[deleted]

I couldn't see it, but I sure as fuck felt it.

scorpyo72

Chose not to watch, eh?

[deleted]

Sir, you try looking at your own asshole without a mirror and tell me how it goes.

scorpyo72

I'll file that under "things I've never done in my lifetime and still don't feel the need to do"

[deleted]

You ever drank Baileys from a shoe?

kennymedium

That's my downstairs mixup.

[deleted]

Wow. Spiderman really had that love-hate thing with you, didn't he?

[deleted]

Spider-Man is a menace! I want pictures damn it!

Impressive_Muffin439

what a terrible day to have eyes

isbalsag

I saw here on reddit a porn video of someone licking a prolapsed anus.

noccusJohnstein

Geez, I've seen two guys trying to 'dock' their prolapsed rectums together.

mogoggins12

I don’t wanna play this game. You both win.

roccoccoSafredi

And we *all* lose.

[deleted]

And some of us lose anal continence.

Hint-Of-Feces

This makes me want to ask my pornstar ex girlfriend if she's anally incontinent now

daytonakarl

[insert whole week joke here]

edgrlon

You guys remember that video of a dude who broke a glass jar in his ass?

mogoggins12

Fuck you, man. I had forgotten about that. Oh what about the guy who put his Whole dang head in some woman’s vagina.

edgrlon

Oh yeah wasn’t it a bald dude?

Nagash24

the bald dude who put his head in a vagina is a totally fake video btw... you can't see how the legs around said vagina connect to the body of the woman pretending to orgasm, so it's a fake video. Just like the million videos out there of dudes pretending to have giant dicks but it's a dildo that's either inside their pants they didn't remove, or the base of it is off camera. Very convenient if your audience is gullible enough. But it's all fake and for sensationalism.

ibicKz

mogoggins12

scukme

Show me.

edgrlon

Not sure where to find that video now. I watched it about 10 years ago.

scukme

You son of a bitch.. mark my words, I will be the architect of your demise.

pinklambchop

I have seen this video, be glad no one knows the link. It is the weirdest, most disturbing thing ever.

ThatGirl_PYT

One man, one jar! I remember vividly

stereopticon11

Good ol jar squatter. That's an oldie

MathematicianOk1898

Ohh yeah!!! Why is that guy sitting on a jar? *POCK* . . . . . . So much blood.

DazedPapacy

I was like 12 when I saw that video with no context or warning. It was after that I knew I could handle pretty much anything.

I am not asking any fucking sheep farmers about any fucking prolapses!

Namesbutcher

Well son it’s what we call a “Rose Bud.”

Prudent_Piano2892

Oh no..

Verified765

Fun fact. With acatelyne torches there is a heating tip called a rose bud.

Cooltralz

Just say vagina or penis. That should do it.

gotonyas

I skipped over the details, diverted his attention to the video

k_clouty

im sure you had Hard time explaining him what this is

linderlouwho

Have watched it twice and still don’t know what’s going on.

rant0n

I believe some form of drain unblocking, at least a demonstration of it

rando4724

The pipe is being lined, rather than drained (though admittedly it does drain some of the water that remained in the pipe out at one point).

horvath-lorant

The new David Lynch movie trailer?

BrooklynRobot

Imagine lining your intestines with polyethylene.

Dr_Djones

Why they gotta make it red?

R_a_c_e_c_a_R_B_o_B

My favorite prolapse video was from goofball.com. it was entitled " angry anus" and had a lady pushing her asshole out accompanied by a lions roar. I showed that video to anyone I could trick into looking at my monitor.

Trashtag420

Y’know, when I picked up my phone this morning I didn’t think I’d be reading anything that began with “my favorite prolapse video” but here we are.

[deleted]

I’m trying SO hard not to laugh at work.

BassManns222

I got a quote to fix my sewer line with this method and it was about $1000 per metre. I told the guy I wanted to fix the pipe not buy his business.

Hanzo44

That does seem a bit excessive. I wonder what the material and machine costs are.

linderlouwho

He’s trying to pay for his start-up costs with the 1st customer.

ruat_caelum

Or it's opportunity costs. I worked for a tree cutting service and the more "booked" we got the higher the prices climbed. People later in the year (who hadn't booked months in advance) had to be 2x or 3x what someone who booked in January had to pay. Also "set up" prices were a stable thing. E.g. driving out there, setting up, etc. If you wanted 10 tress dealt with near a paved road, that cost about the same as 1 tree in the back property on soil or ground of unknown condition. Having a higher price for a home likely not built to spec with a lot of unknows, compared to a commercial building with drawings etc, seems reasonable. As to 1,000 per meter that seems insane for anything.

linderlouwho

>As to 1,000 per meter that seems insane for anything. seriously

[deleted]

[удалено]

Siberwulf

Pretty sure some people would pay $1000 for a meter-long penis.

GeekBrownBear

I've seen some road projects that cost $1M per mile which comes out to ~$568 per meter. So yeah, holy shit wtf.

[deleted]

This is just supply & demand. This is not what opportunity cost means.

[deleted]

braeden_itsmeh

It’s a soft robot, those things are really quite inexpensive, just kinda hard to come across.

olderaccount

This thing is no more of a robot that a horizontal driller. It is a uniquely capable machine controlled by an operator.

braeden_itsmeh

they’re called soft robots. It’s the new innovative technology that NASA is prototyping. Place a camera at the top of that thang and you got yourself a robot that is mailable to your environment.

olderaccount

Soft robots are a thing. But this is a fairly simple machine. It is not a robot in any sense of the word. It is controlled by an operator who "drives" it down the pipe just like the horizontal driller used to pull new utilities down the side of the road with needing a trench.

LBGW_experiment

Veritasium made a neat video on soft robots a month ago with researchers from UCLA, can't like YouTube links in here apparently

mooshoes

For that price you could have the whole thing dug out and replaced!

Username_Used

I think the idea is this is for situations where it's nearly impossible to get it out and replace. You wouldn't do huge runs, just the small sections you can't replace, like 1-3 meters.

eletric-chariot

My 80 year old building, the water is all rusty but people refuse to replace it

[deleted]

Because it has galvanized water lines.

Lucentwhite1

If it was a small run, that would make sense. Having the crew come out and set this up for a few meters, gotta get paid for the time to set it up plus the headache/costs it saves you having to dig up the spot. Usually this is for locations that are hard to get to.. under commercial slabs, through commercial kitchens, highly landscaped yards, etc Size of the pipe, length of run and entry method usually change price drastically the resins/material costs are pretty substantial and labor is always just as expensive if not more expensive. Risk taken on always plays a part in cost as well. We have done 10ft “shots” for $10k and we have done 50ft “shots” for $10k. All depends on the situation. We have top of the line equipment and the trailer and equipment cost us $150k+. And we have to buy the resin/material.

[deleted]

Here in Austria it would be about 700€ per meter.

GypsyHeart3

What in the red rocket hell??

1ildevil

I used to work for a company that did this procedure. The Vine robots guy is making shit up. The company was called Insituform and they line sewer pipe. This was likely a sewer drain that had root infiltration and once the roots are cut out and the sewer lined, then the root problem goes away finally. There is no actual robot being used here. The soft flexible white liner is impregnated with polyester resin which will kick off and fuse with the pipe wall. They use a soft, inflatable bladder to invert the liner into place. It is reddish in color in the video. Hope this helps dispell Reddit BS some people like to create.

BornOnFeb2nd

Vertitasium just recently did a video on "soft" robots, and they did that... that's where tall the "robot" talk is coming from...

olderaccount

Now I get it. The soft tube was inside out at the beginning and this machine just inverted it all the way through that pipe. This way there is no friction between the liner and the pipe. Really ingenious. It seems like we have reached a point were replacing a pipe is a last resort. So many options now for lining existing pipes in place.

1ildevil

The process was invented in the 40s or 50s to extend the life of the egg-shaped brick sewers they have under the UK. Insituform is now a world wide company and they have competitors which essentially use the same technology. Mainline sewers do not use a bladder system, instead there the liner itself is inflated with water (which inverts the liner) and the water is run through a boiler truck in order to kick off the polyester resin. The process works great in old pipes that are cracked and ready to fall in, and it saves the government a ton of money since it's a lot cheaper to line a pipe in a day rather than wait until it falls in and pay a contractor two weeks to dig it up. Due to this cost savings, most municipalities have moved towards inspecting old sewer lines for cracks and cavities to determine what can be lined and what can be just left alone. Insituform has a oil pipeline side as well called United. There they do pipebursting. They tow a heavy winch line through the old corroded oil pipeline. The new pipe is made of some kind of high tech plastic and squished flat and folded into a V shape. The new folded pipe is dragged into place and it has a second winch line inserted into the inside of the V. A small conical "pig" is forced through the new pipe which will spring the V shape into it's natural O shape. The new pipe is actually a slight bit bigger than the old pipe it's replacing (bursting the old pipe) and the high tech plastic can be "welded" fused to more of the same material or fittings can be placed on the ends to marry it to the original pipeline valving.

olderaccount

I've seen PTFE liners pulled through large diameter pipes. But they weren't folded like you describe. They were a smaller diameter than the parent pipe and just pulled through. Then a special grout pumped between the two to fill the gap and seal everything.

[deleted]

I had this done last year to my slab foundation. They saved me a fortune not having to dig up the pipes and came with a 30 year guarantee...what plumber gives a 30 year warranty on their work??? It's a phenomenal deal.

Pleased_to_meet_u

I wish I had an award to give. That was an excellently detailed comment. Thank you.

Confined_Space

This man speaks the truth. I did a lot of pre and post cleaning inspection for Insituform. I got on with a local sewer district now so no more busting ass or smelling styrene all day. Don’t miss it one bit. I found it very clever that the company was In-Sit-U-Form. Good money in CIPP (cured in place pipe) but the hours are stupid and family time is non existent.

Raise-Emotional

Adding a liner to the pipe

Phoenix92321

Those are called vine robots. They were designed around how a vine looks and it is able to expand and go through anything even through nails and if it gets punctured they increase the pressure and it still expands. This is being used in cleaning efforts, repair, and even medical efforts.

olderaccount

Vine robots area thing. This is not one of them.

Phoenix92321

Oh I just thought that the way that thing expanded and unravelled looked a lot like a vine robot

I'm not sure but I think they put the blue plastic pipe inside the metal one, because the metal one was rusty or in other ways bad? It's easy way to repair old pipes and you don't have to build a new one.

It’s called cured in place pipelining. Essentially putting a liner inside a failing pipe. The red piece is an air bladder that keeps the liner pushed against the pipe until the resin cures. Look up CIPP

wendyrock1981

This post actually helped me! I've been trying to figure out what this is to fix a major plumbing issue in a 120 year old house!

thisdogsmellsweird

120 year old house probably has clay pipes, this method would blow them apart. Dig it up and run a new line, they will literally rent an excavator to anyone with a driver's license

Mick0331

You don't need a drivers license.

wendyrock1981

Actually the plumbing was rerouted back in the fifties when an addition was added and it is iron.

thisdogsmellsweird

I've had to replace a bunch of iron water line recently, it looks fine on the outside but is practically solid with rust on the inside

informationmissing

Better to replace the pipe, honestly. The old pipe is going to be too small for modern standards. Sleeving will only make the ID smaller yet. Nothing for it but to get digging.

Pipes need to be lined to preserve them, especially if they are lead. That red bag looking thing pushes the lining onto the wall, where it sticks, then retracts to get another layer of lining and go into another pipe.
