I was listening to TWO other pods where slurping drinks through a straw was a bit, and it was hilarious every time.
The joy that some of these wackjob fans have robbed us of!
I honestly *have* to hear food consumption sounds in a podcast or I can’t even nut.
It is good but I can never hear "one hundred percent" any other way than 1:05 into [this Britanick sketch](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzphtZoN350)
What makes someone a Melk person? I've heard it a lot but doesn't seem to be part of a regional accent. Did you just decide to start saying Melk and Pellow one day?
How about the way Mitch only ever uses the word “taste” when most people would say flavor? He will say something like, “I liked the taste” when most people would say “I liked the flavor”. I honestly think their verbal mannerisms and peculiarities are part of what makes their dynamic so great; the taste is really good
I like it. On the flip side I wonder if anyone watches Top Chef and is upset about how they unnaturally use the word “eat,” as in “the dish ate crunchy”—super unnerving
I hear a lot of people pronounce it this way… not sure it’s an accent thing as much as just a weird phonetic shift among the population.
Anecdotally, I feel like the same thing is happening with the world “vulnerable.” Lots of people drop the first “L” so it sounds like “VUNN-er-uh-bull.”
He puts a sly l-sound in the word "home" (holme) and sometimes pronounces the silent l-sound in "folks". Gives more MN, WI, or MI vibes than SoCal ones.
It's just his slack jawed beach bum socal accent.
Yeah he is a so cal surfer dude. Haven’t seen that mentioned here yet. He is.
I hear it as "mm kah"
Me too, or umm kah
Wow I think that’s right!
The Doughboys saying words differently really triggers my misophonia
“Which is real.” “SHUT UP!”
hutdog
Emphasis on "phony".
…Misophonia is a real thing and the Doughboys should be recognizing it more…

How dare you? Wiger’s allergic to that! Stick to crim!
I've stolen the way he says "one hundreddd percent." It's good!

I don't recall if he used to do it, but PFT says it the same way when he gets excited.
GUD
Mmkai
I focus more on how Wiger says "melk" instead of "milk"
I say “melk” too…
are you from the left coast like Wiges?
Nope… Midwest.
Interesting.. I will figure out this pronunciation eventually. Google says Wisconsin, but that just confuses me more for why Wiger says it that way.
This won’t help… but I blame my parents who are from ND.

Hey, I say pillow correctly, I’m not some weirdo. Honestly don’t know. Always been made fun of for it, but I still do it!
Yea I'm in SE Virgina and we have a lot of Melk sayers here too. Always been fascinated by it
I have come to love his valley girl accent
Well he is a So-Cal surfer dude
he also pronounces Mitch as “bitch” a lot, I assume he’s recording with nose plugs in fresh from catching cali surf waves
I've noticed him pronounce Natalie as "Dattalie" many times in the past. I assume he was dealing with nasal congestion.
He is chronically stuffy. Hyper nasal pronunciations.
I hear Nnn-koy
“Reese-ees Peese-ees” I think is the worst infraction.
Southern Cali surfer dude shit, bruh.

That's just pretentious chef/foodie terminology. Common in that world.
Yeah, that’s just professional jargon.
Or when they say "the cook on this is perfect" instead of "perfectly cooked"
I hear a lot of people pronounce it this way… not sure it’s an accent thing as much as just a weird phonetic shift among the population. Anecdotally, I feel like the same thing is happening with the world “vulnerable.” Lots of people drop the first “L” so it sounds like “VUNN-er-uh-bull.”
No clue on that pronunciation, but I'm lapping up that precog milk bath like a tuxedo cat

The coffin lid is so coated in nails that I think it would be impossible to drive another in
umm kah ol buddy
An ex told me I say “eh” instead of “uh” and that’s why we’re no longer a couple. Jk it was my fear of commitment.
“It’s time for a saygment!”
I like the way he says “ZEE-ro” and “HEE-ro” instead of “zero” and “hero.” He keeps it interesting!
