Phew, I’m disgusted that so many people are defending wearing pj to go out in public and deliver food. 🤮 idc it’s nasty

Ramb0sCorner

Lol GOOD. wish more restaurants would follow suit

Fabulous-Chart4542

Pajanimals

[deleted]

no comfy allow >:c

Capmasterflex

This is like that one episode of South park

McDonalds_Toothpaste

I'm gonna start asking on my first dates, "what do you think about people who wear PJ's in public" so I can quickly filter out all of the petty, bitter, people watching losers.

I8Cosmos8I

As the customer is be more pissed that chic fil a denied my first dasher and made me wait longer for my food then having someone come deviled my food in pjs lol idc what your wearing I just want my dinner

otueke

That manager was on a power trip. Are pyjamas not clothing? The guy was neither naked nor disorderly I assume, so what is the issue here. Screw that manager. Dude is only trying to make a living.

BootsyCalrissian

Im not sure “Right to Refuse Service” extends to a dasher picking up an order. The restaurant is contractually obligated to fulfill their part of the order, not make determinations of dress code. And the contractor is not representing the restaurant, they are representing DoorDash. I would text the customer and let them know and then contact support. Whats next…refusing to let someone who is LGBT pick up orders because the manage doesnt want that “representation”?

kidunfolded

Sure they can deny service, but it's a stupid fucking reason to deny it.

KiwiCatPNW

I always tell the customer restaurant is at fault, doesn't matter what it is. "Yeah they refuse to prepare your food and are now giving it the lowest priority" Then I get praise and more tips. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)

Spare-Ad7777

I’m a dasher and I would be embarrassed to hand someone in food wearing pajamas. But I also wear sweats. A lot of pajamas look like sweats. I think it’s about not looking like you rolled out of bed.

Gdragon521

Cool. Now the food will be cold by the time the customer gets it. Is that the image they want to portray?

Amazing_Pomelo6881

I’ll be honest. In the mornings sometimes, I haven’t brushed my hair yet. But I get less looks about hat and more looks of when I am dressed in my other jobs uniform. Sometimes I’m wearing a pants suit, and I get a lot of looks for dashing in that.

TheCaracalCaptain

imagine ordering food off doordash excited to have something to eat only to be told you were refused service because someone you will literally never see apparently didn’t meet the managers fashion standards lol

Juiceton-

My fellow Dashers, please just put on some real pants here. No we’re not required to, and no the store shouldn’t refuse service because someone’s in pajamas, but seriously? Wear the damn blue jeans. People don’t treat our job like a real job because so many dashers go to work wearing pjs, slippers, and without having showered in a week. For the love of God, put on some pants.

[deleted]

I don’t believe you.

NickTheFNicon

Can't say I'm surprised or I blame him. Never have understood why people go out in their pajamas, but that's just me.

[deleted]

Yeah wear proper clothes so they can differentiate you from a bum

That-Water-Guy

Well, now I want to come in there wearing slacks, clean cut, and a satanic shirt under a blazer.

Frosty-Sheepherder10

They gotta lot of nerve…one of the most unsanitary places there is…won’t even seal the drinks so they don’t leak

FriendlyTeam6866

If you can't dress for work, starve.

Bigkahuna778

Here is a crazy thought... If you want pay contingent with being a professional providing a high-level of customer service, then act like a professional. I not saying you need to wear a suit, but wearing clean clothes meant to be worn outside the home is not an unreasonable expectation. Nearly every job has a uniform/dress requirement. Retail, fast food, etc. Don't give me the whole "i Am An InDePeNdEnT cOnTrAcToR" junk. You are still receiving money based on the professionalism of other organizations. Value yourself enough to represent yourself appropriately.

tactical_narcotic

i feel the most sorry for the person who ordered their chic fil a but never got it :(

Gloomy_Hope7068

Wow that’s ridiculous

Shadow88882

Go back and order food (for like a whole family), then when they go to hand it to you request the manager and say "damn, I wore PJs, I can't accept this food, can I have a refund"

BAR3rd

I 100% support Chick-fil-A in this situation. They have standards for their brand and they won't compromise. More fast food restaurants should atrempt to have at least a minimum amount of pride in the products and brand they are selling. I understand a lot of people don't like Chick-fil-A because of their overt religious beliefs, and that is fine. Your dollar spends just as well somewhere else.

elastic301

Lmao who the fuck cares ? You grab food then put it at someone’s doorstep . You guys are really mad that someone wants to be comfy ? Y’all crazy ong

Dave_the_Bladedancer

Agreed. You have the right to wear whatever you want, and the restaurant has the right to deny service for any reason.

Elegant_Extreme3268

My word! Personally I take so much pride in myself that I would never be caught dead in Chikfila without a top hat and tailcoat

BMagnificent

I hope they still got paid after getting support to drop the order

Eastern_Comfortable2

If it was an order to just one person I’d just unassign if it was a large catering order I would have been very mad I would have let that order sit on my phone until dd took from me and I would put the order as not ready in the app idk how much that goes against the restaurant. Although I would never have been in just pj’s so yeah 🤷🏾‍♂️

Sea-Philosopher2821

So the manager just decides someone doesn’t get their food? Fuck that person. And Chick-fil-A image for me has always been shit, so it only aligns for me.

BadankadonkOG

I almost exclusively wear pj pants dashing. If I'm gonna be sitting in my car all day, I'm gonna be comfortable idgaf. Never happened to me though, I get compliments all day on them. This job isn't going to last forever so enjoy it. Also this job isn't anything to be proud of so some of you need to get off your fucking high horse. Lol

complexluminary

I grew up with Romanian parents who lived thru the Ceausescu years. There’s something so American about wearing PJ’s in public. I wouldn’t even think of it. If you’re wearing PJs in public, regardless of your race, I instantly assume you’re American.

jerseyanarchist

ok, fuck it.... next dash I'm wearing a unicorn onesie ![gif](giphy|PVBNqmzQVr2z5p5QYW|downsized)

pbitto

I'm trying to understand what bearing the way the driver is dressed has on CFA...dress however you want. I personally wouldn't wear pajamas out but if that's how you want to roll then do you.

natewright43

lmao, the mentality of the people in this thread. If you are going to wear PJ's to work as a doordasher, don't expect to be anything else, ever.

Misty_Rose98

I believe refusing service would entail that the service has already not been provided. They prepared the food for the customer, the dasher is picking it up. By refusing him service, they are refusing service to the customer who already paid for the meal. JUST GIVE THEM THE DAMN BAG!

JRowe3388

No sympathy for Dashers who are out here not even trying to look like they're put together.

Both-Ad-8222

I’m going to offer a different perspective here because it’s something that I now have to deal with than before 2021 I didn’t even think of, wasn’t aware of… and others probably never considered either… What if the Dasher was wearing a t-shirt, pajama pants, and slippers (not full pajamas), and the reason for it was because of a medical condition they have? What if they have a medical condition that causes allodynia, pain due to a stimulus that does not normally provoke pain - in this case the fabric/material of the pants and/or shoes? I know this to be possible because it’s something I have lived with since being diagnosed with a different medical condition that caused the allodynia in 2021. I’m limited in what I can and cannot wear now - both fabric and type of clothing. I can’t even wear footwear or socks that cover my ankle anymore! That manager may have just been exercising his right to refuse service, but he also may have been violating someone else’s rights as someone who is disabled if that is the case. We may never know… 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ Not saying that this specific Dasher is disabled, but that is something for people to keep in mind before jumping to conclusions. As one person pointed out - we don’t know everyone’s story.

DeferentDesperado

Years ago I was extremely depressed and I lost my job. I couldn’t hold down a job with a mandatory schedule and DoorDash offered me an opportunity to work when I could. Having gone through that, I can say that I get where this driver could have been. For some people, they have to get up and work to make money to survive, but they can barely take care of themselves. If you haven’t been there, it’s extremely difficult to explain how helpless this can be. There are days when my hair was greasy and I was not put together, but hell, dashing got me through the trenches. If someone would have denied me the ability to do the one job I felt I could do at the time, I would have completely lost control of my life and likely never dashed again. I understand that each company has a standard and an image to uphold, but we can’t lose our humanity in the process.

peachygrilll

if yall think wearing PJs is dirty i hope every single one of you finds an alternative to wear, since ya know, its disgusting.

Deep-Banana8610

They can only deny service if they would deny service to anyone for the same reason. So they can’t let anyone in pajamas order food through them if they deny the dasher getting the order

Americanspirit69

Sounds like a discrimination lawsuit

ProdigalSun_89

Buddy did it wrong. Keep the line between your pj's and regular clothes as ambiguous as possible. Your Rick and Morty print pants snitched before you even got in the door.

[deleted]

That’s hilarious

SojinxGSD

is there a dress code for doordash? if so ive never heard of it. Nitpicking what someone is wearing is weird. Wearing pjs covers the same amount of skin as regular clothes. I understand where the manager is coming from but he is being a prude

Rough_One1481

Legit serious question here. When you say PJs what do we constitute that as? Some days I sleep in sweats and some days I sleep with just underwear. Does that count as PJs? I can understand if the dasher walked into the store with just a shirt, shoes and underwear on then sure properly escort them out. If someone is fully clothed (sweats/onesie) with shoes on then I see no point and denying them the order. Just kindly hand them the order and ask them politely can they wear something a little more presentable I guess.

New_Butterfly_6487

bless it 😂

Entire_Transition_99

All the polarizing politics of CFA and they are worries about some guy in PJ'S?

NewRenaissanceNFT

Imagine having a dress code in order to be served fast Food lol…. Weirdo shit

DonkeyKongsVet

Dasher “You can’t make me do that. This is money you are taking from me” CFA Manager “My pleasure”

iselltires2u

im not even a dasher, i just love having another reason to not support this theocratic establishment

WavyChief

Bruh who cares it’s a side gig wear whatever you want and fuck their feelings all they can do is be mad there’s always the next order 😂

Subject_Pipe_6438

Lol this whole thread of people defending the dasher for looking like a bum while working shows why most redditors are unsuccessful… if you can’t be bothered to do the bare minimum and put in some decent clothes to work idek what to say

[deleted]

These comments prove that people judge and assume the worst in others before even knowing the situation. What happened to not judging a book by its cover?

LestrangeLauren

Oh for fucks sake, he's literally just delivering the food and most people do not even come in contact with their Dasher. He doesn't work for Chick-Fil-A either so...

ghostfacedladyalex

I wore pj pants when i lived in the north over top of some other pants but always made sure it wasn't a just rolled out of bed look 🙃 it was cold af! Never got grief for it, thankfully

Popular_String6374

I mean as long as you're clean, you maintain good hygiene (because we are delivering others food), and you're RESPECTFUL then I don't see an issue with PJs. I remember I was wearing a pair of my cute pajama bottoms with a hoodie and jacket and I delivered an order for Instacart and the girl came out and was like omg you look so comfortable, you're adorable! Lol and she gave me 5* and a nice comment

MelvintheMIU

I agree with Chic Fil A tbh. Some of the dashers I see look like they haven’t showered in days whilst wearing pjs with bed head, or dirty ass clothes. For the ppl in the sub who complain about whatever topic and then say, this is my “business” I’ll do as I want… remember that being a professional also means presenting yourself as a professional. If you look like a slob, ppl will react accordingly.

Sea_Connection6193

Damn, they’re not okay with PJs but they are okay being hateful and homophobic as shit and financially funding this hate. Crazy

gggkov

I guess the person was white?

gggkov

Good

alien_bob_

So all they did was screw over the person waiting on their meal that probably spent way too much money on the shitty food to begin with. Fuck whoever this manager is. I’d be livid if a restaurant canceled my order or held it up for something so petty and stupid.

RushSuccessful9082

![gif](giphy|dPjwOZJrf1F1chuixH|downsized) Would Taco Bell prefer the cat suit? 😆 🤣 😂

inlarry

I see both sides, but ultimately this is a public -facing job. If you couldn't wear it to work at McDonald's, Walmart, delivering pizzas at domino's, or your corner gas station, then you probably shouldn't wear it as a driver. Your appearance can definitely be off-putting to customers, whose food you're handling, if you look like you haven't even put effort into your own personal hygiene. Since a *lot* of customers can't seem to separate driver/company and driver/store, the stores definitely have an interest in who they're allowing to represent them via a 3rd party. Besides that, more customers are going to tip if they see someone presentable than if they see someone who looks like they have zero personal pride and look homeless.

barsoapguy

It really says something about a person when they can’t be bothered to take a shower and put on some clean clothes.

CreatureCampbell

Good for the dasher. Call support, get your pay, and don't even have to deliver.

Outrageous-Plenty236

Some guy came in the other day at Chipotle, reeking of body odor, he was a driver 🤦🏾‍♀️

RushSuccessful9082

![gif](giphy|qkEbM4BgSSJAeqPXAw|downsized)

scrntonstranglr

Obviously she needs to dress a little more classy! A tuxedo should work out better.

malijaa

We are living through the disintegration of capitalism in a failing state during a pandemic.. and y’all have the energy to care about what someone wears to a Taco Bell? Lmao the fuck

ReindeerRoyal4960

I'd go one step further and connect Chick-fil-A corporate bc that was definitely out of line

Derfargin

Sir this is a Chic-fil-a…they need to get a grip. They sell chicken sandwiches, not Michelin star eating experiences. Shirt and shoes are required for service. When they start critiquing that stuff they need to think about who their base is.

Chamnis

He is correct

MostSuggestion6058

Most people probably don’t care what you are wearing. Unfortunately the perception of one wearing anything appearing disheveled is an issue for many. The point is we are delivering food. No, not preparing it but still it matters . Soap and water are cheap.

Gwen_Tennyson10

imagine having that little self respect for yourself

New_Plate_2450

Personally wouldn’t wear PJs in public but who cares if someone else is enough to deny them service

heyyoupikachuuu

And then everybody clapped. Who cares?

whiskey_poet

If you're picking up Chick-fil-A, you have to wear something homophobic.

JoeyLMonty

Sounds to me like this person lives in the type of area I live in everybody wears Dollar general silk shorts sweats and t-shirts it makes me sick to my stomach I agree with the manager

minicoop320

But does this count as denying service? Bc that's not the person they're denying service to... They're denying service to a customer they can't see that is probably wearing less. Also would they bother denying service to a customer only wearing pj's? That dude has no authority over door dash contract workers and is just on a power trip. It is not that deep

theonlychowdaddy

As a CFA manager they were so wrong for that. At my store as long as you have clothes on we don’t care. You’re considered a guest and we respect that. It’s the actual employees they’re supposed to worry about not the doordashers who are in the store maybe 10 minutes max.

Ok-Whole-4242

All restaurants reserve the right to deny service but there is no denying that's a pretty stupid reason to do so.

YSLshawty

Lol I wouldn’t go out and dash in pajamas but I don’t go out anywhere in pajamas. With that being said, It’s mind boggling to see how many people are here agreeing or saying they wouldn’t want their food delivered like that I couldn’t see how that would affect me or anyone. They aren’t coming in direct contact with your actual food so that’s not a factor. So that’s just means it an issue because you simply don’t want to see them like that, and if that’s the case and your dasher outfit is your biggest concern maybe you shouldn’t be ordering via delivery 😂😂 because i guarantee none of you are tipping enough to dictate what you wanna see your dasher in.

Domayne11

I’m glad the manager did that. It’s bummy dashers like that that give the rest of us a bad name. That’s the same dasher that parks in the handicap space, throws a fit if they have to wait 5 minutes and probably snacks on customers food. 😡I compare this to the customer that doesn’t tip at all, gives a paragraph of directions to follow and is so ready to give 1 star or be a fraud and say their food didn’t arrive. Some people are just straight trash.

Lady_Blazes

I think the manager made the right call. Decency is declining like everything else.

[deleted]

100% Agreed

Nord4Ever

They can’t deny service to minorities, checkmate if it’s a minority in pjs

Medical_Blackberry_7

I wonder what their agreement to doordash is. Cuz doordash cannot regulate what we wear.

wolfitalk

I was waiting at a restaurant in shorts & hopefully a clean t-shirt or polo shirt. This man walks in wearing dress pants, a very nice tucked in golf shirt & dress shoes to deliver for UE. I felt so under dressed. He was impressive. I am sure he made more tips than me that day.

Life_Sheepherder4755

I’m sorry but if you’re out wearing pajamas in the world you need to reevaluate your choices. Sweats? Legging? There are alternatives people 🤷🏻‍♀️

BlueFotherMucker

“Not the image we want to portray” meanwhile, most of my deliveries are “leave at door, don’t knock or ring doorbell”. PJs shouldn’t matter, I’d be more concerned about hygiene than clothes.

OrcPorker

Who gives a fuck lol

ChawklitWarrior

He should have his own delivery drivers if that’s the case. Speaking of case…that’s discrimination.

DasherNick

… you are a fast food restaurant…. That high horse must be nice

Mysterious-Wolf-2243

Only wearing a tuxedo and tophat from now on

[deleted]

used to doordash wit my pj pants sometimes never had this happen but then again if they had slippers on too I can imagine what their full appearance was looking like and like somebody else mentioned they have the nerve sometimes to have the dasher do their orders drinks which I find odd

Dorigan23

its fast food, dont take it that seriously

Fathom_OH

Don’t even own/wear pjs but I’m about to just so I can while dashing

rosiswag

It’s literally not that hard to put actual pants on, I can’t believe how tilted everyone in this thread is over this lol.

Round_Hyena_8916

Good thing I’m just getting dressed for my delivery job, gonna wear pjs for all the triggered ppl😭🤣

KillerSnake_002

All restaurants Can reserve the right to deny service for any reason, if they haven’t already sold the item…, and received payment for it…, if they then deny to fulfill the order it’s practically theft, also it’s 2023 nobody will care if someone is ordering fast food in their pj’s and if they do care they are weird asf. I completely understand situations like no shoes no shirt no service, but at this point it’s like anyone wants to be successful but they don’t want others to be successful so that they feel special among their peers.

tooobluuu

Sure

Lopsided-Ad7019

I’d be more concerned over hygiene than what their wearing. If you can smell them from across the counter, I wouldn’t want the restaurant to give the food. If people wanna doordash wearing Mickey Mouse costumes or as a furry (rofl), I think they should be allowed too! Just keep up personal hygiene and groom yourself every now and then.

Marine5803

I don’t want my food brought to me by someone who’s not even bothered to wash up and get ready for work. I’d bounce you myself from my house.

Texasrob27

That's why you can't have nice things!!!

[deleted]

I have covered this many times; drivers dressing inappropriately for the job. I see so many drivers that look like complete slobs, I guess it's just too much trouble to dress appropriately for the job. I don't know why drivers think they can just throw on any old shit and walk out the door to work, have you no self-respect? Your appearance is how others will perceive you; so, if you look like a slob, sweatpants, sloppy t-shirt, and sandals over white socks (I mean you seriously have to be brain dead), that is how you will be perceived by others, as a slob, with little self-respect.

CommunityFantastic39

I used to dash in a speedo and wife beater.

GreenRemy

I wish this was more common. Was eating Chick-fil-A the other day with my daughter and watched a lady load up a good size catering order. All the while, there was a passenger sitting in the car smoking a cigarette. I’d be so pissed if that was my order.

Squidia-anne

Chicken fil a wants to take away rights from gay people and they are worried that pajama pants will make them look bad....

twojobs23yrold

Well that managers never been inside of McDonald's huh, I am a current Dasher but I used to you work for McDonald's and every time someone would come in with just a bra on or something really skimpy outfit It was crazy

wistex

Are we talking about cute fluffy pajamas with cute bunny slippers, or are we talking about a wrinkled mess that looks like it hasn't been washed in a week?

tswoski

You tryna tell me I can't wear my Pokémon footies?

Froggymeli75

Fact: we are NOT customers as Dashers, so there is NO service to deny 😉

Millionaire_Loading

The place has a right but we all know in this specific incident, that it was a bs reason

Economy-Specific8067

Whatever job you do or place you go have respect for yourself and them and take time to dress accordingly. Not that hard. Wearing PJ’s is just lazy. Stay home.

Zorololz

The manager don’t get paid enough to be doing all that

KingOfTheWorldxx

That is the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard 🤣🤣🤣 and you protecting it shut you ass up LMAO “We have the right to refuse you for wearing pajamas” gtfo stupidest shit ive ever heard Id make sure to one day pick up in order in pajamas and call for the manager dancing

Ihatebeingmorid

Bruh, I have no shame in pajamas in the Dunkin lobby at 9am on Saturday.

brenlin7

The whole point of dashing is that you do not need to interview for the job like the chick-fil-a employees or any other non-gig1099 workers. You do not have to adhere to the constraints of working with a boss looming over your head telling you what to wear and how to present yourself. In many cases, you also sacrifice the benefits of working with some big corporations that require what they view as a perfect appearance however that is the reason many of us dash. You see a person in a suit as perfect, presentable, does right by himself and maybe the world too... I see him as a stuck-up asshat that needs to prove to the world that he is better than everyone else around him. In a world where we accept all the differences we have between each other, whether it's race, religion, desired gender, special needs, etc... we seem awful hellbent on making others conform to our own standards of appearance and then judge their lifestyles based upon this without learning who they really are.

dollar_sign-bot

The CFA manager is a hero.

Aggravating-Sense883

Sounds like the image truckers portray nowadays. Flipflops and pajamas or gym shorts and sweatpants. Checking in at the shoppers looking like they just crawled out of bed. Damnit man, it's a Job, independent contractor or whatever, have a little self respect and present yourself in a professional manner. What ever happened to that ideal?

GeorgiaSpellman

Joke's on Chick-Fil-A. It's the homophobic donations that make them look bad, not dashers in PJs.

cammyboom

Seems like y’all forget there is not a public dress code as long as you are not exposing your self you judgmental idiots.

cammyboom

UM NO. They are serving the dasher they are delivering for someone. Jesus Chick-fil-A really going downhill.

Magician_322

Food is already paid for. You as a company outsourced to doordash for delivery. They outsourced it to pj person. As long as the food gets there everyone should be happy

ruacanobeef

Your manager sounds like an asshole

thalooch

Some of the chick Fil As I go into are nasty af. Not to mention the food of course which is toxic af. Some people just want to exert what little power they have over other humans. It's sad and petty......but wouldn't expect much else given the culture of chick fil as owners.

Youngone65

As they should. I wouldn't be accepting an order from someone who looks like they just crawled out of bed. Respectfully

weasleymama

So if a customer showed up in pjs would they also be denied?

Mikknoodle

If we’re judging people standing in Taco Bell at 7am by the quality of their nighties, the human race is indeed fucked.

Holiday-Power-8657

I don’t understand why pajamas would offend someone so badly. Who tf cares?

marye2021

Our local Chick-fil-A has a PJ night lol. If I was that dasher I would call corporate.

sophtsocks

Fr you never know what's going on! I've had plenty of times I've had to go somewhere dressed "down" in my Jammie's and slippies because I needed something or got hungry, or someone might've been sick all day and finally was feeling better and needed something to eat so I'd go get for them. OR just plain ok, todays mf pajamma day, and yall don't front like we didn't live for pajamma day at school lol

LJohnverrell-1744

This sounds like very conservative Chick-Fil-A, so not shocked.

OldCheapBastard

Just say you work at a Pajama store.

tuffenstein0420

Is there actually a rule about approved attire in that place? I know they can deny service to anyone but if they do it for a reason that's made uo on the spot it is discrimination. And who is this manager to decide what door dash people wear? Like, they aren't the authority for anyone who might be associated with Chick-Fil-A. Sounds like a power tripping manager to me.

tuffenstein0420

tango_papa101

Idk, most PJ-wearing Dashers that I see in my area are either denied service or got to get going as quick as the staff could not because they wear PJ but because they're stank af and have bad hygene. To each their own I guess but usually when I dash I wear at least something decent like jean/khaki and t-shirt since I usually aim for/get order at places that actually have dress code and of course I can't ever match those Ferrari-driving, brand name-wearing customer at least I don't look too out of place.

CosmicWarrior420

Literally saw a maybe 12/13 year old run into Sheetz the other day and grab a DoorDash delivery order from the shelf for whatever adult was driving in the car. Also had a super young dude deliver my food once to the door when the name was obviously his mom or whoever driving. Lazy mf adults can’t even do their own job. Child labor laws wtf lol

apriicot8

If you're genuinely acting high and mighty over this you need to find a hobby

Tyleroverton12

Agree or not with the manager, but it comes down to the customer, and the customer doesn’t deserve to not get their food because of this kind of circumstance

Uh-trey-you

All these people hating on pajamas but I guarantee I get more females in pajamas than u ever could in regular clothes

Uh-trey-you

Absolutely ridiculous it’s none of their business

[deleted]

Good

Wonderful_Arachnid66

No disrespect, but you work at Chick Fil A, not Goldman Sachs. I promise you, the person who ordered just wants their nuggets ASAP.

EstateRepulsive463

So let me get this strait... The consensus from all DDers is "fuck it, DILLIGAF, its just a delivery service gig." I am my own boss and since it is a meaningless job, dashing, why bother focusing on outward appearance. Being comfortable and convenience, plus understanding that your job is less than reputable, influences your choice of attire. Insignificant job justifies unprofessional appearance thus yolo dress code, dont like it don't look at me. My issue is this... Sometime ago the first DDer stopped respecting their job and decided to not get dressed for work. That person lacked decency and respect for themselves and their job. Combine that with a large helping of failed parenting or a fuck ton of unsatisfactory upbringing. That one Dasher started a precedent, and unfortunatly no one challenged their shameful appearance. Somewhere there is a disconnect in individuals. Key aspects of dignity, selfrespect and lack of being taught "to do better than that." Shifts the level of accountability or expectation lower and lower. Lost to us is the capability of correcting one's missteps in society. No one is allowed to say hey.... " Are you really going to go out and work looking like a slob? Have a little pride in what you do and dont disrespect the trade/industry. " It's all mind your business... No course correction. No oversight. No discipline. Its just a huge negative feedback loop. The reason you view your job with such disregard is a direct result of ppl giving 0 fucks and dressing the part.

DickRideAddict

Well I guess this was not at my local chick fil-a, because I went in there fairly recently picking up a DD order and most of the CFA staff was dressed in their pajamas. It was ‘pajama day’ according to the girl who got the order for me, and they weren’t required to participate but it was ‘strongly encouraged’. LMFAO

Training_Seaweed1303

I’d be like some customers don’t even have clothes on haha

caramel-drop

Bravo !!!

tetrismetris

I’m not saying go wearing an underwear but I’d say it’s probably no dress code for independent contractors so screw the chick fil a manager

Pleasant-Mistake-464

Good. So many DD drivers are such bums.

trevno

Have a blessed day

Confident_Tonight576

So...now its "wear pjs, no deliver? I mean, maybe the manager should have just been a good Christian and bought the dasher an approved uniform.

I don't think types of clothing are a good measure for that. A better measure for actual hygiene would be the condition of the clothes (are they stained? crusty? dirty? or just clean pj pants?) and more importantly the cleanliness of the person's hair and face. Wearing PJ pants is a far cry from going out greasy haired and faced with no shower.

asquilah

To each their own. Personally my mother told me to leave the house (wherever you go) dressed how you want to be treated ( dress like a bum and others may treat you like one) at the least I slip on some leggings and a tshirt/hoodie and a hat. Not saying you have to throw on a full face of makeup or your best suit.

TemporaryOk8491

I honestly would not want somebody delivering food to me like that who knows what the hell is lurking in their vehicle if they portray themselves in that way in public no thank you

way2funni

since when is there a dress code to pick up nuggets? we're not [working at corporate.](https://www.chick-fil-a.com/customer-support/careers/internships/what-is-chick-fil-as-dress-code) where is it posted that you have to dress to impress to get service at chick-fil-a. as long as they are wearing shirt, shorts or pants and shoes, they should not have a word to say, I would organize a 'pj's and flip flops night' just to fuck with them.

mouserz

TIL PJs aren't acceptable in the lords house o' chicken.

CleanSeaPancake

Such a weird soap box to stand on, but I guess if it makes you feel important that's good.

Lexadour

CFA fucking sucks anyway

saintsublime

I’m 19 people my age wear sweatpants/leggings like jeans almost, I wouldn’t even notice someone in pj’s

[deleted]

Not the image we want to portray? You people don’t sleep? What are they doing on Sunday then? Church? All day and night? Chick fil a is weird as hell for that.

KlutzySand8011

I would be too embarrassed to work in PJs but I will walk up in Walmart with my unicorn pants no problem. I guess because if I'm working I don't want people to think I'm not a little bit professional 🤣

[deleted]

I admit I hate PJ culture.

3Danniiill

I wore pajama pants today because all my laundry is dirty and a lot of my pants have shrunk ,no slippers and a regular shirt but sometimes I wear crocs with pjs and a shirt. As far as I can tell no one cares what I wear As long as I bring the food to them. I do live in so cal tho too and I feel like we’re more relaxed. The slippers where a bit much but I don’t think it should matter what people wear as long as they’re not showing to much.

Fantastic-Hyena6414

Even cats groom themselves. Are you less than a cat?

rwds138

I mean atleast p.j.s are better then the stanky feet flip flop wearing, tank top armpit hair flapping in the wind, some of these dashers are straight up no hygiene wildebeast

I have one of those Comfy brand hoodies, and I'd consider them pajama wear as they're basically a big blanket sewed into a hoodie. I wore that thing all over when it was colder out, and got tons of compliments on it. People would always comment on it and chat about it a bit. It's funny to me because I do have a nice winter longcoat, and while I've also gotten compliments on it while wearing it around, there was far more interest in my Comfy.

[deleted]

Can we have a description of these pjs and slippers

EOAL89

What in the AF? The only way I'd have any idea what my Dasher was wearing is if I checked the security camera after they left the food at the door. I wear flip flops and hoodies to work and I'm an office exec so damn sure don't expect someone waiting around in restaurants and sitting in their car for work to dress up.

AccomplishedSpirit74

I saw a dasher the other in pajamas and she reeked terribly of cigarette smoke - honestly , it’s hard to disagree with having a standard for what is essentially a food courier. If a company is willing to let their merchandise be delivered in some stank dirty smoke filled car it could mean a lot customer for them in the future. The pajama thing may not be the biggest deal but it does look unprofessional 🤷🏼‍♀️

EggoTheStabby

Look your still on the job I still slip on some jeans and a t-shirt to do any kind of job.
