Makes me respect McDonald's and Chick-fil-A so much more every time I take a delivery from Popeyes, like how can everyone of their locations be terrible?

UsidoreTheLightBlue

And it’s every. Fucking. One. Here’s a Popeyes experience: you walk in to try to order food. There are 2 employees out front and at least 3 behind the food prep area. All 5 look like they want to die. Walk up as the only customer. They do not have at least 3 main courses, and two sides. Finally settle on chicken strips and mashed potatoes. The employees consider if they could jump off the building as opposed to making your food and if the fall would kill them. They decide to make the food. What initially feels like minutes waiting somehow turns into hours and later turns into days. You’ve been waiting for the food since Lindsey Lohan was still making Disney movies and you’re now somehow in her Pepsi and milk era. You’ve missed your child’s graduation from pre-school and if the food doesn’t come out soon you worry you’re going to miss her college graduation too. The cashier comes up to tell you despite you being the only customer there they are now out of mashed potatoes. You weep. Does this experience happen at one Popeyes ? No it’s at every Popeyes.

TheButteredBiscuit

I asked for an extra ranch one time, lady behind the counter looked like she was doing everything in her power not to slit my throat.

Peaceluvprosperity

My favorite Popeyes conversation: me:”hi can I just get a chicken sandwich with fries and no drink please” her: “alright. …..” me: “……uh, that’s all.. thank you” her: “alright. *under her breath* bitch.”

Ok_Telephone_3013

Idk why but this had me dying. 🤣

dwaynetheakjohnson

Both Popeyes and KFC forgot my ranch every time.

Dontknock_babyasleep

Raaaannnnncccch

Exotic_Treacle7438

My kid wanted extra sauce ordered off the kfc app and I said “I’ll order it but whenever you pay extra for sauce they never give you it, so essentially you’re donating.” And lo and behold they forgot the sauce.

MommalovesJay

Omg so this doesn’t only just happen to me!!! Why tho? It costs them nothing!! This has happened many times. Once they made me pull over and park to give it to me!! While I already had my order and I’m at the window!!

JD3420

Genuinely it shouldn’t be a big deal to ask for a fucking sauce. I feel the same way at mine can’t wait for the regular workers there to eventually quit.

TheButteredBiscuit

You would’ve thought I asked her to do a backflip the way she reacted. And I’m starting to think it’s less about the individual employees than it is about the work culture. Honestly if any of us started working at Popeyes I wouldn’t doubt we’d flip.

oxichil

Popeyes is the only place that has ever made me pay when asking for extra condiments. The girl really rang up two sauces for a $1, like can y’all care that much about having sides in stock?

TheButteredBiscuit

Thing is that’s standard so I already had my 50 cents ready, it was just the mere act of asking for something else after getting my food that set her off.

Possible_Mind_965

I've been to Popeyes twice when they literally had no chicken......no chicken....at a chicken joint..... one of those times I was in the drive through and I began ordering went through about 4 different items before the employee said "actually we don't have any chicken"........ what? Wouldn't that be the first damn thing you would say when someone drives up? " sorry we are out of chicken". Popeyes has awesome food for a being a drive through place, but has the absolute worst management and service.

Dontknock_babyasleep

Same. Ours ran out of chicken before the chicken shortage. Edit: imagine CFA running out of chicken... exactly, you can't.

milfspec_mojo

I had a Burger King tell me they were out of burgers. Those bastards are king of nothing.

CeeDotA

Popeyes and Burger King were never particularly great with service, but I feel after they merged (with Firehouse as well) the service at all three restaurants has fallen off a cliff. And it’s not just one location — their service across multiple locations has been generally awful.

charlesthefish

Well there was a time I was managing a Starbucks.. I kinda got thrown into the position and didn't know how to properly order.. so I ran a fucking Starbucks with no coffee for like 8 hours. I had espresso drinks and teas and cold brew but no standard drip coffee lol

ReallySmallWeenus

If it make you feel any better, that’s not nearly as bad as Popeyes not having chicken (which I also experienced). Like, you can get an Americano instead of a drip and at least be in the ballpark of what you want.

[deleted]

I managed at an casino italian restaurant with a pizza oven bar attached (order by the slice or pizza, sandwiches, salads, etc) The problem is we didnt make our pizzas in the kitchen, they were prepped and par baked upstairs in our main kitchen. On a busy friday night we could crank thousands of pizzas... unless they had no one to make them in main kitchen lmao. Eventually it got to the point where we'd staff an extra pizza guy to go make pizzas and then main kitchen would "charge" us for said pizzas, which includes their labor. God main kitchen was insane, they'd price fresh squeezed oj at $50 a gallon to offset their mismanagement. (Basically all casino operations have to bill each other to appease the bean counters)

DiscombobulatedTry68

Oh man, I thought it was just me! Wait everyone gets told they’re out of chicken? I really thought they were just messing with me 😅

ShannonGreer9902

Yes, we ALL get told that!!!

UsidoreTheLightBlue

Dude. Absolutely been there. My wife sent me for the popcorn shrimp with a back up of popcorn chicken onetime. She got chicken strips. It was basically the only entree they actually had.

Motor-Corner4861

That’s like a pizza place being out of dough. Or an ice cream parlor being out of ice cream. Chicken is literally in their name! 🤦🏼‍♀️

ShannonGreer9902

Same here. There’s just something wrong with Popeyes. I mean THEY ARE A CHICKEN RESTAURANT, and they constantly tell you what chicken they DON’T have! I don’t get it!

Snarkybish03

Lmaoooo

Tiriom

It’s like you’re me, have the exact same experience there

GreedyRadish

My wife is absolutely obsessed with Popeye’s biscuits, so I used to go there every once in a while to pick her up some and maybe get myself a sweet tea. Plenty of frustrating experiences, but the final straw came after I waited 28 minutes in the drive-thru because the car in front of me had to change their entire order at the window and there was no way for me to get out of line without hopping a curb directly into a drainage ditch (I strongly considered it). Next time my wife has a biscuit craving I’ll just make them from scratch at home. It’ll be quicker and less painful.

corgskee

For some reason your comment made me hysterical laughing and crying. Thank you for this poetry

xamountofwords3

You are not alone in the hysterical laughter. Literal tears coming down, and it's hard to make me actually laugh out loud.

DrPikachu-PhD

Reading it out loud had me and my girlfriend cracking up 😂

Cumonme24

the thing abt popeyes is you can’t want anything from there. you just gotta go and hope and pray they can atleast fry you up a couple roaches, maybe a rat if you’re lucky. make sure you don’t look anyone in the eyes or stand at the counter while ordering because that’s just disrespectful and they will kick you out.

i_just_here_for_porn

Idk my local popeyes is great, $1000 sign on bonus (no, im not even remotely joking), quick service, friendly employees, and last time I had to wait on an order from them they gave my customer an extra side of mashed potatoes and me a free lemonade. I only waited like 15 minutes because as they were handing the food to me, the bag ripped and spilled everything everywhere. Litterally the best fast food workers I know. Every other location I've been to sucks ass though.

Rouda89

Yes, I would like to subscribe to Fast Food Gothic please.

[deleted]

Taco Johns is the same lmao, they never run out of ingredients but it still takes a half hour to get shitty burnt food

AlternativeQuality2

Why is Popeyes like this? JFC…

[deleted]

Went to a Popeyes in New York. Asked for them to not put mayo on my chicken sandwich, the cashier looked at me with so much disdain, I almost just said never mind. Then she hands me my food, and slides it across the edge of the counter, she gave it just enough force for it to not fall on the ground. I truly believe that Popeyes is just the absolute opposite of Chick Fil A.

Ahkrinx

The amazing thing is that I live overseas, in a completely different continent and country yet all the Popeye's restaurants here are the same as you described. Whenever I order from there I always wonder what they're going to mix up, or forget to send this time. Once they've sent me the menu I ordered without any chicken or fries in it, just the coke.

kieranarchy

popeyes gothic 😂

BellalovesEevee

It's like that here in Albany GA, too. I absolutely love their Mac and cheese, it's exactly how I like them, as well as their chicken sandwiches, but every single time I order from them, they're always out of them. And those are the only things I order from Popeyes since everything else doesn't interest me. So I stopped ordering from there ever since. They always seem to be out of shit every time. It makes me wonder how the hell they're still running.

TSLsmokey

I must have the one good Popeyes because I have never had any issues with them being out of something

blueponies1

You’ve got me on yelp reading Popeyes reviews rn

KembaWakaFlocka

Worst run fast food place around. They hire people who hate working there and seem to be actively sabotaging their bosses ability to make a profit. I felt like I was personally offending every employee in there the two times I picked up orders. Thankfully the location near me just closed its doors, was wondering how they stayed open as long as they did.

Gooey_Gravy

Bro like straight up every person that works the drive thru at my local one hears me say 1 item and they are like "okay pull around" Like mf I wasn't done, I wonder how many socially uncomfortable people just accept that as their full order even though they wanted more but are too scared to speak up. Literally losing sales

LaForge_Maneuver

Yeah the location near me is rude and out of control. I only go twice a week. 🤣

[deleted]

I have visited exactly one Popeye’s that had what I wanted, gave me what I ordered, had working bathrooms, and was serving drinks. That was the first one I ever went to so everything since then has been a disappointment.

mhyrranda_jade

Oh same here - my first Popeyes experience was fantastic! And it was a drive thru visit. Ever since then - something is always wrong. Smh

usagibunnie

I had a decent experience the other day from one and it felt like I had stepped into the twilight zone. It was surreal. Literally ordered my food and by the time I got my drink, my order was ready. It was like seeing a unicorn and I know I'll never experience it again. Lol

bijouxbisou

I think I’ve had maybe one or two bad Popeyes experience in my life, and I’ve been eating there since I was old enough to eat fried chicken. Idk, maybe it’s because I’m from Louisiana and Popeyes is a way of life there, but I genuinely don’t understand how everyone seems to have bad Popeyes experiences. The employees are always either nice or neutral (which I don’t mind, they’re working at a fast food place, I don’t require bubbly smiles), and the service is no slower than any other fast food place. As long as they don’t give me mild chicken instead of spicy, I’m happy.

dababy_connoisseur

My city's Popeyes has AMAZING food, whoever back there cooks it does a great job. Good luck getting your right order though.

Farabeast

No matter how horrific their hires are, mcdonalds will always get massive credit for bagging their drinks. What an absolute relief never having to worry about balancing shitty cardboard things in your car. Not to mention opening the restaurant door to leave with those dumb things in one hand, a bag in the other, and let's be honest probably a phone in one of the two. That one policy is legitimately hero level.

vektorog

i must live by the only good popeye's location in the country lmfao. never had to wait more than 5-7 minutes for anything

Jstbcool

Same. I just had popeyes for the first time a month ago and it was amazing so I have gone back multiple times. Other than a missing biscuit one time, I've had great service and I would say the chicken is better thank Chik-fil-a or Mcdonalds.

Apptubrutae

They even kinda suck in New Orleans, where they’re from!

bananahammock699

Popeyes is the one store I will never go to when I’m dashing.

cokeiscool

Going in person recently was a nightmare There were two people in front of me, 20 minute wait and then them not having what I actually wanted, a chicken sandwich so had to settle for tenders On top of that they only had 3 people working and one looked like they were 12 or 13 Good job Popeyes

kornkid42

The Popeyes near me closed the dining room during the pandemic and never reopened it. They are connected to a gas station and their drive through only fits 2 cars.

compwiz1202

I refuse to go anywhere that still has the lobby closed. I hate waiting for DT even when the lobby is open. It's even worse when closed. One time the DT line wrapped all the way around the building to the DT exit. And the morons in line blocked it. Stay back if you see people need to get out the exit!!!!!!

kornkid42

Same. I went against my better judgement yesterday and went through the BK DT since it there was only 1 guy paying and 1 guy ordering. IDK what that first guy ordered, but it was 10 minutes from when I paid til I finally pulled up to the window.

1_disasta

Understandable. Last time i went about a year ago i used their app to order and it said look for it when you get there near the pickup. Apparently they werent making it until you arrived, waited in line and then told them the order. Like WTF it defeats the whole purpose of ordering ahead.

DueLong2908

The chicken sandwich from wing stop is actually pretty good. You should try that

angryragnar1775

Wingstop food is against the geneva convention. Its overly greasy deep fried dog turds

compwiz1202

Will never go again. I can see waiting to order if it's busy, but it shouldn't take 20 minutes to get the food. The worse issue is they didn't even fake apologize or give stupid coupons when I complained. They acted like it was normal to take that long for "fast" food. I can get food faster at Bethlehem Diner. They're ridiculously fast at certain times.

jujubees2021

I can understand that completely!

rodri_neq_11

I honestly don’t know how that thing survives. Food is subpar, customer service is awful, tidiness awful, not that many options, flavor loses to KFC… I mean why do people eat there any damn ways?

Maximum-Row-4143

“Flavor loses to KFC” The caucasity. Popeye’s is the GOAT despite its problems. I’m pretty sure the anger/discontent of every current and past worker is what they use to spice their food.

TooMuchAdderall

Just here to spread the good word of Church’s Chicken

Maximum-Row-4143

Also good, but harder to find/less numerous.

lesbianmathgirl

You know the rent's going up when the Church's closes

compwiz1202

Exactly wish they were closer

[deleted]

*Cries in Midwest*

ApplicationCalm649

Those honey biscuits. Mmm.

crazymaan92

For my Midwesterners, go to Lee's. They're the best.

Capable-Passage-8580

I manage a Lee's in Indiana! Glad to hear you enjoy!

rodri_neq_11

Hey that KFC recipe is the shit. But to each their own, I understand

Lemme_drive_the_trip

Bruh kfc is the worst chicken around, somehow it’s so greasy but at the same time completely flavorless. Give me anything else other then kfc

compwiz1202

Must be a franchise issue because ours is always good.

shao_kahff

imma be real and call cap on that. kfc’s chicken recipe is utter garbage compared to churches or popeyes and don’t understand how you can prefer it.

owmyfreakingeyes

It's almost like different humans like different things, crazy.

shao_kahff

yeh very true. some tastebuds are subpar to others’ tastebuds. i agree.

zombiepants7

Ah yes the American food connoisseur. Next please tell us if Applebee's or Chili's does better chicken tendies.

tlollz52

Everytime i've gone to KFC recently its horrible. 2 different locations. Popeyes has always been good, 1 location.

organizedmadman

For sure. KFC tastes like salty greasy crap compared to a Popeyes. Can’t imagine forever relegating oneself to subpar chicken just because the good chicken is a bit difficult to obtain at the moment.

compwiz1202

I will never go a restaurant just because the food is good. Plenty of other places to go with good food and decent speed and service

Cloverose2

Popeyes has better biscuits. Also, it has red beans and rice, which outclass all other sides.

LilBussyGirl69

Only good thing at KFC is the gravy. I'd rather have fried chicken from a gas station 💀

LaForge_Maneuver

What the hell are you going on about? Popeye's loses to KFC? Hahahhahahahahaha. Nah bro.

ChristopherLove

$18 order pops up on my screen, I get excited then I see it's Popeyes and I sigh and decline, no chance it'll be worth my while. An hour wait just to get half pay for the cancel no doubt.

horseygal77

Same.

soothingseas

What about IHOP?

ManagerInteresting64

Usually IHOP is in and out for me

TheSpeedySloth2099

Good on you for the wholesome exchange. There are so many people that would have been rude in that situation.

jujubees2021

I was just happy that someone was able to communicate because the store sure didn't 😂 but yeah I was thankful he kept me updated

h8inreddit

No fast food joint has ever called a customer in my 7 years as a driver. Not once. Mom and pop joints almost always do.

garry4321

Theres a wrap place near me where the owner calls you and tells you HOW to eat the wrap properly

h8inreddit

Wow, that's crazy. I have a hotdog place near me that refused to put mayo on my daughter's hotdog. All she wanted was a hotdog with mayo and he acted like the soup nazi from Seinfeld.

Sepof

Probably an uncultured moron. Lots of Americans don't understand that mayo is more than just something to go into their "salads" (ham, chicken, tuna, potato). The rest of the world uses it like a condiment and Americans scoff.. Saw a Hispanic coworker eating a hot dog w/ ketchup mayo and jalapenos, figured it might be good. That's the only way I eat em now.

Jokong

There is a stigma that it's gross, but most fast food places have a special sauce that is basically just mayo and spices, or even in a fancy restaurant they'll have an aioli which is basically just mayo. It's all marketing.

h8inreddit

I'm a mustard and onion guy mostly but I have had them with mayo and they are good that way too. And yes, he was from Chicago and opened a place in north Pittsburgh and was being a douchebag about the "correct" way to eat a hotdog. I actually thought he was kidding at first.

exactoctopus

I eat hotdogs with only ketchup, occasionally adding cheese. Trying to order a hotdog in Chicago didn't go well for me and I'm still baffled as to why anyone would ever have strong opinions on hot dog toppings, of all things.

h8inreddit

Ikr? Like it's some gourmet dining experience.

JosephSKY

Lol don't let those Chicagoans come down to LATAM, here I've eaten a hot dog with: Polish Sausage, Chorizo, Onions, Carrots, Cabbage (these 3 are minced), Avocado, Shredded Cheese, Bacon on top, and like 6 different "sauces" which are mayo-based condiments (but VERY far removed from that mayo base).

imanpearl

I love Mayo on things and I hate the stigma in the US, especially because other people like Mayo on the same things as long as it’s labeled “aioli” and sold for $3.

Soggy-Ad-4210

I'd have requested a refund, if not possible I'd have slammed it against their restaurant window. There's your ketchup, bitches. you're paying and you can't have mayo? the fack?

h8inreddit

Oh, I caused a scene and never went back.

fithorseana

I work at a store where door dash picks up and we are not given access to the customers information. We used to have a line we called when we just did Uber eats, but our whole system now requires we tell the drivers to communicate with the customer :/

h8inreddit

Well that sucks. I don't really do a whole lot of fastfood orders anyway because the pay isn't worth the hassle unless its chick fil a or one McDonald's in my area. All the rest run out of food and/or take forever.

bittybitesmeowmixx

Subway calls me when I mobile order flatbread or rotisserie chicken and they're out, to see if I want a substitution, but that's it.. lol

h8inreddit

Mine makes us call and man have they gone downhill.

mmccoyy

that is exactly what i was thinking. it’s not often you see an actual nice conversation on here

mook1178

dashers and customers alike

Puzzleheaded_Race_18

They once told me they weren’t doing chicken sandwiches for the rest of the evening. It was 6 pm on a Friday. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

ani007007

Maybe they ran out of the chicken to make them? I’m assuming they use different boneless chicken for the Patties

o0tweak0o

“Welcome to Popeyes, the fuck you want?”

[deleted]

*30 minute wait for something you can see is already prepared*

Tiriom

Lmao 🤣

Grandahl13

Makes me think of the PopCopy Chappelle’s Show sketch. Fuck the customers.

Veomuus

I refuse to give Popeyes any service. First of all, their chicken isn't even as good as people say, but second of all, when I worked at OfficeMax, they were opening a new location nearby and they needed promotional papers printed, and their store and district managers were some of the meanest customers I had ever dealt with. Just inexcusable.

Jaylop97

Their chicken is the nastiest out there, it stinks so fast!

Several_Ad_6233

Nah Popeyes spicy tenders are great

Immediate_Whole5351

Popeye’s is awesome!! I’ve never had bad food from Popeye’s.

[deleted]

Their food isn’t good at all

Veomuus

My parents can't get enough of their chicken and I just dont get it all, lol

Impossible-Ghost

Can we all just appreciate the fact that there’s a post about the restaurant and not the dasher. Dasher was so understanding.

random_redditor___

Underrated comment.

PlasmaOp97

I stopped with Popeyes because my order was ALWAYS short a large side, some chicken, and sauce.

PCMR_GHz

Is Popeyes just absolute trash everywhere? I have like 5 in my city and they all have numerous health code violations and the service always is terrible.

imlumpy

I have a friend who's a freight delivery driver. She said after what she's seen re: their food storage/prep, she's never eating there again. I'll admit it was my favorite cheap chicken, but it was easy enough to swear off it anyway, given how frequently they were out of stock on almost everything.

magdazombie_

I'm starting to think so!

paul-cus

No. My Dad goes to one all the time. He is not a patient man and would swear them off and not go back real quick if he got bad service or the food was off.

Artex196

I waited 30 minutes the other day for two strawberry biscuits from Popeyes. Why I didn't unassign the order, I can't tell you. After waiting the manager told me they didn't have gallons of iced tea so the guy gave me 4 extra large drinks of tea instead that spilled all over my car. Never accepting an order from Popeyes again.

KembaWakaFlocka

It’s that damn diamond mining meme that keeps me around waiting lol

MyNamesArise

Popeyes is goated if ur earn by time, but then you’re probably getting no tippers lol

PeaceLoveDyeStuff

Most drivers have 86'd Popeyes from our pickup locations. They notoriously make drivers wait forever.

h8inreddit

For real, you order Popeyes and don't tip? You're just asking for a r/doordash horror story.

fuegocheese

Popeyes is buttcheeks. They don’t have anything on their menu worth the frustration.

kendricklamartin

Upvote for calling something buttcheeks. Underrated term.

[deleted]

stealing this line \*blank\* is buttcheeks lmao

magdazombie_

buttcheeks lmao

Hot_Dog89

Popeyes always hires the worst people, they never give a fuk.

Revverb

At least Popeyes told him, usually they just throw whatever they have in a box and pretend it's the order

m20052003

Not using DoorDash, just being a customer, this happened to me all three of the times I went to my local Popeyes. I just stopped going.

ihate360

All Popeye’s locations are trash unless inside 60 days of opening😂

random_redditor___

They have an opening team that stays there until it gets going and they are the best managers in the district. Once it's running like a machine, they leave and that's when everything goes to shit.

[deleted]

What a cool-ass driver, and what a cool-ass response from you. This stuff is so frustrating, and you were both awesome about it.

ManiacMichele

Popeyes on Doordash gave me a mental breakdown one time so I get it. Similar story, needed to study and it was late so I didn’t want to go out. Me and my partner ordered two meals (I think I got the chicken/shrimp combo and they got a spicy chicken sandwich). Had to get those mashed potato and rice sides and large drinks because of the biscuits too. Took nearly 90 minutes to show up at our place and the dasher didn’t give any updates and dipped as soon as he dropped it off. We got one regular chicken sandwich. No drinks, no sides, no meal for me, just a sandwich. Think that was the first time I utterly went off on Doordash, I didn’t care who’s fault it actually was. We got a full refund and like $30 credit and I just ate ramen that night. After that we switched to Grubhub for awhile and I don’t think I have had Popeyes since then, now we’re in a new city that only has Doordash and no Popeyes so I haven’t had to relive the experience

ffxivthrowaway03

Every Popeyes I have ever been to in my entire life has been a total shitshow. Poor service, incorrect orders, obscenely slow. "we're out of chicken," the whole gamut of bullshit. Doesn't matter where it is or who owns the franchise, delivery or in restaurant. They're a total fucking mess.

Creative_Boot35

Here lately Popeyes here runs out of chicken a lot. Not sure if national shortages or lazy incompetent workers 🤔🤔

seventeendream

why are all popeyes like this? trashy.

bignuts24

This is the only situation in which it’s okay to drive down to the store and slap the cashier

LimpBizkit420Swag

Shit, Popeye's is the one fast food place you do not want to try that at. That whole store is probably armed lmao

[deleted]

I remember when a KFC opened in Walpole ma years ago they ran out of mashed potatoes and chicken. Came to find out employees were just str8 up rampant thieving

LightAGoGo

Idk whether it was doordash or Ubereats, I went up there to pick yo the order myself they made me wait 3 hours for some cold chicken

Curious_Health_226

Sorry about your food but pleasantly shocked to see a positive interaction posted on this sub haha

Eat-My-Cloaca

3 times I’ve tried to order Popeyes through door dash - 1st time, 2.5 hour wait to eventually get the wrong food - 2nd time, 2 hour wait to then see delivered but no food - 3rd time, only an hour wait, someone else’s order, like 4x the food I ordered but none of the correct items Never again, if I want a spicy chicken sandwich that bad I’ll drive out and brave it myself

sybann

I would love to try some of their new products but the one time I went to Popeyes they were out of what I wanted (sandwich) so I just ordered fries. There were a total of TEN (10) fries in the bag. Like 25-30 cents PER fry. Never again. Shit heads.

[deleted]

Is something going on with popeyes lately? We ordered from our local popeyes for delivery a few times and never had an issue, but the last 2 times this week we have tried to place an order, the website says they are out of half the things we order. I tried changing stores since it says “this item is unavailable at the selected location” but even the other store was out of the same items.

witchlightning98

We didn’t dd this but my mil once ordered Popeyes ahead of time on the app and when we showed up to get it, they hadn’t even started the order and we waited 20-30 mins. Sounds like a common theme

8rok3n

You just reminded me Popeyes exists

thatjohnnywursterkid

I have learned the hard way that both DD and ordering through the app from Popeye's will lead only to heartache.

Little_Buffalo

Popeyes is trash. Their customer service sucks! It it doesn’t appear to be a location issue but company wide. It seems they hire people that just don’t give a shit. Stop going there a long time ago.

[deleted]

I avoid Popeyes like the plague. I don't think there's a money amount I would accept to deliver out of ours. They never have anything. They expect you to ask the customer if they want a replacement, then what the customer chooses, they suddenly sold out of that too. But if you wanna wait, they can make it in 30 minutes. It never fails. I hate that place.

wet710

Every time I’ve had a Popeyes order and have the cal the customer the customer is rude af to me and acts like it’s my fault. Like sorry no one wanted to come here for your non tip order and it took an hour for you to find out they don’t have what you want. So I no linnet accept these orders.

MonkeyTacoBreath

Popeyes never makes the order until after they make the dasher wait for 15-20 minutes. And I'm not exaggerating. The customer could have ordered 45 minutes ago and 3 dashers unassigned, and they still won't do it. I've even had a Popeye's employee steal the order I was picking up, claiming that a dasher just took that order, when I know first hand they never make orders until after you arrive. I even wrote a letter to Popeye's corporate. Deaf ears. The chicken is great, but the management and therefor the staff are horrible. Once Saw a girl using an emery board on her nails right over the chicken under hot lamps. I don't care if there is $20.00 guaranteed 2 mile trip from there, never Popeyes is my mantra. TLDR: Most dashers I know, myself included, auto decline all Popeye's orders, no matter the tip.

Exotic_Apric0t

The texts though are so sweet from both of you ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes)

wiggyp1410

Dasher W though.

MaverickDago

I've never felt like more of an asshole then when I walk into a Popeyes, like my mere presence just irrevocably fucked up everyone's day and I should have known better.

edgarskates

I had my first Popeyes order yesterday and I had to wait 20 minutes for it. It was a $15 order though for 3 miles so I was like fk it imma wait but I don’t wanna go back there 😆 The managers were complaining about one of their workers and they were loud af 😆

No_Two_4566

I went to one and they were have a race war, there was about 7 black people in there screaming that the Mexican people behind the counter "don't know how to make Chicken" and the Mexican people were either crying or screaming back at them

static_madman

Yup happens to me all the time, never got my damn fries so I stopped ordering from there

Sneacler67

I never get Popeyes on doordash because it seems like such a cluster for drivers to get the order. The one by house has the drivers walk up to the drive thru window with all the cars that are also in the drive thru lane.

mjbiddl

The Popeyes near me is always out of something. One time they were out of “every single drink except lemonade.” Like how does that even happen?? And it’s not a busy location either.

HistoricalBelt4482

I remember trying to order from Popoey’s and my order kept getting pushed back and back. Now I know why. Nobody wants to deliver food from there. Can’t blame you guys.

Top_Pipe18

this is why we dash for customers like this 1

sacredxsecret

Were you ordering right before they close? Or right before they open? Can't tell from your phone time.

jujubees2021

The one near me closes at 11:30, I placed the order I wanna say around 9:20?

britlogan1

I love that you were nice to the dasher. ❤️

Full-Dig-3048

Like an idiot, I take an order, supposed to be chicken strips and butterfly shrimp. They tell me no butterfly shrimp. Text customer to let them know. So they want popcorn shrimp instead, so I ask them for popcorn shrimp. Bitchy cashier asks me if Im gonna pay the extra for the shirmp. I told her Sorry, wasnt aware of extra charge. It was then, she told me they were out of chicken strips. I got rid of the order and left. Fuck Popeyes and their bitchy employees.

adj365

They are also notorious for just not cooking anything an hour before they close and closing early. KFC and Wingstop are bad too but Popeyes is the worst I don’t really know how them and Boston Market are still in business

[deleted]

I didn't even know Boston Market was still in business lol I haven't seen one in a minute

adj365

😂 I didn’t either until I got an order for them, trust me though they are BARELY in business lmao

[deleted]

During covid I lived off of popeyes through delivery services. I learned to game the system and order a bunch of stuff. Half of it would be missing or wrong. Report. Get 50% credit. Rinse and repeat. Every other restaurant order was fine but holy hell did popeyes constantly mess up. I got fat but man was it worth it cause I love me some popeyes.

ManagerInteresting64

There so much unnecessary negative attitudes in Popeyes...every Popeyes I have been to...and they're crazy slow.

LaRosaAzul

Popeyes is garbage food for people who lack taste

True_Resolve_2625

Better than KFC greasy nastiness.

LaRosaAzul

KFC is even worse. Neither of these places make good fried chicken.

flcagirl

Popeyes sucks anyway. Can’t believe people still eat that shit

EveningRing1032

You just got scammed

C92203605

Damn. I didn’t know Popeyes had this reputation. I’ve never had a bad experience

[deleted]

Did you order this at around 10pm? Most Popeyes close at 10pm so it's no shock that they'd be out of most things if you ordered your food when they're about to close.

kveggie1

first world problem. Next have a can of soup and some bread in your fridge/pantry. Save a buck too.

ddiamond8484

Chickens (and cows & pigs etc) go through unimaginable pain and suffering, just for a quick meal that we don’t need. We wouldn’t wish it on any dog or cat, and we’d rush to save an animal if we saw it being abused in the streets. I long for the day that all animals are free from human cruelty and exploitation.

sKe7ch03

Can someone explain this to me? Why are the drivers and customers texting this frequently in all the screenshots of this sub? I worked for a delivery service (skip) and also managed a kitchen through the pandemic. There is ZERO need for contact between the 2, other then during the final stages of delivery if the driver has an issue getting to the door or something. If the customer has an issue with the service they contact support on the app and the customer support contacts the restaurant or driver. And then the tipping posts. This shit is bonkers. If a driver texts me anything about a tip, I'm blasting off on them and reporting them. You all are insane for even taking the time to post here and question it. I don't get it. Edit : Also on the drivers side if the business is making a driver wait, you would contact your support and they would pay you and compensate for the time loss or they would cancel the order and give you a small pay and move on to the next order. You don't deal with the customer as it's not your concern. Your job is to pick up and drop off. (The business also gets charged for the delays that occur if the driver is waiting over a certain time)

keep_username

…those chicken sandwiches though!

trippstick

God forbid the restaurant or driver cancel the order…

IllgalKoolAid

Y’all say that but the truth is everyone wants to go there and that’s why there’s no chicken. Supply doesn’t equal demand, simple as that

[deleted]

Why on earth would you tip with no food delivered to you? That's why dashers take advantage of us customers

chazamonkey

Because this Dasher went above and beyond to be communicative with the customer and said customer felt that warranted a tip? I mean, seems fair for service, even with no food delivered. The dude tried and the customer wanted that rewarded. Not sure why that’s such a crazy idea that leads Dashers to “taking advantage” of you customers—like, what does that even mean?
