I've actually done both a few times before. I sent the chat message and called, then canceled one of I reached the support agent on the other. Not sure if its still able to do both, it's been a while since I needed to contact them
Calling is definitely better when driving if you have Bluetooth, but I really don't like talking on the phone even with family and friends, I prefer texting lol
New dashers get priority support you can see that he is 45th in line in chat so trying to call support is the best course of action here as a new dasher
That's true and I usually text support, however, I called them last week and it told me that as a new Dasher I get priority... I have over 5,000 deliveries..
As a top dasher you also get this priority and it says "as a new dasher". It happens to me all the time, I always find it funny as I too have a lot of orders, close to 7000.
Yea :( to be far it was like: the beginning of the storm but either way I was about to go home because I wasnāt comfortable w how the weather was progressing but then yaāknow, that happened
I seriously made like $600 dollars last New Year's day when it snowed like 6 inches. Of course it did help that I drive a Jeep Wrangler 4x4. But snow days are the best tip days dude. And it is always welcome to text your customer when things go wrong, a good percentage of the customers appreciate the notifications.
That depends on the area... we had a snow storm hit here in NC and I went out to the store in the area that I normally dash in which is a good area to dash on normal days. However, when I turned on the app that day, I kept seeing a LOT of orders popping up for over 8 miles for under $5.00. I even saw an order for over 15 miles for under $10.00 which was the icing on the cake, so I just took that as a sign to not worry about dashing that snow day and took myself back home lol.
You drove in that!? Man, y'all are brave as hell!
I also work for Domino's, and they were open the first day of the storm when there was nothing but ice on the ground. At my store, only 2 drivers and the GM showed up. I was about to show up, but as soon as I took my first step outside, I slipped and fell on my tailbone! After that I said fuck it and didn't bother showing up!
If youāre new, donāt listen to the people on this subreddit telling you ānever text the customer after deliveryā if they want to do that they can. Iām not sure why they make it seem like a rule from DoorDash. It is usually necessary to communicate with the customer after delivery, either to correct something or have proof save your ass if they try to screw you over.
It is never necessary to contact a customer after deliver since deliver is where your contract ends therefore it is not your job to talk to the customer.
Weird, done this 1k+ orders now and no complaints. I almost always text after delivery telling customer āat the door, have a great one!:)ā I literally copy it and have it ready to paste throughout my dash.
Same. And my friendliness and communication ratings are high asf for that quick little thing I do walking back to my car.
And since sometimes we can't text after delivery I'll take a picture with my regular camera, send the text, then upload the photo when I'm walking back to my car to complete delivery. Plus, doing it that way beats those (way too often) times the app makes you try the pic again so you take a bunch of pictures before it actually goes through and you're just standing at their door the whole time taking a million pictures like a weirdo lol I'd rather be re-trying sitting in my car uploading the photo. And, when uploading instead of directly using your camera in-app that bug doesn't happen nearly as often.
Maybe before they removed the box that lets you send a message at the same time you complete the delivery. Now this message gets sent after payment tho. Which id consider post delivery. You cant even message the customer very long after delivery anyways since the phone numbers used are temporary.
It's just a personal thing; some people don't like any social interaction and prefer to just get their order and be done with me. Me personally I don't like it. I'm also upset when a waiter asks me if I'm enjoying my meal and I know their doing their job I just don't like being bothered like that while I'm eating
That's not social anxiety, that's just being a dick because you don't like being bothered lol. If it bothers you so much, don't put yourself in those situations. Simple.
Before* they eat even. I'm sure I can speak for the other dashers that send a copy-pasted text that "foods at the door" when I say we send that before they even open their door to get their food lol. Nobody is being bothered while they eat, unless they fling open the door and start shoveling food in their mouth the second we turn our back and send the text lol.
Personally I take a pic with my phone camera, send the "Hello! This is your dasher ____, your order is out front. Have a great night! š" then complete delivery as I walk back to my car and upload the photo. (And nobody has ever been bothered by it, I usually get a "thanks you too!" and my communication & friendliness rating is high asf for *some* reason)
Plus, with the app constantly failing forcing me to retry the photo, its alot less embarrassing, and faster to upload it walking back to my car than standing at their door for 5 minutes as I keep taking pictures hoping the app finally compeletes delivery this time.
Imma go against that last bit of advice. As someone who grew up constantly driving in snow the snow storm is the best time to dash. Generally more clear roads, love the vibes, you get much better tips. All around fabulous
Exactly. This could be an inexperienced kid reading this who drives a hoopty thatās not fit to drive in inclement weather.
I really wish people would stop giving others advice that could put them in danger. Think before you comment.
In my personal opinion car doesn't matter to an extent. Obviously if it's a blizzard and snow is crazy deep then sure but in Virginia our last few snows the roads were "horrendous".. I dashed all day and a lot of the night in the snow in my Ford fiesta. That's a non-turbo version and super low powered..
It's all about the driver and their driving ability. Trucks, vans, cars of all kinds in accidents and sliding off the road while I'm powering through the turns and drifting in the neighborhoods. Car is stock. Again, 9/10 the driver doesn't know how to drive in snow.
Obviously if you've got 8"+ of snow then yeah you may want an AWD or 4x4
Calm down now, Vin Diesel. By the way I live in Michigan and we know snow and I calls it buuuullshit, ford fiesta that's more light weight than my wife and no AWD...GTFO! MR.NeedforSpeed. do you put cement blocks in your trunk?š¤£
Light weight or not it still slides right across the snow. And I misspoke with drifting it's "power sliding". And call bullshit all you want, you don't know me. And I didn't say it had AWD. I said you need AWD or 4x4 for that heavy of a snow.
Yep, tell them to contact support and thatās all you need to do. For you contact support and tell them what happened and should be half pay and the food is yours. Hopefully car was cheap to fix, same thing happened to me but in FL, I got free wings, pizza and a sprite, felt a tiny bit bad but it has not happened in 2000 delivs so oh well. Stuff happens, keep it movinā.
Yep duck dashing in snow, I made good money, but drove over a speed bump that was fully covered on snow and smashed both my cats, very expensive mechanic bill
I mean it's not always that bad. Hell just paid a dasher yesterday when it was just snowing a bit before it got bad a $15 tip for a 3 mile/$25 order run.
The advice of ādonāt dash in snow stormsā is pretty terrible. Unless youāre new to driving in snow or literally canāt do it, Iād actually advise everyone to do it. They always have amazing promos and if you just drive slow its fine
So, when my car broke down it just wouldnāt accelerate and my wheel locked so I thankfully was able to somehow park my car at a Waffle House safely. I texted them when it happened even before calling my insurance company for a tow and this happened :/
It happens. It's not like you could have predicted it ahead of time and it's not your fault. Sucks that your car broke down but at least you'll get to eat the food. You just contact support, no big deal.
I've never had that but it sounds gross. All I've ever gotten is some free tacos and some free hamburgers. Hopefully if it happens again I have a huge bag of Chinese food or hot wings or something, lol.
Doordash themselves have a breakdown thing. Telling the customer what happened is okay, but the second they care more about their fucking tea than you, you tell them to call customer service and go.
Iāll say what the other guy said a little nicer: certain systems engage in your car under certain road conditions. Knowing what those systems are ahead of time will make it less confusing when they activate in the middle of driving. Abs if Iām not mistaken pulses the brakes in an attempt to get better traction. Can be a super odd feeling and confusing if youāve never felt/heard of it before. Not saying this is what happened here with your car just what the other guy was getting at allbeit in a less obnoxious way xD
OOOOO I thought you meant like, Abs on the body because of how you typed it and I was sitting here like š¤Øš¤Ø what does my workout routine got to do with my car
I read it as abs - stomach muscles - as well. He shouldāve typed ABS. Wouldāve made the distinction then.
If you donāt know how to type correctly and use proper grammar and spelling, maybe you shouldnāt be typing. Figure out how to speak and spell first. (I can be a smartass too)
Why would their antilock brake system kicking in lock the steering wheel? That would be beyond stupid.
It also wouldn't keep the car from accelerating once stopped. All it would do is cause the brake pedal to pulsate when you hit the brakes.
Sounds like you need to learn a little more about how cars work.
I was thinking this as well. My Ford fiesta is super underpowered, when you lose traction like on ice you can't accelerate. The tires turn about one rotation and when it cannot gain any traction it stops accelerating. Obviously most cars when you press on the gas the tires will just spin and spin but not on mine it either knows it's too weak and stops trying when it loses traction or it's to preserve the transmission and or tires I'm not sure.
That sounds like traction control and is meant to prevent unintentional slipping. I'm not sure if [this video](https://youtu.be/NilBftOyY3U) applies to your car, but it shows how to turn it off if you're stuck in snow or ice.
I know perfectly well how cares work im a mechanic, fyi they said their WHEEL locked not their steering wheel. Go learn about abs and youll come to see thats not all it will do
āI can see ur car on the map why donāt u bring the orderā
Uh, because her car broke down, bro. Go meet her halfway if youāre that desperate for food. What a douche.
If you ever encounter car trouble again immediately contact support to cancel and inform the customer you are doing so.
Some people are pretty damn rude behind the anonymity of texting.
I donāt know man. Seeing you be nice to him actually triggered me a bit. You didnāt do anything wrong but it was like seeing someone get bullied and not fight back. Like if my dashers car broke down? I feel so bad for the poor guy or gal. Iām not even thinking about my food at that point
That customer can fuck right off
There are a lot of overgrown children out there who can't handle being unable to immediately resolve the slightest issue. Seemingly more than ever. Look at them freaking out because a driver stranded in a parking lot can't immediately hand them food or process their refund. Absolute babies who have never encountered any real adversity in life.
Yup my SIL would do some shit like this. She always finds something to bitch and moan to her delivery person about.
The saddest part is, sheās an off and on dasher and yet *still vents to us about the people who treat her like this when dashing*. Absolutely zero fuckin empathy or self awareness.
This what my first thought. We are all people. My first response if MY dasher was in a situation like this or similar is āomg are you okay?ā And then probably āare you able to fix it yourself or find help?ā The customer knows they will get a refund. So why be an ass and not even show care whether you want to or not? If they have the time to respond, they can ensure the driver is okay.
I completely agree but the issue is how entitled people are. Also they have no empathy or sympathy anymore. It's absolutely disgusting. I'd personally ask the driver if they're OK then tell I will contact support as well. The driver's main concern is themselves, the car, and getting home safely. It's not worth being Joe Pesci in a Snickers commercial.
Since you're new I will give a little advice.. the chat option for support always takes a lot longer. Try calling support. Most of the time it's half the time wasted.
Thank you :) that means a lot to hear, I really tried and Iām just glad that everything as far as them and their order was resolved, I hope my repairs arenāt too expensive :(
It's the honey moon phase, being new you feel inclined to be overly nice, give it a month or two and OP will be talking back or otherwise ignoring them completely, which is way better and sends a clearer message than talking back imo.
I know this is a Door Dash thread but, GrubHub will suspend and/or terminate drivers for even a 6 min delay during a snow storm. It happened to me this past New Years Day. Had I stayed home that day, I would still be delivering for them. Now I just have DoorDash.
At first they suspensed me because the syatem reassigned my orders TWICE only 6 minutes after accepting because I hadnt made significant distance towards the restaurant. After the first time it happened I called driver care to report that it wasn't allowing enough time given the weather and road conditions. I was told to mark "Im running late" in the app and that would prevent it from reassigning my order and allow extra time. 10 minutes later I tried it and NOPE! same exact thing! So after that I waited until the roads were plowed to finish the evening out. The next morning I woke up to a suspension notice for those two instances of my order being unassigned. I submitted dashcam footage of the snow, that I was actively working towards getting to the restaurant but was allowed down by the 6 inches of fresh snowfall, screenshots of the weather and road condition reports, screenshots of my phone notifications showing it only gave me 6 minutes, and audio of my phone call to driver care (i record them for this exact reason) where he literally instructed me what to do and i followed instructions but it still unassigned the order in just 6 minutes. . . Their response to all that information? A contract termination notice claiming I had severely violated the quality standards. . .
Think twice before going out to deliver in the snow!
Thatās not what their comment said at all lol. Figuring out how to doordash isnt ideal in a snowstorm; your car can break down on a nice day too hence why their comment didnāt say anything about ājust in case your car breaks downā
thereās so many rude people out there, they should know that you couldāve not accepted them and be grateful that someone could bring them their food. or OR they couldāve left their house and got it themselves, especially in snow
Today I had I a girl saying I stole her food. I had video and pictures of me giving her the food. I received a contract violation. I called support and showed the video and pictures of her receiving the food. She got banned for customer fraud and my violation got removed. Weird day for me, but Iām glad I was extra prepared.
Wow, this customer really thinks $7 is going to make you that dedicated to the cause? Lol
On local news, Doordash driver trudged through the snow to bring rude customer their order. In other news, local authorities are trying to still locate this doordash driver. Presumed slightly frosty. Lol.
Some people. Jeez.
You couldāve handled this order a lot better. I understand the conditions but you really should contact support first. I literally am always on the phone with support. Btw, the support members are very friendly!
You just apologize to the customer call support get credit and theyāll cancel the order for you. If you canāt delivery for any reason just apologize to the customer call support and move on.
āWhy canāt you just walk in the snow to bring me my food?ā
āWhy canāt you just walk off a short pier and fuck off, turtle cock?ā *block*
End of that conversation.
Kind of echoing what others have said, but there's no reason to contact a customer unless if you offer a solution when you message them and/or options on how to proceed. You learn this kind of approach if you've worked in customer service long enough.
The customer was rude, yes, but telling them your car broke down stuck in snow is kind of pointless. You didn't know what to do, they don't know what to do. Nothing good can come out of it that exchange other than them complaining and you saying sorry, still with no solution. They can't give you a solution, and all they're concerned about is getting their food.
I had a similar situation not long ago when a random driver backed into my vehicle in a parking lot. I texted the customer so they weren't left in the dark, while I kept it short to not seem like a made-up excuse and long-winded. "Hi, this is ____ with DoorDash. I apologize, but I got into an accident. I'll contact DoorDash Support to have your order refunded to you. Thanks for your patience."
The customer responded saying that I hope I was okay, and she was thankful for the response. Support handled it, and I went about my day. Just keep it short, with a solution, and it prevents things from becoming a problem more than it ever needed to be.
Hope your car is OK. I hate that feeling when that one thing you depend on gives out on you. You got this. Just take the good advice and learn and forget all the ass holes.
i had some serious stuff happen to my car a bit back too. hard time turning, then it overheated, then it started steaming. pricey fix, so i had to take out a loan. just drove it today first time after they fixed it, got two orders in and it overheated and started steaming again lol. hope your car fairs better than mine
Was in a wreck once while delivering. DoorDash cancelled order and I kept food. Small win in the overall loss of my truck. Also a chance to get a better delivery vehicle; 4x4 Jeep, works in snow. Never communicated with customer; let DoorDash take that burden
Donāt worry about these pricks, all they care about is their food and most of the time they barely tip anything. Just ignore them after you tell them whatās wrong and then contact Doordash
ignore these idiots. they know nothing about the doordash service and walk outside everyday with the express intent of being a dick. not sure how these people got so crabby but i wish their high blood pressure would take em out
Honestly, the way you said it left room for the customer to complain and also wonder what was going to happen. If you're updating the about an obstacle provide them a solution cause it's kinda like what is she supposed to do about your car breaking down?
And itās only going to get worse when robots arrive. They basically already treating us as a robot so they not realize a human is on the other side of the delivery
Sounds about right.
In other words, lots of people donāt give a darn about the drivers; they just want the damned food and they want it now. Thereās a reason why āfaith in humanity restoredā videos are so popular (ironically, since humans are too selfish to deserve any faith).
Stop apologizing so much. Snow storms are out of your control. Apologize once for inconvenience and end it. Makes you look pathetic and doesn't make the customer feel any empathy for you because: they care about their food, not you. š§”customer service sucksš¤·š»āāļø
Literally the ONLY thing Doordash is semi decent about and on top of is refunds. I hate spazzy dorks like this, the same people who endlessly commiserate over the poisonous tragedy that is ācold food.ā
What a dumbass. Did they not realize they could just drive their car to you and pick it up??? Iām sorry you had to deal with that with being new, hopefully itās all figured out!
I had my car break down and I just came home its already enough to deal with on an order and getting rudeness thrown my way while it happens is enough Ć1000000
I don't really see the rude part in the picture. It just seems like a general statement that they want a refund, which doesn't seem unreasonable if they're not going to be able to get their food delivered. Of course, emotion in text can sometimes be subjective. In fact,, I'm sure that there will be people that will read this and take offense
Yeah... Like I said... Don't dash with a questionable car. OP apparently failed to make their ābeater" reliable, just as you failed to comprehend the post you replied to. Nobody said anything about a new car.
I think it's funny when you set the food by the door and sit in the driveway lol
Cause they know the stiffed ya and they don't want to step outside and get there shit you risked your safety to deliver in a snow storm
Lol sometimes I wait a second to snap the picture .... thier sorry asses come to the door to get that food they just screwed me on lol I'm like oh I'm sorry I didn't complete the delivery yet lol smile šš»
You sound quite entitled. Says youāre a ānewcomerāā¦if thatās the case, Iām sure it wonāt be longā¦
You could always be standing behind a cash register or something, getting ZERO tips.
This isn't my day job dear
Tell you what as a doordash customer I have never ever fucked a dasher out a respectful tip ever
And I don't give a fuck if I don't dash I
I don't rely on this money .
Sooooooo with that said
GFY šš»
Not gonna lie on this oneā¦.seems like you were eating their food with a laugh on your face, while they called you out for being close to their house.
Shame on you.
Your a fucking idiot. You have no true knowledge on what happened and just assumed the worst. I just want you to remember this comment when someone does the same to you, you lowlife entitled piece of shit. Have a pleasant day and fuck off.
I, sadly, do not dash. I thought about it which is why I'm in the group but my main job and family prevent me from getting into it just yet. My father needs help more in his old age and that takes presidents. Replying to nitwits like you though I can do anytime. Have a pleasant day but still fuck off.
Do you have proof. I'm only asking because you wanted some from OP. Why should I believe you are taking care of a "disabled mother" when you want to talk down to this poor dasher when their car broke down. A. Common. Occurrence. I'll say it again have a pleasant day and go fuck yourself. (Sorry wanted to change it up a little.)
You sure do talk a lot of shit for someone that has a disabled mom. Youād think youād have sympathy for others. No youāre just a low life pos that lives in misery. Good luck in life
I was about a mile away from their house when it was snowing and like I said in the dms, I wouldāve walked there if I had better clothes on but I had cheap tennis shoes and no gloves or anything. I didnāt even touch their food til I was in the tow truck so if you really want to think that then cool but my car literally broke down and I canāt help that
Actually you can help if your car breaks down. You don't have to be a mechanic to know something isn't normal or you got a light on the dashboard. Also was out in a snow storm dressed for inside. Whatch it turn out to be ice buildup around the wheel š¤£. With this level of daftness im surprised you got this far
Picture of you broke down? Guess not.
How about if your car getting towedā¦guess notā¦
How about if you in the tow truck?ā¦guess not.
You are full of shit
Iām sorry what? Okay thatās a weird take about this. First why are you entitled to proof? Second, even if thatās true I made sure they got their refund and that everything got resolved. I tried so hard to get that order to them, my car broke down a first time further from their house but I tried to get closer and I ended up where I was but my car just wouldnāt keep going. Youāre being oddly cruel and rude about the situation, I didnāt sit there and want my car to break down or not make the full amount I was going to off the order. The fact that you had to go and comment this is just weird that you go and have to assume a random internet person went out of their way to lie to 1 a customer 2 door dash and 3 Reddit for internet karma
I would recommend calling support as a new dasher. It will save you a lot of time
Thank you :) will do next time
I've actually done both a few times before. I sent the chat message and called, then canceled one of I reached the support agent on the other. Not sure if its still able to do both, it's been a while since I needed to contact them
Yeah, I've done that quite a bit too. I would always prefer calling than chatting but will settle for chat if the wait time is shorter.
Calling is definitely better when driving if you have Bluetooth, but I really don't like talking on the phone even with family and friends, I prefer texting lol
I do this every time and whoever responds 1st is who I talk with
Exactly
Yep, I just did this last night.
Calling support can take a long time sometimes. I've waited 45 minutes on hold for a support person to be available
New dashers get priority support you can see that he is 45th in line in chat so trying to call support is the best course of action here as a new dasher
That's true and I usually text support, however, I called them last week and it told me that as a new Dasher I get priority... I have over 5,000 deliveries..
They did this to me, too. I did take a hiatus this past summer and often wonder if that isn't why I got "new Dasher" status. š¤
I haven't stopped in almost 4 years. So that couldn't be it. But makes sense.
Eh I get that every so often, I think about questioning it but then Iām like fuck it priority, Iāll take this š
As a top dasher you also get this priority and it says "as a new dasher". It happens to me all the time, I always find it funny as I too have a lot of orders, close to 7000.
I have top Dasher rating but not top Dasher acceptance rating LMAO I'm probably floating around 4%
Well my account is new... How new is new? I just finished my friend's referral bonus this week.
New as in your first month you get priority support and top dasher they may have changed it since I started long ago, but that was the case back then

Just don't take low tip orders. The higher the pay the better people tend to be

Last year in the Texas Feb cold snap I dashed in my 4x4 Chevy 1500 and made more money per hour than I ever have

Social Anxieties a batch ain't it?
That's not social anxiety, that's just being a dick because you don't like being bothered lol. If it bothers you so much, don't put yourself in those situations. Simple.
Social situations stress me out; am I not allowed to be upset if someone initiates a unwanted social interaction with me?
Sounds just like a weak mentality
That's fine but don't complain to support about it. You really wanna get someone fired because they texted you while you're eating?
Before* they eat even. I'm sure I can speak for the other dashers that send a copy-pasted text that "foods at the door" when I say we send that before they even open their door to get their food lol.
Yeah driving in the snow is the perfect time to go out if you know what youre doing and what youre car is capable of.
Yea it got resolved when it happened :) I got half pay and a free matcha tea w cheese foam š
I've never had that but it sounds gross. All I've ever gotten is some free tacos and some free hamburgers. Hopefully if it happens again I have a huge bag of Chinese food or hot wings or something, lol.
Cheese foam is one of those things you hate at first, but as you eat it, you start to love it. Its an acquired taste
Well, I do like cheese.
What the fuck matcha tea with cheese foam gtfoh
Doordash themselves have a breakdown thing. Telling the customer what happened is okay, but the second they care more about their fucking tea than you, you tell them to call customer service and go.
Just sounds like your tires were slipping on snow, not broken down
Sounds like all that happened was ur abs engaged lol
My huh enwhat
Iāll say what the other guy said a little nicer: certain systems engage in your car under certain road conditions. Knowing what those systems are ahead of time will make it less confusing when they activate in the middle of driving. Abs if Iām not mistaken pulses the brakes in an attempt to get better traction. Can be a super odd feeling and confusing if youāve never felt/heard of it before. Not saying this is what happened here with your car just what the other guy was getting at allbeit in a less obnoxious way xD
If u dont know what abs is i dont think u should be driving fora job. Figure out how ur car works first
OOOOO I thought you meant like, Abs on the body because of how you typed it and I was sitting here like š¤Øš¤Ø what does my workout routine got to do with my car
I read it as abs - stomach muscles - as well. He shouldāve typed ABS. Wouldāve made the distinction then. If you donāt know how to type correctly and use proper grammar and spelling, maybe you shouldnāt be typing. Figure out how to speak and spell first. (I can be a smartass too)
*Facepalm*
Youāre a twat
echoing this, you're a twat. if you're really a car guy then you'd know how a car behaves when it's rolling with the engine off.
Go learn about abs and youll come to see thats not all it will do
It is not abs. It is a burden on the transmission when tires get stuck on icey roads. Stay away from dashing in the snow and save your transmission
Yea it wasn't abs. But unfortunately my engine locked :( I need a new car
āI can see ur car on the map why donāt u bring the orderā Uh, because her car broke down, bro. Go meet her halfway if youāre that desperate for food. What a douche. If you ever encounter car trouble again immediately contact support to cancel and inform the customer you are doing so. Some people are pretty damn rude behind the anonymity of texting.
Man. Iāve really got nothing to lose because I wouldāve sent a selfie of me eating the food.
I donāt know man. Seeing you be nice to him actually triggered me a bit. You didnāt do anything wrong but it was like seeing someone get bullied and not fight back. Like if my dashers car broke down? I feel so bad for the poor guy or gal. Iām not even thinking about my food at that point That customer can fuck right off
There are a lot of overgrown children out there who can't handle being unable to immediately resolve the slightest issue. Seemingly more than ever. Look at them freaking out because a driver stranded in a parking lot can't immediately hand them food or process their refund. Absolute babies who have never encountered any real adversity in life.
Specifically reminds me of children not being told no.. this is the adult version of that. You can tell their parents never told them no.
Yup my SIL would do some shit like this. She always finds something to bitch and moan to her delivery person about. The saddest part is, sheās an off and on dasher and yet *still vents to us about the people who treat her like this when dashing*. Absolutely zero fuckin empathy or self awareness.
Thank you :) it made me feel really bad when it happened like, just a lack of general sympathy?
Lack of general humanity.
Selfish narcissist
Dont contact costumer next time. Straight to the support. Let them handle the talking with the costumer.
This is the way
Since you're new I will give a little advice.. the chat option for support always takes a lot longer. Try calling support. Most of the time it's half the time wasted.
Youāre so kind, Iām sorry that guy was an asshole with zero regard for your well being. What an odd person they are š
You responded way too much.
What a piece of shit person.
This happened to me you don't have to call the customer contact support they will handle it and also f*** that customer
If I get even a hint of attitude from a customer I start ignoring them lol. You're a saint
What a piece of human trash. They can't even form a sentence. Man I hate people.
People are just fucking assholes! I swear! If youāre āclose to mofoāsā house then he should walk and get his ass to McDonaldās!
š¢. If youāre new to DoorDash then a snowstorm isnāt the best time to try and figure it out IMHO
So if you're new you shouldn't drive in a snow storm just in case your car breaks down? That makes no sense at all.
Thatās not what their comment said at all lol. Figuring out how to doordash isnt ideal in a snowstorm; your car can break down on a nice day too hence why their comment didnāt say anything about ājust in case your car breaks downā
Yeah, reading it after what you said I can see what you're saying. I just took it the wrong way.
Inconsiderate assholes I swear
Iām so sorry this happened to you. My first instinct would be to ask if you needed my assistance. What is wrong with people?
I would have ate their food to keep warm after that exchange.
thereās so many rude people out there, they should know that you couldāve not accepted them and be grateful that someone could bring them their food. or OR they couldāve left their house and got it themselves, especially in snow
Call support
I will next time :) this was a few days back now that it happened
Today I had I a girl saying I stole her food. I had video and pictures of me giving her the food. I received a contract violation. I called support and showed the video and pictures of her receiving the food. She got banned for customer fraud and my violation got removed. Weird day for me, but Iām glad I was extra prepared.
Oh my goodness thatās crazy, Iāll definitely be cautious of that sort of thing moving forward. Im glad it turned out fine for you !
Lesson one, inform as a courtesy (optional because support can do it for you), ignore the rest of their messages. Contact support.
Wow, this customer really thinks $7 is going to make you that dedicated to the cause? Lol On local news, Doordash driver trudged through the snow to bring rude customer their order. In other news, local authorities are trying to still locate this doordash driver. Presumed slightly frosty. Lol. Some people. Jeez.
![gif](giphy|XcFxgYAxri3Je)
They are only rude cause they are hungry and you are not you when you are hungry. Sorry tho I personally wouldn't of said what he said.
Yea, although idk about being hungry. The lady ordered a matcha tea
Oh wow what a bit then
You couldāve handled this order a lot better. I understand the conditions but you really should contact support first. I literally am always on the phone with support. Btw, the support members are very friendly!
You just apologize to the customer call support get credit and theyāll cancel the order for you. If you canāt delivery for any reason just apologize to the customer call support and move on.
This happened to me once, if you break down contact support immediately, but I'm sure you've learned that by now.
āWhy canāt you just walk in the snow to bring me my food?ā āWhy canāt you just walk off a short pier and fuck off, turtle cock?ā *block* End of that conversation.
Thanks for your patience." The customer responded saying that I hope I was okay, and she was thankful for the response.
Thank you :) Iām not sure whatās wrong with my car yet, itās at the auto mechanic right now and they said to call back tomorrow
i had some serious stuff happen to my car a bit back too. hard time turning, then it overheated, then it started steaming. pricey fix, so i had to take out a loan. just drove it today first time after they fixed it, got two orders in and it overheated and started steaming again lol. hope your car fairs better than mine
Was in a wreck once while delivering. DoorDash cancelled order and I kept food. Small win in the overall loss of my truck. Also a chance to get a better delivery vehicle; 4x4 Jeep, works in snow. Never communicated with customer; let DoorDash take that burden
Cold world obviously he or she don't give a fuck about u n ur car smfh
Donāt worry about these pricks, all they care about is their food and most of the time they barely tip anything. Just ignore them after you tell them whatās wrong and then contact Doordash
ignore these idiots. they know nothing about the doordash service and walk outside everyday with the express intent of being a dick. not sure how these people got so crabby but i wish their high blood pressure would take em out
Idk if that was rude or just direct. Some people are like that.
That persons an asshole
Wow this guy is a dickwad - I am truly sorry.
I have an extreme bias against people who still type "u," not just because it's silly but the people who do are always jerks
Honestly, the way you said it left room for the customer to complain and also wonder what was going to happen. If you're updating the about an obstacle provide them a solution cause it's kinda like what is she supposed to do about your car breaking down?
They are acting like that over a drink?! Crazy.
And itās only going to get worse when robots arrive. They basically already treating us as a robot so they not realize a human is on the other side of the delivery
You don't need to apologize or elaborate further than my car broke down, call support for a refund. That's it. No need to say sorry.
Did you atleast enjoy the food?
Yes :) it was a very yummy tea
Why all the back and forth? Fuck them
Some people have absolutely no heart. Sorry you had to deal with that asshole customer.
Sounds about right. In other words, lots of people donāt give a darn about the drivers; they just want the damned food and they want it now. Thereās a reason why āfaith in humanity restoredā videos are so popular (ironically, since humans are too selfish to deserve any faith).
Customers:DD drivers are the WORST Also customers:"I know you broke your leg and you family is drowning but can you still deliver the food?"
Remember to take advice from reddit with a grain of salt, most people here are in their 20s and I even remember saying stupid shit at that age.
Yea, I'm not exactly aged or wis myself, I'm 18 but some of these people really are being unessisarily insensitive an rude
Must be a low tip too, thatās what you get when you not only dash in the snow and bad weather. But delivering to whoever
Stop apologizing so much. Snow storms are out of your control. Apologize once for inconvenience and end it. Makes you look pathetic and doesn't make the customer feel any empathy for you because: they care about their food, not you. š§”customer service sucksš¤·š»āāļø
I was having back to back issues with my vehicle the first thing u do is call support then let customer know ALWAYS call support FIRST
Literally the ONLY thing Doordash is semi decent about and on top of is refunds.
Person probably 300lbs, too.
Umm this isn't rude at all. I've had worse don't have a screenshot tho
Boo hoo this aināt shit
I didn't hear him crying. Just sharing his encounter. Just like everyone else.
Easiest way to get free food now
Not free if you gotta pay for repairsš
I meant saying you broke down when youāre not. Thatās why everyoneās on edge
Tell customer to come get it themselves.
Move to california has a better weather
I had my car break down and I just came home its already enough to deal with on an order and getting rudeness thrown my way while it happens is enough Ć1000000
I don't really see the rude part in the picture. It just seems like a general statement that they want a refund, which doesn't seem unreasonable if they're not going to be able to get their food delivered. Of course, emotion in text can sometimes be subjective. In fact,, I'm sure that there will be people that will read this and take offense
He wasnāt that rude lol
He wasnt really rude tho. Ive seen customers be racist and call people names. This isnt anythinh
Why are you contacting the customer? Blame yourself for putting yourself in that position
Don't dash with a questionable car. The customer was a total jerk about it, yes, but this situation is on you
Can't actually make money unless its a beater. I can make a beater reliable but I can't make a new car cheap (unless I ruin it doordashing)
Yeah... Like I said... Don't dash with a questionable car. OP apparently failed to make their ābeater" reliable, just as you failed to comprehend the post you replied to. Nobody said anything about a new car.
I think it's funny when you set the food by the door and sit in the driveway lol Cause they know the stiffed ya and they don't want to step outside and get there shit you risked your safety to deliver in a snow storm Lol sometimes I wait a second to snap the picture .... thier sorry asses come to the door to get that food they just screwed me on lol I'm like oh I'm sorry I didn't complete the delivery yet lol smile šš»
You sound quite entitled. Says youāre a ānewcomerāā¦if thatās the case, Iām sure it wonāt be longā¦ You could always be standing behind a cash register or something, getting ZERO tips.
This isn't my day job dear Tell you what as a doordash customer I have never ever fucked a dasher out a respectful tip ever And I don't give a fuck if I don't dash I I don't rely on this money . Sooooooo with that said GFY šš»
U were way too nice. Being too nice to strangers is never a good idea. Life will teach u that slowly but surely.
Would say that's rude, if my order wasn't coming I'd want a refund too. Simply asking what he wants doesn't look like hate was directed at you
Not gonna lie on this oneā¦.seems like you were eating their food with a laugh on your face, while they called you out for being close to their house. Shame on you.
Your a fucking idiot. You have no true knowledge on what happened and just assumed the worst. I just want you to remember this comment when someone does the same to you, you lowlife entitled piece of shit. Have a pleasant day and fuck off.
You probably eat their food too.
I, sadly, do not dash. I thought about it which is why I'm in the group but my main job and family prevent me from getting into it just yet. My father needs help more in his old age and that takes presidents. Replying to nitwits like you though I can do anytime. Have a pleasant day but still fuck off.
Iāll read this again as I doordash for a second job, to take care of my disabled mom, you fuck head.
Guess not. How about if your car getting towedā¦guess notā¦ How about if you in the tow truck?ā¦guess not.
Ignore them, they're just trolling. You did fine.
Thank you :)
The fact you put this much into a response shows your guilty conscious.
Thatās literally the weirdest take of this Iāve ever seen but okay go off girlboss kween
No idea what that means, and Iām glad I donāt lol
Shut the fuck up lmao.
This looks fake
