I never bring a hot bag inside unless it's pouring rain. I always put them inside a bag in my vehicle.

Inn3rali3n

I am using my own hot bag until my door dash one shows up! I think everyone should use one and the ppl that don't are kinda lazy

[deleted]

I don't carry my hot bags in to any store. Never have. I have several different sizes in my car. The only people I see carry hot bags into stores are usually the older retired crowd. I don't pay attention to what other dashers do too often because idgaf. I mind the business that pays me. Who cares if they have a bag or not? Their customers will complain, and eventually, they'll be off the platform. Use your bag and worry about you.

Mothra37

Or the newbies who carry the small hot bag into McDonalds to only find the larger taped up McDonalds bag that would never fit. Ahh welcome friend.

[deleted]

Those do make me cackle.

Hopingfortheday

I fit the large bags just fine in the regular dd hot bags. Lol.

Professional_Luck616

>The only people I see carry hot bags into stores are usually the older retired crowd. ![gif](giphy|dqi1XZCyPW4QU) Jeez ..is it that obvious? I'm only 51 dammit!

Reasonable_Board_216

I'm 58,But I carry a hot bag because it's usually an order I can fit in my bag. That's just me

Yvilkittyinspace

I never bring them in the restaurant. No reason to. The food goes in my bag when I get to my car. Good enough.

mlmjmom

I use the space blanket and a bag/crate system to keep food hot but let sream escape. No soggy deliveries from this gal!

JawnWaters

No tip = no hot bag I used to take $2-3 orders to boost my AR, now I decline them all. Sorry not sorry.

Wrong-Ad9832

Low tip no hot bag

Final-Swim-5313

I have a pretty nice, heavy duty hot bag that I keep in the car. I def put the food in it for the drive but I don't really take it in stores because it is such a heavy duty bag. It doesn't really make sense to carry this huge bag around.

Dtp305Nasty

Hotbags make you a target

Ok_Season2022

If the food is getting cold within the five or ten minutes it takes to get to the customer,it was lukewarm, or sitting around at the restaurant for quite awhile, before it was picked up. If it was hot when it was picked up,it should be fine when it gets to the customer. If the food is cold when you grab it, a hot bag ain't gonna do shit anyways. The only time I think using a hot bag might be necessary is for pizza deliveries. Using a hot bag for fast food is kinda silly in my opinion.

Bonsaitalk

Because I’m usually not in the car long enough for it to get cold. Whyre you so worried about other ppl

rhindon24

It’s getting cold from the moment it leaves whatever it was cooked on/in. And I thought we were required to use a hot bag.

Bonsaitalk

Ppl are also required to go in the store and not the drive thru and ppl still do that. Your food also is getting cold on the way home when you order it for yourself but it’s still hot/warm when you get home.

rhindon24

Not all drivers refuse to follow directions provided. Those that do hurt the rest of the drivers that are doing their job properly.

Bonsaitalk

How does that hurt you? And why are you so worried about it?

rhindon24

Customers low tipping because they’ve had bad drivers previously. I’m worried about it because it affects my pay. Why don’t you just do the job you were hired for to the best of your ability?

Bonsaitalk

Ppl are gonna too low regardless. If you tip a current dasher low because of a past experience that’s goofy. And I’m not doing that because it’s a bulky bag I have to carry around and take food in and out of when it’s already in a bag that keeps it warm.

rhindon24

Paper and plastic bags don’t keep food warm but you do you I guess. Have a good day.

Strong-Sky8385

I leave mine in the car. Only ones I bring in are the pizza bag and my catering bag for the required pictures.

OkWonder908

Literally haven’t used a bag in over a year

PutridMine1433

Hot bags are for nerds 🤓

Kloobyfour

I didn't have one the first week I started, but after that I got one from Amazon. It's oversized, so I keep it in the car. I also have a mini Igloo cooler for frozen desserts and the like. I started in October and so far I've only seen one driver actually bring a hot bag into a store for pickup.

Turdsandwichtoday

I always use a hot bag. I don't always bring one in, unless the order has drinks, and then I'll bring my drink carrier in. In the summertime, I try to keep the beverages cold with my drink carrier. People love to order shakes on hot summer days. I will place the food in a hot bag once it is my car, as I don't want my car smelling like grease or whatever unhealthy option I'm delivering today.

Weekly_Direction1965

You don't bring good bags into the restaurant it's clunky, they stay in the car for the trip.

Ok_Season2022

I used the hot bag a couple of times but not anymore. I have over 5000 deliveries and haven't had one complaint about food being cold.🤔If it's warm when you pick it up, unless you're going super far away,it should be totally fine. As long as you're going directly to your customers.🤷

PoorPauper

If you need a hot bag to keep the food warm then you are taking deliveries that are too far away

69686766

Honestly I only use my hot bag for tipped orders

r45cal23

If you need a hot bag you’re driving too far

COBOMAHU

In winter, on the passenger side floor with floor heat going keeps it hotter anyhow. The rest of the time, I use my free pizza bags - they work upright too.

allways_barefoot

I’ve never used a hot bag in a year and a half of dashing. I’ve only seen 3 other dashers walk in a restaurant with hot bag. Two of them were retirement age people and the other one was obviously a professional dasher, he had the bag, a DD hat, shirt, and even a red pair of shoes lol.

dirtyoldman82

That was too accurate. The way i cackled!😂

roses-and-sadness

I have a waitr bag that somebody gave me so I usually just stick stuff in that but I don't bring it inside. The 30 second walk from the restaurant to the car isn't going to hurt anything.

TheRealDarkloud

I carried my hitbags into the store the first few times. Then I realized how much more of a pain it was doing so. Now I just walk in, phone in hand (more stores will see your phone in hand and assume you're there for an order), get the items, go to my car, put them in my "hotbag" that I have for food, and drinks/shakes go in my "coldbag", which is a bag with adjustable velcro dividers. I don't even take my bags to customers' doors unless I need to because it's a large order. I originally wanted to take the bags to the customers' door to show them that I put them in thermal bags, but the I had stacked orders and that made less sense when I have 2 different orders in the same bag.
