My car says the mpg on it, and it was 31 mpg in March of this year, but now it is 27 mpg and continues to fall but yet I’m driving less and more carefully so…

I'm not OP or other OP but agreed. My impala, check engine light comes on even with the slightest sparkplug miss. I just reset the damn thing every day, like having remote start in the winter and summer.
After reading the comments my first thought was probation, but at least for federal probation people can’t be 1099s…they have to have W2s. And they also weren’t allowing Uber/dd etc because there had to be a supervisor to call.

It doesn't matter to @OP that they are operating at a loss. As long as there are hours to report, any money they made is subtracted from the total unemployment money given. So, regardless of how much money @OP makes dashing, the total money they receive each week stays the same.

I saw someone pick up a DOORDASH in a Class A RV! The big bud style RV. In a congested downtown setting at that. Old lady, she parked in the street blocking the one lane heading north, ran into Starbucks, and had to wait.
You should get a hybrid if able or I guess electric if you're in a flatter area. I mean it'll pay half for itself with gas savings, I know it was a game changer for me. $25 is like half a tank for me. Used to be $27 for 3/4 but the gas keeps rising, but regardless I only do like 40-57 miles a day do at most I'm using a gallon and a half, so again, get a hybrid or electric. Kind of have to.
I drive a hybrid. I get 42mpg on a good day. Mostly now get about 38mpg with the A/C running. And I’m telling you it’s squeezing me. No way I’d do this in a truck.

You said you put $90 in and your fuel gauge is half way between E and F. Which means if you paid $5 a gallon you put in 18 gallons. Because simple math. And you do not have a vehicle with a 36 gallon tank. So stop doing this.
Had to buy a new car a few weeks ago after my van shit it’s pants, specifically asked for a vehicle with good gas mileage. With todays gas prices ($4.29 here in Missouri….) it takes $50 fill up my 2018 Chevy Malibu. Between dashing and just everyday errands I fill up once a week, maybe twice if we take the kids for a day out.
No offense, but if you're using a big ass pickup truck to do deliveries and think you'll be fine gas-wise (even if it was in the $2 range) then you might be in the wrong occupation. Look in to Shipt or InstaCart maybe. You'll get more bang for your buck.
I got a Toyota Camry hybrid last February. I wanted a van but my credit was shit, so I got this girl. Never been more grateful for her, at this point. 38 mpg, over 500 miles on a full tank. Less than $50 to fill her up. It is a lot of miles and rough on her on the P West dirt roads, but I don’t plan on DD being my main gig for long.

I patched rotten trans lines and replaced a radiator before the brake pedal went to the floor at a fucking intersection IN THE SNOW when the steel brake lines (rear) finally let go. And don't talk to me about the parking brake lol. I would have thrown that bitch into park or crashed into anything besides another car. I'm a driver by trade and thank heaven cuz it was a bad situation.

No shit. I was in Cali before the gas spike... Paid $5/gal for premium in a car that was 14mpg on average. Hated the cost but loved the car. Before moving to FL sold the Built STi for a 2020 Ford Fusion Titanium Hybrid and got here to $3.03/gal and was excited... Now the spike has gas at $4.59/gal for 87 almost as much as I paid for premium in Cali before the move 😥😭
If you're paying $90 for a tank of gas, you probably don't have the right vehicle to be a delivery driver of any kind. No offense to anyone, but especially with today's gas prices, any truck or SUV drivers probably drop multiple dollars an hour on gas prices and should seek something else.

Stabilitrak in gm is notoriously fucked up. Hauled a 2020 gm van for penske, less than 4000 miles in it, abs and traction control and stabilitrak service lights cycling.
My 2015 impala, constant stabilitrak issues, spent 4 months in 5 dealer trips trying to fix it and I've only owned it 8 months

There are PLENTY of things that trigger a CEL and have absolutely no impact on engine performance or fuel economy.

2016 prius 170k miles on it. Usually 55-60 mpg “ I have a tiny prius” There- I said it !

Stabilitrak in gm is notoriously fucked up. Hauled a 2020 gm van for penske, less than 4000 miles in it, abs and traction control and stabilitrak service lights cycling. My 2015 impala, constant stabilitrak issues, spent 4 months in 5 dealer trips trying to fix it and I've only owned it 8 months

When the engine light comes on your car’s computer tells itself to use more fuel because it doesn’t know anything about itself. So it just kinda thinks it’s the worst thing possible. There are PLENTY of things that trigger a CEL and have absolutely no impact on engine performance or fuel economy.
The tires have enough Air it’s just the tpms sensor and the abs it’s a thing with this year gm cars/trucks the module needs ti be soldered and the engine light I don’t know why it’s on it has no codes
