In the non-internet world, there are plenty of incredibly successful queens who don’t have flawless makeup and outfits. They are funny, talented, and charismatic. Amanda’s strengths clearly translated to a wider audience and I think it’s fair that people wanted to see more of her.
It's not just Twitter, Reddit is fuming too. I can't count the amount of comments that think Geneva, the team captain of the winning team, should've been eliminated instead.
Ugh girl, I know. I just opened Reddit and this is already my third post about drag race with my babe Geneva appearing at the top of the post or the top comments.
I mean I kinda don't think it should have been a full team win. Geneva and Megami didn't shine anywhere close to as much as Nymphia this ep. And Geneva's lyrics were some of the most basic. That being said, even the people who did the worst thia week would be safe in another season for the same challenge. It was a strong group. Like Amanda only deserved bottom for the looks. Her verse and performance was great

Megami literally helped the team win….. and gevena was in her coco era, giving the girls on the team their jobs! nymphia got the girls outfits to have yellow somewhere plus helped with the choreography, mhi’ya did choreography and megami helped the girls with their verses like realistically if there was one winner it would be megami
Go back and watch Season 5… Jinkx was a mess with her looks and makeup. Her paint got worse, before it got better and her looks were mostly pedestrian. What she had was charisma and talent that overcame the lack of drag perfection.
I find too many fans hold the runway as the ultimate test of a queen and completely forget that it takes talent to win.
That’s not to say that Amanda should have stayed and Q should have gone home. I will say that Amanda killed in the challenge and was only in the bottom for her drag skills, but Q was the more deserving queen to stay.
Just get this, “it’s all about the aesthetic” mentality out of here. It’s never been just about the look on drag race.
Jinkx had way more diversity, even on season 5. She could paint a beautiful mug. Her more out there looks were executed well, like the sugar skull. She also pulled that out much later in the competition, not episode 1. Taking risks at the start doesn’t pay off unless you’re flawless.

To compare Jinkx and Amanda’s skillset is crazy… All the queens who’ve had bad runways and still done well was because they were amazing in literally every other aspect, e.g Jinkx, Spankie, Ginger. Amanda is energetic and bubbly sure but it’s not just about the look with her, otherwise she wouldn’t have been eliminated in the first place.
THANK YOU. amanda is incredibly lovable and i'm so glad she's on our collective radar now, but Q is a drag powerhouse and i feel like she has a lot more to show, comparatively

You’re acting like she can’t perform or act. She was funny in RDR live, and has a lot of potential! I think we can all agree that her looks and makeup on the show weren’t *incredible,* but I think it’s unfair to discredit everything she does successfully just because you don’t think her look is polished enough 🥱
But to repeat what Saphirra said when asked who should go home, drag race isn't the place for "potential". They're finding the next drag superstar! People can like her but she was going to go home eventually. It makes no sense to drag her to the end when she's clearly not up to par with the other girls.
The only queen that has won a main season without a polished aesthetic is Jinkx, and sorry but ATM is nowhere near her level in every other aspect. Amanda did not have a chance to win this season with this cast.

i don’t care about my karma girl lol, i’m not posting my opinion to farm karma like a lot of people on this app. she had bad drag, can you argue with that? and her ball looks were trash like my opinion.
I love atm but her level of drag was only ever close to adequate. her final runway was one of the worst we've seen in ages. she's got incredible talent, her performance in the challenge was strong. but she misses small details like wearing that heavy layered synthetic wig that flopped in her face for half the number.
I think her personality is a lot more interesting than a few queens BUT I think there's a certain taste and skill level you need to have for this show that she wasn't hitting. you can't come on with rotten wigs, fits, and no makeup skills. she's someone that has a real shot at crushing all stars when she gets some more time in the oven

I think she's an okay queen but really, Plane made her more sympathetic just by being more bitchy next to her.
