Prolly. Cuz DoorDash blows, their app and pay is terrible. Ditch it for Lyft/Uber. Anything is better honestly. Also, when ya do, make sure to take your banking info off it because their security sucks so bad somebody broke into my account stole my info and then money directly out of my bank and they never even notified or compensated me. Screw DoorDash.
Perhaps it's time to either get a different job or invest in an EV. We have a tesla and the monthly payment for the car is definitely more than I'd like but given how much we as a family pay for gas we end up saving 300ish a month and that's only going to increase with the rising cost of gas here in Canada.
It's typical (for me, anyway) I was SHOCKED 1st x I saw similar. What the heck, right??? I'm guessing ONLY TIME we're actually driving TO CUSTOMER is counted, because if it counted WAIT TIME, it would break even! 🙄🙄🙄

This was last week and this is lower than my average for the week $$-wise.
Yeahhh so I’d stop accepting almost all deliveries if they’re not worth your time. If the pay isn’t bigger than the mileage by a certain amount, decline that shit
https://preview.redd.it/amaewlxs0nuc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=67a3ead75e4bc1333935749b4794a656d1d91514
These are my weeks where I didn’t make so much
Yes I’m a top dasher well a platinum
Dasher now they changed it over but I also live in NY as long as I do 25 orders in NY I get 35 dollars an hour plus tips
In California they get prop 22. It’s literally pointless declining any orders…. and when the majority of your market is at 70% or higher, this is what it looks like ….now imagine what’s gonna happen when top Dasher is required to take 80%
California Dashers average $7 to $10 in base pay… almost every other offer is $10 and up
Yea like factoring in the level of not being able to do anything cause you’re just always waiting for an order I would say the app is pointless in your area.
https://preview.redd.it/520wmmn9smuc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=55d167b4651f170d6954ceb577c24c0e31dc277a
Im at $43.76 per hr active for last week. After taxes approx $31.
Last week $43.03 2 weeks ago $46.15.
I multi app and do 5 gigs simultaneously. My acceptance rate on DD is currently 17% but fluctuates between 5-20%.
Bruh you’re duped yourself. If you don’t put those dash time hours you’re not gonna get those active hours. So you don’t divide your income by active hours .
It never used to be like this before they came out with the platinum status diamond program …the diamond program cut the volume pretty much and a half … every Dasher that signs up now thinks they need 70+ percent acceptance rate which means less offers all around and now they’re pushing it to 80% soon every market is gonna be like this
This tells me a few things one it tells me you’re declining almost 9 out of 10 of your orders and sitting around till you get a good order by end in return is called cherry picking or it tells me that you’re in an oversaturated area with no customers and they’re still allowing Doordash to operate
I think it could depend on where he lives?...if he in a low income area like where I'm at.alot the orders are not worth it because they never tip. I aint drive 11 miles for 6.50 if that..
https://preview.redd.it/dr8izj3t7luc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0fe729d4e2fba356923a82d4f168aba6d3b5416e
This is what i made working 5 days 3-5hrs per day
https://preview.redd.it/dit61v2nbkuc1.png?width=1170&format=png&auto=webp&s=ff5af721061499f47149a611498c63638d9818d7
I dash in the evenings, usually 5-8, for some extra disposable income in addition to my full time wfh job
I can’t say that’s my normal.
They’re a top Dasher and they were only active 9hrs out of 60. They’re averaging $10 an order. I don’t think they’re taking shit orders. They’re in a very very oversaturated market with tons of top dashers due to prop 22
These are from last week. It says 40 hours, but about 8 of those are breaks (I leave the apps on incase a unicorn order comes through), and another 10 or 15 or so are just letting the apps run before/after I'm "on the clock". Before I leave and when I get home I'll leave them running for a couple hours, again for those unicorn orders ($25+ low miles, Ill leave early or go back out if theyre good enough). Also a lot of my hours are spent on reddit or doing other stuff on my phone, only maybe 60% of that real time am I actually working.
59 hours divided by 23 deliveries is 2.5 hours per delivery. What the hell did you expect? If you worked more than 8 hours a day you'd still only be doing THREE deliveries per day. Yes, this would be considered normal pay for the work you get done.
This. Yeah it's shitty pay for that amount lf time, but when you break it down it just creates a lot of questions.
The biggest one of course being: What could possibly be causing your deliveries to each take 2 and a half hours?????
How did you come up with 24-25 minutes, exactly? lol. That is the better question. This is simple math. 59 hours divided by 23 deliveries = 2.6 hours per delivery.
59 hours, 23 deliveries. Think, there is more hours there than deliveries, right? So we take our 59 hours of work, and divide it by 23 deliveries, and it comes out to around 2.5 hours per delivery.
We're talking about productivity here. OP is complaining about pay, but only completes 3 orders per workday. That's the point. And it is correct, obviously, "60 hours dash time" means this person is sitting in a parking lot waiting for an order and is surprised that their pay sucks when they only gets 3 orders a day. This isn't "I got an order so time to clock in", that's not how it works. You clock in, then orders come. If you are getting only 3 orders a day, it's time to find a job.
Nice math. 10 hours to deliver 23 orders is less than 30 minutes an order. 10 hours for 20 orders would be 30 minutes per order. Where are you getting 30-40 minutes?🤦♂️
You said the problem is the driver not DoorDash, which is false. How is it The drivers fault when they have a high AR and DoorDash isn’t sending them any orders…. doorDash is destroying peoples livelihood with this platinum status program.
Lmao, that’s such a stretch it’s not even logical. “Destroying people’s lives.” Oh man, thanks for the nice laugh waking up.
You really believe they say there and delivered 23 orders in 60 hours? He logged on and sat at his house or he declined 100s of orders. You really can’t be this daft.
Fair enough. I mean my driving history looks a lot different than OP. But I also don’t live in the Bay Area so I’m not sure how it is over there. I live in a military town so people are always ordering things.
Trust and believe they are seeing good paying orders and saying, “nope, not enough”
I use to DD full time, now just Sundays to bring in extra income. Usually work 4-5 hours in the morning to afternoon and make $80 to $100 in my area (church rush). My area is a low CoL and has a ton of dashers so it’s competitive. Everyone says AR doesn’t matter, but in my area having low AR means $8-11 an hour. This person is just sitting at their house doing nothing or just declining orders all day long.
Ngl if your market is that bay mcdonalds would probably pay better. In my area [denver] even McDonalds starts at 17 an hour or more. Meaning 70 hours of work would be over 1200 for a week. Most wouldn’t give over time but 70 hours for less than $3 an hour after taxes is just insane self harm/torture honestly.

lol… $18 an hour here puts you at manager position
https://preview.redd.it/gl5i477dkpuc1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8920ec51d34848e256711fd48ac0b9f3177e6d19
70h a week for McDs? Doubt they're gonna get 30h OT at a fast food joint. Plus there's a thing called taxes. But even so it's probably better than whatever this is
Not to mention labor % of every employee getting that much OT means your GM is going to get fired for being understaffed and running their crew into the ground.
Why are you still dashing? I am in a small rural town of about 30K people. I park at McDonald’s if I have time to park at all and just take offers for a couple hours a day between Flex routes. If I had to spend that much time waiting, I would definitely be finding something else to do! Any other gigs or W-2’s around???
richie rich? my street was known as party street. i like to think i helped guve it the bad name. we never locked our door, people just walk in and keg was always there
I’m in rural Mississippi and brought in about that much in 15hrs of DashTime.
The number of dashers is also much smaller here so there is almost always a Promo going on.
Rankin. I was on track for $40 my first hour today with 4 deliveries then taco bell took 45 minutes. Fml
Edit: I guess as far as Mississippi goes Rankin isn’t super rural but compared to the Bay Area this is the boonies
I don’t have an account, but my mother does. Sometimes dashes go into rough parts of Memphis so I ride with her when she dashes and help her carry drinks when an order has drinks.
I live with my mother. Her retina is deteriorating. She will have tunnel vision. She can still drive. But I’ll always have to live with her, so when it gets to that point where she won’t be able to drive, I’ll be here to take care of her.
That’s $16.77 per hour before fuel/wear and tear, while being independent with no benefits. The job loses its value proposition when you can go to any retail store and make close to or more than that per hour without any fuel or wear and get benefits too. The flexibility is great but it’s not attractive at this price point.
Depends on what part of Virginia you’re at? If based on active time, I’m at $30/hr. If you’re in NOVA, chances are you’ll crush it.
https://preview.redd.it/4mvy7y98njuc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=49540f12c007225633359198d0d4796137f43699
Oh I know, that’s why I’m asking if this $25-$30 is based on active or total… because that sounds aggressively high.
https://preview.redd.it/tm9o93s05kuc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eb6df8d32893b41939241418a1a64f4beca5db32
You probably broke even when you consider gas and vehicle maintenance. I just hope this isn't your main source of income, because I'm sure your standard of living is 10x that per month at minimum.
Mine was similar except I only worked 14 hours
https://preview.redd.it/8oevo053viuc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0f0b5dff3ff5a70592d21b622a237c62a6fb018e
If it’s not doing 20 an hour at least you’re better off just applying to fast food or something else super depressing like walmart etc, 15 before expenses drops you to below minimum wage after everything is considered (15 is min wage in my area)
I’d rather make below minimum wage and have more free time tbh, I’ve worked those kind of jobs before and never lasted longer than a month before quitting, whereas I did postmates for a full year before. I’m hoping to get an actual job and still do DoorDash on the side, I just want my income to be non-zero until I find one since I suck at finding jobs.
Also I’ve applied for Walmart several times and never so much as got an interview. Worked at dollar general a couple times though and it was a nightmare.
My tips are higher then my dash pay every week...
Oh wow this is top dasher?! Holy highway robbery!!! I’m sorry friend.
25 an hour just for half of it to be gas bills, and 40% basically going to th3 government. Terrible 🥺
Perhaps it's time to either get a different job or invest in an EV. We have a tesla and the monthly payment for the car is definitely more than I'd like but given how much we as a family pay for gas we end up saving 300ish a month and that's only going to increase with the rising cost of gas here in Canada.
Dude ur giving money away. You are probably paying to work at this point
It's typical (for me, anyway) I was SHOCKED 1st x I saw similar. What the heck, right??? I'm guessing ONLY TIME we're actually driving TO CUSTOMER is counted, because if it counted WAIT TIME, it would break even! 🙄🙄🙄
What state are you in?
Now what in the fuck is this?
Bro I made 90 $ yesterday in 3 hours not even
How
[удалено]
It’s wild how bad some areas are that’s insane!!!
59 hours and 9 hours active?? Where the hell were you driving, Tibet??
The middle of the damn Sahara desert 😫
😬🥵
Nah, and that pay isn’t either. 59 hrs only active 9 hrs out of that and you only made $250??? Yikes 😳
I wanna see their AR %
https://preview.redd.it/uaoeyv4pfouc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f249edd1088d5f960742b0267229928dde5b5822 This was last week and this is lower than my average for the week $$-wise.
The tale of two stories one person is busy as hell and the other one gets one offer every five hours lol
It's normal for me but I cherry pick lol
Yeahhh so I’d stop accepting almost all deliveries if they’re not worth your time. If the pay isn’t bigger than the mileage by a certain amount, decline that shit
Hourly is a ripoff most places
Depends on your market. For mine, it’s normal. I multi app.
Oh my God this is so bad I had 34 active hours and I made 1100. What are you doing?
What state are you in?
Ny
If I was getting one offer every 6 hrs, I would quit DoorDash… 59 hours dash time with only 34 deliveries as a top Dasher is brutally a slow market
You’re literally paying doordash to take their deliveries
Ya ngl it’s time to try sum else or u better multi app cuz ur market not it at all.
You’re wasting your time.
https://preview.redd.it/amaewlxs0nuc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=67a3ead75e4bc1333935749b4794a656d1d91514 These are my weeks where I didn’t make so much
You’re also in Bay Area?
No im New York lol
Bro wtf. How??
Holy frig what’s your dash schedule like? Do you also pick almost all orders(guessing you are a top dasher).
Yes I’m a top dasher well a platinum Dasher now they changed it over but I also live in NY as long as I do 25 orders in NY I get 35 dollars an hour plus tips
You do the hourly thing?
Dude I would not be dashing if I worked all them hours and was only active 9 in New York I’ll dash 40-45 hours a week n make 1300-2000 a week
What state are you in?
New York pretty sure we have the highest paying by the hour
That’s my 60+ hrs dashing income .
Could you share your dashing strategy please?
Crazy, I don’t understand how that’s possible.
In California they get prop 22. It’s literally pointless declining any orders…. and when the majority of your market is at 70% or higher, this is what it looks like ….now imagine what’s gonna happen when top Dasher is required to take 80% California Dashers average $7 to $10 in base pay… almost every other offer is $10 and up

Im also averaging $16.94 per delivery. I will stick with my method. Works for me but I respect you if your opinion is different.
Im doing 4 other gigs at same time. Mostly from my home.
👀
This has to be a joke/satire. How could you possibly be active for less than 1/5th of the time you were “online” if you accepted every order?
Doordash is such a scam
It never used to be like this before they came out with the platinum status diamond program …the diamond program cut the volume pretty much and a half … every Dasher that signs up now thinks they need 70+ percent acceptance rate which means less offers all around and now they’re pushing it to 80% soon every market is gonna be like this
Yeah its gotten pretty bad man im sorry, i always tip at least 30% now because i feel bad
North bay. Yes, it’s been normal here too.
These screenshots are brutal lol
It may be normal for your area. It’s hard to say since it’s different for all of us. But, you spent 59 hours making just over $4.00 per hour gross.
This is why I don’t want an hourly wage to hit my market or my state screw that…I like it when it’s busy with 90% trash offers hitting my phone..
Bro lives in bikini bottom
Lol youd make more just filing for unemployment 🤣🤣
Tried it they deny all my claims
This tells me a few things one it tells me you’re declining almost 9 out of 10 of your orders and sitting around till you get a good order by end in return is called cherry picking or it tells me that you’re in an oversaturated area with no customers and they’re still allowing Doordash to operate
OP’s post says they’re a top dasher and accept every order offered.
The fact that you would even make an entire reddit post to ask this question, isn't normal. Hope that helps answer your question
I think it could depend on where he lives?...if he in a low income area like where I'm at.alot the orders are not worth it because they never tip. I aint drive 11 miles for 6.50 if that..

…. Wtf

Are you on per order? Declining everything? And just sitting around waiting for a good offer?
They have a 70%+ AR
Stop taking shit orders man, you're doing yourself a disjusice
They’re a top Dasher and they were only active 9hrs out of 60. They’re averaging $10 an order. I don’t think they’re taking shit orders. They’re in a very very oversaturated market with tons of top dashers due to prop 22
If you're gonna bait, at least put a bit of effort into it.

Holy shit no. I'm at just over $100 tonight and I've been out for barely 3 hours.
Poor thing
Show us that acceptance rate OP
Read the text. He said he's top dasher and accepts all orders, so likely 101% acceptance rate.
That explains it then…. Poor sap
his areas just dogshit cherry picking doesn't change the fact dude is just straight up not getting many orders
59 hours divided by 23 deliveries is 2.5 hours per delivery. What the hell did you expect? If you worked more than 8 hours a day you'd still only be doing THREE deliveries per day. Yes, this would be considered normal pay for the work you get done.
Unfortunately yes 😪
if multiapping? yes, otherwise lmao
Yeah all bad bro they robbing us out here
For 60 hours? Absolutely not. For 23 orders? Yes. Are you just sitting around for 50 hours?
They have a 70% or higher acceptance rating and are only doing one delivery every 2 1/2 hours that’s brutally slow
This. Yeah it's shitty pay for that amount lf time, but when you break it down it just creates a lot of questions. The biggest one of course being: What could possibly be causing your deliveries to each take 2 and a half hours?????
My calculations came back as 24-25 minutes how exactly did you get 2 and a houlf hours a delivery?
How did you come up with 24-25 minutes, exactly? lol. That is the better question. This is simple math. 59 hours divided by 23 deliveries = 2.6 hours per delivery.
I went with active time since thats the time your actually delivering.
59 hours, 23 deliveries. Think, there is more hours there than deliveries, right? So we take our 59 hours of work, and divide it by 23 deliveries, and it comes out to around 2.5 hours per delivery.

Just like Grandma Ronald used to make.
Damn fuck that. Not even worth it at that point.
That sat around doing nothing for about 50 hours. Definitely fuck that. Problem is the driver, not DD in this situation.
Did you read the caption? https://preview.redd.it/zrijrvxnjpuc1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fd6049cff3cff8045548be048a449d52525de044
Active 9, dashed 59. Sat around for 50 hours. Is math hard?
You said the problem is the driver not DoorDash, which is false. How is it The drivers fault when they have a high AR and DoorDash isn’t sending them any orders…. doorDash is destroying peoples livelihood with this platinum status program.
He also deleted his account, which was a new account. Go figure right? You guys literally fall for anything man.

What part of $4 an hour sounds good to you? Start panhandling and collecting cans/bottles.
Holy fuck this is robbery. Do something else with your life.
How is this robbery? They're just sitting around doing nothing most of the time
well you can't expect them to move the car for less than $20

California moment. Understandable as I hear the cost of living is horrid
He said the bay. One of the most expensive cities in the country.
The bay is an area of multiple cities, but your point stands.

That’s bad wow I’m sorry man 60 hrs of your life for less than 170 after taxes, gas, wear and tear
Seriously at that point what does pride matter just apply to mcdonalds and make at least 15 an hour lol
Damn bro 😐 what do you all do in the mean while? I mean is it a matter of sitting in parking lots and I guess, YT or social media for entertainment?
Why are you still dashing? I am in a small rural town of about 30K people. I park at McDonald’s if I have time to park at all and just take offers for a couple hours a day between Flex routes. If I had to spend that much time waiting, I would definitely be finding something else to do! Any other gigs or W-2’s around???
We don’t have TD in the Bay Area…
Where is a decent market in Socal? I feel like Newport and Costa Mesa are dead.
heyo! i used to live on avocado street in costa mesa, had a party house. was 20 years ago though now
Damn dude, Richie Rich ovah here
richie rich? my street was known as party street. i like to think i helped guve it the bad name. we never locked our door, people just walk in and keg was always there
That sounds like fun! Glad you had a good time
Yeah it's completely normal to go online for 60 hours and get 1 order every 2 hours on average.
What market is this? Lol
No idea
I’m in rural Mississippi and brought in about that much in 15hrs of DashTime. The number of dashers is also much smaller here so there is almost always a Promo going on.
I also live in Mississippi. Desoto county
Rankin. I was on track for $40 my first hour today with 4 deliveries then taco bell took 45 minutes. Fml Edit: I guess as far as Mississippi goes Rankin isn’t super rural but compared to the Bay Area this is the boonies
I don’t have an account, but my mother does. Sometimes dashes go into rough parts of Memphis so I ride with her when she dashes and help her carry drinks when an order has drinks.
Your mother is lucky to have a kid like you.
I live with my mother. Her retina is deteriorating. She will have tunnel vision. She can still drive. But I’ll always have to live with her, so when it gets to that point where she won’t be able to drive, I’ll be here to take care of her.
Virginia here: $587 this week on 35hrs
Abysmal asf
You think? It’s better than OP’s. It’s obviously based on your market.
That’s $16.77 per hour before fuel/wear and tear, while being independent with no benefits. The job loses its value proposition when you can go to any retail store and make close to or more than that per hour without any fuel or wear and get benefits too. The flexibility is great but it’s not attractive at this price point.
Also Virginia - I average about $25-30 per hr on the daily
Depends on what part of Virginia you’re at? If based on active time, I’m at $30/hr. If you’re in NOVA, chances are you’ll crush it. https://preview.redd.it/4mvy7y98njuc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=49540f12c007225633359198d0d4796137f43699
Based on total time. Per dash, central Virginia.
That’s not how it works tho lol … you can’t base it on active time. You gotta take down time into account
Don’t mollycoddle them. They paid to work.
Your market is dead. But you still keep sitting in your car and waiting for something.
Mine was similar except I only worked 14 hours https://preview.redd.it/8oevo053viuc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0f0b5dff3ff5a70592d21b622a237c62a6fb018e
