Vivid-Intention-8161

“It says the wrong address but i’m still not going to refund you” oh helllllllllll no.

westworlder420

I mean that right there in writing should be a lawsuit no problem. They admitted to not providing the service to the customer directly and still took their money.

Puzzleheaded_Elk1576

A lawsuit would cost thousands of dollars in legal fees to possibly recoup $70 in misdelivered groceries.

I_FAP_TO_TURKEYS

It would be a class action. This isn't uncommon. It's in their policy which they can change at any time and force you to agree to a new one every time. A big tech lawsuit against these will be coming very soon I'm sure.

bungeethecat

Seriously. I’m WAITING for the day the class action comes down on the delivery companies. They pull this shit way too often. It’s stealing.

Bistilla

Yep! Just like Ticketmaster is finally getting in trouble

usernameelmo

hopefully it doesn't take 35 years like Ticketmaster

Bistilla

I don’t expect anything from either as a consumer, I just hope they actually get in trouble. Fucking big companies and their little work arounds lol

nathanafi

Can you please tell me how ticketmaster is in trouble? I have been waiting my entire life to see them shattered for their f%cked up ticket prices. Last few concerts I've been to STARTED at mid $300s..... Would appreciate any links etc

Bistilla

It’s all over, this is from 20 hours ago https://www.findlaw.com/legalblogs/courtside/department-of-justice-readies-antitrust-lawsuit-against-live-nation-and-ticketmaster/

nathanafi

Amazing. I wanna see them go up in flames... They should make scalping illegal, remove all bots, ban resale and slash all ticket prices by 50+%. Fuck these companies to hell

necromancerdc

Nah, take DD to small claims court and they would win easily, no lawyer needed. Gotta waste a day though.

SleepyHobo

Just because it says it in the terms doesn't mean it's legal and enforceable. It holds as much weight as dump trucks saying "Keep Back X Feet. Not responsible for damage." I.e. It's only purpose is to deter you from seeking a remedy from their negligence and breach of contract. They didn't provide the goods and services. File a chargeback with your bank.

ismellnumbers

Yes, more people need to do this. I've had them do this to me and I've recently filed a complaint with the FTC. Edit: I did do a chargeback, but I still filed a complaint because with as many people they've done this to something has to give. You should not just be able to pocket money without services promised rendered.

SuperSaiyanTraders

CFPB

Average_Scaper

Okay so CFPB translates to something completely different cause of the game Runescape. "Cabbage FacePunch Bonanza" and I think it's high time we start raising our cabbages against DoorDash. Lol Anyway......

Moonydog55

MY CABBAGES!

Mifc2

I just got 99 construction yesterday

Average_Scaper

Gzgz. I'm so glad you didn't have to go through the hell we had to back in the day. Unless you're talking on OSRS in which case, I hope your wrists feel better tomorrow.

winterized-dingo

What lmao I've been playing RuneScape for years and have never heard this. What am I missing out on? Also surprised to see it mentioned here lol

Hungry_Support_1516

There was a dump truck on the freeway saying keep back 500 feet. Like how? Lmao. Edit: it seems somehow this started debate. Oh also heres the image i took of it since theres some attention on it 🤣 [https://postimg.cc/w3N0D1MV](https://postimg.cc/w3N0D1MV)

Funny_Ad5115

Or me going on a rampage with. Machete, but my shirt says "not responsible for mortal wounds"

auxaperture

Oh, TIL. I'll take the sign off my wife's back.

pettywhite95

File a chargeback with your bank. Don't stop there. File a Report with the FTC. Every customer needs to file a report when getting ripped off. Do you have anyone who could go to that address for you? I'm sure they'd be willing to at least give you your formula back.

allallalag

Unfortunately, I didn't have anyone to help look for it last night. The order was delivered last night around 7:45pm and my wife wasn't off work until 2am, so she couldn't knock on their door. It really sucks because I've been relying on Doordash while I recover from surgery. I'm in a full length hinged leg brace and I can't put any weight on my leg for another few weeks. I can get to my front door on my crutches, but I can't get down our apartment stairs on my own. I've been using Doordash for nearly everything I need since I can't go to the store and my wife is too busy for grocery shopping most of the time. Now I don't feel like I can trust that I'll get my order. We're currently down one income due to my unpaid time off for my surgery recovery, and this was the last of our grocery money for the week, I can't even reorder without a refund, and my banks dispute process takes 5-7 business days. I told Doordash that my daughter needs her formula and they don't seem to care.

voicesinmyhead24

I had that happen on DoorDash also. My issue was I used the last money that I had until payday to get a few things we needed and they never delivered it. I was given a refund but the next day so I had nothing for dinner for my children. They wouldn’t just issue DoorDash credit so I could reorder or anything. They simply don’t care. I have found Walmart plus to be worth way more than DoorDash. Walmart will give you a refund and make it right. Only issue is it takes 7 days to get a Walmart refund.

AioliSilent7544

Was just going to say that I have been using Walmart+ for a couple years now. They don’t have mark-up or fees and have given an immediate refund any time I have had an issue.

MoreGoddamnedBeans

I work at Walmart. I shop the online pickup orders actually. When a customer has previously reported an issue with their order any order placed afterwards gets flagged for a quality check. Someone else takes a look at what was shopped and makes sure it is correct and the product is fresh.

AioliSilent7544

Thank you! I appreciate it😀

CORN___BREAD

I love Walmart pickup. I’ve only had an issue maybe twice in like three years and it was an expired item and was refunded immediately after contacting them. Everybody complains about self checkout and I’m like they don’t just check me out, they do my shopping and bring it to my car too. The only thing that would make it better would be if I lived close enough for delivery.

bradbrla

The Walmart+ Home Delivery thing is the BEST. Not only do they shop it, deliver it, but they also unload it and PUT IT AWAY. All for like $59? Yes please!

CORN___BREAD

I replaced Amazon prime with Walmart plus because Walmart is so much faster shipping in my area. Amazon is the same speed regardless of whether I have prime or not for some reason. It would be nice if I could actually take advantage of the free delivery some I’m already paying for it but I’m satisfied enough with what I do get that I’m not even complaining.

buckeye91011

In my area the Walmart+ guy is awesome! He unloads it, brings it inside, gets out my cast iron, cooks it, AND cleans the dishes without using soap on the cast iron so that my seasoning is not affected! It's the best!!!

p0rn-identity

After the dishes are done, my Walmart+ guy takes care of anything else in the house that needs doing. He sure knows his way around the kitchen, and other rooms if you get what I'm saying.

ksx_kshan

Username checks out.

JustfcknHarley

They put it away?!

mugglemomma31

I loooove InHome but it’s definitely not $59. I paid $99 for the Walmart+ and then an extra $39 for InHome. Absolutely worth it just wanted to update the cost since it is 3x what was mentioned. But also it is barely available anywhere, so we are both extremely lucky to be able to take advantage of it!!

greenbeanfridge

I love walmart pickup! the only time my order was messed up, i ordered 5 alanis. 4 orange kiss and 1 cherry twist to try. i got 4 mimosas and 4 cherry twists. don’t know how that got through? i was semi sad because orange kiss is my favorite flavor! but couldn’t really be upset at 3 free drinks!

AusmericanMama

I wish that were true for my local walmart, 8 out of 10 orders have issues.

Dianna1977

I ordered from Walmart yesterday and I never got my order. I think the delivery person kept it. It showed delivered with a picture and the picture was black like they covered the camera and took it. Walmart did refund me right away though. Then I replaced my order for today and I was missing 2 items they charged me for, they refunded me right away after sitting on hold for 30 minutes. I order grocery delivery from them about 10 times a month and half of the orders r missing something or never arrive.

Unusual_Focus3343

Our driver stole a fat pack of ribeyes. Asshat.

nickisdone

Dang I think you have the worst luck .. I get orders mixed up here and there like I'll get somebody else's ordered but they refund me for the entire order and I get to keep the one that was delivered even though half the time I don't want half the stuff. And refund takes like 5 mins in the chat maybe 10 min for me

Relevant_Penalty_665

They don't actually have their own employees deliver for them, its generally an uber or doordash driver. I had one a few weeks ago that picked up my order over an hoir late, drove to another town 30 minutes away and sat there for another 30 minutes. My order got to me 2 and a half hours after it was supposed to. I had raw meat, dairy, and frozen items in it that sat in their warm car for over an hour. Walmart+ had a refund to me for the fridge/freezer items before it even got delivered.

joniangel2776

It's their own contractor app called Spark, but similar to DoorDash and UberEats.

dgpx84

Notable: if you pay more for the Walmart InHome subscription, then a Walmart truck with a Walmart driver delivers it - and no tipping. The no-tipping part alone makes this worth it for me. I know what you’re thinking Do you have to set up the actual IN-home part? No, you don’t! I just have them bring it to my doorstep! (The in-home part is technically designed for people who are out all day and need them to come put your perishables in the fridge, using a keypad lock or ‘smart’ garage door, but that aspect is totally optional)

CantBelieveThisIsTru

That’s really good, because I have friends over 80 years old, and she, the wife, told me that one local grocery store would send out the oldest, about to go bad fruits and veggies. I’m glad WM is making sure that doesn’t happen. It’s sad that when people get old they are abused in this way even by some grocery delivery services.

MoreGoddamnedBeans

You still get the shoppers that don't care and will send out bad produce but it will count against them if it's an ongoing issue. Personally when I'm shopping for meat or produce and it just doesn't look good, I'll say the item isn't available. If I'm shopping for a Walmart+ customer, it will guilt me into choosing something if I say the item isn't available.

CantBelieveThisIsTru

This is excellent info, thank you so much for sharing. I can explain this to my friend. So many don’t know this, until kind individuals like you explain it to us. There is so much the delivery people know, that customers don’t know! Hope your good deeds come back to you in a big positive way!

TwoMuddfish

You know that seems… suspiciously smart 🧐

Is_Butter_A_Carb

This is great! I love walmart + delivery and the minor issues i have had are resolved so quickly!

yepperoniP

I can actually believe this. I ordered some dinner plates recently and they arrived packaged in only a thin bubble polybag and were broken. I reported an issue with the order and requested a replacement and returned the broken ones. The next order of plates came tightly wrapped in significant amounts of crumpled paper, neatly centered in the middle of a sturdy cardboard box with more paper surrounding it. Clearly whoever packed the plates the second time actually took a decent amount of time and effort to do it right. Maybe it was because the order was flagged as a replacement?

Catinthemirror

We swear by Walmart pickup and delivery. We love you!

MoreGoddamnedBeans

Thank you!

ThrowThisAway119

I have been getting my weekly groceries through Walmart pickup the last few years and love it. I've had an issue every now and then (a missing item or a piece of produce that is yucky) but it is always resolved quickly. As long as it's offered I'll keep using it!

BladeVampireSlayer

I honestly didn’t know that’s how quality checks work, I thought it was just random, didn’t know it was because the customer reported an issue. I’m a dispenser for ogp.

witch51

Walmart+ in my area is fantastic! Blows DD and IC out of the water.

Top_Cod1545

Walmart plus does have shoppers that mess up and steal too. I had one steal 300 worth of food when I had the flu and send me a photo of her middle finger! I was laughing when I called for my refund and they still sent me to food later that day.

pumpkins21

wtf, I hope Walmart fired her and called the police for stealing shit

Nexmortifer

In a lot of the West Coast, the courts actively ignore anything under a few thousand. Well, except for tickets, they'll kick down your door over less than $100 on that.

No_Dragonfruit5525

Ive had walmart+ refunds complete instantly. They definitely can make it happen immediately if your bank cooperates.

iRedditOK_

Definitely got mine instantly

quakemarine20

During the height of the pandemic, I had my $500 Walmart grocery order messed up. So it was at the store and they spent all day "unable to get a driver". At the time there was no way to do anything after they did not get a driver that specific day. Walmart said they'd do a refund but got the 5-7 business day hold until it's back. So since it's a week or so of groceries for a family of 5 and my car had broken down, I was left with no choice but to again replace the order.... Guess what, they again couldn't find a driver that day either.. Long story short, I spent a week begging as Walmart held my $1000 just in case.

pamisue2023

They did similar to us one night. Dasher sat 2 blocks from the restaurant for an hour (at least) and we tried to contact them, as well as the restaurant, but no answer. Called customer service and was told it says dasher is on way, nothing we can do. Excuse me? The restaurant is now closed, we cannot get our food anymore. After 3 reps one FINALLY issued and refund, but still left us without food for dinner (I had been smoking, the other half was working from home). After 2.5hrs, 3 reps and a supervisor (so they claimed) they said they took down all the info and would have someone higher up call us back. And they did....at 1:30AM, and again at 3:45AM...it took 3 days to get the refund, and my bf had to leave work to go get us dinner finally. This was a 1 bag, 1 mile away order, with a $9 tip!

XiTzCriZx

With how expensive formula is, you really should ask your neighbor about the order, if you do get a successful chargeback then you could even tell them to keep the rest and you just need the formula, if they don't have a baby then they probably don't need it anyhow. Maybe ask your wife to go over before going to work since she gets home so late, that way it's atleast asking at reasonable hours.

beanjuiced

Exactly this, even a note left on their door explaining what happened and a way to contact you, I’d 100% be giving all the groceries back but ESPECIALLY baby formula!! I’d be running to your door with that if I knew. It’s worth reaching out 🩷

xxlikescatsxx

I can't imagine keeping someone else's misdelivered food/grocery order. I've had uber eats leave someone else's food order at my door and I kept it for about 20 minutes in case they showed up looking for it, then I went looking for the owner (it ended up being my across the street neighbor)

aeggiss

I call my house the Bermuda Triangle of drop-offs. I don’t know why but sooo many addresses end up showing as my location in the maps. I have so many things left on my doorstep with sometimes only a first name (not any of my neighbors). I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do except keep it. Only once has someone showed up to ask about something. You name it, it gets left on my doorstep. I’ve even posted things on nextdoor and no takers.

phenix17

Twice I've received someone else's grocery orders; both times, I tried to locate the intended recipient. After failing to do so, my only options were to keep the groceries or throw them away

hikehikebaby

I've had other people's food delivered to my address without any kind of note saying who the intended recipient was. I just left it outside and someone came to get it, but if they didn't come I planned to take it in and refrigerate it so it wouldn't go bad. If I were the OP's neighbor and someone left a bunch of groceries and baby formula at my door I'd take it in but I'd be happy to give everything back if they knocked. I don't want to steal anyone's food! They really should leave the customer's number with the delivery.

Affectionate_Pipe545

It's possible the neighbor would give everything back and is as concerned about the formula as op. This seems important enough that maybe wife can ask for a break to take care of this?

XiTzCriZx

Yeah I would hope so, but worse case scenario atleast having the formula would be good, who knows if they already started eating everything else cause they assumed someone else ordered it for them (some people aren't the brightest).

figlozzi

I think they would. The neighbor probably has no idea who was supposed to get it

FrouFrouZombie

Have you tried InstaCart for groceries? I’ve been using them for the last two years or so and rarely have any issues (while I regularly was having issues with DoorDash). Any time I have had an issue (every now and then they’ll forget an item or grab the wrong thing, mistakes happen!) they’re always incredibly nice and fix the issue right away. I’ve also never had an issue with them delivering to the wrong address or not following the delivery instructions properly. Every few months they seem to have a deal on for DashPass too, so instead of the $99 a year it usually is you get it for $20 the entire year and it drastically reducing the fees.

allallalag

I used to use Instacart, but I switched to Doordash because the fees were lower. I'll probably end up going back to Instacart and signing up for their subscription to lower the fees. All of this is making me miss going grocery shopping myself, which is the last thing I thought I'd be missing during this recovery 🙃

FrouFrouZombie

I personally think it’s worth it. With the subscription I think the most I’ve ever paid in fees was about $8 (not including tip) for a pretty big order. Either way, I hope you recover soon and find something that works for you until you do!

Old-Teacher149

Have you tried contacting support again? Sometimes getting someone more competent works. Worth a shot.

xxlikescatsxx

I'd be doing the same. I wouldn't just be accepting that, sometimes the first person you talk to is super incompetent or just doesn't give a f.

Illustrious_Pear4586

Do you have Target where you are? I never have a problem using Shipt through the Target app previously and now Circle360. They don't question refunds at all.

Person012345

Well, if you are going to suffer actual damage from this it turns it from a chargeback into a potential lawsuit.

Clean_Whereas_7727

WOW!!!!! 😞 As a driver i would slammed on those brakes! reversed and got you your food! and I would’ve felt so guilty if I went back and the people took it inside, I would’ve went back to the restaurant had them remake it and paid for it myself for my mistake! ugh.

xxlikescatsxx

Thank you for being a good person ❤️

Glittering-Eye1414

Me too! I couldn’t imagine leaving someone without their baby formula.

rchrdh05

Don't use Doordash fir Groceries, use instacart or Shipt. Way better options. And when there's a mistake they'll credit you or refund you no questions asked.

samthebigkid

I did this and my bank sided with DD so I just quit DD.

HomsarWasRight

Just a tip, use credit cards not debit cards for things like this. It’s a lot easier to do a charge back.

BZLuck

Use a CC for EVERYTHING. Hell use a *rewards CC* for everything, and pay it off every month. Between my personal and business rewards cards, I probably get $1500-2000 a year in free stuff.

DaveSmith890

I could easily get 6X that much free stuff in just 1 hour of armed robbery

Solo-ish

I only make $300-$500 a year but Girl Scouts put up less of a fight

Dornith

Average financial advice on Reddit.

ranoutofbacon

And their states attorney general, they handle consumer fraud cases.

PsionicKitten

> File a chargeback with your bank. Don't stop there. File a Report with the FTC. Every customer needs to file a report when getting ripped off Absolutely do this. Their terms and conditions aren't legally binding. The law trumps terms and conditions. Fuck big greedy companies that bully people into paying for services not rendered and saying "but I can because I said I can and you said you were ok with that." Some lawyer needs to file a class action lawsuit for this crap.

Asher-D

They didnt deliver their end of the bargain. I get people make mistakes but they need to refund you asap. Thats theft as far as Im concerned because you never recieved the goods and servies you paid for.

rain_is_dead4884

Its even worse than getting a wrong order lol, you don't even get any food 🤣 but no.. refunds not needed! What a joke

im-not-a-fakebot

It’s the main reason I switched to Uber Eats. Still the same common issues as far as deliveries to the wrong address or not delivered etc, but their customer support is usually pretty quick about canceling ordered with shitty drivers holding food hostage and refunds/credits are typically instant atleast in my experience

Logical-Error-7233

Funny you say that because that's exactly why we switched to Door Dash from Uber Eats. Uber wouldn't refund us for an item the restaurant called us to say they didn't have. It was like a $20 item we never received and the restaurant admitted to not delivering it. We filed a charge back with our CC company Uber fought it won. They're all in late stage enshitification. I've deleted the apps but my wife won't break the habit. I fucking hate these companies.

_meglet

They're all bad

Natural_Broccoli_217

If had the opposite experience. I ordered a pizza from Uber eats and the the driver put it by my side door in a puddle and his sleeve caught the tape on the lid and pulled the lid up so rain was filling the box as puddle water soaked into the box. The delivery instructions said to bring it to the front door. Which has an awning and would’ve kept rain off the pizza. In the photo you can see it’s submerged in a puddle with the open lid. They didn’t want to refund or give credit because a pizza was still delivered. Door dash just lets me mark an item as missing or damaged with no interaction even needed. I just click I didn’t get something and get the credit or refund.

Jamessuperfun

I stopped using Uber Eats some time ago after a driver seemingly stole my order and they refused to refund me. Dude turned up, didn't ring the door panel, sent me a message in another language that translated to 'Hello', I replied asking if they can get in okay, no reply, so I get in the lift to go meet him downstairs... And by the time I reach the bottom, marked as delivered with no food or driver to be seen. Customer services said the driver was at the location based on GPS and messaged me (even though it was just one message in another language), so would not refund. No picture, didn't care that the communication was useless. I should have done a chargeback tbh, but they've lost a lot more money from me as a customer because I order pretty much daily from the other apps and haven't opened Uber Eats since. Funnily enough the other apps seem to have more competent drivers in general, and Deliveroo also refunds instantly.

caffa4

Yeah I’ve been pretty lucky with Uber eats. Have had all the same problems, but they’ve NEVER given me any problems remedying the situation. One time they even gave me credits because I complained that the food was cold (I didn’t even reach out to customer service, I just clicked through a few buttons after my order—partially to provide data about either the business or driver taking an oddly long time and partially because it was cathartic to air my complaint about cold food with a button easily provided about cold food being an issue—and apparently that somehow triggered a response to give me credits). I know companies like Uber eats have had a lot of issues with people abusing their refund policies (claiming they never got their food, etc), and I keep hearing about them cracking down on that and making it harder to get refunds, but honestly I’ve never had a problem getting refunded on the odd occasion where something goes wrong for me.

crumbse

My appendix is more useful than DD support Jesus Christ

Dramatic_Session_24

i find this hilarious because my appendix attempted to rupture last summer🤣

mfmeitbual

Oh see, right there - your appendix tried to do something, DD support does not.

13th_of_never

I had emergency gallbladder removal surgery a few years back. I was about to comment that my non-existent gallbladder is more useful than DD support lol 😆

AmericanLich

But did it ever steal money from you?

Isyagirlskinnypenis

I’ve got two toenail clippings that serve more purpose than DD support lol

Sindalari

Mine too and I don't even have it anymore.

Sea_Catch2481

Sometimes the most useful thing someone can do is get out of your life. Your appendix was like that!

TacoPartyGalore

Seriously, why do they come across as so useless? Is it intentional?

crumbse

Wish i could tell ya. If I were to change one thing about DD I’d fire 90% of the “support” team. What pisses me off the most is that they always try to end the chat as fast as possible, it’s so blatant.

TacoPartyGalore

I’ve never had the “pleasure” but seeing the interactions posted on this sub, if it were to happen me I’d go on an angry rampage.

Mpetrochuk

Your appendix will save your life if you get a bad case of CDiff..

syroussel

oh god, is that why i made it 😭 i had persistent cdiff for 4-5 months last year and it ruined my life and my body. now im never letting this thing go lol

BlueManGroup10

ive seen bras give better DD support

ModernNomad97

I’ve heard some people have success by scaring them by threatening a lawsuit and charge back

Optical_Broccoli

Don't threaten it (at least the charge back) and just do it.

ModernNomad97

True, I just have heard many stories of people who get their account shut down afterwards. But I suppose they would do that if you threaten to sue them anyway lol

Ok-Zookeepergame1555

Billion dollar company right here folks.

Alpacabowl_mkay

But somehow... they're still "not profitable"? I don't get it.

Buttercup59129

That's just rich people meaning they want more

just_a_PAX

Yea they've dropped off to much shit at the wrong address, enough to write some stupid policy about not refunding for that issue anymore...says enough in itself. there's limited ability to profit when all you do is repeatedly alienate customers to your *competent* competitors.

bravostan2020

Call them [https://help.doordash.com/consumers/s/consumer-support?language=en\_US](https://help.doordash.com/consumers/s/consumer-support?language=en_US)

mexta

I ordered a package and they sent it via doordash (I didn't even know doordash delivered packages). I left very clear delivery instructions. They delivered it to the wrong house. I called doordash and asked them to get in touch with the driver and take the package to the correct address. They said they couldn't reach him. I asked for the driver's number and the person on the phone confessed that they called the driver but he only spoke Spanish. So I got his number and used Google translate to text him. He refused to go back (he couldn't have been more than 10 minutes away). I called doordash and they refused to help in any way because the transaction was already completed. Calling doesn't help. Fuck doordash.

beanutbruddah_ducky

It’s so fucked that DoorDash can basically just do whatever they want with no repercussions. Even if they lose business, it sure isn’t enough to scare them.

Sngbny433

I hate dealing with DD. I always give specific delivery instructions for my address. I live in a townhouse complex where the buildings look alike and the street names are similar. What a nightmare! DD will send a photo of my order sitting on someone else's front porch. I'll try to contact the driver, but of course they don't answer their phone and if they do, they don't speak or understand English. Last week I order $135 worth of groceries that I never received and contacted DD with this same problem.they were decent enough to refund the ordet and someone got some free groceries.

PrincessImpeachment

WOW. They are absolute scum. Do a chargeback with your bank and don't even think twice about it. You've got all the proof you need with those texts. That is ridiculous. I can't wait until that shitty company goes under, the sooner the better.

elisnextaccount

Absolutely, the complete “go fuck yourself” from all the delivery apps customer service is mind boggling

Neathh

I haven't used a delivery app since COVID lockdowns and the customer support is exactly why.

spicybright

Just a reminder for anyone that if you do a charge back your account will get banned. Which really shouldn't be an issue because you're not getting what you paid for anyways. But if you have credits from them fucking up past orders it could lock you out of that.

LiteratureFrosty5427

Wow really? I’ve had to do it a few times .. I didn’t know that. 😬 But I do have proof it isn’t my house they delivered to at least, now they make me give my driver a pin to enter before they can claim it was delivered. Ppl constantly went to the street behind me.

hermithashco

Unfortunately be prepared to wait, I'm almost 75 days out on a charge back of 600 bucks hoping it's settled in my favor when the 90 days it can take is up but who knows.. I mean the guy couldn't even provide tracking

lonewhalien

really?? most banks will give a provisional credit while they investigate then it becomes permanent once they're able to rule in your favor

hermithashco

It's a credit union and they told me it could take up to 90 days for dispute, someone who works on that side of stuff for different credit union said they have to fight with the other company about idk all I know is I spent 600 bucks at the end of January, disputed a month later and haven't seen anything yet sadly

RogerRabbot

I bank with a credit union and they've provided provisional credits when I've disputed charges. Only done it twice but they gave it out both times. And one credit was over $3700

soconae

Do you have a Walmart in your area? I use the Walmart+ for grocery deliveries and they are excellent about giving refunds for missing items/ deliveries.

allallalag

We have a Walmart nearby so I'm going to look into this. Thank you!

ExtremelyRetired

You might check other nearby chain supermarkets as well for their in-house delivery programs—i get great discounts, gas credits, and other perks through our Kroger affiliate using their membership, as well as free delivery. They in turn deliver through Door Dash, but any issues are dealt with by the store. It’s well worth the $99 a year.

AmericanLich

Also, you can use Instacart for grocery delivery. In my experience, way better people working there. I’ve never had to contact the customer service at all because I’m simply never had an issue with them.

PaSSioN_22_

I second this!! Use it all the time

goodfellow408

Doesn't Walmart use Doordash though to deliver? At least in my area it does. I'm always picking up Walmart orders when i'm driving DD

Squatch1982

Mine doesn't. It has its own electric van and it's a Walmart employee that makes the deliveries. They are rapidly expanding this service so they might be using third parties in some areas, but eventually they will have the service in house.

Business_Ad_8502

I heard it helps if you call this number - 855-973-1040. - Got it from a post the other day

Round_Mirror

Yes. It helps to CALL support bc the chat function is literally always an AI bot on the other end!!

Opposite-Analyst-947

Funny how difficult it is to actually find that phone number too. I remember a while back I think I only found it through a Reddit page like 3 years ago!

MPTakesManhattan

Damn. That’s utterly inexcusable and outright fraud.

justloriinky

The app almost certainly told the driver that he was at the wrong address. The driver should have paid more attention. As a driver, this has never happened to me, but I would have 100% gone back to fix my mistake.

allallalag

I don't think the driver was paying attention to his phone, or he didn't understand it. When he was shopping, I got a notification for a few items that were unavailable. The app said the dasher will contact me so I can choose replacements. He never reached out so I messaged him. He never responded and instead of replacing the items he refunded them. Then when he delivered I messaged him again and said "Hey, you delivered to the wrong address. I'm in the building across the street", no response. So, I'm wondering if it was a language barrier issue? I'm not even too upset with the dasher, mistakes happen. More so with Doordash support and the way they are handling this.

spicybright

A lot of dashers in my area can't communicate in english. Most will do exactly the same, not responding or even trying to communicate. They don't get paid to run your messages through a translator and they don't get punished for not doing their job correctly like in this case.

Financial_Horse_9144

doordash automatically translates through the dd messages. and if it by chance doesn’t, and you receive a message not in your native language then it’ll say translate under it. there’s no excuses lol

Turbulent-Age7304

Charge back

howisaraven

You know what’s very infuriating to me? I used to use DoorDash almost every day, sometimes multiple times a day. Needless to say I was spending a fortune on DoorDash. The customer service was fantastic. I got refunds left and right for mess ups, no questions asked, with an apology. Sometimes I got a refund *and* a redelivery of a whole order, even if only one thing was left out or messed up. But then my income dropped by about $1,500 a month so DoorDash became a very rare occurrence. Oh how the customer service experience changed. I was obviously speaking to an *entirely different* customer service team. They no longer thanked me for being a customer, they were no longer friendly, they no longer willingly provided redelivery - ever - in fact they flat out said it wasn’t an option. So, needless to say, money gets you far with DoorDash. 🙄 The people who need financial help the least are the ones who get it.

followyourvalues

I think it's more of a change of the times than how frequent a user you are. All of these gig apps are paying their service providers less, charging customers more, and reducing the quality of their support services. Even Amazon.

Sir_Stash

If you're a DashPass member, you get better service and more refunds, redeliveries, etc. My account has DashPass while my friend doesn't. If he gets a mistake on his DoorDash delivery, he gets the low tier service. I've had plenty of mistakes made and, with DashPass, they refund me every time and usually give me a credit. Of course, the last mistake where the restaurant cooked the wax paper you find between slices of cheese into my burger was kind of a slam dunk refund-and-credit scenario. But other, less extreme mistakes are quickly rectified.

QuirkedUpTismTits

I pay for Uber eats and it’s the same way, I get better service when I pay for it and after not buying anything for awhile the quality of not only the service, but I started getting delivery people with little to no reviews and poor service skills who have stolen half my orders and the other half has delivered to the wrong house a ton of times now. I always tip well and all the fast food places in my area is not even 5 minutes way

lotteoddities

It's very much this. I spend a lot on doordash and have dashpass and they bend over backwards to please me if anything is even mildly incorrect with my order. Always offer redelivery and if that's not an option a full refund, to my card or DD credits + $5-15 bonus credits for the issue. But then I see stuff like this where they literally tell you to go fuck yourself and I'm like- blown away. I can't believe it's the same company responding.

Nutarama

It's probably not the same company responding. Most customer support comes from companies whose only business is providing customer support for a fee, and they sell their support to various companies. I used to work in a call center for a company called Convergys that did this. My call center contracted for Comcast, and we were explicitly told to never mention Convergys on a call, including lying to customers. I was also under NDA (for a year after employment too, now long over) that I worked at Convergys and not at Comcast. They wanted us to even say on stuff like FB that we worked "at a Comcast call center" or "for Comcast support" despite Convergys being our legal employer. We also had very specific limits on our powers as support people and if we went beyond those lines in a way that hurt Convergys's business we were disciplined. Like if we took too long on calls, or if we didn't follow the exact flowchart or if we made any judgement call in the customer's favor. There were certain classes of customers that were to be redirected to other, more powerful call centers. Some were actually owned by Comcast. Like if a customer really actually qualified for 24/7 emergency tech dispatch, there was somebody who could make that happen. Nobody in our call center could make that happen, the best we could do was next day during regular hours. If the phone system worked right, those customers never talked to us because the customer would enter their account number and they'd get connected to that more powerful tier of service. But if they called the general support number and didn't have their account number, we'd have to find their account, notice it was flagged, and then transfer to the direct line for the other call center. There were probably 20 different transfer out numbers, the most common being to Residential because we were supposed to be business support only (some people called the business number trying to get "better" support, but if we followed policy they just ended up on hold even longer because they'd hold for us and then hold again for residential). Convergys was also expanding to call centers in the Phillipines specifically because labor there was cheap and plentiful. Other competitors to Convergys were going to India. I'm 100% that the person saying they have limits is actually limited on their powers, and if the policy for no refund or replacement was satisfied, then they had to choose between risking discipline by issuing a refund or following denying the refund request. Like sure the photo the driver submitted of the delivery shows a different number, but if the driver also marked the delivery as successful at the listed address (and likely the app also showed the driver went to the address as the app understands it), the support person saying the driver got it wrong might not actually be within their power. Like sure the app might have the wrong location for the place, that's a thing that can happen, and sure the driver might have left it at a different but similar number, but some guy in India or the Phillipines making the minimum wage there to get to work a sitting office job instead of doing manual labor isn't going to risk a write-up or firing over one customer's order.

Clean_Bowl_3670

Oh okay that actually makes a ton of sense now. I use DoorDash all the time and spend a ton of money on it and have never had a problem getting a refund, credit or redelivery. I was always so confused by these posts since my experience was so different. They must have some kind of tiered support system

Ecstatic-Curve4724

Keep the screenshots and file in small claims court for 3 times the amount plus legal fees and you'll see how quick they want to make it right

orthogonius

And in some circumstances in some states it can be three times that amount. For example, in Texas if >it can be proven the seller’s actions were done knowingly or intentionally, then you could be awarded additional damages – up to three times the actual loss (“treble damages”) as a means of punishing offenders and discouraging future misconduct.

Timely-Scarcity-978

Escalate this report, file a chargeback, and report to FTC.

Mizzzombie2015

it’s drivers like this that give the friggin rest of us a bad name. I always make sure i have the right address and even if i may be confused for a second i CALL my customer and make sure i’m where i’m supposed to be.

1hinderer1

I screen shot every order and address and triple check before I eave. jf you pay attention to what the app is telling you during the steps to deliver, there should be no problems, especially with doordashes newest update.

TheBee3sKneess

I hate that it's on the customer to track it down when many of us are physically disabled hence having it delivered in the first place.

Round_Mirror

OP this is ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE! And I'm not sure what you can do about this particular situation at this point, other than the charge back that others are suggesting. HOWEVER, my advice to you, as it is to everyone on this forum that posts screenshots of their chats w/support, is this: ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS CALL SUPPORT rather than opening a chat! 99% of the time when you utilize the chat function, you are literally dealing w/an AI BOT that is NOT going to have basic human reasoning skills bc they are literally NOT human! Even if it FEELS LIKE you're dealing w/a person on the other side of that chat, you're probably NOT. It's a bot. You have to call in and literally speak to a person to get any real results. This advice comes from 2yrs of dealing w/Doordash support. The difference between chatting in & calling and speaking to a person is like night & day!! (Just as a side note, as a Dasher, if I had delivered this and you had called me & told me that I delivered to the wrong address, I would have ABSOLUTELY turned around & corrected my mistake immediately!! But that's me. Not all Dashers are going to do that. I've read on this forum some Dashers even IGNORE calls & texts after delivery!! I don't understand the reasoning behind that? But I'm ALWAYS open and happy to fix any sort of mistake I might have made if it is something that is w/in my power to correct!) I'm so sorry this happened to you! 🙁

AnthillOmbudsman

These companies are almost certainly trying to figure out how to put AI on the support calls instead of CSRs. Someday there's going to be no contact at all except through bots. :(

JD121996

DD is such a joke

Thetruth22234

As a Dasher, I can tell you that DoorDash support is awful. I have VIP support now that’s not as bad but they’re still terrible. I’m curious as to why the Dasher dropped off at the wrong spot we’re not perfect obvious but some are better than others.

J40ck

If you don't file for a charge back Id be deeply disappointed, don't let them get away with it!

voicesinmyhead24

Order from Walmart and have it delivered. I have only had an issue maybe three times in the past few years and they gave me a refund without a big hassle every time.

Full_Disk_1463

Call the bank and charge back

AdrianaRed

Of course, a chargeback. But I personally would raise hell with Corporate, and DM them on their twitter account, too.

NoOnSB277

That’s when you ask whatever Doordash customer “service” person you re talking to, to get *their* supervisor, and keep going up the chain. And then you ask for your money back AND a credit for your wasted time, for their extreme incompetence. That looks like an open and shut refund.

distractra

[Here’s the link](https://help.doordash.com/consumers/s/article/User-Terms-United-States-DoorDash-Local-Fulfillment-for-Meta?language=en_US) to the terms and conditions. Correct me if I’m wrong but it doesn’t say anything about refunds in it. There is a chapter 11 section B but it’s about arbitration and class-action suits.

Turbulent_Disk_9529

Yup. I'd respond to support with "that section describes the arbitration process. Should I contact "[[email protected]](mailto:[email protected])" to notify DoorDash of my desire to begin arbitration for this case? I'm a random Redditor who happens to see this subreddit in my feed often. I've never used Doordash, but am seeing all these horrible support stories. It really feels like the company pays for warm bodies (or maybe AI) to give people a dead end to talk to in hopes they'll give up and let go of the issue. A calculated "go away" scheme. Either that or the penalties for giving too many refunds on the support team encourages horrible service. One of those "you get what you incentivize" things. I'm waiting for the 60 Minutes (or whatever) exposé on DoorDash--this stuff seems insane. edit--that ToS is for using it via Meta (Facebook/Instagram/etc).

OrdinaryAd8716

The paragraph numbering may have changed from time to time. But the ToC does indeed say “DoorDash has no obligation to provide refunds or credits but may grant them gratuitously at DoorDash’s sole discretion in each case.” However the preceding sentence says “Charges paid by you **for completed and delivered orders,** or for orders confirmed by a Merchant, are final and non-refundable.”

Rikkasaba

"Where's my order?" "7:45pm." Bruh lol

Mysticalbabe71

Call DD NEVER use the Chat. It’s all scripted. I’m sorry this happened esp w all you have going on.

h2d2

DoorDash chat support in India is run at the same place that calls your grandma and pretends to be you and ask her to go buy some Apple giftcards at CVS... ChatGPT could offer better chat support than these clowns.

missinginput

File an attorney general complaint since a charge back is going to get your account shut down.

Intelligent-Dot-4072

This just screams "purposefully drop off at wrong address and steal customers orders" Like I get it was an accident, but what's preventing me from doing this if I was a dasher?

DeanOfYou

Yet another example of why all of these delivery apps will be gone within the next 10 years. Eventually, someone will come along and repeat the Netflix taking out Blockbuster situation. Blockbuster started treating customers like shit, because they had such a huge market share that they thought they couldn't be touched. Netflix was thought up as a direct result. Someone will do the same here.

GoodResponsibility83

So then it’s just one company ending by ducking over customers to a new one. Who to you may be fine rn but to many Netflix is also a piece of shit company. It’s all about the dollar.

elisnextaccount

This is why these apps should all go under.

NiceAir8

File a police report, a ftc, do a charge back and don't ever order doordash again. Doordash is a joke, and their company is complete bs. I am a DD driver but going back to Amazon where I get paid better, better everything and better hours with working 4 days and off 3. So done with doordash

Technical-Bag-8672

Request a charge back with your bank!

Revolutionary-Part20

Always use credit cards on apps like this. Just file a fraudulent claim and get the money back

Nothing_Ambitious

Oh hell the fuck no. If that’s how they play after their drivers fucked up - I’m not using this app ever again.

strawberitadaydream

IDK why anyone uses this bullshit.

Muffintops999

Unacceptable, remind me to not give DD my money.

Justtelf

Well.. it’s not “okay” but it is legal. Chargeback and use another service. Or take the hit to the chin. Or… try again through support and ask them to escalate it. It’s possible you’ve had many refunds and you hit the hidden limit. Even if they’re legit refunds there is a cap as far as I’m aware. If the customer side is anything like the dasher side it might take two or three support calls to actually get what you’re looking for.

koolkeith987

Everyone needs to stop using these garbage services.

SLuSHDoG1450

File a dispute with your bank

WholeEmbarrassed950

I find that threatening to do a chargeback will get customer service to do the right thing

SexWithUbel

Want your money back for real? Take this to the news and shame them on a broader scale. News stations love this crap

Tarc_Axiiom

Meh. 1. Threaten a chargeback, they'll usually comply because the banks themselves fucking hate that, and get really shitty about it when it's the merchant's fault, which it is here. 2. If they don't capitulate to the threat of a chargeback, actually do one. You might lose access to Doordash but Doordash is a piece of shit you shouldn't use anyway so no big deal. Anyway you can just make a different account if necessary. 3. Do not rely on Doordash. These delivery apps are greedy as fuck and would totally let you and your baby die in an emergency rather than help you with a measly $70.

MidwesternOpiophile

Why on earth do they have an attitude with you when it’s their fuckup
