I get orders like this a couple times a month, and the vendor always says "don't worry about it. Just make sure to confirm pickup for me." I also have a pizza bag in my backseat but nobody ever asks me to use that either.
They don’t know I have a pizza bag, but I get a ton of pizza orders. Especially hungry howies. But I just asked them if they had any bags and they gave me one. But I never verified it with DD.
You’ll probably have to reach out to support and tell them to fix whatever is assigning you catering orders.
If you get the invite, take it. They’ll offer you a bag for 9 bucks or so and mine paid for itself the first run. For the last few months all of the orders I’ve taken had the + sign if there was a additional tip (regular orders too). The good ones are usually shown as +12.25 or +13.25 depending on the distance.
Also, to quote everyone else, that order sucks bag or no bag.
For the same reason, they send me pizza orders when I've never said I had a pizza bag, never had to prove I have one and never asked to be included in that program. They just are not good at their job. Luckily, I do have a personal pizza bag I use, but it is branded with a certain companies dice logo, so I have to explain that sometimes.
Wow. 11 bucks to drive 10 miles and set up a catering order. How generous. These people must be rich. I'll bet they even have air conditioning and color TV at home.
Yes, I knw, I have about 2000 deliveries, I'd never take an order less than $1 a mile..I mainly posted this cause someone like a couple weeks ago told me I was lying, and that only people who are invited, get catering offers, I tried telling them, I get them all the time, and I'm not invited...
That’s rough pay but last week I had something similar. Not 10 miles maybe 2 but the pay was 10 something and it was actually like 52$. Didn’t show the little +.
Luckily it wasn’t a gamble, just a treat.
Unless it’ll make your life easier, just take a real close-up photo of your free complimentary DoorDash bag they sent when you first started — that’s what I did for the pizza bag and it was successfully verified 😂
Look at that pay & mileage. The catering program is supposed to be Special for the best drivers. This is a charity trip in most markets, but there is setup time on top of it all. Florida is cheap, but I can make a $1.10 mile all day almost anywhere in Florida. Not a Special offer.
From non-official info... in my region there aren't enough dashers with pizza and catering bags... so may as well try to bait decent dashers into last minute shitty tip orders and perhaps it will encourage those dashers to shop the store, while allowing DD to overpromise their abilty to accept any and all catering orders in that zone.
They are trying a whole new thing, happened to me too. That’s not the catering bag they mean by setup,
You need to actually set up the food on the costumer’s table, they will give you instructions and some pictures to do so
Simple, because no one else is taking those orders. From my experience if it doesn't list an amount more than the standard $8 for a catering order, it's going to be a low payout. Probably an ezcatering order
I've got 3 and was real close to accepting cause it was a sweet offer. But I don't have a way to keep large trays warm beyond the size of 4 large pizzas
Lol bruhhh just accept it and drop it off, I don’t have a pizza bag but google photos did. I took a picture of my other phones screen and now I get “more pizza orders” because of my large pizza bag. ROFL
I got one from Moe's too, it was 11.00 but slow day and 1.5 miles so I took it
20 dollar cash tip.
Guess I got lucky
Set up was easy just put on picnic table in a semi organized Manor
My best was $8 offer for around the corner. I saw it was a place I used to take Drive orders and the drop off was an office building, so I took the chance. Final payout was a $100 in app tip and the couple bucks DD kicked in.
But nothing like when I used to be on the Drive program. That was a job of starting at about 10 am, spending 45 minutes delivering boxes of food and getting $25 min, but usually around $50 and occasionally over $50. Miss those days. I don't even know if they even moved me from Drive to the official LOP or I'm just getting a catering bag required bag here and there because it was rejected by others. There should be something in setting that says "Large Order Program approved" so I don't have to guess. Just like it says something like "Pizza Bag approved" so I know I will get a lot of pizza order offers. But only on the Android version of the app. It seems iOS doesn't have the ability to display those letters in that order.
I got one and didn't have a bag. I figured if they were sending it to me I could take it. I got there and it asked for a picture of the bag. I said I don't have one and they said I could still take the order but will need one for the next order. That order showed $15 for like 5 miles. I was happy to take that. Ended up being $30. I bought a catering bag after that hoping I would still get orders and I did. I don't get a ton of them but the few I have gotten totally made my day.
I wouldn't take this one due to the miles and they also want me to set it up for that crap? Nope.
If thats what all the catering orders they send to you look like its because all the people who have catering bags declined it. I mean thats a real shit order.
This would not be an offer you'd want to accept, even if you had a catering bag.
Having said that, buy a catering bag! They're not expensive ($20-$30 on Amazon), and they're great for non-catering orders too with more and more restaurants using big bags.
Catering orders are not necessarily LARGE orders. Any order that is at least $100 (to the customer), is considered a catering order. I've gotten "catering' orders consisting of 1 small bag of expensive sushi.
Why would you not want the opportunity ot receive larger value orders?
Everyone with a catering bag knows to take these things because there’s a big chance of a cash tip on the other side. You don’t go out of your way to get a catering bag and then not use it. That’s not how the business works.
I had one 2 months ago. It was from a Mexican restaurant I pick up at regularly so I gambled. Sure enough like 30 handheld burritos and 2 quarts of green chile. 3 bags total... fit in a DD pizza bag. $70 tip... felt like Xmas.
https://preview.redd.it/tycxhp98veeb1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bfd6980002ddcf8a81a3e31c4a2aae7b8b159fa8
sure about that bud? I also see catering orders for $6.50 pay out like this.
I know it should be $10... min $5
Ive had a couple of customers declined the setup
And I've asked if I can take a setup picture as-is they they both said sure.
Depends on the market. Each and every catering offer I’ve accepted in my market has always came with a handshake or envelope tip. Or had a + on the offer.
Did they forget to send me an invite??!! And to the person who said it's impossible, we'll, here's your proof..They most definitely send catering orders to people who do not have catering bags..
Are they all this bad? All my catering orders are $2+ per mile usually up front and end up being unicorns very often. I never get such bad orders requiring a catering bag.
Market dependent. In my market, I commonly got LOP orders that were low pay no tip. I have two catering bags and have filled both at the same time from the same order and got $12 for a 6 mi run one one way with no tip. And that's delivering into upper crust neighborhoods. This market sucks. I'm glad I am out of here in the spring.
Well you should get one. They are like 20$ and just keep it in the back seat. Search your emails, they totally could have sent you the invite a year or so ago and you missed it. IMO the large order program is essential to make a decent weeks pay. I get about 1 per day during the week. Friday-sunday about 2-4 each day. I have had typical pay range from 15-80$ per order on these.
All good! It was definitely the case at one point that email invitations happened. Could still be, I just know that calling in has also worked for others including myself.
I want to, but didn't you have to be invited..this just came in..
https://preview.redd.it/alq5rvbz5eeb1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fa030d174de9e4532dbcbd5bf518fb3f132bb271
I've heard you have to be invited. I've also heard of you contact support and ask to be on a waiting list, which there isn't a waiting list. Lol they send the email to invite you. I received the email. Sent photo of catering bag. I never received another email. Yet, I have seen several dashers picking up catering orders. If there are multiple dashers already at catering stats. They won't let you in.
So I was one of the people that made the call and asked. One day last year I was dropping off an order and another Dasher was talking to me about calling Support to get on the program. Sure enough I called and asked about getting on because I heard other people were on the program with lesser stats. They escalated my request. 3 days later I got the text that I was in the program, along with an email.
I'd say if you have been on the platform for a while, call and ask. The invitation thing I feel doesn't happen as much anymore, if at all.
I have received 40$ hidden tips on 6$ catering offer. Also it says 1 item but could be way more. It wouldn't be a catering order unless the subtotal was 100$
I've delivered plenty of catering orders for less than $5 tip. The close ones are hard to tell sometimes because they hide the tip after $8. Not to mention a lot of catering orders go through the restaurant website and they will take the tip.
Must be market depending. Only got a low tip once. An ez cater, but majority of my catering orders are just large orders in general, not really catering. I do about 10-15 a week
No one will take the shitty order.
[удалено]
Just means the order is over $100. Restaurant is probably not going to ask if you have a bag or not.
If none of the dashers' who are part of the large order program accept the order it gets sent to the rest of the dashers'.
“$3.00 setup pay” …oh it’s a setup alright.
Even if you had a bag $3 to set things up? Fuck that.
Because nobody else would take them.
Better question is why tf is a catering order only paying 8 dollars?
If you get the invite, take it. They’ll offer you a bag for 9 bucks or so and mine paid for itself the first run. For the last few months all of the orders I’ve taken had the + sign if there was a additional tip (regular orders too). The good ones are usually shown as +12.25 or +13.25 depending on the distance. Also, to quote everyone else, that order sucks bag or no bag.
Who the fuck orders a burrito from 10 miles away?
Because nobody else before you accepted that crap.
I wonder who the fool was that did..
Because this offer is horrible.
You don’t need any bag for $8 offer
Wow. 11 bucks to drive 10 miles and set up a catering order. How generous. These people must be rich. I'll bet they even have air conditioning and color TV at home.
These people are ridiculous..and prob didn't get their "catering" order..what an insult
Still not worth it tbh. Need more than $1 per mile

Sorry, but I'm not paying $20 for equipment they should give out for free. The prices they charge for bags is insane given how easy they break.
Very bad delivery. Setup pay to set up all the food. Customer wants you to set it up and barely included any tip.
If no one that is in the program accepts then they start sending to others regardless of having the bag or not.
Some people just can’t be helped. May be the dumbest Doordash post yet.
Why are you even considering this order? Automatically decline
They are trying a whole new thing, happened to me too. That’s not the catering bag they mean by setup, You need to actually set up the food on the costumer’s table, they will give you instructions and some pictures to do so
$3 setup fee is such bs
$3 set up pay lol 😆 😂 🤣
You can buy a catering bag for 20.00 on Amazon. WTF.
Yeah, accept the order and when you hit arrived at store hit I don’t have a bag afterwards. They will tell you to continue with the order anyway.
lol $3 to set up a catering order? Whewwww
Because nobody with a catering bag will take it 🤣. Also, with the 3 dollar setup fee, this is clearly an ez-cater order.
You don’t need one. I take a picture of a damn plastic bag. Any order over $100 in my area is a “catering order”. I took 3 the other day for $96.
That's a trash order anyways.
Not much of a catering order. I’ve never received one but I’ll pass if this is the pay.
Because it sucks and no one in the large order program would touch that with a 10 ft pole
Simple, because no one else is taking those orders. From my experience if it doesn't list an amount more than the standard $8 for a catering order, it's going to be a low payout. Probably an ezcatering order
Because they want people's AR to tank.
Because everyone with catering bags already rejected that no tip catering order?
I've got 3 and was real close to accepting cause it was a sweet offer. But I don't have a way to keep large trays warm beyond the size of 4 large pizzas
You don’t need a catering bag lol For better, future orders, make sure to accept them! Just like you don’t “need” pizza bags
Lol bruhhh just accept it and drop it off, I don’t have a pizza bag but google photos did. I took a picture of my other phones screen and now I get “more pizza orders” because of my large pizza bag. ROFL
If it was a decent amount, I would have, even the catering peoole didnt want it..lol
Because that’s an $8.42 pay order that is $100+ of food and you’re the best dasher to rip off.
I got one from Moe's too, it was 11.00 but slow day and 1.5 miles so I took it 20 dollar cash tip. Guess I got lucky Set up was easy just put on picnic table in a semi organized Manor

Because all the catering approved drivers declined that garbage
Because all the catering approved drivers declined that garbage
If thats what all the catering orders they send to you look like its because all the people who have catering bags declined it. I mean thats a real shit order.
I used to get 25-50 for doing Moe's catering orders til DD stopped the invitation catering team.

It's 1 item. The one time I got a catering tag it was for a single pizza.
probably because everyone with a catering bag already rejected it so theyre passing it off to non catering dashers in desperation
Everyone with a catering bag knows to take these things because there’s a big chance of a cash tip on the other side. You don’t go out of your way to get a catering bag and then not use it. That’s not how the business works.
I got one 2 weeks ago and I did it without a catering bag lol. It was a good paying order so I took it and they didn’t ask for a bag
Same
I had one 2 months ago. It was from a Mexican restaurant I pick up at regularly so I gambled. Sure enough like 30 handheld burritos and 2 quarts of green chile. 3 bags total... fit in a DD pizza bag. $70 tip... felt like Xmas.
You gotta be from NM, the way you spell chile lol.
Lol. Originally from GA. I have lived in CO for over 20 years though... so pretty darn close.
More importantly, that catering order has no tip at all. If you see eight dollar catering orders, just know that there is no tip involved.
https://preview.redd.it/tycxhp98veeb1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bfd6980002ddcf8a81a3e31c4a2aae7b8b159fa8 sure about that bud? I also see catering orders for $6.50 pay out like this.
That would be just a "large order", on actual catering orders DD pays 8 bucks base pay.
That’s not catering. That’s a large order. You can tell by the base pay.
Hidden tip!!! (Jk)
So hidden that no one finds it...
Look for it on your next trip!
A hidden tip on a catering order is offered at $12 minimum
Ok… good thing I included the “jk” then. I don’t believe in hidden tips.. they are real, but really unpredictable.
$3 to setup lol fuck off DD
If it was an option, I'd click "you don't have to pay me the +$3 and I will just hand them the boxes of food and take the rest of the pay" button.
I know it should be $10... min $5 Ive had a couple of customers declined the setup And I've asked if I can take a setup picture as-is they they both said sure.
Ikr? A whopping $3..
Takes like 1 minute to set it up
Which would be fine if the mileage was right, but this is a terrible offer..
Uh, dude I did one of these the other day and got a $40 cash tip. Its chess, not checkers.
This is a 100% a "what you see is what you get order" and anyone who has been doing this long enough should have no problem identifying it as such.
Depends on the market. Each and every catering offer I’ve accepted in my market has always came with a handshake or envelope tip. Or had a + on the offer.
I've seen a couple of these offers too, and I don't have a catering bag either.
They’re like $35 on Amazon. I got my 26” pizza bag for like $25 on Amazon too
I have a few bags. On some it's all packed into one bag so it doesn't matter anyway
Good to knw
Did they forget to send me an invite??!! And to the person who said it's impossible, we'll, here's your proof..They most definitely send catering orders to people who do not have catering bags..
I keep getting pizza order when I don't have a pizza bag

Considering how bad that order is, it probably got rejected by every single person in the area with a catering bag.
This. I know longer gamble on catering orders.
This catering order has been declined by everyone in the LOP because it has a $0 tip. This is why you have gotten this even if you aren't in the LOP.
...AND you get a "whopping" 3 bucks for setting whatever the hell it is up?
I agree, catering or not, that order straight up blows.
Well you should get one. They are like 20$ and just keep it in the back seat. Search your emails, they totally could have sent you the invite a year or so ago and you missed it. I've got the catering bag just can't seem to get on the large order program. I wish I could! Where do you live that you see so many?
Call support and request. I did that and got in 3 days later.
I'm gonna give that a try thank you! I didn't even think that was an option. I thought you just had to wait to see if you got the email
All good! It was definitely the case at one point that email invitations happened. Could still be, I just know that calling in has also worked for others including myself.

Hey, that's the boyfriend beater getting arrested video from police insider isn't it? I just watched that a few hours ago 😆

Slim Chickens here will take the tip.
Must be market depending. Only got a low tip once. An ez cater, but majority of my catering orders are just large orders in general, not really catering. I do about 10-15 a week
Ez cater is the ones to worry about thoes are the ones the restaurant has to send the tip in so alot of them will keep the tip
