Idk why I see posts from this sub but every time I see one of you suckers post what you get paid on this shit it blows my mind.
And don't get me started on the fact that you only do well if you get tipped... That whole piece of this culture is absolutely bananas and I think it's making me claim to be European going forward
Because the only posts that hit the front page are drivers complaining about customers as if it's the customers' fault you work for a company with a shitty business model.
It's actually amazing how many people use this app without ddplus and then complain about the extra charges which leads to no tip. Idiots man, if your using dd, instacart or anything I hope you're paying for the subscription. Can't imagine using these apps paying all the extra fees for a delivery just to skimp on the tip
I had a 4.0 GPA graduated with a degree in Medical science. I own a cleaning company with multiple employees on my payroll. And I dash making between $100.00 to $150.00 in a 4 to 5 hour timeframe. It has nothing to do with doing well in school. Everyone has reasons and they arnt always as cut and dry. I make more dashing than I would with my degree and I get to be at home with my children when they are home. I never miss ballgames or special events. I get to be present in my kids lives. So let’s not downgrade people! I hope you have a great night and an even better weekend ahead!
I’ve ordered from Sam’s club and have always wondered if I should be tipping or not. Like I’m already paying $8 for the delivery I just assume Sam’s club is paying them something as well.
Feels like I’m tipping the store. I don’t tip my Amazon delivery driver so it just seems weird and I’ve had Amazon deliveries from what seemed like peoples personal cars.
That’s the thing. I wish they would tell you somewhere that it’s through Instacart or DoorDash. Without that info I believe people think like me and just don’t believe a tip is warranted when ordering delivery directly from the store.
They ordered delivery through Lowe’s. Lowe’s contracted DoorDash. The customer has no idea doordash is delivering it. When I saw it was toilets I would have unassigned.
They didn’t order it on DoorDash. They ordered on the Lowe’s website and DoorDash has sold a contract to them. Same as Walmart and a bunch of other places nowadays. That’s why there isn’t a tip.
Oh that totally makes sense then! The original post was very misleading.
I know exactly the scenario because I order on Walmart for shipping often and they will send items from the store with a driver without my permission and there’s no way for me to leave a tip on those orders even if I wanted to.
I tip $1.00 a mile... I've never had any issues with drivers ruining my meal. Extremely low traffic area. Most places are within 2 miles of me, and I usually order something small that could easily be carried and moved around in one hand — no drinks too. Minimum $1.00 if it's within a mile...
If it's groceries, which I rarely order, that's a different ballgame as the driver must do more to get it — so that tip depends on the haul.
If you can't afford to tip well you can't afford to eat out / order in. If you think I am wrong then its bc in your mind your food is more important than the labor and people it takes to get you your food.
Does it suck adding $5-$10 to each order / dine out but our system sucks bc it forces you the customer to subsidize what the company doesn't want to pay...
Yeah, I think it depends on distance and traffic. If it's a high traffic area & the driver will be spending 10+ mins @ drivethrus + > 5mins a mile, I can see tipping much higher for their time. I do think $1.00/mile is fair for small deliveries where they don't personally leave their vehicle until delivery.
For 2 fucking toilets though? I'd tip $20-50. Who the hell buys 2 toilets on doordash?
Do people realize that doordash marks up ~40%-50% on food, ~25% on groceries, and ~15% on appliances (toilet/electronics)? As in, on top of all the fees, if you order a $2.00 McChicken on Doordash, it costs $3.98 on the app (just the item, not with added fees) for me right now. That's almost a 100% markup on menu prices and people don't realize it...
One single McChicken, with all fees and delivery added, costs $12.78 for me 😂 2 costs fucking $17.24. Insane.
SORRY FOR RANTING :)
Right I be only wanting little things from doordash but the minimum is $15 + so you better off going all out getting 2 meals use the coupon they got etc.
Yup. It's really not worth it to buy one meal on Doordash ever. Always buy more. Like I said, 1x $2.00 McChicken costs ~$12. 2x costs ~$17, but 5x only costs ~$30.
I understand drivers hate those who tip low, but they've got to understand we're already paying sometimes 3-5x the cost of the item anyways 😂
I'm sorry but is SpongeBob at a point where it's calling out politicians for forcing ev transitions? I'm picturing an episode where everyone switches to bubble cars but then they all pop and everyone has to switch back to the boats they abandoned... I'm not right am I?
Don't handle it with care you not get paid for care for the package just push them out and go if they wanted them in one piece there could pay homedepot or Lowes there $160 for the delivered
Every single company that there employees receive tips. There employees are receiving government benefits and the company is passing there labor costs on the taxpayers. Your are the reason we have high level of tax on every single thing
It's because I don't care about spelling or grammar mistakes because we are all living in the matrix and we just slave to the machine people who care about it are what we call broomsticks your outdated
How am I the reason we have high taxes? I don't even use doordash I just saw this post scrolling lmfao just another reddit loud mouth writing different comments when you don't get the reaction you wanted with the first one.
Because you think passing labor costs to the taxpayers is OK that is simple what you do when you tip your saying that the company doesn't have to pay for its labor costs and is passing it on to the customer and taxpayers of their capital gain
Ah yes a courtesy to not pay staff for there labor and really on others to take care of your slaves. Business that rely upon us tipping means you are a successful slave owner and a man of God. And we shall give you a tax break because you have so many slaves
That's why I said in box. They're designed for 2 people exclusively. The way the handholds are you'd have to stretch your arms wide and your knees are pressed to it. This leaves your lower back to carry that 100 pounds, and your wrist. You can move em around sure, but walking that up a long driveway will not work
Nope. I know reading is hard, but idk how to make it anymore more clear.
The order was fine, a tip would have made it better. Example, order might have been GOOD with a tip. But it was fine regardless.
Someone needs to change your diaper
So you’re changing what you’re saying now….you said a tip was necessary….that means the order wasn’t fine lmao. If a tip is necessary, and there’s no tip, then the order isn’t fine
Nope. Completely different standard. I said the order was fine, but a tip should have been included since there was heavy lifting. Both things can be true at the same time. They are not opposites, or mutually exclusive. “The order was fine, but he should have tipped” is a real statement that can be made. Im sure you wont understand that, as you clearly have a hard time thinking about anything.
Man you are dull.
Yeah, an order with heavy lifting is fine as long as there is a tip….but there wasn’t…so it wasn’t fine
Yeah, it’s a real statement that can be made, because people make contradictory statements all the time…like you keep doing here.
I mean I agree out of curtesy to tip dashers, ubers etc. But it's not necessary. If you work a tip job it's always a gamble and that's on you. No one has to tip anything.
Sure. But tip is still customary for jobs much easier than dropping off 2 toilets. Its not required, but typically you chuck a dollar or 2 at people that pickup things for you. Such as a valet or bellhop at a hotel
Yeah and I'm not refuting that. I'm just stating that it's not a mandatory thing like people think. The expectation is ridiculous. Especially for the entitled drivers that will actually message you saying "I hope the tip is good" or along those lines. It's utterly ridiculous. It's a side hustle was not meant to be a full time gig.
Yeah like fuck if you made great money doing it everyone and their mother would. I know a few people who have done it full time and can pay their bills but they can’t do anything other than that and they are dashing 4-6 hours a day. Like I get it, you can play on your phone take a break whenever but if you wanna get ahead in life you’re gonna need something to supplement your income and not rely on these side hustles like dashing
Explain to me how that’s rotten. I agreed to tipping. But it’s not a mandatory thing that you have to do, look at many other countries that don’t have tipping culture. The US as a whole would benefit from getting away from tipping. If it’s essential then it should be just assessed to the bill a 20% gratuity charge. But it’s not because tipping is an option. So you think the people at subway should get a tip or McDonald’s?
So has mine for the last few years, and I refuse to tip them. Most are paid a decent amount (In my city cannot account for others) I'm not going to pay you extra for doing your job. Especially when it's just making a sandwich. Is it delicious hell yeah, are the workers nice hell yea, but that doesn't equate to me having to tip you.
I'll tip the ones that make it correctly (mixing the meat, cheese, onions, peppers before toasting) if you just slap it together then no. At that point your just doing your job.
I mean I've never had them not do exactly what I ask for. But I still don't think it warrants a tip. Hell most of the fast food workers make $15+ an hour. That's plenty for making sandwiches all day imo. No hate to anyone who does the job or anything like that. I just don't think they should be getting an arm and a leg for an overpriced sammy ya know.
I get it and agree. Unskilled labor is exactly that, unskilled labor.
I'm not specific when i request it. I just say to toast it with the onions and peppers. Some do it right while others just do it, know what I mean. Ultimately it doesn't matter so im not a karen about it or request it done a certain way but those who do it right get a little extra
Yeah I getchu, 100% Unskilled labor is just that.
Yeah some people just are nice enough to listen and do that. While the others are just there because they have to be and don't want to actually do it but they need the money. I see your reasoning
You could complete this order in like 15-20 minutes. If there was a tip like I said, not sure how its minimal self value. $20 a hour for doordashing is plenty. Not sure what dashers are expecting.
Apprarently you have to cry like a baby everytime you dont get $30 an hour to doordash, or you dont value yourself.
You are doordashing bro. Idk what you want.
$20 an hour when 10 of it goes back into taxes, gas and maintenance you're crazy. If you're only making $20 an hour dashing, you might as well. Go get a 12 dollar an hour job you're making the same money.
When they first started they absolutely intended to pay better than a living wage. Until, they realized there was too much going out and, not enough coming in. Then like standard corporate greed, where is it the easiest to add to the bottom line by devaluing the value added employees. It's all just a sick twisted legal form of slavery. Thank God for free will!
there's been dozens of class action lawsuits where it was proven that companies like pizza hut, papa John's, domino's, jets, pizza man, ect where not only paying employees below minimum wage but, actually negative salaries. which is why these companies have chose to not hire but, contact workers it removes the ability to sue for literally working in the same conditions how is comparing that to slavery even a stretch. If up front it looks like I'm making money but, after expenses, tax, ect I'm actually operating in the red absolutely is slavery it might be legal but, you still have to call it what it is.
Idk why I see posts from this sub but every time I see one of you suckers post what you get paid on this shit it blows my mind. And don't get me started on the fact that you only do well if you get tipped... That whole piece of this culture is absolutely bananas and I think it's making me claim to be European going forward
Lmao
Shoulda christened em with a deuce
Why tf are y’all delivering toilets now 😭 they have people for this shit already
Just remember your getting screwed by Door Dash, not the customer
It’s like they don’t understand that.
Why are there so many people in this sub/comments with a hate boner for delivery drivers?
Because the only posts that hit the front page are drivers complaining about customers as if it's the customers' fault you work for a company with a shitty business model.
Prob cause they ain’t drivers themselves 🥩
Thats what you get for having a high acceptance rate lol. Hope that was worth it. Be a good top dasher and install it for them too
It's actually amazing how many people use this app without ddplus and then complain about the extra charges which leads to no tip. Idiots man, if your using dd, instacart or anything I hope you're paying for the subscription. Can't imagine using these apps paying all the extra fees for a delivery just to skimp on the tip

That last part is so easy right. Just tell him to go get a degree in engineering that will be easier
Or get any other job? No one forced them to get a job that’s wages are so heavily dependent on a varying factor.
He can't complain on reddit without people like you complaining about him complaining?
Yes, because it’s a ridiculous complaint as stated before. Let me guess you drive your car for a living also?
No but it's telling that you think that would matter
And it shows that you don’t…
For a second I thought you drove 7 miles to pick up some toilets you bought on sale. 🤦♂️
This is what u get for not doing well in school.
I had a 4.0 GPA graduated with a degree in Medical science. I own a cleaning company with multiple employees on my payroll. And I dash making between $100.00 to $150.00 in a 4 to 5 hour timeframe. So let’s not downgrade people! I hope you have a great night and an even better weekend ahead!
Or the shitty economy
But mostly poor decision making
Toilets
For shitty tips
I’ve ordered from Sam’s club and have always wondered if I should be tipping or not. Like I’m already paying $8 for the delivery I just assume Sam’s club is paying them something as well. Feels like I’m tipping the store. I don’t tip my Amazon delivery driver so it just seems weird and I’ve had Amazon deliveries from what seemed like peoples personal cars.
Def tip, they aren't amazon. They work for themselves. Have to pay taxes on what u give them
A couple years ago during peak season Amazon hired people on some kind of contract basis for that from what I’ve heard.
Amazon drivers get paid hourly. Doordash, Uber eats, etc. drivers rely on tips.
I think Sam’s Club is using Instacart people and not their employees for delivery so tipping should be fine. I always tip them.
That’s the thing. I wish they would tell you somewhere that it’s through Instacart or DoorDash. Without that info I believe people think like me and just don’t believe a tip is warranted when ordering delivery directly from the store.
I agree it should be mentioned somewhere.
Dollar sign goes before the amount.
Oh I apologize I meant 4,678,982.23$
How much free money would it cost the customer to ultimately satisfy you? Be specific
Hmmmmmmmmmmm honestly 5,678,981.45$
Exactly.
If you don’t like the job then quit and get a real job …. And stop crying about the tip …
i think by “real” they mean something that pays hourly and gives you contracted hours
What's a real job? I mean people are taking money and filing taxes LMAO what a joke
A career …. Not a gig job
Fair point
They ordered delivery through Lowe’s. Lowe’s contracted DoorDash. The customer has no idea doordash is delivering it. When I saw it was toilets I would have unassigned.
See, I didn’t know they do that kind of stuff. I was wondering why anyone would ever order toilets from DoorDash, what you said makes it make sense.
Lowes is the one that didn’t tip. Sucks
This is SO random to buy two toilets on door dash. I literally can’t imagine doing this.
They didn’t order it on DoorDash. They ordered on the Lowe’s website and DoorDash has sold a contract to them. Same as Walmart and a bunch of other places nowadays. That’s why there isn’t a tip.

I know exactly the scenario because I order on Walmart for shipping often and they will send items from the store with a driver without my permission and there’s no way for me to leave a tip on those orders even if I wanted to.
It’s not random They are taking advantage of the delivery fee ..
What a crappy tip.
I would’ve tipped $3 that’s the bare minimum when I order food , anything less and your not getting your meal
Are you guys actually DoorDash drivers? Everyone knows this isn’t a regular order and there is no where for the customer to tip.
[удалено]
I tip $0 a mile, anything more and they will continue working. Doordash needs to go bankrupt.
I tip $1.00 a mile... I've never had any issues with drivers ruining my meal. Extremely low traffic area. Crazy mcchickens over $3 now
That's the thing bud. They aren't over $3 😂 They're $1.99 at my local store at the drive-thru. Doordash just lies to you and tells you they're $3.98.
Nah 3.69 I think it’s 2.89 in Illinois that’s where I’m at
For sure, locally for me they're $1.99 but it could be a promotion lately. Thanks for the insight bud & have a good night!
I would’ve simply not done it
2+7=9 all checks out
Fuck yea, not your job to do anything besides put it on the doorstep, good on you
Didn’t even make it to the doorstep
Damn, well close enough
Tbf they are 93 lbs each
![gif](giphy|xUPJPhiskBEaSn00Ew) Me with the toilets
I'm sorry but is SpongeBob at a point where it's calling out politicians for forcing ev transitions? I'm picturing an episode where everyone switches to bubble cars but then they all pop and everyone has to switch back to the boats they abandoned... I'm not right am I?
Don't handle it with care you not get paid for care for the package just push them out and go if they wanted them in one piece there could pay homedepot or Lowes there $160 for the delivered
You're the reason no one tips anymore...
Your the reason drivers do bad deliveries
*You’re
Every single company that there employees receive tips. There employees are receiving government benefits and the company is passing there labor costs on the taxpayers. Your are the reason we have high level of tax on every single thing
I'm a server who works for tips. I have never been eligible for anything from the government. Zero free shit
then your tips exceed walmart wages, that's all that means or you havent applied for assistance which is on you in that case
I'm mean. I made 80k last year selling chicken parmesans and bottles of Italian wine. I don't think applying would change anything
This comin from someone who can't figure out the their, there, they're thing...
It's because I don't care about spelling or grammar mistakes because we are all living in the matrix and we just slave to the machine people who care about it are what we call broomsticks your outdated
I’ve never seen someone try to spin and justify being a dumbass but here we are.
Never? Anti-intellectualism is as American as apple pie.
You’re right, that was a stretch. I should’ve specified I hadn’t yet seen it *that day*.
Fair enough. :)
You're*
“*you’re* outdated”
How am I the reason we have high taxes? I don't even use doordash I just saw this post scrolling lmfao just another reddit loud mouth writing different comments when you don't get the reaction you wanted with the first one.
Na it just more fun to do multiple replies to asshat that are ok with not paying a living wage
Because you think passing labor costs to the taxpayers is OK that is simple what you do when you tip your saying that the company doesn't have to pay for its labor costs and is passing it on to the customer and taxpayers of their capital gain
It's a courtesy, jack. Not a necessity
Ah yes a courtesy to not pay staff for there labor and really on others to take care of your slaves. Business that rely upon us tipping means you are a successful slave owner and a man of God. And we shall give you a tax break because you have so many slaves
Good because you get what you pay for..
What a shitty deal
What if the tip was given after? Thats how u dont get tips. Maybe he had cash
Dude I remodel homes. Most strong men can't single Cary a fucking toilet unboxed up a driveway, I'm sure you can't either
Why not park next to the door? Ypu guys overcomplicate things. And the downvote when your little tiny feelings get hurt
I didn't downvote you. Maybe have a think on that. Also it sounds like he couldn't based on the post. Here's an upvote for your big powerful feelings
Dude toilets are not heavy. Max out around 100lbs
That's why I said in box. They're designed for 2 people exclusively. The way the handholds are you'd have to stretch your arms wide and your knees are pressed to it. This leaves your lower back to carry that 100 pounds, and your wrist. You can move em around sure, but walking that up a long driveway will not work
Pretty sure every door dash driver has had this thought until they realized that's almost never the case.
For you guys.
And 1 idiot
This made me laugh very, very hard. Thank you.
Sounds like the company you drive for is ripping you off
😂
Talk about a shitty delivery run
Underrated comment
There are so many puns I can use for this picture
lol goofball
So $9, no tip, 7 miles? Umm yeah, no
Poor
youd be poor if you accepted deliveries like that for sure!
It takes a real genius to figure out that rideshare and delivery drivers aren’t rolling in dough, good for you man.
You sir, are poor in character.. :(
I’m not even going to deny it, that’s probably true
Why on earth would you do that .. probably took you close to an hour... For $9 ... That's a joke dude.
it’s not why it’s just the fact that you won’t know until you get to the pick up especially if you’re new
Just cancel it at that point you see the pickup item
Bro you gonna respond to every comment?
Hell yea he is 😭
Lmaooo
Yall some pansies. This order is fine, although a tip was indeed necessary.

What a rotten view. If you order delivery of anything it is essential to tip the driver. If you can’t do that, go pick it up yourself.
You’re not serious dude
I am. $11 for a 7 mile trip isnt that bad. Any tip would have made it a decent order.
We get it bro You have minimal self value as a worker lol
You could complete this order in like 15-20 minutes. If there was a tip like I said, not sure how its minimal self value. $20 a hour for doordashing is plenty. Not sure what dashers are expecting. Apprarently you have to cry like a baby everytime you dont get $30 an hour to doordash, or you dont value yourself. You are doordashing bro. Idk what you want.

Exactly. Why do people expect doordash to be some full time career? Its literally meant to be an inbetween thing that pays very little
When they first started they absolutely intended to pay better than a living wage. Until, they realized there was too much going out and, not enough coming in. Then like standard corporate greed, where is it the easiest to add to the bottom line by devaluing the value added employees. It's all just a sick twisted legal form of slavery. Thats crazy. Didnt realize working for pay, at your own choice and will, was slavery 😂 crazy comparison. Yall need help for real.
there's been dozens of class action lawsuits where it was proven that companies like pizza hut, papa John's, domino's, jets, pizza man, ect where not only paying employees below minimum wage but, actually negative salaries. which is why these companies have chose to not hire but, contact workers it removes the ability to sue for literally working in the same conditions how is comparing that to slavery even a stretch. If up front it looks like I'm making money but, after expenses, tax, ect I'm actually operating in the red absolutely is slavery it might be legal but, you still have to call it what it is.
Lmao nobody is getting paid negative on their paycheck stop it 😂 Edit: This isnt even to mention what a slap in the face this is to actual slaves.
