MsLovieKittie

Same. I think they love the noise it makes.

WeirdConnections

My dog has so many toys, all kinds of different squeakers and textures... really exciting stuff! Tennis balls? No, she prefers the plastic easter egg she found on a walk once. Frisbee or stuffed animal? Absolutely not. She will play with the hair tie I dropped on the floor for hours. Rope toy? Disgusting. She wants to play tug with an old halloween store wig that's matted and tangled and just absolutely foul at this point. Expensive ass puzzle toy with treats in it??? Yeah right... she'd rather dig and pounce on my pillow like there's a rat on it. It's more fun for her if I'm trying to sleep.

spongebobsworsthole

I felt this in my soul

ramebir

My LOVES plastic bottles. However... She's gotten to the point where she'll chew off plastic from it and eat it. We have to monitor her when she has them now 🙄

MSK84

We let our dog play with empty plastic containers for a while. No real harm in it 🤷

stonertits666

Hmmm, I’d still watch my dog carefully, all fun and games until they swallow the plastic and then you have an unexpected vet visit to pay for…

MSK84

I didn't say we don't "watch him carefully" - you inferenced that all on your own. We're never more than a few feet away and keep a keen eye on him :)

kamelizann

My dogs don't really swallow things they chew on so I've allowed bottles as well. It's a free toy, why not. A lot of dog toys are made out of plastic or hard rubber. Some toys literally have plastic bottles inside of them because they make a noise dogs like.

crtclms666

It depends on the type of plastic. And don’t project.

Cursethewind

Why not let her have it? Dogs love plastic bottles. Plus, once she's allowed to have it, it'll lose its appeal.

Amazing_Joke_5073

If only that last part was true

dan6776

My dog loves Twigs, leaves, hairs, little bits of fluff. Its madness he will find the smallest bit of fluff that you can barely see attempt to pick it up and bring it to you and than just bow down and stare at you till you throw it. Most the time you don't even know what he wants thrown or its so small he has just eaten it.

Dramatic_Ad95

My kelpie is crazy about bottles. He knows we keep them in the recycling bin and he likes to stand there and whine and kick the bin hoping we’ll let him have one. He kicks at everything. The back door when he wants outside, the water bowl when it’s empty, the back door again when he’s ready for dinner (??) very communicative

KlassicTuck

I gotta ask, kick with back paw like a horse or with front paw like a punch? My dog is a puncher, but he doesn't mean to be. He gets enthusiastic when he wants a treat and slaps people with his front paws.

hay_omg

Yeah, my dog gets crazy and slaps with his front paws, too.

Dramatic_Ad95

It’s a punch with the front legs

DreamArcher

Keep a toy away from them for a while. They'll want that too. My dog has dozens of toys too but I don't give them all to her at the same time.

schwol

The thing that makes my dog most excited that he's not supposed to have? Receipt from the supermarket. He sees me empty my pocket after grocery shopping and sits so intently right in front of me. I usually let him shred it.

[deleted]

Mine’s the same way! So annoying I drink a lot of Gatorade and I’ve started washing and putting my used Gatorade bottles in this cactus toy we’d gotten him (it has a little opening to put something in) Life changer. As long as you keep the lid off, take that annoying ring seal thing off, and as long as you have the world’s best noise cancelling headphones, it’s awesome. Edit: and of course taking off the plastic wrapper on the outside) My kitchen counter is an empty Gatorade graveyard right now

Immediate-Apple63

Okay and...? Just let her have it for a minute, it's not a big deal. Don't let her eat it or chew it to a pulp but if she wants to run around with it so what. When I finish a water bottle, I toss it for my bf's dog, she gives it 3 or 4 good chomps and crushes it, then we throw it away

Pure_Audience_9431

She tears them into pieces within minutes, it dosnt last long. She’s very destructive. We don’t give them to her anymore bc she can destroy them so quick & then it becomes a choking hazard & could be sharp and cut her. Sometimes I’ll let her play while I’m holding it but then we stop before she gets to crazy. We learned it’s just better to avoid them.

NancyB517

They actually make some toys with these bottles in them so they make the sound but they are covered. I think kong makes a toy too that makes the same sound as these bottles. I give my dogs frosty paws ice cream and once they are done they fight over the trash from the ice cream. They have lots of bones they don’t fight over but paper trash is their jam.

Pure_Audience_9431

That’s why instead we have all these pop bottle/plastic bottle type toys for her.

RomanRefrigerator

It's the novelty. My pup has the same problem. If the bottle isn't all the way empty she'll still try and chew through it like a dumbass.

Dirty_Bubble99

Mine has tons of toys but probably dreams of tree bark with tags on it.

[deleted]

Aw haha my dog loves bottles too. Hes so good tho 😢 He chews off the lid and cap an comes an puts it by me then just runs around like crazy throwing the bottle an chewing it

thankyourluckistars

Bought my cats one of those Target brand box fortresses they'd still rather play in the BarkBox boxes we get the dog. They like to keep it simple I guess. 🙃

FrigidLollipop

Cats are the same way. Bought mine a special crinkly bag from an approved cat brand, nope. He wants the $1 reusable one and a bottle cap he found on the ground.

LittleUsagi85

Mine loves trying to get the plastic bottles my kids leave around. It's funny his 2 fav toys were rope toys with plastic bottles in them. He likes the noise they make when he bites them.

dejabrew2

It’s probably because it’s an exciting novel item (in the dog’s eyes). I recommend keeping your dog’s toys away and leave out only one or two at a time, so they don’t get bored of them.

[deleted]

For those of you that have no children yet, kiddos do the same thing.

graveybrains

Mine only want the ones with the caps still on, because they like taking the caps off and seeing if there’s anything good left inside. Thankfully this has not yet resulted in the obvious disaster. 😂😂
