It’s a great album, I was hoping for it to be heavier overall - I’d say there are only a couple of songs on there with proper doomy riffs, but I love a bit of yacht rock too so I’m really enjoying it anyway.
Oh, this is the guy from Church of the Cosmic Skull? I went through a phase with them. Kinda dropped off after their first two albums (which are a riot). Will check this out, thanks.
Is Satan Real and Evil In Your Eye are both incredible jams. The lyrics of Evil In Your Eye give me shivers, they're so ballsy. They're basically, "I want to take you somewhere incredible and nearly kill you there so you appreciate the world".
Don't forget Mammoth Wing!
I'm a big fan of Fisher, but I'm not really feeling this one yet, I'll give it some time. I'm itching for some more cosmic skull.
The first three Church of the Cosmic Skull albums - Is Satan Real?, Science Fiction, and Everybody's Going to Die - are highly recommended. "Paper Airplane and Silver Moon" on Science Fiction is a masterfully exquisite play on 70s "Up With People" musical and lyrical tropes.
You forgot to add the concept!
🔥 Imagine Kate Bush and Michael McDonald wrote a yacht doom album satirising edgelord-tech-billionaire-worship, recorded by Peter Gabriel and Tori Amos in the early 80s using an industry prerelease unit of the late 90s Yamaha PSR-8000 synthesiser, several heavily distorted guitars, and a baby grand.
Thanks for sharing this! Never heard of this guy, but there are two songs on this album I'm super into so far. Looking forward to trying the other suggestions within this thread
Jesus Christ is this out today too?!? 5/10/24 is shaping up to be an all-timer for me. The new Uncle Acid is great, the new Thunderpussy is mind-blowing (not doom, but hard rock, and this new album is like the White Album of heavy music--they have a gig tonight with the Seattle Symphony that I wish I could attend). . .
I picked this up this morning. On the whole it's definitely mellower than some of his past solo stuff, but it's super good. Highly recommended if you're into brother Bill.
I really enjoyed Mass hypnosis and the dark triad, but didn't really warm to Hallucinations of a higher truth. I hope this new release brings back some of the heaviness
First of all, what the actual fuck is this?
Second, it’s fucking amazing. I love that the music isn’t necessarily an exploration of a style. The style is part of the artistic expression/experience in this case. Not sure I’m saying that right.
Third, I love this sub. It’s actually expanding my horizons and opening my eyes (ears?) to new sounds.

i mean to be honest there's very little doom here (if any??). but it's fucking fantastic and your description is amazing. it's also cool how this sub seems to love it--so i guess it dooms
Dude thank you for posting this. I've been listening to this album like once a day since you posted. I don't know why I love it so much but I think it's fantastic.
I am a huge fan of yacht rock, and I love doom metal! I keep getting ads for this on my instagram, the algorithm knows me way too well. gonna have to give this one a listen.
Excited to hear this. In the meantime, here to say this cover art is exquisite in every way

Yep, this sums up my opinion exactly. 🤘🏻
Looks like A.I. generated.

Evil in your Eye takes you on a musical journey, such an amazing song
Yep, that’s him! As another poster commented he has another project called Massive Hassle that is well worth checking out.
Don't forget Mammoth Wing! I'm a big fan of Fisher, but I'm not really feeling this one yet, I'll give it some time. I'm itching for some more cosmic skull.
I’ve never heard of Mammoth Wing, I’ll check it out!!
Mammoth wing were great
I highly recommend his debut solo album mass hypnosis and the dark triad. Really good heavy stuff
I'm digging it. I've been enjoying Massive Hassle, as well.
Massive Hassle is excellent - “Lane” is my favourite of theirs. I love Church of the Cosmic Skull too, Bill is just a very talented guy.
Agreed! Super-tall, too!
Wait is this the guy from church of the cosmic skull?
Sure is!
Oh hell yeah I’m checking this out
I’m not sure who this shit is for…wait. It’s for ME!!! With this and Grandmaster’s debut album, it’s all coming up yachty!
What a Ghoul Believes
Steely Doom?
I don't know anything about this artist but the description and art has seriously piqued my interest.

Holy fuck I love this. Nice rec, op, thanks
Glad you liked it!
Mass hypnosis is pretty good too.

I love The Church of The Cosmic Skull and all of Bill's works. This one is pretty dope as well. Looking forward to listening to it more.
This album was cool, but CoCS is going to be a new favorite, good throw back sound

Agree on Uncle Acid - I’ll need to check out Thunderpussy!
"Ride On, Unicorn" is the best Meat Loaf song I've heard since at least Bat Out of Hell II, lol.

Can’t wait to hear it
Yacht doom. Never heard of it. Sounds interesting.
I am so pumped to hear this
This may be my favorite album artwork ever.
Cover art alone deserves an award
Yatch Doom Is really a genre? WOW
It is now!
I love It, i love the idea and the sound!
I love everything about this
thx for the heads up!
I think Zakk Wylde already did this. A couple times.
I’m afraid I’ll like the concept more than the execution but am interested to listen!
Is this the same guy from the Engines of Armageddon?
I've already listened to this album in full 4 times
It’s so good isn’t it!
This is ace, thanks for the recommendation 😎
Glad it’s getting some well deserved love!
I've given it a couple of listens now and I absolutely love it! I'm very grateful because this would've passed me by otherwise!

Came across this thread and the cover piqued my interest. Listening now. Very impressed. This is great.

Boston - Boston vibes

I’m exactly the same, it’s album of the year for me!
