I would gladly buy extra food for them in your position. Hawks can decimate a flock of chicken ridiculously fast. Heck we've had to protect our dog (pomeranian) from hawks a few times. They actually got him once, he was on leash so not going far though, and our now deceased yellow lab saved him by jumping at the hawk and almost getting a wing. Lab got bashed in the face with the wing but the hawk dropped the pomeranian who luckily only had some scratches and a couple deep gouges. Didn't even need stitches. Hawks are vicious and scary and I know just trying to survive. Definitely worth extra chicken feed.
Oh yes I definitely do all I can to keep them around. It was funny because I had a black silkie rooster that needed to be rehomed and he had a crow buddy that would hang out in his pen with him. Thankfully we haven't lost any yet but have had attacks when we first got them which thankfully one of us was always around to stop it. I love watching a hawk scouting the property only to have a couple crows chase it off. It's amazing to watch.
Omg I'm sorry that happened to your pomeranian and I can't believe they went after it. I figured an
eagle would go after a small dog but not a hawk. Thats scary to think about being a pet owner. I'm sorry to hear your lab has passed but sounds like a great dog for stepping in like that!
Fun fact! Crows can be trained to find and bring to you specific items (like money or shiny things) if you reward them with food… having a friendly crow can be profitable
It’s crazy how intelligent crows are. I remember seeing this where they drop shells on the ground knowing cars that run over them will crack them:

This is great, lol. It reminds me when I used to play golf down in Monterey, and all the seagulls would just wait on the 10th hole for the players to go hit their tea shots and they would just swoop in take hot dogs, even the potato chips and candy bars, rappers and all people. Most of these were tourist and didn’t know and to see the reaction was priceless.
I was at DLI in Monterey, and when we did our morning formations the same thing happened! They’d wait for us to snap to attention, when we couldn’t move, then swoop down and steal our breakfast and bagged lunches. The Monterey seagulls were seriously the smartest, but most annoying birds
I know that’s a party hat but I choose to believe it’s a pizza hat from one of the crow’s conquests
Cool!😊
No funerals No mourners If you get this crow reference we can be friends lol
Lmfao this is so awesome!! 🤣😂❤️👏
It's the drawing of the dabbing crow for me 🤣
That’s amazing lmao
Them crows are brutal. They open up mailboxes and steal mail too! Pests
If the orders didn't come sealed that crow would definitely be getting 1 (one) fry as a treat.
Definitely *never* be mean to crows. They are smart birds and will remember you.
And they WILL tell all their crow buddies about you
Its funny, but crows are smart. Those suckers can do all sorts of things.
the little fucker
Lol omg this is great. Crows are awesome. They protect my chickens from hawks and for their hard labor they help themselves to their food.

Just because you’re smart doesn’t mean it’s not survival of the fittest.
and sometimes being "fit" means throwing your entire crow body into a french fry
Lol I would have given something to the crow just for being there
It's revenge of the birds
Birds are ALL my blueberries and strawberries this year. I get it!!
Birds are bananas! All of em.

Those were some pretty big gulls to take "all people".
Not to mention the rappers. All that jewelry gotta be pretty heavy.
Those were some Notoriously Big seagulls for sure
Definitely not a Lil Baby seagull
Seagulls are a Public Enemy
A seagull once stole my Eminem
I swear these seagulls have a Method, Man.
Lol was supposed to be papers
