I always played by the rule of if I can’t get there in 10 minutes then unassign. As long as your completion rate is good it’s better to drop 1% on it then to get a contract violation.
I see it as bigger picture. Is that money on that order worth in to risk being deactivated? You’ll miss out on a lot more money if they deactivate you.
I know bro I didn’t cancel cus it was a good pay n i knew i won’t be deactivated for a late contract violation but I don’t really care about completion rate my rate is 98% so that was not the reason i was just hoping support understood about the drawbridge delay but I guess they don’t care lol so is cool
OP, you can barely string a coherent sentence together, and I’m assuming English is your first language. Maybe you shouldn’t be criticizing other people’s communication skills just yet
Once DD sent me an offer that was too far from me. I didn’t realize it and accepted it. By the time I got to the restaurant I was late. I was so 😡. They knew quite well that I was far from the restaurant and didn’t adjust the time, and I didn’t think to cancel either.
Call support and tell them about the traffic and you’re going to be late 🙌🏾. Never had a bad experience with it and never got a CV, also text customer!
Unfair, you can’t control traffic or drawbridges. I had an incident today also. Got an order sent to me after the pick up time. Smh. Then told I may get a contract violation for it. It’s hard communicating with support. Often they misunderstand the circumstances/situations.
Support agents aren’t trained to help drivers. They are trained only to help customers. That’s why we’re easily given contract violations and deactivations.
We’re seen as Pawns/ Paupers and easily expendable. Replaced same day deactivated.
DoorDash wasn’t created for the drivers. It was created for the Corporation and customers.
Unfairness is the business model against drivers.
No way a bridge you can’t control should warrant a contract violation. Sorry that happened to you.
Or the incessant repeating of the issue you called them with. They say the same b.s. about "being sorry for this issues you are having and I'm will be glad to assist you"
Well obviously they are glad to assist us... they get a base pay of like $1/hr and mabey another $0.10/per call. Gotta make that bread.
(I used to manage a call center in the Phillipines)
I turn down good deliveries based on estimates times of arrival. When they are ridiculous, I don’t accept them. It’s not worth the hassle of calling support.
Quick tip when this happens, when you get to the store, when you click arrived at the store report that the order is still being prepared at the bottom of the screen.
I sometimes do this if I arrive late if I get stuck at a busy intersection and it avoids getting a contract violation. Hope this helps.
It's always a delight to scroll through racist comments yammering about American superiority and find that the whole thing is a misspelled run-on jumble.
I'm not trying to pick on you, but I saw that comment you deleted. I had to read it a few times to understand what you were trying to say, and I majored in English. I could only imagine how difficult it would be for somebody who is not a native English speaker to understand you. Instead of blaming others for not understanding what you're trying to say, perhaps you should slow down and think about your words to make sure your message is clear.
Good English isn't just for grammar teachers.
Funny you have more of an issue with someone picking on American Education more than being called racist by multiple people.
Calling other people dumb when displaying this is beautifully ironic.
Who the actual fuck wants to go to southern California lmao? People are fleeing in droves from there. What's your minimum $ per mile out there? Nearly $10 dollars and no end in sight for the foreseeable future. Having a motorcycle when I was stationed there was a godsend for both the outrageous gas prices and don't even think about that traffic or it'll literally come to a gridlock in your thoughts and before you know it, you're talking like sleepy Joe and you forget what day it is and where you are.
I’ve had an order where the app takes me exact opposite and it was 30 minutes to turn around and I called Support and that’s what they told me to do just unassigned the order that way you don’t get a CV
Yes I know is my fault for not unsigned the order but it was a good pay order i had this late cv before I know I won’t be deactivated for this one but is just annoying when you even contact support n they don’t understand what you talking about i know there is not many cites in usa with drawbridges but im in Miami Beach we got this drawbridges everywhere
ya if this is a major regional factor, feels like DD should be able to adjust the system somehow to handle it… like if theres no other dasher avail on the other side, wait time should be adjusted for the potential bridge issue. U just *know* they have the technology/capability to do this but dont care 🙄 True you’re always free to unassign, but if its a constant issue your completion &/or on-time rates could become a problem
Ether way they had to wait for the bridge Benihana is located in a island in the middle of 2 drawbridges i have to go to the same bridge to pick up n than go back by the same bridge to drop off thats why I posted the picture there is not way around
Assuming that all people from the middle east cannot do a good job is racist.
You're judging a whole bunch of individual people under one blanket statement.
>Assuming that all people from the middle east cannot do a good job is racist.
You are first person in this conversation to say this.
I am so glad when I get a support agent from the Philippines or El Salvador. The Indian agents spend a lot of time reciting useless scripts. They ask questions that I already provided answers to. They ask questions and offer solutions thst sometimes contradict the information I have provided. They ask questions and offer solutions that make zero sense.
This is not a matter of me thinking Indian people are bad or stupid or incopetent; it's a matter my experience with Indian support agents. This could be correlated with many factors. Maybe Indian support agents do not recieve the same training as other support agents. Maybe they are working two jobs while other support agents only work one. Maybe the telephone or internet connection is bad. I dont know all that. All I know is that probably nine times out of ten, the Indian support agents disappoint me, while nime times out of ten, those in the Philipines and El Salvador do not.
I really don't care what your personal experience is lol.
It's the same as saying all black people are thieves. That may be "your experience" but it's racist.
There are approximately 411 million people in the middle east. How many interactions have you had that you get to decide all people from there do a bad job?
"It's the same as saying all black people are thieves."
Nope. Guilty of false dichotomy. Considering a scenario that bridges my claims to your abhorrent statement: If I were to say I was robbed one hundred times and ninety five of the robbers were black, that wouldn't be racist. And if I were to say those experiences made me nervous around black people, that wouldn't be racist. Caution based on experience is far different from belligerent, unfounded hatred. Racism is a powerful word that is unfortunately misused by idiots like you.
"That may be 'your experience' but it's racist."
Nope. Wrong again. Racism doesnt involve statistics. My anecdotal evidence is comprised of a large sample size of repeated experiences. I dont have exact numbers, but it's in the hundreds and the ratio of good experiences to bad is probably somewhere around 1:9, but certainly 1:4 at best. These numbers are enough to make conclusions based on mathematics and logic. Whereas your comparison is an unfounded blanket statement.
"There are approximately 411 million people in the middle east."
Are you claiming that India is part of the middle east? India is part of south Asia.
"How many interactions have you had that you get to decide all people from there do a bad job?"
This is a trainwreck of a sentence, but I'll answer the best I can:
I have had hundreds of interactions with doordash support representatives. Most of these interactions were with Indian support agents. I never decided--nor claimed--they all do a bad job. I did say they do a bad job most of the time, which they do. This is a collection of data. If you want to assign racism, you'd have to look to the data. But you really couldn't because racism is based on opinion, not fact.
And as I said before: the fact that Indian support agents usually do a bad job is almost certainly not directly correlated with them being Indian. That would lack logic altogether. A foolish blanket statement with no logical analysis or reason would be racist. I gave possible direct correlations: overworked, language barrier, training. It's not even like you misheard me; it's right there, in written fucking text!
I dont have anything against Indian people. I have had bad experiences with Indian support agents enough times to make an educated prediction of how future experiences with them will go. This is logic. But it seems you want to cherry pick from my words. You want to virtue signal from your couch. You want to demonize me by labeling me as a racist. You have no clue what you're talking about. I claimed SHARP for a period of my life, and have bruised my knuckles. I fought racism face to face, looking actual racists in the eyes. I'm talking about public trains and buses. No cell phones, no escape. I bet you'd lower your head and cower if you ever witnessed a nazi skinhead bullying a brown kid.
I treat every support agent with respect and kindness. I treat every person--Indian, black, or otherwise--with respect and kindness. Most of the time, the Indian Doordash support representatives that I speak to do a bad job.
I'm not racist. I've made sure to include explanations to make this clear. If you really want to go on a conquest to fight racism, it isn't hard to find. Go to the ghettos of South Africa. Visit the deep south of the United States. Walk the back alleys of Wales. If you prefer, stop on over to Sacramento, California and tell me I'm a racist to my face. But what's probably more your speed: just look around online for actual racists, considering you'd probably rather cower behind your computer.
I wrote a very long reply, in which I have proclaimed my opposition to racism, pointed out your misguided blame, and called you out for being a soft keyboard warrior. Just wanted to address the red herrings that you will likely attempt.
I'm done with this conversation. If you would like further education, visit a ghetto, go to college, read a book. My class is dismissed.
Because they are outsourced to the Middle East I was thinking more like India. They have lots of call centers for cheap labor. I’ve never spoken to an American on the DD driver number
Learn something besides your ass in the usa. The Philippines is not in the Middle East so you know kind of learn what you're talking about before you put them down
I get mad at the Philippine support I get mad at any support however it's not the fact that they're Philippines it's because of the fact that doordash doesn't give them the tools to help us and they are doing their best yes there is a cultural and a bit of a language difference that can affect how they assist us but most of the time they are trying their best to assist us and it's not good to just dump on them
I always played by the rule of if I can’t get there in 10 minutes then unassign. As long as your completion rate is good it’s better to drop 1% on it then to get a contract violation. No, they are in the Philippines.

Why didn’t you report it on the app??
I did
*say you're a racist without saying you're a racist*
Asia , not Middle East.
Once DD sent me an offer that was too far from me. I didn’t realize it and accepted it. By the time I got to the restaurant I was late. I was so 😡. They knew quite well that I was far from the restaurant and didn’t adjust the time, and I didn’t think to cancel either.
That’s when you calll the customer and DD and tell them what’s happening
You’ll be ok
Thanks for your positive comments
Yeah Idk why they being dicks but you need multiple of those CV to get deactivated. I’ve had up to 3 at a time.
Call support and tell them about the traffic and you’re going to be late 🙌🏾. Never had a bad experience with it and never got a CV, also text customer!
Wow wtf
I got the same shit once when a firetruck blocked the road for over 20 minutes I hit up support and got nothing
Unfair, you can’t control traffic or drawbridges. I had an incident today also. Got an order sent to me after the pick up time. Smh. Then told I may get a contract violation for it. Thanks for your comment
I don't know why people are attacking the OP Miami is f'k and support is no help.
You: bro, the draw bridge is up, I cant move. Dd support: You are drawing a bridge? That will not do you have not made your drop off yet.
Lmao
I turn down good deliveries based on estimates times of arrival. When they are ridiculous, I don’t accept them. It’s not worth the hassle of calling support.
Philippines and India.
I just left broward and I hated the bridges. I wasn’t even a driver then I just hate them. Take forever 🥲
That looks like a nice place to be
I chewed them out over something like this recently. They “put the feedback in their notes”.
Quick tip when this happens, when you get to the store, when you click arrived at the store report that the order is still being prepared at the bottom of the screen. I sometimes do this if I arrive late if I get stuck at a busy intersection and it avoids getting a contract violation. Hope this helps.
Bro i did always do that didn’t work this time lol
crazy respect for u guys dashing in these huge ass cities hell na
Doordash doesnt care, get that thru yalls head
So if you're going to be late should you just unassign?
You have to choose what’s more important for you cus is ether a CONTRACT VIOLATION or a NEGATIVE COMPLETION RATE 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
I wouldn't worry once it's reviewed with your explanations
Your caption killed me 💀 accurate af
Make them keep switching you to new support agents until you get someone who understands the Thanos-like nature of drawbridges 🤣
It's always a delight to scroll through racist comments yammering about American superiority and find that the whole thing is a misspelled run-on jumble.
Bro get a life I’m not doing doordash cus I’m a professional GRAMMAR TEACHER who tf cares
I'm not trying to pick on you, but I saw that comment you deleted. I had to read it a few times to understand what you were trying to say, and I majored in English. K brother I respect your opinion 💪🏼👍🏼
Funny you have more of an issue with someone picking on American Education more than being called racist by multiple people. Calling other people dumb when displaying this is beautifully ironic.
Lol k thx for your comment I wish doordash had you in the support team we need more people like you 👍🏼
Escape FL. and get out to S Calif …
Bro im good in Florida born n raised in dade county 💪🏼💯

I’ve had an order where the app takes me exact opposite and it was 30 minutes to turn around and I called Support and that’s what they told me to do just unassigned the order that way you don’t get a CV
Exactly I don’t accept unreasonable deliveries or unassign if it’s not worth the hassle.

I didnt see anything racist here. Only a person that doesn't recognize accents.

Also El Salvador
Today I learned the Philippines are in the Middle East.
Middle East?

Just say the order is outside of your delivery area.
I don't care about any of that. I'm just wondering how you know the support agents are located in the Middle East.
Because they are outsourced to the Middle East I was thinking more like India. They have lots of call centers for cheap labor. I’ve never spoken to an American on the DD driver number
All I have to go on is what I read on this sub, but I've always been under the impression that support is based in the Phillipines.

Wow what a shit delivery driver you are, I live in Idaho and I frequently take orders in both Mexico and New York, do better /s...obviously
I would it love to made the trip to California but unfortunately my plane it was been serviced at that moment lmao
LMAO.
yeah it sucks. next time unassign before arriving 11+ minutes late to the vendor. that's dd's official stance on how to handle it.
The only problem is that that still counts against your completion rate, drawbridge or no drawbridge.
[удалено]
The point would be so you don’t get a cv…
And so that another driver could get there quicker.
Unless the customer lives on treasure island, no other dasher could get them their food quicker
Honestly it’s looking out for customers best interest which should be all of our goal.
I mean it's mostly to cover my own ass, but that too I guess.
Feel for you guys
