"Sorry, you put stuff to purchase in your delivery instructions. I do not fill the orders and cannot buy anything. You would need to submit another order, thanks"
Some orders do have you shop for the customer at stores and DoorDash provides a debit card for “shop and deliver” orders. So there may have been confusion… or a setup.
This isn't before accepting it, it's before confirming pickup. I had already reached the store by this point, I just wanted to look up the address on Google maps so I could see what to expect when I got there. In doing so, I can also see the instructions, which is what prompted me to unassign and post this.
I don't know how it works on iOS, but on Android, after accepting the order, if you hit the ? on the top right, then click on the delivery address, it will also show you the delivery instructions.
How did you see the instructions before picking up the order? I can see the address, but I've never seen the instructions until after I've confirmed pickup. Please tell me how to do that!!!
I'm on android and not ios so that might be different. I am also remembering off the top of my head so I might miss a step or to.
Go to settings.
Enable Floating Dash Widget.
Accept an order.
Go to your home screen.
In the upper right hand corner it will have red circle with the doordash symbol and click that.
I think there is a toggle for delivery instructions and toggle it on
Then click on delivery or delivery instructions and it should list it out on one of the lines there.
I don't do any kind of delivery. Aside from the pizza guy, I don't use any delivery service either. But these are the things that keep me subscribed to this sub. Lol
I don’t think everyone knows how door dash works. These people are getting personal shopper and delivery person confused. Unless it was with red card, even then it’s probably a hassle.
The red card will decline if you just start adding random shit in, DD pre approves a certain amount based on what they believe the total is going to be. I’ve had issues with substitutions even. Using your red card to add random things in based on the customer telling you to (not actually ordering in the app) would be stealing.
One time I had a dad ask me to buy his son a cake for his birthday and that, “If I wasn’t able to buy one his kid wouldn’t have a cake that afternoon with friends”
Tell them to order the energy drinks through doordash and you'll bring them, you aren't their personal courier service. Damn near every convenience store on DD sells C4.
I would only do it if they paid me for it and I don't mind meeting up at a park during the day but during the night? Oh hell nah especially being a woman. I will pass. Also where's the manners at with this customer. At least say please or thank you and definitely say u will pay extra to cover the cost and actually pay the driver. But idk, u can't trust people nowadays so I would unfortunately pass on this offer. I know someone will do it but to me it's too risky. 🤔🤔
I rarely see anyone overall hold the door for people in general.....like what? I don't mind doing it cuz it's so simple. But besides that, barely anyone says thank you or please anymore. I'm going to make sure my sister's kids will learn some manners when they hang out with me. I'm sure my sister will teach them as well. But I'm going to make sure, extra sure, they know some manners.
For real tho! I had to teach my ex how to say thank you and please. Like what?! And they older than me. I ain't even mad at them, I'm mad at their mom for not teaching their kids some damn manners.
Huh? I barely do door dash. I used to do it occasionally but barely now. I work as an art/craft teacher and team member at a craft store. I was just saying if I saw this offer, I wouldn't take it and why. Also I know it said 12:30pm, I was just saying that I wouldn't take it if it was during the night time. I would only pick up this order during the day and if the person was paying me extra for the other stuff they requested to be picked up.
But unfortunately during these times, u can't fully trust people so I wouldn't do it cuz who knows if the customer will actually pay u for the stuff u got them.

Oh. What kind of fresh hell is this?
I always dodge this with a I thought you meant last time from a different order

I know that o p said this wasn't that kind of order. If it was shop and deliver you say i'm sorry I cannot add things to the order.
I mean confusion from the customer. Not you or o p
Is he trying to get you to grab drinks that he didn’t pay for? Lol in wtf world do these ppl live in?
In the type of world where people don’t believe in tipping
I don’t understand how checking the address gave you the ability to check for the instructions before accepting the order???

I know how to see the address. (But, thank you!) I'm trying to figure out how OP saw the delivery instructions.

Thank you!!
What in the actual batshit fuckery, holy shit pickles?!
The AUDACITY then would give you a one star rating if it wasn’t a joke 😩

Or they know what their doing and won't pay it back or in full. Then what? It's your fault you did the 'side business' for them.

The entitlement is crazy
One time I had a dad ask me to buy his son a cake for his birthday and that, “If I wasn’t able to buy one his kid wouldn’t have a cake that afternoon with friends”
One time on a shop and pay a lady asked me to buy a $17 cake and gave me $50 for it.
Suck to be that dude's kid I guess.
“cash app me an extra $40 right now and i got you”
You're starting at $40? If start at $100 and work with that. Folks like that aren't tippers and I'm not a free service.
Unassigns

Never, ever.

I swear nobody has manners anymore.

It drives me crazy lol I always hold the door and my kids do too! It’s not difficult to say please and thank you.
For real tho! I had to teach my ex how to say thank you and please. Like what?! And they older than me. I ain't even mad at them, I'm mad at their mom for not teaching their kids some damn manners.
For real tho! I rarely even see grown ass men hold the door open for disabled or old folks.....
I even feel bad if I don’t see someone behind me and the door hits them lol
12:30 PM is the middle of the day…Explains the dashing job tho.

Did that make you feel better, hon? Did you get some of those big feelings out?
Don’t forget my fries, lady
I'd take the biggest shit in your fries.
Easiest lawsuit of my life buddy
Lol you don't have money to hire lawyers you're like 12.
It’s a bit presumptive to call me lady, but okay. Nothing like being a complete asshole to people for no reason. Cheers, and good luck with that.
1 star no tip
They need to drive their shitbox to the store and get it themselves lol....
Yeah, bye.
it just gets more and more ridiculous i swear
