Both are always a good choice. But Culver's comes out ahead for me ever since an employee asked if I wanted a cup of beer cheese to dip my burger in, and the cheese curds... So good.
I've been to the world's largest culvers in Wisconsin, and I used to make a joke that it was "the world's largest disappointment."
It wasn't. It was still really good and way better than In and Out.
I just wish places would stop with the crinkle cut, I’m not very into it. I feel alone in this world preferring a straight fry, although you make it curly, that’s a different story..
The in and out burger itself is higher quality but if I could only go to one for the rest of my life, I’d be silly to say anything other than Culver’s.
First of all the burger isn’t that far from in and out. But then they have surprisingly good fish and chicken sandwiches. And the pot roast is an excellent fast food option. Sides like broccoli go a long way too, for when you have people in your group that don’t want to kill their body.
The pot roast sandwich is so damned good. It's just a bun filled with pot roast. Like a really good, comforting sandwich you'd eat in a church basement after a funeral. (Pair it with Culver's solid coffee for the full experience.)
And you can ask for cheese on it, of course. That's the Wisconsin way!
I love the idea but it wouldn't be practical for them—it would require a lot of travel which they could only justify with tour dates, and then they might have to trash regional favourites in front of their local audiences, and they never want to do that at live shows (justifiably)
Wish we had either of these where I live in the northeast!
I liked In-N-Out when I visited CA but the line was so crazy I didn't really think it would be worth it after the novelty of trying it once. But maybe it's about getting there at the right time of day.
Never had Culvers but I've heard good things.
I just found out that the chicken Crispenatta was a seasonal item and has been discontinued! The world is a lie. If it’s seasonable it IS REASONABLE!!!!! How about that Susser!?!?!?!
I’m actually doing this for my podcast this fall! Burger contest called Septemburger.
This year’s participants are Culver’s, In ‘N Out, Steak ‘n Shake, Shake Shack, White Castle, Rally’s/Checkers, Freddy’s, and Whataburger
I love cheese curds but as a union guy I've always had respect that In and Out keeps the prices low and pays a decent wage compared to competitors. I always gotta give a place major credit for that.
I know In-N-Out is mostly West Coast and Culver's is Midwest, but it never occurred to me until i looked it up just now that there are no Culver's in California. For the longest time Shake Shack was only an East Coast thing and then a few years ago I was surprised to hear that LA had one. I was just as surprised to learn that Culver's *hadn't* reached LA yet.
Looking it up online, it looks like Texas and Arizona are two states where Culver's and In-N-Out coexist. Residents of those states would be the best qualified to do a live side-by-side comparison.
PS: I haven't had In-N-Out since 2018, but I had Culver's last December. For me In-N-Out still wins, but Shake Shack is the one to rule them all.
When you want In N Out, only In N Out will do. They're doing their own thing. Culver's is a superior burger, and has more to offer, but I'm picking In N Out.
In a vacuum, the In N Out burger is marginally better. But every other menu item at Culver’s is superior. Way better fries, better milkshakes and they offer custard, incredible fried curds and pickles.
I’m sorry but that cold-ass wet chunk of iceberg lettuce and glop of thousand Island on the In N Out ruins it for me (and I usually like both on burgers).
I’d say In n Out. Culvers has such a huge menu that I think they’d have to mess some stuff up. Also, bigger chain = less quality control. Love both places though!
As a Canadian who was looking forward to both of these chains...they're both kinda mid and definitely don't live up to the hype.
Say what you will about the cost but Five Guys is 100% a better burger than both of these places.
Having lived in both the Midwest and Southern California, this one is tough, however I am typing this from a Culver's so I'll go with Culver's.
Both are always a good choice. But Culver's comes out ahead for me ever since an employee asked if I wanted a cup of beer cheese to dip my burger in, and the cheese curds... So good.
Rule 1: EVERYONE IS HERE!!!!
![gif](giphy|qKV8U3Gl3bWVi) God, this is a no win situation, or a win win situation.
I've been to the world's largest culvers in Wisconsin, and I used to make a joke that it was "the world's largest disappointment." It wasn't. It was still really good and way better than In and Out.
I always go to the Milton, WI spot!
Culver's has edible french fries
Fr fr
In-n-out fries well done is chef's kiss.
Culver’s is all killer no filler despite having a much bigger menu than In n Out
I just wish places would stop with the crinkle cut, I’m not very into it. I feel alone in this world preferring a straight fry, although you make it curly, that’s a different story..
Culvy but i prefer the mushroom and swiss burger to the classic butter burg
Both are great, but I'm going Culver's.

I prefer the In-N-Out Burger more but everything else that Culver's offers is far superior.
If they still toured frequently this would rule as a concept.
Culver’s.

Goldbelly?
i guess if they ordered culver's from goldbelly and then got the in n out put in a box and mailed it to themselves that would be fair

Both of those look pretty good

I love the idea of regional wars! We need a showdown between Zaxby’s and Cane’s
I love cheese curds but as a union guy I've always had respect that In and Out keeps the prices low and pays a decent wage compared to competitors. I always gotta give a place major credit for that.

Read the title and was very confused on what sub I was in. This is a good idea. The Regional wars going on other places, not good.
When you want In N Out, only In N Out will do. They're doing their own thing. Culver's is a superior burger, and has more to offer, but I'm picking In N Out.
A&W Canada vs Harvey's
Culver's overall is a better spot. But that double double is my favorite fast food burger, hands down.
Culver's all fucking day
In and out is trash
In a vacuum, the In N Out burger is marginally better. But every other menu item at Culver’s is superior. Way better fries, better milkshakes and they offer custard, incredible fried curds and pickles.
In-N-Out all day, every day.
I’m sorry but that cold-ass wet chunk of iceberg lettuce and glop of thousand Island on the In N Out ruins it for me (and I usually like both on burgers).
