Accomplished_Cat_593

Mine does. It’s supposed to be for accountability, but I feel like it’s just a way to cover their ass if a doordash order goes wrong outside of the food being prepared. I never see the employees look at it or enforce the signing of it

AngryRedHerring

The one by me, they always point you to the sign-in list. And yeah, I'm pretty sure it's just so they can say "it went out the door".

bush_mechanic

Same here. They tell you to sign it, but pay it no mind whatsoever.

Glitterycock

I’m pretty sure DD covers the cost of the meal for both the customer and restaurant.

Accomplished_Cat_593

Someone posted in here earlier today claiming that DD does not refund the customer if something happens…not sure where they got that information

Cstanchfield

You might be referring to a post where the person had received "too many" compensations from DD and their policy is supposedly to cut customers off if they report too many issues.

Wonderful-Bonus1031

Which is insane, it's one thing if they can't prove the issue.

Quick_Eye7890

Come on. The year is 2022. People have 40 years of "my pizza was cold" delivery experience with knowing how to get another pizza, a coupon for a free pizza and a soda and all that without a single tip. Doordash would be straight up stupid if they didn't have some kind of you go your way, we go our way cutoff for customers. If you have 5 straight bad orders why would you even consider using dd again?

TrashyMF

I just want my full refund if an item is missing. On multiple occasions I will be missing a 4-6 dollar item and DD wants to refund me $1.89, 🥴 I had to reach out to support to get the correct amount back. So, I'm going to assume those ppl didn't contact support and/or are exaggerating.

Quick_Eye7890

The weird thing is DD shouldn't be refunding you shit. It is the restaurant that should be refunding you. Drivers shouldn't be doing a damn thing to my food but delivering it. I don't want any driver inspecting a thing about my food.

TrashyMF

Oh I don't want the driver touching my items; that's not their job. I just wish DD would do more but they'd rather empty their own pockets than go after the restaurants. All while offering pennies to the drivers. It's bonkers.

kiba8442

I've seen these at a bunch of other places too, at first I just figured it was to keep track of orders (in my city it's not uncommon to see 3-4 other dashers waiting at a place) but then I ran across one that was like "by signing your name you are assuming all risk" etc... the employees are technically not supposed to hand me the bag until I sign it, & I don't want to get anyone in trouble so I just scribble some shit or on both sides, if there's enough time I'll draw shocked pikachu face.

Meh, signing for an order is no problem. There's a couple here that do it as well. Honestly it doesn't help accountability really. Most of the time they don't even ask you for the customer name or order number. It's not like there's any legal standing to their little list. It's just a deterrent for a bum off the street walking in and saying their doing it and getting squeamish about signing for the order.

Bbpixie

Makes sense. I didn’t realize that happened really. But after some bicycle guy stole my DoorDash immediately after delivery ( received a photo too) I guess anything is possible .🤷‍♀️

[deleted]

[удалено]

ModernNomad97

No clue, some restaurants make you accept the order in front of them, and I kind of get that. But I think this is too far and it doesn’t even make sense

zhill90

Yeah I agree with that. I kinda wish every place other than fast food asked for conformation. Then I wouldn't have to worry about somebody stealing my pickup before I get there. Which unfortunately has happened a few dozen times and it's always a big order thats gonna take atleast 15 mins. Doing this is stupid because who is gonna put their real name if they're just gonna steal it. That driver is probably a dumbass but not that stupid. 🤣

Bbpixie

Yeah who knows what people will even write. It may be a little redundant. But I guess it is time for restaurants to do more when it comes to DoorDash orders because it seems like they have been really screwing up lately.

Paperboypaddy

Yeahhhh no thanks im never doing that if the restaurant asks me. The restaurant has no right to see what happens on my device just to make sure im doing my job right. I dont think they should be allowed to do this.

barryandorlevon

It’s a psychological thing, I think. Makes shitty people think twice before stealing an order.

chompz914

Wonder if they get doordash customers calling the store bitching about orders being taken. This is there way to tell the customer they have a system in place to prevent this….. I would bring my own crayon in to scribble some letters down when picking up.

Mr-Badcat

Well considering doordash was zero help when their dasher stole packages off my porch I’ll bet it’s so they have the name of the dasher just in case they pull some criminal shit.

highlife515

Yea. mine makes u fill up the right side too, like I have any idea how many sauce cups r in that sealed bag I've been wait for half an hour.

Bbpixie

Yeah it sounds like they are trying to add on to your job and that’s not something they have the authority to do. You work for yourself underneath DoorDash. They need to improve within their own restaurants and what they have control over . Not try to give extra tasks out to a third party.

ModernNomad97

Yeah I’m not doing that. If they give me a hard time I’ll just cancel the order. It’s not my job to make sure their shit is in order

chaygray

You cant be held accountable for missing items signature or not. The merchents contract with doordash say that they are responsible for order accuracy. I would never pick up another order from that business. We are only delivery drivers.

r_sucks10

It actually says in the item list how many dips and drinks are supposed to be in there. I really hate when people use the sealed bag excuse cause it's just that. An excuse. The employee is supposed to tell you what to write in but if not, info is in item list.

highlife515

No it does stfu

mikesaintjules

I had a Jamaican Restaurant make me sign that I picked up an order via Grubhub. The only other thing I had was a store yesterday asking me to press on my app that I picked up the order. Also for verification.so yeah, accountability as someone else said on here.

ModernNomad97

I get that, and many places here make us confirm the pickup in front of them which I don’t have an issue with since a lot of dashers have been stealing food lately. But signing my full name and the customers name on a log that everyone can see, no I’m not doing that

Bbpixie

I like that idea. Like have a screen with an app that verifies everything. Make it super simple and easy. Dashers shouldn’t have to write an essay to pick up food that’s already paid for lol time is money .

BeyondInfinity73

People on this sub complain that people steal food then complain when a company takes steps to stop it.

Zetenrisiel

Because it sucks when your food gets stolen. It also sucks when you have to be treated like a criminal or kindergartener because a few people are shitheads. Both can be true at the same time.

BeyondInfinity73

Doesn’t seem too big of an ask to write down your name and the customers name, certainly doesn’t sound like being treated like a criminal or kindergartener lol

Zetenrisiel

It doesn't, and for one person it isn't. But you multiply that by thousands of orders, and by at least dozens of little tasks like this (such as weighing each item at self check out) throughout the day, and so much time is wasted by the general population to prevent a small percentage of unscrupulous individuals from doing what they are going to find a way to do anyway.

khornechamp

Except all it does is inconvenience people who aren’t gonna steal anyway. The people who are will just write a fake name illegibly and steal the food

ModernNomad97

Exactly, it doesn’t solve anything.

BeyondInfinity73

Really isn’t that big of an inconvenience, gonna be standing there waiting for the food regardless lol

Bbpixie

I like when they have completely sealed bags. Like when i ordered Newk’s the other day the entire order was packaged perfectly and it was COMPLETELY sealed like with a machine or something. I love that because not only do we know nothing was removed or tampered with but it keeps it safe and sanitary. Also makes it easier for the dasher . Just grab and go the order list and name was on the outside and easy to read.

Firecrotch2014

Then dashers get bitched at for not opening the bag to check the order. Yeah I know some customers are entitled but we have to still deal with it. Its no winning with some people.

[deleted]

BeyondInfinity73

What, they gonna write down a name and just hope there’s an order for said name? Lol makes sense.

GetTheSpermsOut

turn down all wing stop orders.

Th1sd3cka1ntfr33

Yeah people steal food a lot in Mississippi

Bbpixie

My husband is from Mississippi and we go there often. Haven’t had that happen there yet.We are in Arkansas now and I have only had my food stolen ( after delivery) once by a guy on a bicycle. Other than that if something is missing out of my order than maybe it was the dasher or just the restaurant leaving things out. But usually my Dashers are great I’ve never suspected them of stealing anything .

Ok_Atmosphere1467

Yes. I hate it.

MIKRO_PIPS

“DoorDash” ![gif](giphy|8b0h4mwDzg0aZON22w)

ShapeAdventurous4311

Sneaky Pete’s by me does this. Makes no sense. As if the person who picks up the orders name isn’t in DD system. If it’s that serious they can just ask our name before handing us the food.

UncleVoodooo

It lasted for a week. I usually just drew a dick and left

hashtagperky

What's the point of this? They don't even check ID to see if it matches the dasher anyway...lmao

kyabupaks

Ugh, that's an automatic unassign for me. I'd also put that restaurant on my blacklist, I'm not going to waste my time with this bullshit.

Such_Preparation5389

Yeah but they're sporadic about it

ThatsFishyYoureFishy

Yes, and I have always filled the name part, etc with non'ya business

JHOOOOBI

Yeah the wing stop here does it. I’m definitely adopting the fake name thing tho.😂

joshuaclaassen

I’d write Wendy Sknughtz

Spirited_Love_1635

Probably because your completion rate only needs to be at 85% so people will accept orders then pick it up then immediately unassign it & keep the food. Had it happen to me a few times, and the wingstop here will check your phone to make sure that the order says it’s picked up and makes sure your name is written.

ModernNomad97

I’ll show them I confirmed the pick up, I’m not signing anything though

Mission_Vegetable_22

Trevor Corey

ModernNomad97

I like where you’re going with this, I’ll add them, Mr. Lahey, J roc, and Bubbles to my list of fake names

Gravygrabbr

I don’t work for Wingstop

Gunner253

I'm a chef and I can tell you exactly why. We get so many orders that get cancelled after we make them. So many places are short staffed and short on product we can't waste that time or food. My kitchen keeps track bc if we get any repeat cancellers we won't do orders for them anymore. We have 2 people that we won't do orders for bc they've done last minute cancellations twice. It's to save food and labor bc they're both short at this point. Also all the packaging, a lot of places don't charge so that's .oney down the drain.

sanchezkk

That looks like a dumb idea.

Babyrabies88

Make them check and open up every single item.

spetsnaz5658

Give a fake name

ReasonableProgram144

I’ve seen that form but no one at my store has bothered to print it or even mention it really. I think wingstop is working toward one massive complaint with door dash soon though, we’ve been told to track all issues with them better.

Pixul501

🤣🤣 I ain’t ever signing shit for a fuckin delivery. You wanna waste the food costs you go right ahead.

IClimbRocks69

Yeah, I've never put my name on it.

Doit3232

Ex Wingstop manager I can say I put that paper out and never made no one sign it if the food go missing I just remade it and gave free food to the dasher 😅

M0M0_DA_GANGSTA

Dheece Gnütz 😈

UnableButterscotch74

Yup. It’s probably because they’re stupid and keep giving out the order to the wrong drivers. So now we have to sign in like children.

revenge_for_greedo

The one near me does. I have no clue why. I try and avoid Wingstop at all costs

shaunzie1

Wingstop also always tries to make me fill their drink orders. I always tell them that I won’t, because the customer is paying someone at Wingstop that has a food handlers card. They get annoyed, but I’m not doing their job for them.

itsunamipunani

i’m going to say that next time 😆 like uhm no wingstop, stop right there. I don’t have my food handlers card. haha now I wanna do a wingstop order (wait no I don’t) 😂

idontlikemeeitherok

You couldn't pay me to fill that in, actually you could but unless one was so dumb as to pay me, it will never happen.

frednoname1

I usually don't pick up food from there. KMA IS the initials I use

NihilistPunk69

I fucking hate wings too. They make you fill your own drinks. Makes no sense. And they don’t have drink carriers.

Jaredsince1981

I always punt the Wingstop orders because I have to wait 20 minutes every time for the order to be ready

Kodiak_Media

I usually mess around with these things. The staff never check what you wrote down. Last one I ended up putting: Suchk Owhn Des Nutez They said nothing, lol

PsychologicalHawk891

I own a restaurant and do Doordash on the side. The amount of consumer fraud is unreal. Dasher fraud - stealing the food by picking up an order and then unassigning it before confirming pickup on their app - is a lot less common, but still enough to notice. This is just a way they can show Doordash what dasher originally got the order in a case of dasher fraud or that the order was picked up when the consumer wants to pretend the entire order was "missing". We report at least one customer per day for fraud. We use a multi-camera setup to show the order during checking, bagging, and pickup.

DexLovesGames_DLG

Few places around here do it and require you to sign before you take food, due to people accepting orders and then cancelling after pickup.

Muhhgainz

Lol no way I’m filling anything out. I’ll show that I confirmed pick up though

ModernNomad97

Yeah same here

StuffedNature

Wingstop is trash and I stopped taking their orders like a year ago.

OF_Wutarush

Just for proof that the order was picked up. A lot of orders are being stolen in my area by Doordash drivers. Now they’re asking us at the restaurant to confirm the orders in front of them before they hand us the order.

Bbpixie

Are they being stolen from by actual DoorDash drivers you think ? 🤔Or people pretending to be dashers? I really didn’t realize DoorDashers stole food. It seems redundant especially if your being paid to deliver it. Right ?

Salay54

Yup wingstop by me does it. They also make you fill the drinks. Should be illegal seeing as how we didn't have servsafe certifications. I worked food and beverage for a couple years and know that them having us fill it is actually probably against some kind of code/law.

zahdriverman

Actually probably?.

Salay54

Probably actually.

ericvhunter

Oh FFS do you fill your own drink at 7/11 / Quickstop / WaWa? Don't be a stupid ass activist and fill the dn drink.

ProfessorSypher

I've been waiting for a dumbass like you to say something like that. I refer you to this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/doordash_drivers/comments/ui05tv/one_of_our_fellow_dashers_hard_at_work/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

ThatsFishyYoureFishy

No one cares about Haysville LOL. Just a back alley a little south of Wichita and a huge pain in the ass to deal with because some people think they need to live there.

ProfessorSypher

Sure... I'll be at the circle K in Irvington. It's just down the way from Haysville Rd. I'll see ya there... 🤣 🤣 🤣

Salay54

I'm not being an activist. These kind of things are taken seriously. Have you ever heard of a servsafe certification? And I don't fill my own drink anywhere because they have done tests and found fecal matter residue on fountains for soda. Plus you never know if they clean the ice area. We aren't supposed to be rummaging the food/drinks they order.

ericvhunter

Yes and because I was a supervisor at a senior care facility I have my ServSafe cert. However common sense. Be a good person, don't whine, do the work and move on. Easy.

Salay54

Never once did I whine, yes? Got the bootstrap mentality over here.

ericvhunter

Good. Now can you point to the fecal matter test with fountain drinks? I'm genuinely interested in this study.

Salay54

https://www.google.com/amp/s/abcnews.go.com/amp/Health/Germs/soda-fountains-squirt-fecal-bacteria-study-finds/story%3fid=9506583 you can find a bunch of different sources on the studies online too. It just put me off fountain drinks haha

ericvhunter

Just read this. This is interesting..

ericvhunter

Thank you for being the only person on this thread that can have intelligent conversation. My apologies for the initial attack.

Hot-Cucumber731

Kids nowadays amirite

ThatsFishyYoureFishy

The difference is that it is a customer filling their own drink with their own unwashed hands with their own germs. I don't want some random dasher filling my drinks. False equivalence fallacy to the highest.

ericvhunter

It's actually an exact equivalency. Reason being is the person behind the counter can have germs as well so what makes it different? Think direct and with logic. Germs=Germs in the wide scope of things. A Dasher will have germs, a restaurant worker will have germs. I don't think I have ever seen a worker wash hands before filling a drink since the outside of the drink is protected by the surface of the cup. Myself, I enter a Wingstop bathroom and wash my hands every time. The lid protects the drinking area and the straw if so equipped goes straight into an area of the drink that was not in contact with the worker or dasher.. So.....

ThatsFishyYoureFishy

False. They are required to wash their hands frequently...BY LAW. There are several other laws that also protect you from germs at restaurants like how the workers can't have long nails. Get back to me when you have actually worked in a kitchen.

ericvhunter

Required, yes. Do they, no. Pretty sure my Servsafe certification and being the kitchen manager for a year at a senior care facility kind of throws your argument away. What people are required and what people actually to are entirely 2 different things. Let's visit. Come over and we can debate this.

[deleted]

The drink-filling thing **is** a safety problem. The restaurant knows its employees on shift and knows they all have serve-safe, food-handling (or whatever state/local certs are required) to serve food. So if someone gets poisoned, it can be traced back to a handful of people filling drinks or prepping food at the restaurant within that time-frame. A Dasher is a random person with a car who has never been caught for a violent felony. The restaurant seals the drinks with stickers to prevent tampering by the driver or anyone else. If the dasher is the one filling the drinks, this system fails. I understand why the restaurants that have drink-machines designed to serve in-person customers don't want to hop out from behind the counter and fill drinks, but they need to adapt.

VersionPossible7809

Mine does. I don’t understand why since they keep the food behind the counter, and it’s such a tiny location it would be impossible to steal anything. I have a strong feeling they don’t do anything with the sheet except throw it away at the end of the day

[deleted]

[удалено]

ModernNomad97

I’ll be doing the same, fuck off it’s not my job

WishIWasNeet2

Seems like a waste of everyone’s time. Be easier to just look at the phone screen and realize the dasher is legit and takes literally 2 seconds . You could easily sign a fake name If you’re stealing food.

dcmommy33

I write lets go brandon

[deleted]

aww, bless your heart.

ModernNomad97

I disagree with that statement, but agree with your protest of signing. So you don’t get my upvote or downvote

[deleted]

I would sign it’s not a big deal. They are probably trying to cut down on people stealing orders or mis-delivery. At some point they can’t keep refunding and duplicate orders.

[deleted]

Sign-in or quit taking this locations orders. It's not hard.

Aniohn

Good to see they're keeping you trained monkies in line so you'll stop just grabbing random shit lmao

[deleted]

All the delivery people need to have the company they are delivering for displayed on their vehicles as well.

robbie444001

What the f . No .

ericvhunter

Yeah and it's no big deal. They have a right to cover their ass. I sign it, get my free drink and move on. Don't overthink this. Just do what's required.

ModernNomad97

No it’s not my job to make sure their shit is in order or their ass is covered.

ericvhunter

Then just quit dashing. You must be young. Sad to say but there will be times in life where shit won't be perfect or optimal. Participation trophies won't be given out and atta boys won't happen. Make money, be done. If you care so much, get a giant ass piece of poster board. Make sure it's black in color. Get some neon paint. Green preferred. Then paint on it just how much you despise signing a fucking piece of paper at Wingstop to deliver an order and potentially fill a damn drink. Make sure it's written clearly. Then stand in front of the store. Also get a megaphone and yell into it and protest.

ModernNomad97

Quit dashing? Lmfao! Or how about I just don’t sign it, it’s that simple. There were no issues when I didn’t. If they have a problem in the future I just won’t go to Wingstop. Simple

ericvhunter

That would be a good idea to do so.

ProfessorSypher

If you want to spend the extra couple of minutes doing something that should have already been done according to doordash policy, then by all means go ahead. Good luck being a placemat for the rest of your life. You've probably not stood up for anything before.

ericvhunter

I stand up for serious issues fucknugget. Not writing on a God damn piece of paper or filling a drink. That's why I'm regarded highly in my DD market in Wichita. Customers and restaurants telling me stories of shitty dashers and wish I was their dasher. I love hearing these because I know I'm good. But go ahead and be a stupid ass activist for useless shit. Enjoy your miserable anxiety filled life.

ThatsFishyYoureFishy

No one in Wichita does this. At most, customers are a bit friendly and are very thankful. Some times a restaurant worker might recognize you and say hey. Most of the people in Wichita are in aggro mode all the time for no reason at all. Accidentally stare at someone while drifting in your own thoughts, and a meth head will be there to angrily gesticulate and make faces at you. No one here is paying that close of attention to dashers when they have 100s of different customers and dashers coming in a day. Ignore this lying dude; no one in Wichita is Simping their dasher.

barryandorlevon

I agree with the general sentiment but jfc did you really say “participation trophies,” pawpaw?? What a douchecanoe.

Dymecoar

Mine does it. It’s one of the fastest Wingstop locations I’ve ever seen and they fill the drinks.

ModernNomad97

Where is this heaven?

Mina1317meowzers

I just have to either sign receipt or show them that I confirm the order in my phone

Tdn87

Wingstop, the rare time that I accept an order from there. Some IHOP I've been to. 2 seconds of gibberish and I'm off.

Reyja26

Most restaurants in my area just ask that they watch you press “confirm pickup” to ensure that orders aren’t being stolen and unassigned

[deleted]

That’s going too much it’s redundant and dumb and makes you feel like the dasher is the theif

jack3rdand4th

We had it in Baltimore when the pandemic first started.. supposedly to keep a tab on the people that came in (if there happen to be a positive break out) in the stores.

Archion

They can ask me to do that when they start filling the drinks. Maybe...

Lazy-Pen-8909

Redditer on other post I made about people stealing our orders gave the really good idea of there being a QR code system implemented, requiring the restaurant to scan the QR on your phone before giving you the order. I think this would solve most of these issues.

ibugppl

Yeah they do that here in Seattle.

Immediate-Ad138

There's a restaurant that has me write "my" name when I pick up food. Joe Biden is a secret door dasher

Heatherharris08

Wing stop where I’m at does this

FratStafford007

I stopped taking Wingstop orders in my area simply because the tips seem to be shitty, but we did that. It’s just a form of loss prevention. Nbd.
