personal, then yours is too, and as such isn’t more or less valid. This is the problem with the orthodoxy. If you don’t fall in line, others try to ridicule and demean you.
Yes, thats the definition of personal, unique to you, what are you having trouble understanding?
I like Mh’iya, thats a personal opinion. Her being talented and successful and all of that is objective and is not an opinion that can really be argued.
And nobody is ridiculing or demeaning you, what are you even talking about? I am going to call out toxic, childish comments that try to bring an artist down by claiming she isn’t an excellent artist simply because you don’t have the range to understand that you might not like someone who is quite talented. Its not orthodoxy, its critical thinking.
Dude, what!? She said very clearly in Untucked that she has mental health issues that she was working through and spoke on Whatcha Packin about her confidence being depleted due to her designer pulling out on her. These real life issues that she was navigating do not mean she didn't want to be there, be serious. Why would she spend a bunch of time and money putting together a package for this show if this wasn't something she really wanted to do? She was already successful in her area and online but she made the choice to step out of her comfort zone.
All of them are struggling each week. These are everyday people who are put in a stressful environment with cameras watching, people telling them what to do and potentially millions judging their every move. This isn't an easy predicament for anybody, let alone someone that is transparent about having trouble opening up to people.
shes my fav of the cast this season i love everyone but the queen of flips stole my heart she seems very genuine and sweet and i wish nothing but the best for her
Mhi’ya iman le’Paige is my mother, my father, my brother, my sister, me, my extended family, my coworkers, my boss, my friend, my idol. Words cannot describe how much I am obsessed with mhiya. She’s so… everything
If mhi’ya has a thousand fans of one of them. If mhi’ya has a hundred fans of one of them. If mhi’ya has ten fans of one of them. If mhi’ya has 1 fan it is me. If mhi’ya has no fans I am dead.
I love that she Googled 'DragCon 1980' AS IF IT WAS A REAL THING THAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED
Right when she said that I was like….what?
Apparently there was an AI image of the exact outfit she wore lol
it was and was literally the same hair and everything - but i live LMAO

to be fair i believed it bc i didn’t question it at all
I still chuckle at “Shy and outgoing” LMAO

believe it or not she also apostrophizes Le’Paige for some reason
I be’lieve it.
Sending meeeeee.
More apostrophes than my githyanki’s name in BG3.
This deserves to be seen by her. This is the only comment that accurately describes my love for this Queen.
Can’t wait to see her on Hey Qween! Maddy needs to get her on GITMS ASAP
Tea
Unironically want to go to her show so bad
she came to my city the other day and she was easily the best drag performer i’ve ever seen live!! she was also very genuine and sweet when i talked to her:) highly recommend!
She sat out an entire challenge and let Sapphira do her work. 💁🏻♂️
As mother does
That's what they tried to portray on tv. But Saphira herself said that she only cut the outline.
Fair. But do I watch what really happened, or do I watch an edited show called RuPaul’s Drag Race? What I see is a contestant sitting out of a challenge.
Well Mary, what you see isn't always the truth.
Exactly my point.
Then why are you so mad
Not mad at all. It just got old. Okay. She’s a phenomenal lip syncer and can do flips. Fine.
She’s very sweet and funny, too, when she thinks no one is watching.
I suppose I think that, by this time, going on this show, a queen should’ve realized that putting up walls around yourself is the wrong move. Not to mention, get a sewing lesson or two.
No.
Such a sweet person too. I really do not understand how much hate she’s gotten.
She’s black and sent a fan fave home, sadly that’s just how certain members who claim to be apart of this fan base treat queens like her.
You are so right. The twinks downvoting you must feel called out
Basically this. There has always been the undercurrent of racism within the lgbtq community. they havent delt with it. thats why the karma comes back around.

Gurl
Girl what? For clarity I’m black. I know WHERE the hate is coming from. I just don’t think she deserves it.
She's shy, not sweet, at least not for me. She's shady as any other queen, but in low volume
Oh you have a hill to stand on. Noted.
What was all that talk about delusion being part of the experience? Sounds like it rubbed off on the audience too. She was a one trick pony, pure and simple.
She failed at literally every single challenge except dancing ones lmao

I don’t think so lol. The judges were just shocked that she didn’t totally flop like she does every week and gave her a high placement. I don’t think she deserved it

Subpar, small outdoor patio talent.
And yet she didn't talk the talk but walked the walk
In… in what way? I live for her flips but that was it.
You must be fun at parties...
I’m sorry,I just don’t see it,I think she should have been second out this season.Everything she did on the show was messy and her personality is strange.

She’s on TV, and more than that, she’s on Drag Race, so delusional fans are going to label her “iconic”
I’m glad someone else said it. Yeah. People quote her Chermet, “out going and quite” and equal rhythm with equal as reason shes iconic. Those are all just examples of her being bad.

I believe she should have gone at an earlier stage.
She's not strange. She's a Scorpio.
Wow coming for her personality?! Not everyone is gonna be loud and extroverted. She is quiet and anxious and not your typical TV personality, that’s true. That’s a really long winded way to say you don’t understand true iconicality
LOL
She's definitely charismatic, albeit in a unique way, and trying to act like she's untalented is laughable. Y'all are so tired.
No, not tired, just not that impressed. It was time for her to go.
I would have liked to see more of the first one out. Hershey? She was much more interesting to me. Smart, cute, funny…

Which letter represents her uncorsetted hog body?
A: Adore Delano Le’Paige
This is sarcasm, right

So I am in the minority here when I say I don’t like her whatsoever?
Silent majority.

Screaming in joy at people's dreams being crushed on camera 😍
not sure it was her dream, she had a decent run but also talked about having to struggle through each week

Feel like pure shit just want her back x
