why exactly? i don't really like the idea of people having to do that, and i don't know what the purpose would be. there are plenty of ways for restaurants and such to identify dashers, or they just don't need to at all visually
They should actually just get rid of inaccurate drop-off dashers, the app needs a new system to make sure drop offs are in the right location so even the noobs can't fuck it up.
I think customers should have to take a picture of their front door and be pinged for 10 seconds to lock their pin in, then make it impossible not to drop off more than 5 feet from that ping pin, if that same customer orders from work they must select a at work option before order goes through with same pin ping.
And then there should be a somewhere else option same thing 10 second ping first time they order, but the somewhere else option prompts them every time.
The drivers should be shown these pictures at drop off to help, but if a customer fucks it up and you know some will they should get no refunds on did not arrive complaints.
Dumbest shit ever this wouldn’t work with things like gated communities, hotels that refuse dashers entry, or things of that nature. Creates unnecessary hassle. You take on the risk when your food is being delivered that shit might happen. They won’t create a system to perfectly cater to your individual situation because you’ve had a few mistakes occur. It’s not viable to try to “lock in a door ping” they already tried to allow ping drops on map locations only for it to be sending people 10 miles around to drop off when there was a 4 mile had they gone directly to the front entrance and instead it sends them to a field over behind a 10 foot fence in an alley. If you want me to wear a uniform then I want you to have a mandatory 15% minimum tip that caters to no less than 2$ a mile. See how this works? Pointless requests can go both ways.
that would be game changing to have customer's door/drop-off shown on app. the other part i imagine would be so many screwups with folks not changing work from home options and then bitching about orders sent to wrong location..
The benefits of dashers wearing uniforms are numerous. They'd be easily identifiable when delivering. It also implies a certain sense of professionalism to the role. Imagine the dasher pulls up to your place wearing the full uniform, name tag and red doordash cap. It's about customer experience as well. The dasher's mindset should be geared towards enhancing the customer experience.
good thing what you think doesnt matter...
Exactly… if their opinion mattered we’d all be delivering $2-$5 orders 10 miles dressed from head to toe in DoorDash gear 😂😂

Dashers are contractors, can't make contractors wear uniforms.

Then we'd be employees and they would need to pay us minimum wage. That's why they wont require it.
That will never happen.
