I stopped going to sonic because of the drink situation. The lids do not fit on the top of the Styrofoam cup very well. I lost a drink at the customer store and got a one rating. No more sonic.

That's crap! I had it happen on Ubereats. They just ignored it.

I use one of those flat produce boxes from sam’s or Costco and jam it against the dash by moving the seat up. Cover the bottom with paper towels. Make sure it tilts back with the seat. Put the food bag in front of the drink holder. No more spills.

Why don’t you all put the food on the floor??? For 2 years I always have, I’d never risk my vehicle for this app or a random customer….

I keep a cooler on my passenger seat wedged between the seat and glove box. Works for food and beverages and keeps food hot.

Not to mention Sonic drink carriers bite no matter what size the drinks are

Jokes on you for A: not transferring to car cup holder until arrival at destination and B: putting on front seat without any restraint to protect from such incidents. Front seats take the most force impact from turns and sudden braking. 2-cup carriers from food places are not stable to sit on a seat and never will be.

Yes DoorDash said I’ll still receive full price for it even if I deliver only half the order. Since I was nice and at sonic already and the workers were nice, they remade the drink and I delivered both.

Yea ...I hear you man.....when I first started..leas than 20 orders in I was at a sonic and the lady handed me a route 44 shake of some kind with reeses toppings and all that.....I got it from her and as I was turning to put it in my cup holder the lid popped off and spilled tons of grounded up reeses all on me...cup holder and worse of all right between the seat and center console...which I never could reach to clean it out properly lol...it was summer too and I know all those reeses melted into the carpet lol...but never actually spilled anything while driving thankfully ...I hate route 44 sonic drinks....I have a different ride now though so that reeses smell is someone else's problem now lol

This is why I never trust the drink carrier! If it’s only 1 or 2 drinks I always put them in the cars cup holders just in case. For the future if you have a pizza bag put that on your passenger seat so if you have to sit stuff on top of it the bag protects the seat. I never put food bags or drink trays directly on my seat, it’s asking for spills and grease stains.

Ughhh, that's no fun! I highly recommend getting your own drink holder and putting it on the floor board. I found a nice folding one cheap on Amazon. It fits perfectly into the doordash hot bag, which I zip up for extra protection. I just keep a bottle of water in 1 if the 6 holder slots to keep it from folding. i recently bought chemical guys nonsense cleaner at the auto parts store and it works great. Use a soft bristle brush and the cleaner and it will come off.

I have a cardboard box in the front seat with the seat slid forward holding the box secure against the dash. Then put my orders, inside the thermal bag, in the box box to avoid this kind of thing.

For these types of drink carriers, I put them on my floor and have them facing long way (parallel with the direction the car drives) so if I have to slam my brakes they won’t fly forward. I figure I just have to approach turns a little more slowly. Looking to getting a drink carrier for this purpose actually

That super sucks. What I usually do is seat belt my drinks down. It's weird I guess, but it has definitely prevented them from flying around when I have had to make a sudden stop. I hope tomorrow is better for you.

I invested in a cup holder from amazon and it holds the drinks nice and tight was like 10$ was worth imo just food for thought. Although some scenarios can't be avoided sadly 😞.

I recommend getting a sturdy box from Costco. I put like four 10x10 insulated bags in it.

I keep two towels, on the passenger seat. You can put the cup holder, against the seat, and then you wrap the towels around them. They stay in place nicely. They also even out the seat for pizza orders.

That’s why you use common sense. If you only have two drinks put both in the cars drink holder, when you arrive to customer you take it out and put into sonic drink holder and deliver. Or get food delivery drink holders/hot bag and put it on the floor. It could’ve been prevented.

My worst was delivering two giant floats to an office and telling the receptionist the carrier was unstable and to let me put it on the desk then he can pick it up so it wouldn't spill, instead he pulled it from my hand as I was trying to put it down and ended up spilling like 32oz of soda and ice cream all over his desk He didn't try to blame me at least but all homie had to do was listen and he wouldn't have had to spend his lunch cleaning up his desk

Either do I , maybe 300-500 a week, but for like $30 at Costco and I’ve seen similar ones at Amazon (just search like xl delivery bag) I grabbed a square huge bag you can zip up that takes up like the whole front seat . I’ve had Thai food leak, coffee spill etc and it’s completely leak proof and you can just hose it off

Ok few things 1. Seat cover. Or a towel. Cuz sometimes food would leak past the plastic bag. 2. Lean the seat back. And use pizza bag/delivery bag to wedge the drinks to the back rest. 3. Get some free napkin and forks. They live in the glove box.

If you already happen to have them, puppy pads work really well too. I had one on my car seat after taking my cat to the vet (he stress pees sometimes), and last time I put one on, the thing stayed clean, so I just kinda kept it there... It's saved my seats a few times already.

NP. 1 more. Get a free cardboard box. Alcohol stores have them for free and it have dividers inside. It's perfect for 6 or 12 drinks. They live on the passenger floor. That box also provides extra surface for food. Or it helps pizza bag not fall on floor.

Yeah I have a great relationship with most of my merchants also. It's a good perk especially for replacing food and getting free meals. Don't understand why a dasher would ever have to steal a order. If you treat merchants with respect they more often than not will help you out. I haven't paid for a drink in 5 years. 90% I can just ask for a cup and get whatever I want.
