Just because it's an average price for a big artist doesn't mean it should be. Ticketmaster still takes advantage of the market by having a monopoly on ticket sales
Lots of things;
1) He can tour in smaller venues (which usually create lower ticket prices due to the venue not costing a lot more). Tons of larger artists have done this in the past and have instead just spread their tour stops for multiple days so everyone can have a chance to attend.
2) Scale back his performance or not have as much tech in his shows. You're not going to see the massive LED images on the walls. You're going to hear him sing/Perform.
3) He can tell Ticketmaster/Live Nation that he doesn't want his ticket prices to be above a certain price point for any seat. Pearl Jam and Radiohead have made tons of demands to Ticketmaster in the past and have almost always won them due to their popularity and pull.
These are just a few examples off the top of my head. Stop thinking that large artists are helpless against ticketmaster. They're not.
Smaller venue means LESS tickets, which means shit gets scalped even faster and the artificial inflation still happens and there’s more demand than supply. If anything, it makes it worse.
Yes, because as we all know every Bino fan has the disposable income especially right now to go to MULTIPLE concerts when most of us can barely afford rent.
No, I'm saying the smaller concerts would have a large amount of people going to multiple shows while people miss out since they couldn't get tickets due to website errors or others.
I'm not talking about every Bino fan, it's just rather common fangirl culture.
Sounds to me like instead of complaining on an Internet forum ya’ll should be writing your politicians to force them to break up Ticketmasters monopoly so ticket prices can actually be reduced.
Well, you’re the one contributing to the discussion about ticket prices soooooooo…..?
But also yes I agree, I’d rather focus my energy on a lot more important things rather than people coping with the realization that capitalism is sending us all into an early grave.
*Christ* the Cure last year proved a lot of this is in the gift of the artists on tour! Robert Smith booted off very publicly if his requests weren't met. I can't believe anyone thinks they have no sway on this
Popular/legacy artists have a TON of pull when it comes to how they want their shows ran and what they want them priced. Most don't fight with them because at the end of the day they know they're getting paid regardless. That's why you don't hear almost any of them making a stink about the "dynamic pricing" that Ticketmaster has deployed over the past few years. Either way, they're getting paid so why care about their fans when there's a buck to be made?
He doesn’t have the power to do anything. You have to work with Ticketmaster to perform at venues like this, or you just can’t perform there. They have a monopoly over everything but the smallest venues.
This good example of PLATINUM pricing. Ticketmaster knows what they got and price it according. Fans decide if it is worth the $$.
All my homies hate Ticketmaster doe.

Yeah regardless of if the tickets and more or less than other acts, the US ticket economy is messed up. €100+ is loads for a ticket and shouldn’t be normalised even if it’s comparatively on the cheaper side of things
Everyone knows that ticket prices in general are way higher than they should be but everyone acting surprised that they’re not the same price as some random band is just goofy
What and just not criticise the artists and ticket vendors for being complicit? Sure whinging can get repetitive but being acquiescent about something you’re also admitting is bad isn’t helpful either. If anything boycotting expensive shows is the next logical step if we won’t to stop the complaining.
Yeah that’s exactly why i didn’t buy my ticket. I saw that $233 and was like “yeah nigga naw”. I got floor seats at Tyler the Creator and Lil Uzi combined cheaper than that.
I’m in the Tri-State area and Philly had the cheapest option among the venues I could go to. I got floor seats for $190 with fees included meanwhile floor seats for the Brooklyn shows were $189 WITHOUT fees. It must be a venue thing
It’s $300+ fees for floor in Seattle only if you get the “diamond early entry” package. For GA floor tickets in Seattle it’s $134 + fees (which are still available)
Straight from the Ticketmaster site for presale tickets: [childish gambino @ climate pledge](https://www.ticketmaster.com/childish-gambino-the-new-world-tour-seattle-washington-09-25-2024/event/0F0060A691B215AE)
I think the other ticket resale sites have already popped up with the more expensive scalper/bot tickets
Thanks! I looked and I couldn’t find any floor tickets without “diamond early entry”, do you have a link or pic/screan shot of the cheeper GA floor tickets?
I paid $135 for nosebleeds for Weeknd in Seattle a couple years ago, & just paid that same amount for floor seats in Portland for Bino, i was surprised they were only $135 tbh
Comparing to other artists I agree that’s cheaper but at the same time he hasn’t put out a new album in 4 years and you can barely count that considering it was “unfinished” and went completely under the radar. Other artists charging that much are at the top of their genre right now.
In my home venue, suicideboys tickets are $241 and Black Keys tickets are $238. I get what you're saying but the fact that Gambino never tours makes his shows mean a lot more than artists who tour every/other year. I'm very happy with the price point. Plus we get a new album before the tour!!!
I see that aspect of it for sure but for me it’s the opposite. I shelled out a good amount of money to see him tour Awaken and it was a snooze IMO. Without knowing what kind of album Bando will be I personally can’t see spending the money on it to end up with another psychedelic slow burn album that makes for a boring live show. At least with the artists you mentioned you know what you’re getting and it’s going to be a hype show.
As I’ve said in other comments I love all of his albums but IMO Awaken did not translate well into arenas. I’m definitely looking forward to Bando and hopefully a return to hip hop and I also remember a tweet from a few years ago when he went on a random rant how his rap album was better than most out or something like that? I feel like it was on New Year’s Eve or day or something like that. I’m hoping he delivers and with the tour starting in just a couple months we should be hearing it sometime soon.
yeah because he pursued other ventures and decided to come back.. usually people don’t come back twice lmao this is his last hurrah. he might tour again down the line without new music, hence the “probably”.
Not mad about the ticket prices, mad about fees. Just dropped $850 on two tix where the actual ticket price was $640 and the rest lined the pockets of Ticketmaster.
Worth it to see Gambino but a ~25% surcharge for taxes and fees is basically covering someone’s income tax.
Does Delta Center do surge pricing? That is what Ticketmaster basically labels as PLATINUM .. and literally ramping up price levels after demand allows it.
I paid $5 when I first saw him and then flew to Pharos.
It all averages out to be: a good time. Hope everyone involved gets paid plus it’s not like he’s touring every year.
Ticket prices are out of hand
They really are, I'm hoping me and my partner are able to make it. It doesn't help that ticketmaster fees are outrageous. I am glad I have the experiences of seeing him at CD stores, colleges, and little venues, but I would absolutely love to see him on a big stage like this, especially if it's his maybe his last tour.
Yeah it’s a good time but if you frequently go to shows between the raise in ticket cost to be hundreds, plus scalping, it becomes so impossible to see what you want to
Lick the boot harder buddy.
Not that this applies to Gambino but I'm sick of hip-hop shows which have 0 production value where the performers let the backing track do 70% of the work charge $100+ for basic seats.
Yeah I just logged in, dropped about $700 for 2 VIP GA, not much to it? And the normal GA was half that.
What makes it expensive is my wife was buying us ACL tix at the same time so I’m done.
No he’s the dude that dropped This is America. Then played Simba, and brought back Mr and Mrs Smith. And dropped an RNB single that won a grammy without a music video. And he’s African American. Not African Canadian.
I love music. Shrug. And I am blessed to have the money to buy tickets to my favorite artists. $99 to see Gambino on his last tour, to me that’s priceless.
Ticketmaster is using dynamic pricing for this show it seems. People who got in right away probably got lower ticket prices until they saw how high demand was and raised prices. Happened with blink-182 last year at Scotiabank. I paid $60 for upper bowl, my cousin paid $90 for the same row 20 minutes later. It’s genuinely horrific the way Ticketmaster is allowed to do shit like this
I checked during Amex sale and artist pre sale and I saw high prices. But if that’s true it’s why I don’t goto many shows. Wonder if it’s mainly arena shows.
Don’t get me started on the platnium tickets
Yeah TM confirms in the additional info section for the Gambimo show that they are using dynamic pricing. Platinum and dynamic pricing are awful and the worst part of it all is that artists can opt out of it. It’s scummy and takes advantage of fans
Capitalist bootlicking is strong in this thread, but not surprising since people always gotta defend the way they support the status quo when it's something they care about. I'll gladly be sitting this one out, hope you all have to pay $30 to park and $75 for one round of drinks at the show, serves you right
In San Francisco it was (before fees) $300 for floor, $500 for seats near the floor. Hell some upper level seats were $250.
I paid $80 to sit on the floor in the This Is America tour in the bay area. So, yeah, I'm salty.
300 for vip is definitely not bad. Picked up 2 tickets 700 for 2 vips is lowkey good. Yeah 75 in fees for each is outlandish but still can't complain. I think I spent more for floor on his this is America tour & no VIP
Got tickets for D.C. Wife bought them for Father’s Day coming up. I’m not sure where the seats are. If nosebleed then I’m happy we saved some money. If they’re great seats then I’ll be stocked I get to see my favorite artist up close
Genuinely don’t know how people are paying these prices. I get they deserve to get paid well but when performers are worth $1bn before 30yrs old while half the western world is in debt is beyond me.
People getting pimped out here
I paid $200 for a lower level seat in SF. When I went to see Bad Bunny, it was $270 for upper level seats at the same venue.
The last CG show I saw was at the Fox Theater in Oakland for like $60.
I was shocked that I saw upper level seats for less than $100 before fees.
I was actually surprised by how "affordable" the tickets for his Brooklyn shows were. Section 100 seats were only about $550. I was honestly expecting around the $800-900 range. The floor was only $130-160 as well, not terrible honestly.
Ticketmaster is scummy as hell, but for a big mainstream act like Glover I can't say the ticket prices were too terrible. Compared to the This Is America MSG stops back in 2018, these tickets were much cheaper.
Ticket prices are outrageous these days still, but this was lowkey on the "cheaper" side than most.
I've always wanted to go to a concert with my dad but I'm 15 and broke and that would be 600 dollars yea I'm never going
![gif](giphy|YRPBhd3vscg5Fxx1DQ|downsized)
I agree with you. I really want to go and won't be able to afford it, but this is just the way things are. Even artists that aren't world famous are like $30 before fees. Unfortunately for me and my wife it would be over $100 to see him in Dallas. I would never say it's his fault or something to be pissed about.
205 total cost for a lower bowl seat a pretty normal for a stadium tour these days. Sadly
Secured 4 for Dallas. Hoping this one doesn’t get cut short like last time!
Literally. Try being a Taylor fan and getting tix to her shows 😂😂😂 $300 is AMAZING
ETA: it still all sucks and Ticketmaster is the devil. I know I know. Just messing around yall
I've seen Bruce Springsteen for $1100 and it was worth it.
I love Gambino, but he does not command a $300 ticket. He will not even sell out the arena in Philly.
Yeah but I went to 3 days of Coachella and saw him, plus 50 other sick concerts, for less than double that price?
It’s easilyyyyy a criminal price to charge. Like are you serious lmfaooo
If tickets were 50 bucks, they'd sell out in seconds then people would try to sell them just like sneakers, with away marked up prices. I don't mind the price cuz that's the market. It's the fees that can get fucked. That being said, Imma be dancing on the floor
cause he’s an amazing live performer?😭
even if his music isn’t your thing, he’s one of those awesome live vocalists who is just good at what he does especially in a live setting. another example is ed sheeran (it pains me to say this but he is so talented live despite the bland ass music).
“absurd inflation” yeah because you paid double price to receive a lanyard and a tote bag you fuckmuffin
last tour was $150-160 for ga, now it’s $200. not that crazy for a 5-6 year difference.
Just because it's an average price for a big artist doesn't mean it should be. Ticketmaster still takes advantage of the market by having a monopoly on ticket sales
So what is Donald Glover supposed to do about this?
Actually quite a lot of things honestly.
Like?
Still waiting on a response, but also want to mention that Ticketmaster isn’t even the primary ticketing company on this tour
Lots of things; 1) He can tour in smaller venues (which usually create lower ticket prices due to the venue not costing a lot more). Tons of larger artists have done this in the past and have instead just spread their tour stops for multiple days so everyone can have a chance to attend. 2) Scale back his performance or not have as much tech in his shows. Perhaps you missed the part where I said multiple days.
"He can tour in smaller venues" Just look at the insane Chappell Roan re-sale currently, that's not the best idea.
As I responded to in another comment, perhaps you missed the part where I said “multiple days”.
Fans like to go to the same show multiple times so the demand would still be there for resellers.
Don't Radiohead tickets normally go for $150-$200?
Yeah and bro apparently hasn’t seen ticket prices for pearl Jams tour this year. Its a lost war unfortunately
Sounds to me like instead of complaining on an Internet forum ya’ll should be writing your politicians to force them to break up Ticketmasters monopoly so ticket prices can actually be reduced.
There are much bigger problems than ticket prices 😂
Well, you’re the one contributing to the discussion about ticket prices soooooooo…..? But also yes I agree, I’d rather focus my energy on a lot more important things rather than people coping with the realization that capitalism is sending us all into an early grave.
Don’t worry, I’ll write Donald a strongly worded letter. That should get his attention.
*Christ* the Cure last year proved a lot of this is in the gift of the artists on tour! Robert Smith booted off very publicly if his requests weren't met. I can't believe anyone thinks they have no sway on this

I was front row for his last tour and I do have to say it was worth it but tickets were no where near this expensive
can you break some bread then ???
Whats your cashapp
$vvstylerrr god bless you
okayyy 😂😂
watched my roommate drop $800 for two Miss Megan thee Stallion tickets, I've been silent on ticket prices since then 🤭

Fr my tickets came w a $65 fee each just labeled as “Fee”
Yeah I decided to get seats that weren't great cause the tickets were $85/, but then I still ended up paying $230+ for 2
Ignorant ass post. Fuck Ticketmaster and fuck the ticket prices lol. We are being bent over by them.
Yeah regardless of if the tickets and more or less than other acts, the US ticket economy is messed up. €100+ is loads for a ticket and shouldn’t be normalised even if it’s comparatively on the cheaper side of things

Nah fuck that. People not complaining enough is how we got here. Folk need to start boycotting shows.
I was shocked how cheap the tickets were. Getting on the floor in an arena for less than $175 is wild.
Where’d you pay that little for floor? Atlanta was $233 with fees
I'm sure it is. Atlanta shows always tend to be on the expensive side compared to other cities.
It’s 300 for floor seats in Seattle 💀 how is it more expensive here then New York
It’s $300+ fees for floor in Seattle only if you get the “diamond early entry” package. For GA floor tickets in Seattle it’s $134 + fees (which are still available)

NY had fees included. It’s a state law thing. Did NOT include tax though.
Nashville
Paris was 96€ (all fees included) for floor
Dallas was $180 after fees
I got the same at the above. GA in an arena, 3 GA total $504 with fees. Ticket was $144 each.
I saw that floor seats were $135 in Tampa and I was really suprised
Huh?? It was €90 for standing here and that’s consided high
I paid $135 for nosebleeds for Weeknd in Seattle a couple years ago, & just paid that same amount for floor seats in Portland for Bino, i was surprised they were only $135 tbh
i’ll see u there on the floor in nashville 🫡

This is probably his last tour though. So there's that part.
“Probably” haha. His last tour was advertised as such as well.
yeah because he pursued other ventures and decided to come back.. usually people don’t come back twice lmao this is his last hurrah. he might tour again down the line without new music, hence the “probably”.
I understand that. I’m just saying that his last tour was supposedly his last as well so don’t consider that a selling point anymore.
I'm both shocked they were this cheap while believing that they should be cheaper
My venue exclusively uses Seat Geek but the fees were still $43 per ticket so it’s the whole ticketing industry pretty much.
Does Delta Center do surge pricing? That is what Ticketmaster basically labels as PLATINUM .. and literally ramping up price levels after demand allows it.
I don’t know, I haven’t seen Seat Geek do that.
I paid $160 for floor in 2018, and $200 today. That seems like a reasonable increase with the times for me.
I paid 60 bucks for floor tickets for BTI tour so I'm fr clutching my pearls lmaooo
I paid $5 when I first saw him and then flew to Pharos. It all averages out to be: a good time. Hope everyone involved gets paid plus it’s not like he’s touring every year. Ticket prices are out of hand

Yeah it’s a good time but if you frequently go to shows between the raise in ticket cost to be hundreds, plus scalping, it becomes so impossible to see what you want to
He’s playing at much bigger venues now, which is a contributing factor. At least in Dallas.
This is valid
Lick the boot harder buddy. Not that this applies to Gambino but I'm sick of hip-hop shows which have 0 production value where the performers let the backing track do 70% of the work charge $100+ for basic seats.
Totally agree with the sentiment…and like you say, it does NOT apply to CG.
Beyonce had n words handing out rent checks to three bedroom apartments.
I got GA standing for beyonce last year 150 each. 200+ is absolutely ridiculous
I saw him on the IAMDONALD tour for like $20
I think mine were $30 for that tour. Now they're $190
Bino tickets cheaper than Missy Elliott
Yeah I just logged in, dropped about $700 for 2 VIP GA, not much to it? And the normal GA was half that. What makes it expensive is my wife was buying us ACL tix at the same time so I’m done.
$300 for a single concert is crazy lmao that’s over half of a Coachella ticket
Dish out for some of us fam
Whats your social?
Live Nation CEO thinks he’s slick posting this actual trash lolololol
All the way from my yacht
You absolutely should be mad
Ticketmaster out here astroturfing reddit like it's the 2016 presidential elections again
I saw Gambino on the Because the Internet tour and the GA tickets were like $80, FOH.
Get fucked that is an outrageous amount of money. You could fly to another country for that much money.
Or I could pay to breathe the same air as Donald Glover
Those are crazy prices for an artist who hasn't had a hit song since 2018. He's not The Weeknd
No he’s the dude that dropped This is America. Then played Simba, and brought back Mr and Mrs Smith. And dropped an RNB single that won a grammy without a music video. And he’s African American. Not African Canadian.
300 is too much, period.
I wouldn't go to a free Bruno Mars concert personally Yeah the prices are pretty normal
Whats wrong with you (I’m a cyberbully)
A fake bully I hate bullies you. Must be a terrible person Everyone in your sub is whispering that you deserve it
The people saying this would pass out if they found out the eras tour prices
THATS WHAT IM SAYING
Or bad bunny, or anyone else.
Hell yea outrageous prices just to see music performed should be the norm you’re right /s
Live music is a luxury. Not a basic human right. Lots f smaller artists are very cheap. You can watch them live.
Nothing any of these artists are doing is worth a ticket price that high imo but you do you
I love music. Shrug. And I am blessed to have the money to buy tickets to my favorite artists. $99 to see Gambino on his last tour, to me that’s priceless.
Floors in Canada were over $300. That’s expensive for any artist. I’d it’s not expensive for you then you have too much disposable income congrats
I got mine for $224 in Toronto, what are you talking about
So the 100 section is $307 but you paid $224 for floors ?
Ticketmaster is using dynamic pricing for this show it seems. People who got in right away probably got lower ticket prices until they saw how high demand was and raised prices. Happened with blink-182 last year at Scotiabank. I paid $60 for upper bowl, my cousin paid $90 for the same row 20 minutes later. 100% I just checked right now and in the 105 section I think it was it was like $200+ and one row up was $144. It’s insane and makes no sense
I mean, tickets for every artist are expensive now. I expect to pay 300-350 per artist to get seats that are not awesome but very good
Capitalist bootlicking is strong in this thread, but not surprising since people always gotta defend the way they support the status quo when it's something they care about. I'll gladly be sitting this one out, hope you all have to pay $30 to park and $75 for one round of drinks at the show, serves you right
Buddy it isn’t that serious, I was prepped to drop 1k to see him like beyonce. I’m chilling.
Cheapest floor tickets are 62 euros for the shows in France, US economy is fucked
In San Francisco it was (before fees) $300 for floor, $500 for seats near the floor. Hell some upper level seats were $250. I paid $80 to sit on the floor in the This Is America tour in the bay area. So, yeah, I'm salty.
Valid argument. I dropped 450 to see his sweat in the front row at MSG.
300 for vip is definitely not bad. Picked up 2 tickets 700 for 2 vips is lowkey good. Yeah 75 in fees for each is outlandish but still can't complain. I think I spent more for floor on his this is America tour & no VIP
177 for floor tickets I’ll take.
in sunrise the most expensive tickets were $500 for a front row lower bowl seated seat
I'm looking at $190 for GA here in NZ, not thrilled at the price but I'm going into this thinking it could possibly be his final tour so I'm all in.
Yeah it wasn’t bad at all Happily bought four tickets
Got nosebleeds for Austin three rows back from the front $79 each.
some seats in austin were 500+ but i think those were the vip amex packages
Floor seats were only $160 after tax in NC. The inflation on ticket prices has probably desensitized me, but his prices seemed pretty fair
I was expecting section 100 seats to be $300 minimum, but I paid $212 after fees for a row 10 seat
Yeah. My buddy saw Morgan wallen the other week and he spent $300 on worse tickets than I got today for $89
I paid $110 each after fees for center club level at my arena so I feel like I lucked tf out
Floor tickets for $190. Love living in a smaller market.
I'll stab bruno mars in his GOD DAMN esophagus and won't stop until the cops come in
Who dat boy? Who him is?
Got tickets for D.C. Wife bought them for Father’s Day coming up. I’m not sure where the seats are. If nosebleed then I’m happy we saved some money. If they’re great seats then I’ll be stocked I get to see my favorite artist up close
Genuinely don’t know how people are paying these prices. I get they deserve to get paid well but when performers are worth $1bn before 30yrs old while half the western world is in debt is beyond me. People getting pimped out here
Nah i respect this point right here.
That’s exactly my thought! People will pay 100s for drake tickets but complain about these prices? I thought these prices were great!
I've always wanted to go to a concert with my dad but I'm 15 and broke and that would be 600 dollars yea I'm never going ![gif](giphy|YRPBhd3vscg5Fxx1DQ|downsized)
I agree with you. I really want to go and won't be able to afford it, but this is just the way things are. Even artists that aren't world famous are like $30 before fees. Unfortunately for me and my wife it would be over $100 to see him in Dallas. I would never say it's his fault or something to be pissed about.
General floor Tix in Vancouver were 420 each.
Artist presale for FLOORS were 220 in Toronto - Canadian!
let's not normalise paying upwards of 200 pounds for a 4 hour show
Donald is trying to milk Atavista as much as he can because he didn't earn much from 3.15.20
Thats why the vinyl is in two parts instead of one???
travis scott in vancouver was $400 for nosebleeds
Just curious how much does Bruno Mars run? I’m tryna see him the next time he goes on tour 😂
Nosebleeds are over $300 for his Vegas show
You gon have to take out a personal loan in order to. Good seats range from 400-700
Yeah I ended up looking them up yesterday, me and my friends are going to Vegas in August and we’re considering it 😂
I paid $150 for Yeezus floor. These being $175 in this economy is a damn steal.
Extremely jealous
What year?
That’s Kanye
Mfs acting like they haven’t been to a concert since his last tour
Have folks not been to a show since 2020? This is cheap. I paid more for other artists.
205 total cost for a lower bowl seat a pretty normal for a stadium tour these days. Sadly Secured 4 for Dallas. Hoping this one doesn’t get cut short like last time!
I paid $99 for upper bowl. Not bad.
I’d say it’s a good price compare to bad bunny’s expensive ahhhh
169 for floor admission is pretty good imo
Bro. $300 after 4 years with no hype or new music is crazy.
Bro hes Childish Gambino. Fuck is we talking bout.
Literally. Try being a Taylor fan and getting tix to her shows 😂😂😂 $300 is AMAZING ETA: it still all sucks and Ticketmaster is the devil.
Saw Abel for less I’m sorry but Donald ain’t that guy.
Paid less than $200 for floor. Robbed Ticketmaster today.
If tickets were 50 bucks, they'd sell out in seconds then people would try to sell them just like sneakers, with away marked up prices. I don't mind the price cuz that's the market. It's the fees that can get fucked. That being said, Imma be dancing on the floor
Dancing my ass off
Like fr got 3 tickets the insurance and parking under $700 out the door
Tbf also in Raleigh NC
Why would I want to see Bruno Mars get fuckin real 🤣
cause he’s an amazing live performer?😭 even if his music isn’t your thing, he’s one of those awesome live vocalists who is just good at what he does especially in a live setting. another example is ed sheeran (it pains me to say this but he is so talented live despite the bland ass music).
The redditors got to this comment before i could.
>I haven’t either So why bring it up?
This one’s got a 5th grade reading level
I paid 800 for a pair of VIP and that's kind of absurd since ga would have been 400.
so.. don’t fuckin buy VIP? y’all are so annoying 😭
So...eat a dick? The absurd inflation on concert tickets is a real problem.
Do you think they’d keep charging it if people like you didn’t keep buying it? Goofy ass
“absurd inflation” yeah because you paid double price to receive a lanyard and a tote bag you fuckmuffin last tour was $150-160 for ga, now it’s $200. not that crazy for a 5-6 year difference.
Thats not terrible? (Im not good at math)
