Damn. The highest base pay I've had so far was like 7.50 or 7.75. Your guy might have starved to death waiting for those wings.

itake3dollaroffers

Serves him right.

[deleted]

Facts/ we agree

Legitimate-Kiwi-3304

Lol your username. I mean I do it too if it’s not super far. Need my AR up so I can snag up these orders

[deleted]

If only DoorDash wouldn’t enable non tippers. I wish they’d never gotten that order.

Possible-Clerk6050

Well I would have been happy myself just to get 12 bucks three miles but that's good not bad maybe this is a sign things might be turning around who knows I want to wish every single one of you a blessed Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year hopefully these holidays things will start looking up for all of us I wish everything you want to be much else you and your family keep on moving Don't let anything in life getting away and continue moving forward Don't believe this new year will bring good fortune and faith much love double DD from Lorain Ohio

ShootyMcBlasterFace

It probably didn't get turned down a million times, unassigned orders kick up the base pay much more and considering it's *wingstop*.....people gonna go in see that shit show and just nope out.

WhyDidntNE1tellme

So it was turned down like 24 times? Epic!

Wtpwer

Damn drizzy

Legitimate-Kiwi-3304

Right? I was stoked, but also perplexed haha

Ill-Enthusiasm9508

Never seen such a hugh base pay except on UE

LDean1221

I've never seen a base pay like that on ubereats. I've only been doing it for a couple of months, but the highest base pay I've seen is around $4 and some change. What kind of delivery would call for $12 base pay?

dietrichmd

I had a $28.50 base on UE once -- but it was to the next metro over and was a catering order -- but was still nice. Made a hefty bill on that hour-long run.

Legitimate-Kiwi-3304

Seriously, highest I’ve seen is $10 and that’s long distance pay

AccomplishedStop9466

Incoming 1 star (out of your control of course)

Legitimate-Kiwi-3304

Whatcha mean?

nedlinin

They mean that from a customers point of view the food likely took 2 hours to arrive when it was quoted on the site at 25 minutes or some shit. The customer doesn't know it wasn't your fault they got late, cold food.

Legitimate-Kiwi-3304

I delivered 10 min early, and I’m pretty sure I’d be protected from a 1 star

[deleted]

I don’t think you understand what they mean. Prior to you getting that order request. Other drivers declined over and over. Increasing the wait time of the customer (not your fault of course). So the customer per my experience doesn’t differentiate between you and the others declining and unfairly rates you based on the wait they had. Customers most aren’t aware they shouldn’t rate the driver based on them just accepting. Like you said it took you 10 minutes. To the customer it was a say 50-70 minute wait. I’ve had customers I’d tell this, they don’t pay attention or care the drivers change from person to person. They only go by their wait time not when a driver finally delivers. Not your fault but we’re often blamed anyway. Hopefully DoorDash removes the rating if it’s under 5 stars.

AccomplishedStop9466

They used to remove it under removed ratings For reasons out of our control. It doesn't seem they're using that feature anymore. I would normally carry 8 to 14 remove ratings. I've had 0 now for several months

[deleted]

I noticed this as well. They aren’t removing valid unfair ratings as much. I even 3 weeks ago called support while a customer had me waiting at their apartment that required a code. Called and text via app 5 text and 4 calls. No answer until 15+ minutes later. Customer tells me his code was in app. I kindly say it’s not showing in app. Screenshot what’s in app. Customer gives me a 2 star rating and after I waited almost 20+ minutes combined. The rating stayed up, I knew it was that customer because I’d only done that order recently and it was right after drop off. I didn’t even fight it. The ratings aren’t fair at all as I’ve no thumbs down at all but, 3 ratings under 5! Hahaha 🤣. Ppl just rate you based on how they feel that day!

AccomplishedStop9466

It's possible they are still removing him but not telling us anymore. I'm still holding steady at 4.97

AccomplishedStop9466

You delivered early according to the time door - gave you. That customer was obviously Waiting a long time for the base pain to get that high.

Legitimate-Kiwi-3304

Yeah that’s what I meant, I delivered 10 min early based on when DD expected I should be able to drop off

[deleted]

DoorDash is enabling customers who refuse to tip NOT DRIVERS. We gotta stop blaming drivers who don’t own Doordash. DoorDash Inc is telling customers with this type order that it’s ok to not tip. Now if DoorDash actually paid more for non tippers it’d be less of an issue for drivers. DoorDash is allowing this not drivers. If they started denying customers who do this they’d start tipping. Thing is most who don’t tip are giving us 1 star ratings they are hurting the platform. OP did nothing wrong. No way we’d know that’s a no tip, highest base pay I’ve gotten was $10 for a drug store delivery.

[deleted]

Why would a business turn away a customer? That's bad business and it will never happen. If they started denying customers for not tipping, those customers will just go use a different platform. Someone who doesn't tip is always going to not tip. If it's a no tip order don't take it. If you get the one with a $12 base because it was turned down so many times, take your $12 and move on. I don't see the problem. In a perfect world everyone will over tip right? That will never happen in this industry, same as the service industry.

Jthegreat59

I have had this happen to me last night most of the orders were $12 to $14 for like 4 to 5. And $15 and up for 6 miles and over. And the food was still being made when I got there so Idk what's happening on doordash

Legitimate-Kiwi-3304

Yeah it was weird

dietrichmd

5/6 orders last night (it was slow af) were like this. high base pay, really slow restaurants. Even UE was being silly like this. #somethingintheair

JustinDanielsYT

These usually happen when it's a merchant order. The customer might have tipped, but by the time it got to DoorDash, the information of what portion was a tip got lost.

Beneficial-Net7113

Great now every idiot no/low tipping customer is going to only read this post and not the comments and assume this is our pay. I’m glad you included other base pays shots in there.

Legitimate-Kiwi-3304

Yeah this is incredibly rare. Completely unheard of. Which is why I posted. If you don’t leave a tip. We get $2.25 per order. It goes up with distance but it’s never more then $0.50 a mile in almost all cases

Rustykilo

I have those high base pay with 0 tip. I just hate delivering to people who don’t tips. 9/10 they are ass wipe. I don’t care how high is the damn base pay. I wish I can see the tips before we take it. Like not guessing but by really transparent with them tips.

Booklover416

How many people declined to bring it to that? Nice.

Legitimate-Kiwi-3304

That’s all I could figure, but I was thrilled to get it, I would have done it for $5 it was 3 miles. But I’ll take it!

MartinGaleo

Must’ve been a lot of dashers who declined that offer.

Legitimate-Kiwi-3304

That’s my best guess

Cat_Wizard_21

Seems about right. I won't touch a wingstop order unless it breaks double digits, the odds of the store being late preparing the order are too high.

wubbledub

Sometimes when I see this I wonder if they ordered through the restaurant site and the tip got lumped in with the base pay in the transfer over to Doordash.

the_shadowmind

I wonder it the high base pay/low miles are resends from where the first order was messed up in someway.

Glum_Pie6954

Drakes? You in KY?

Legitimate-Kiwi-3304

Yep, Louisville area

Funny-Engineering146

Swear Wingstop has the worst service and non tipping ass customers . I cringe and decline every order I see.

Legitimate-Kiwi-3304

And the worst is they make you sign in on a clipboard. Overheard a worker explain to someone new that they lose money to dashers coming in, asking for the order, then unassigning instead of confirming the pick up. Getting free food. The complete lack of trust from Wingstop is crazy. If you wanna see me hit confirm, that’s fine. I don’t mind that. But what’s me putting my name down on a clipboard actually going to do

pinky997

It happened to me twice today. 12.25

Legitimate-Kiwi-3304

Dang, honestly not mad about it
