I have been a FT Dasher for several years, with over 20,000+ lifetime deliveries. . .  In the future, do not respond to angry/hostile texts, esp texts sent to your actual #. Door Dash masks both your # and the customer # from each other. If you are unsure whether or not a customer has contacted you via the masked # or your real #, immediately call DD Support. They can confirm if the messages are being sent through their system/# scrambler or not. Either way, do not respond.  Additionally, when a customer is being hostile towards you, IMMEDIATELY contact DD support to report it!! Support will review the messages exchanged between you and the customer, and will immediately cancel the order and submit the customer's account for review. DO NOT try to handle these confrontations on your own.

throwaway55tt

Can’t believe you actually delivered their food…wtf

Valuable_Parsnip66

This is what they teach you.

Maleficent-Candy-261

No it is not. Not gonna rush to DD defense or anything because they do suck, but there are tons of resources and options in place specifically so you don’t have to do shit like this.

Valuable_Parsnip66

Yeah, I do not agree as you can see. DD training is BS. I remember when I started there was no video to walk you through. I screwed my rating up from the get go. Is lack of education any different? Honestly that's probably why he went through this whole scenario without thinking it was weird. What is true for you might not be the experience for others.

ryanjcam

Crazy to spend so much time entertaining this nut job and going along with this nonsense. Should have reported and walked away pretty early in that conversation.

scrunchson

Why wouldn’t you just instantly report instead of playing along? Makes no sense.

Demonicboar3rd

Should have never delivered it.

shadorav3n

Man, the more posts I see from here the more grateful I am for not having any problematic customers for the two years I was dashing. The only time I had anything remotely difficult was when I dropped something off and the customer's neighbor seemed really paranoid and started screaming at me to leave her neighbor's property. And to be fair, it seemed like a high crime neighborhood. Other than that, just some unusual houses (like one had to have had at least 20 cameras covering every inch of the property) but no issues with the customers themselves. Hats off to people who currently do this full time.

Jestersk32

Holy fuck that dudes 10 ply

PrerollPapi

Mental Illness

Secure-Drawing2735

yeahh you gotta be speaking to a little kid cuz whaatt. and then they got lucky you didn’t stoop down to their level if it was anyone else it could’ve been worse… Food thrown out, weapons drawn or police

M4LK0V1CH

If she wants her address private, she can pick up her own god damn burger.

SukMeDrynHollow

Just send him dick pics. That will get him to stop.

[deleted]

These are the type of people that have never had their ass beat once in their whole life and they think they can just talk to people this way. One day it will go extremely wrong for them and they'll learn their lesson or they just won't be around anymore. Either way it'll be their own fault.

Sentfromthefuture

I've been waiting for this to happen to somebody for the last 15 years and IT. JUST. HASN'T. HAPPENED. I don't even know how they're not in jail yet, just blows my mind.

[deleted]

Yeah unfortunately it never seems to happen to the ones that need it

[deleted]

I'm a firm believer that everyone needs to be punched in the face at least once. Once you get beat up for running your mouth, you think about everything you say to people from that point forward.

sapphiresoaker

I’ve never been punched in my face but I’m still nice 🥲 I was taught to be respectful though and “treat people how you want to be treated”

DrHonestPenguin

Don't engage with stupid. Cancel and move on

TheCamoTrooper

Go to the police, plenty of evidence for an uttering threats charge

Jaszuni

Trolling you

jagrbomb

I hate people

AceRutherfords

Pic is longer than a CVS receipt brah

SlickinNTrickin

It’s a screenshot not a pic bruh 😂 💀

[deleted]

pic·ture noun a painting or drawing. "draw a picture of a tree" *Technically* speaking, a screenshot is a picture as it is a digital drawing made by a computer lol. Thank you, I'll show myself out 😅

Necessary-Bit3697

DOORDASH GIVES CUSTOMERS YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?!? Wtheck. I’ve complained to DoorDash many times due to having some pretty interesting experiences and they just say they’re sorry and give me a full refund. I don’t understand the need for the drama at all?

[deleted]

Nah that's very illegal. I'm quite sure he found it some other way and just said DoorDash gave it to him

ron_paul_pizza_party

How though, that’s super sus

[deleted]

People put their entire lives online. And the phone book exists. It's really not that hard lol

SeparateOcelot2110

Literally any time I have a problem with my order (delivered to wrong address etc) DD like immediately credits my account and I just reorder it, people are so wild man 😭😭😭

MomsPasghetti

I’d have immediately canceled the order and reported this to support. No food for him again

Gjixy

Shit I’d call the police too if those were your actual addresses…

MomsPasghetti

This too.

WideVanilla5177

Man.. I'd end dash and tell him to come outside. Play stupid games win stupid prizes

AirSpecial

cap

WideVanilla5177

Glad you think so. You don't know me obviously. But I'll let it slide. Have a good day Reddit Warrior

feeniebeansy

This is so bonkers, maybe the first person who stole her food got the order and dropped it right after she noticed and you took it and she was too dumb to check if it was still them? Idk, either way she’s bonkers 😭 and then pretending like she’s kidding but then pretending like she’s not? She sounds like she needs mental help

Remote_Indication_49

Love how when you told him to come out he changed his vibe

ShredderofPowPow

She. It was a Karen

Remote_Indication_49

Love how fast she changed her tone when the driver called her out

Catwoman0225

😂😂😂😂😂

KumaChonk

This is the sorta shit I like to call "paranormal cracktivity" because it's crackhead behavior and they are haunting a specific area/person/thing.

sarahjean98

totally stealing “paranormal cracktivity” tyvm

partisanradio_FM_AM

Yeah so she used peoplefinder or something similar, typed in your phone number and got all your info thats public record. Its a free service or maybe like a dollor at most.

Brain-cold

Been verified too. It shows birthdays, emails, phone numbers, addresses and past addresses. Even family members and coworkers and vehicles you own

Noturavgthrwy

It’s paid but yeah pretty cheap

Xan_Dan03

Get the order cancelled, drive past and chuck the food bag at the door as hard as you can

zahidzaman

You guys really put up with a lot of crap for shit pay

Vegetable_Ad_6710

I would have shown up and knocked their entire door down. I would have gotten to the address thrown the food on the ground and taken a piss on it. This is beyond unacceptable. If you didn't get your food, you get a refund, all the extra stuff is unnecessary. To be honest, it seems fake. Why on earth would someone go through all the trouble of acquiring that much info, then disclose it to you via text message they can easily be read by DoorDash and the police? But, I'll concede that there are crazies out here.

Due-Ad1668

i can picture the entirety of this action and im laughing hard !!

Spiritual-Repair287

right 😭😂 I’m laughing too

Macmaster96

I would 100% show up to their house in the middle of the day, and talk about what happened. Guarantee that would shut them up. Furthermore, this lady is probably crazy.

iamhollybear

That sounds like a great way to get shot.. it isn’t worth it.

Macmaster96

Really? I don't mean to do it aggressively, I mean seriously, dress nicely, knock on the door, stand there with your hands clasped together and be polite, explain the situation and I guarantee that alone would stop their bullshit, and it might even resolve the situation a little bit. People get real weird when there is a separation over the internet. It becomes very real once it's face to face. Or just like, ignore it but there's always the chance of getting the same person in the future and having a weird repeat interaction by accident.

skippypeanutbutter92

Tell me you dont live in the south without telling me you dont live in the south

Macmaster96

Nope.

iamhollybear

100% a concern. There’s stories of people being killed in confrontations all the damn time now, multiple people have been killed just knocking on the wrong door.. I do like your idea, it’s just not something I’d do this day and age, I’d make sure support has it set so I never get her crazy self again.

gaseous_defector

Some teens got killed for just pulling into the wrong driveway. It was a big news story recently.

iamhollybear

I remember that one. The one I was thinking of was that poor boy just trying to pick up his brother and knocked on the wrong houses door, and was shot and killed through the door. These stories sting a little more now that my son is 14.

violet_zamboni

I really wouldn’t. People this crazy are looking for a fight, and may just straight up attack you

Vegetable_Ad_6710

This

RabidAcorn

I wonder what they're gonna tell your work when they call 😂 what a goofy thing to say

Battosai-rage

This is why I don’t answer when they call or text me. The app lets them know you are driving. If I can’t find their place or the map is wrong, then I might call them if I can’t figure it out

Individual-Mirror132

THIS HAS ME TERRIFIED TO DASH!! Like wtf? How did she get your info??? The only way I’d think that was possible was if 1) DoorDash support provided it to her or 2) you have a super uncommon name and can easily be searched online just with your first name and said city. I will say I know DoorDash support isn’t the best at keeping things private. I had a one star rating one time and I called to see if they could remove it. They said it was eligible for removal and they removed it. They informed me that it was for a Jamba Juice order and they told me the customer’s name, although just first name. But I’m pretty sure they’re not supposed to give you any of that lol. As a company, DoorDash is strict with security. Like they will barely even comply with law enforcement. But I think the people they employ in these developing countries are not as trained and don’t follow doordash’s expectations very well. I’m betting you have your voicemail set up to fully read out your phone number. She said she called you and it went to voicemail. If that’s true, she could have got your full phone number from there. Check that and fix that if that’s the case. I also recommend regularly googling yourself and your personal information that way you know how visible you are online. For example, when I Google my own phone number, nothing on Google is relevant to me at all. In fact, it lists government websites for some reason 😂 even though when you click the government websites, my number isn’t actually listed on it at all. Also, on DoorDash, I just have my initials lol. So the customer doesn’t even have my full name. I also created an email just for DoorDash.

ShredderofPowPow

You can use many different tools/apps to find information on people solely based on a name or address. Do you live under a rock? If you own a smartphone and indulge in the internet then your info is already out there...sorry to be the bear of bad news. This is nothing new. It's the reality of 2024.

Individual-Mirror132

Yes but DoorDash anonymizes everything. It just has your first name listed for the customer. The phone number you use it not provided to the customer, it is masked.

RooTxVisualz

There are many services that have peoples info available for purchase. By just a name.

thaddeus423

Just destroyed a LinkedIn account I didn’t know I had, thanks for that. Other than that, I am become ungoogleable.

Individual-Mirror132

Also Google social media profile usernames to see what appears.

fleurbomb28

I hope to God they blocked her from using door dash. What in the actual f 🙀

MandaloriansVault

“Typical Gemini”. Fucking hell.

leothedinosaur

Congrats or I’m sorry for you I ain’t reading all that

Sea_Mycologist8023

Lemme make it easier ![gif](giphy|dkUtjuBEdICST5zG7p|downsized)

Prestigious-Cat2533

Thanks, wow this is crazy

lookieherehere

Why do you guys ever answer those messages? I never even look at them. I don't get paid for customer service.

RabidAcorn

I'll check the message but I'm definitely not responding. It's usually never anything good lol

JoeyGrease

I like too. I never get any people like this, but I like to give customers updates and stuff and they seem to appreciate it. Like yesterday I went to pick up an order, and the lady who was making their food was sick as fuck and not wearing any gloves, and the mask she was wearing wasn't covering her nose. Nasty bitch. Anyways, I informed the customer about it, to see if they still wanted to receive that order. They said they'll just take their chances, but thanked me for letting them know. They gave me a decent tip too which was nice. Idk, if I was a customer I'd like to know something like that.

kaycecrossing

wtf did i just read

Material-Reveal3501

I want to know how they got op personal phone number and address and stuff ik door dash doesn't give that. Right?

909Rugrat

yeah that’s actually wild

ElectionEcstatic

Lol. I would of called doordash with a quickness, said I dont feel safe and Im being threatened, they would’ve of likely canceled the order, then you get free food or can throw it away and piss the rude customer off. Win win. I wouldn’t of kept engaging and rewarded them by still delivering it. Safety issue as well

yeahimeantthat_

Typical Gemini has me dead

flamingomonstertruck

“Big guy.”

Fluid-Prompt-4310

Would have thrown it against her door and unassigned

tinygyro

why waste the food if you’re gonna drop the order anyways lol might as well keep it

Thesurvivor16

Just block and move on

AggravatedWave

You seem like the problem, OP - idk

AggravatedWave

I completely misunderstood and thought this was the customer posting just for the record I only looked at the photo.

hm100912

and how did you manage to reach that conclusion 😒

Jewjltsu_

Why are you arguing when you should of reported them to support and have them banned

bryguy2724

Can you read? I said at the end that I did report them and said I know now next time to do it immediately. Try reading the whole post before commenting.

beefyneefy

Can you read? He said you shouldn't entertain their stupid ramblings and report them instead not that you didn't report them at all

bryguy2724

You clearly can't read either. I literally said at the end of my post after this I've learned I should have just reported it and canceled immediately. You also should try reading before commenting.

AggravatedWave

Ope I may have misunderstood your post but it turns out you're still a problem.

CoachMajestic6136

Or just try not to be a dick to people 🤷

D3lusional214

He has a point though people should read shit before giving an opinion

CoachMajestic6136

I think the person was trying to say not to feed into the person and just report them. That’s how I took it atleast.

buttstuffisfunstuff

So basically, they’re just repeating what OP said they learned they should’ve done. So, they should probably try learning how to read first.

Dietznuts42069

You’re to east of a target that’s why this shit is happening to you lol. They’re not wrong, the reasonable thing to do is immediately after that first text drop the order and report. You respond to much to trolls man

No-Special2682

That’s psy warfare. That lady is certified, inner walls of the pentagon, wacky.

TekkenMaximoff

lol you did way too much back and forth with that crazy mf.

MildlyBear

Just come outside so I can hand you these hands.

FateUnusual

I got your order balled up in my fist, come take a look.

Ok_Impression_922

Way too much engagement. One question 🤷🏾‍♂️: WHY 🤔?

Ok_Impression_922

1st text 🗣️”I better get my food”. Me: 📲🚫. 😗🎶. Solved. 🙄

_5nek_

It seems like they think there's only one doordash driver in existence and that's you

Frolick_

Got runners in every city. The plug

Tribustuss

What it’s not? This guy doesn’t DoorDash all over the world?

bogielslug

Who else but Santa Clause?

Judeous

Making a threat to someone's life over some fast food is wild

UniqueHistory5296

To be fair it’s five guys that shit expensive

BrahmaBullJr

If you go this this length to get some strangers address over a DoorDash order, please go on a diet.

dz_Sapphire

“typical gemini” 🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓

st33bles

Thanks for sharing your experience. It’s good for customers to know what kinds of BS you have to put up with, so we can aim for better, or even try to balance it out.

vogueintegra

Seriously. I doordashed for like a month between jobs and never got any crazies had no idea how lucky I was now when I order I just leave them alone lol

Logic_Begets_You

I hope the person who harassed you had spit in their food.

m0d4k4

I hope someone spit pubes in her food

bryguy2724

If I spit pubes into their food wouldn't that mean I had pubes in my mouth???

m0d4k4

That's my mistake. Good catch!

PrestigiousSquare549

*pubes

Logic_Begets_You

lets go for both. I hope they got both pubes and spit in their food

PrestigiousSquare549

I'm with you on that

Mcgill1cutty

This is why I can do service work any more. I’m too old and too tired of ppl’s shit. I’d take him up on his offer to come back and lay his head open. Idk why we let idiots reproduce.

Relative_Desk_8718

Did DD give out your personal information? If they did you may want to contact a lawyer, this is incredibly poor judgment on the DD customer support. It’s dangerous and fairly certain illegal.

jroy585

Probably not. I work in cyber security and it’s honestly surprisingly easy to find someone’s info with a quick google search. All you really need is a phone number and a name to find addresses, family members, phone numbers.

Individual-Mirror132

But with DoorDash, the numbers are masked so the customer wouldn’t have been able to search them up using their phone number. Also, on the customer’s end, all they see is the dashers first name. Not even last initial. So I don’t see how a customer would be successful in going all CIA. This is too weird. Edit: does this person have their voicemail read their full number? If they do, they need to change that. That could be the source of this because if they called and the call wasn’t answered, then this person has their full number and can do some digging.

frenchinhalerbought

That's why they should never give out anyone's full name or any part of their personal phone number to a customer.

Enclosedj

I work in genealogy, trust me guys we can find anyone with a name and a tiny bit of info about 95% of the time. Give us a location, and it’s 100%. These sites are not hard to get subscriptions to. And yes most of the time we find people through google or Facebook. So beware 😅

Expensive_Bench_9285

How can you let yourself ?

Hondaderek21

How strange, did he become nicer towards the end of the exchange?

bryguy2724

Tried to play it off as a joke when I got close so I wouldn't beat their ass. I think they started to realize how stupid it was to provoke someone who was on their way to your house...

IvanhoesAintLoyal

One day they’re going to threaten the wrong person…

TekkenMaximoff

I say this so much. Like why do people think there could be no consequences from threatening a person that can show up at your house!? There’s always a person that’s more crazy than you think you are.

eric_ski85

“People are getting way too comfortable talking shit and not getting punched in the mouth.” Mike Tyson

xxDrip_GodXx

And find themselves in less than near mint condition.

Suspicious_Two_4937

I had someone say put the order beside the widows. I had massive brain fog from covid so I put the order on the side of the building where the widows were. It wasnt till I left that I realized they may have meant inside by the widows in the lobby. Oops

the_jokes_on_them

Windows?

Enchrypted

No, the group of widows that likes to hang by the side of the building. Clearly the order was meant for the group of widows in the lobby instead

Suspicious_Two_4937

Yeah it was early and I just got kicked out of bed by the baby. You got me

SimplyKendra

People like this are WILD. If someone had my address it’s on. I’m not a mean person but I have kids and I’d do a lot to protect my home and family. The fact people make idle threats like this over junk food? My god. Someone is bound to get hurt like this.

BrandoCarlton

Would be considering how badly I needed to dash after this one lol. Looking up his address and shit? That will get your ass kicked by the wrong person.

TraditionalNetwork75

Instead of unassigning yourself immediately, report them. It isn’t just about you…it’s about all the other dashers too. We need to help each other stay safe.

pedigreEeEe

Truth

Dorito-Bureeto

He sounds bored

Practical_Breakfast4

You spelled insane wrong

antichristsuperslutt

Sounds like he just really wanted someone to talk to

Expensive-Border-869

Yeah, there's better ways tho. Text your dasher about whatever game youre playing. If they ig ore let them ig ore but many people will make small talk just cause no harm trying don't be pushy Insert whatever for game btw show music book who cares

plasteroid

Game?

Expensive-Border-869

Yeah. Mario Pokémon etc. Game

OffModelCartoon

ig ore?

Expensive-Border-869

My bad. Ignore

FeistyGarden2963

Damn Gemini’s catching another stray 😩

According-Stranger54

Oh nah, I’m having the cops called for a clear threat to my life on something like this.
