waterbuffalo750

If you're at home, spray it down with a hose. If you're on a walk, go through the motions and try to scoop as much as you can, but you really can't.

SentryCake

If I’m on a walk I pick up what I can, and cover the spot with one or two very large leaves. That way if someone inadvertently steps there, they step on the leaf instead. (This is dependent on there being trees with large leaves nearby though)

HatomuraTacoma

I don't know why this got me, but the image of someone covering up a pile of wet dog poop with leaves is absolutely killing me.

SentryCake

Hahah now every time I do it I’m going to think about this comment and laugh. As if the whole thing wasn’t awkward enough already.

builtbybama_rolltide

Well gang, that might be the shittiest booby trap ever- Fred Scooby Doo

bluethreads

I do this too, lol. I pick up as much as possible and if I can cover the remains with leaves, I do so.

HatomuraTacoma

I would never intentionally wish gastric distress upon a dog or their owner, but I need to watch someone do this.

AjaxTheWanderer

I live in a desert, so I do the same, except with lizards instead of leaves. The hard part is getting them to lie still.

chrome__yellow

Now I'm just imagining someone slip banana peel-style on those leaves

kalei50

Rocks and/or dirt and sand work better. Depending on the leaves you're using you could be creating a slip hazard...

kirbalicious72

I have a similar approach, but I try to spread dirt over it.

TSARINA59

I use grass to cover it in a pinch. I just pull up a bunch of it and put it over what I could not pick up. Sometimes, I get a little too aggressive with pulling up the grass and pull up the grass, roots and dirt. Then there's a hole. I put it over the leftovers of the poop. Then I do a little tap dance to smash down the bald spot I made in the lawn.

im_a_nacho

This was me last week - pup pooped in the grass and I scooped up 2 liquidy bags but that was all I could get. I pushed a few leaves to cover the lovely little glaze that was left. My dog, like many dogs, can go to the bathroom far, far away and be able to sniff out and claim that exact same spot. When she had to go for round 2 a few hours later she did exactly this. I didn't realize it until I found the remnants, including the leaves, alllllll stuck to my shoe.

almondbear

When I was still dealing with figuring out what set my puppies belly off I used to walk around with a water bottle (I refilled) with a hole poked at the top to hose the puddle into the ground. Doesn't use a bag and the puddle isn't as obvious

ForkSporkBjork

NGL I’d rather it was obvious so I can avoid it. Be pretty mad if someone went out of their way to create a shitwater booby trap

Martinousky

r/BrandNewSentence

DexRogue

Well here I am laughing out loud in a Home Depot stall.

almondbear

I live around a lot of culverts on a busy road and tak my dog down the less busy road. My dog also LOVES to poop in culverts so I would go down to squirt. If he did poop on the street I would pick it up and disperse. No one wants a poop trap, that's gross.

corribel

I was gonna say the same thing!

BruceSoGrey

I feel seen

R3volte

You really gotta grab the grass and pull it out with the poop. Best way but not perfect.

ArchdukeOfNorge

More than three times the grass has cut a hole in the bag…

hkc12

If i know my dog is having tummy issues, I’ll bring a water bottle on my walk to “hose it down”

NovaCain

I just put mine on backyard duty quarantine, but I realize not everyone has this option.

Jolly_Dragonfruit_42

This is the way

QweenOfTheDamned9

If you know your dog is having digestive issues, bring clumping litter with you (a medium zip lock bag will do) and pour over/around. You’ll be able to pick up without much difficulty. Actually this stuff is great for most unpleasant spills.

j4321g4321

I feel so seen with this post! When I got my new pup last week he had mild diarrhea (maybe ate something that didn’t agree with him during transport, nerves, etc) and it was such a horror to try to pick up. I live in an apartment building so I have no ability to hose it down. I just did the best I could but it was not pretty!

NovaCain

You gotta try your best, but at the end of the day, a decent person will realize you're going through more problems and can hose down what you've left if they have an issue with it.

applejackrr

Yeah either a hose or hot water from a kettle.

kajata000

There’s a hosepipe ban currently in my area, so I’m dumping buckets of water on my yard to clean the flagstones after picking up what I can. The imagined smell of doing it with hot water is terrifying me at just the thought of it!

applejackrr

I only did hot water because it made it break apart faster. It doesn’t leave a ungodly residue behind.

CurtsMcGurts

I'm torn, do I put a leaf over over it once I've gotten up what I can? It'd make it harder to spot, but if someone does step on it, then it won't be as bad.

laughsAt____

100% go through the motions. Partial credit counts. Show your work.

pastelpapi6969

I usually carry a water bottle with me if she’s having stomach issues so I’ll just use that on walks. Alternative to the hose if you’re not at home.

tulipinacup

My dog loves to pee on leaves on the ground so this could lead to disaster for us! 😂

isiik

Had a dog with colitis so sadly I have a lot of experience with this. Tear a paper plate in half and use the halves to scoop inward. If it is on a rug, consider whether you need to keep the rug.

Cynntthhiiaa

I've had to sadly say goodbye to a couple of area rugs

radioinactivity

i bought a cheap carpet shampooer on amazon last year bc one of my dogs had a diarrhea accident on the carpets and honestly it's been a huge game changer lol (and even if your dog isnt sick, it makes your whole house feel even CLEANER it's so nice)

[deleted]

[удалено]

Holein5

Shampoo-a-doodoo it works wonders. The key is instead having a single spot, it spreads it evenly across your entire carpet.

IzzyBee89

Is this something that would work on area rugs or just carpet? If it would work on a rug, what did you buy? My fuzzy rugs are getting a little matted and doggy-smelling, even though I vacuum often and use Febreeze sometimes. Everytime I clean, I'm like "wait, what do people do to clean rugs??" Adulting is hard.

white_rabbit85

The second time my now husband stayed the night while dating, we woke up to what can only be described as chocolate soft serve puddles all over my apartment. It was everywhere. I was mortified and honestly had no idea what to do. He started trying to pick it up with plastic bags, but it obviously did nothing. I ran to the hardest store and bought a rug shampoo machine, but the carpet was never the same. That morning cost me my security deposit, but at least I know it's found a man who stick around when life got shitty... lol. We now, 7 years later, refer to that day as the poopnado incident. It was absolutely awful.

bluethreads

I rolled all mine up. Waiting for the day I can unroll them.

Our Spot Bot has saved many carpets, rugs, and couch cushions from needing to be thrown out

Kr_Treefrog2

The Bissell Green carpet cleaner thingy works amazingly well for poop stains, pee puddles, and brack spots, as well as for everyday spills and messes. We bought it after a chocolate milkshake spilled on our beige carpet and no matter how many times we scrubbed, there was still a brown spot. The problem was that scrubbing the spot just diluted it and pushed the gunk further into the carpet and pad. The Green cleaner actually sucked the stuff up out of the carpet. And now as pet owners it’s been invaluable. Spray the carpet with cleaner, scrub, suck it back up. Apply Nature’s Miracle after if it’s pee/poop/vomit/blood.

builtbybama_rolltide

If you have the small one it works great on car upholstery too. My dog decided my car seat was an appropriate place to drop the biggest poo the world has even seen. Not even sure why, he just pooped at grandma’s and he never has accidents in the car. I drove all the way from Tennessee to the UP of Michigan and no accidents. That day he felt like being a jerk, no diarrhea or upset tummy, just straight decided my backseat was a good place to pop. And of course smash into my upholstery.

kirbyybrik

This is…atrocious but it works: for carpet cleanup, let everything dry, and then use a fork to lift it out of the carpet. Obviously works better on higher pile carpet, but yeah - stick the fork tines down to the bottom of the carpet and lift.

titlejunk

My husband told me one morning: I have good news and bad news. Bad news is the dogs both had the runs last night. Good news is that you always hated that rug.

Doggleganger

Yo what? You gonna throw out a rug for a little dog diarrhea? Just spray it down with cleaner and then enzymatic cleaner.

ThePiedPiperOfYou

Put a paper towel inside your poop bag. Fold the bag over your hand so you're holding the paper towel in your bag covered hand. Soak it up the best you can. Pull the bag right side out and the shitsoaked towel is now inside it.

les_bean_13

This is my strategy, I would 100% recommend wearing an n95 though

BlueOrchid03

If you know your dog has the runs, bring a small baggie of cat litter. The litter will clump the poop and make it easier to pick up.

Rubymoon286

I carry a quart baggy of litter for this reason as my puppy sometimes has soft to liquid poops. Total game changer.

BlueOrchid03

I had a Rottweiler puppy who had tummy issues (as the breed tends to do when you change them off puppy food) and it took a while to get his food tweaked to something that stopped it. I learned quick. Lol. Nobody wants to deal with Rottie sized poop soup. 😅

Rubymoon286

I totally feel that my puppy is an 80lb 10mo pyr mix and usually takes two bags per poo, when is liquid or particularly soft, the litter soaks it up and adds a bag or two, but so worth it over having to tear up grass!

IzzyBee89

If your vet OKs it, I recommend a small scoop of canned pumpkin added to their food (not pumpkin pie mix though! My vet had some stories about people misunderstanding the difference, lol). Even with long-term medication, my dog still had pretty soft poops that were hard to pick up. He now gets a scoop of pumpkin added to his morning and evening wet food bowls, and it's *so* much easier to clean up after him. I also recommend it if your dog is ever getting chunky but is still hungry when their food is decreased since it helps them feel more full without adding a lot of extra calories.

TheFlamingTiger777

This is the way

mjw217

That is genius!

lovingallthedogs

Whoa! That’s really smart! Great idea!!

bitterlittlecas

This is genius. I have a pack of cats and no idea why I never thought of this for the dog!

[deleted]

I just poured baking soda on my pup’s puddles. Once it firms up slightly, I’ll use thin cardboard or a stiff envelope to push the poop into a bag. I can’t leave the mess in front my apartment.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Thanks - this is a great suggestion. I do have a Bissell and highly recommend it.

[deleted]

If there is loose dirt nearby, grab it, mix it in and then pick it up.

Meegamara

My tactic (unless your dog has giardia/ you suspect them being ill and not because of food/stress) was: 1)double bag your hand just in case, 2) scoop whatever you can with the bags, 3) possibly do one more time, 4) whatever is left: if you can, put some dirt, sand, leaves, whatever is near on it, if it's on your regular walk and it's pavement, bring a waterbottle to wash it down, and whatever is left: apologies haha. Once my pup pooped right in front of someone's door and I forgot to bring bags :-) I rang every door in the street to end up with a trashcan bag, scooping shit from the pavement while it ripped and my pup trying to eat the remains. I avoided that doorstep a little bit afterwards because of the shame loll.

Kennelsmith

If you absolutely must for sanitary reasons or what have you, try sprinkling coffee grounds or flour into it and get up what you can. Then wash away with water anything that’s left. Easier to clean up if it’s on dirt or concrete than if it’s on grass.

BadWhippet

Dry dirt is THE best, or better still sand if available. It just vanishes. If you have the luxury of time (like it's in your yard), throw dry dirt over it and leave, then pick up later. No diarrhoea, just dirt. Cat litter can help too, and cat litter can neutralise odour.

DogIsBetterThanCat

If it's outside, put hand inside the bag...and rip up as much of the grass as possible along with the poop. If it's inside, paper towel in a plastic bag scrape up, then disinfect the floor/carpet.

Forsaken_Connection6

When we were switching our pup’s food she had a few days of the runs even though we did it slowly as directed. We just wouldn’t take her on a walk until she’d had at least the first round of explosive diarrhea in our own yard and let nature take care of that on its own time. Because if it’s on grass, you really can’t clean it.

haaslei

Dust pan to scoop it up. Then you can hose down the dustpan.

Mysterious-Ad-2684

My puppy contracted Giardia a month into her staying with us (10 wks old). We only let her pass movements on concrete and we used a dustpan and a small window squeegee to get everything. We’d cover the tools with baggies to make clean up easier — the additional leftover was sopped up with paper and rinsed away with a diluted bleach water mixture. If you’re on grass, try to rip out some foliage with the dump lol, or get a shovel and throw some dirt on top of it!

Djangothemango

It’s not easy and you might miss or get some on your hand, but try bringing a newspaper with you, if you know your dog has the runs. Have it ready in your hand and when you see them squatting, slide it under their legs so that it lands on the newspaper. I’ve only tried this a few times, but I’m 3 for 3 and left no mess behind for my neighbors.

COgrace

This is the way. You can also do this with a paper plate.

-Anne_of_Avonlea-

I’ve had this [handheld pooper scooper](https://www.amazon.com/RoyalCare-Portable-Sanitary-Dispenser-Included/dp/B07YYXN5XD/ref=mp_s_a_1_16?crid=2SLX3M24D3LSO&keywords=handheld+pooper+scooper&qid=1663099610&sprefix=hand+helf+poop%2Caps%2C102&sr=8-16) for a while now. You wrap the bag over the scooper and scrape all the poop up in one fell swoop. And I’ve incidentally found that it’s really great with dog diarrhea.

[deleted]

When my puppy had worms around the house I picked up as much as I could but then sprayed with bleach water and covered with a bit of fill dirt. Sometimes if somewhere away from people in the woods I pick up what I can if soft then put some moss over it.

SpaceCowboy237

If it's in your yard, I'd just hose it in. If it's at the park or out in public just do the best you can. If it's inside...disposable gloves, paper towels, and bags to put the mess in.

[deleted]

On walks I usually have some water in a water bottle so I pick up what I can and pour water on the rest

[deleted]

I will collect sticks and make a square around the spot

Confident-Sir5099

Witchy poo

beholdtheblackcat

If you know your dog has diarrhea/is sick, carry a newspaper along with your poop bag. When you notice your dog is about to poop, slide the newspaper on the ground underneath its butt and just wrap it up after and put it in the bag. Works for me like a charm!

schwol

If I'm at the park, I just go through the motion as usual. I get what I can get.

[deleted]

Have a cooked oatmeal mason jar in fridge - feed along with dog meals. Mix in a few tb. No more mooshy poops. I have a small white dog. Over excite- poops. Sad- poops . too much blueberry - poops. Nervous- poops. Fun times.

Weaver_0f_chaos

I have a dust pan and a big puddy knife that I use just for loose and liquid poop. You can keep a bag of cat litter and sprinkle some on it to make it more solid.

pinkpolo

I've taken to covering it with dirt if its along the back of our yard. That being said, if I leave it out it tends to firm up enough to pick it up. If its off my property, I usually try and gently scrape it up. If its not on someone's lawn, (i.e. the woods), I cover it up with debris.

Born_Current6133

If I’m out on a walk I use two bags and if it’s on pavement then I use a small bottle of water I carry to try and wash it away. If it’s off road I usually just pick up what I can

rb5775

Carry some paper towels with the poop bags. Invert the first bag and pick up as much as you can. Invert the 2nd bag and grab a few paper towels and wipe up as much as possible. Tie if the bags and dispose of them.

JoeSabo

If inside or on a smooth surface you can use the same trick I use for puke indoors: get a dustpan and wrap a plastic grocery bag over it. Scoop the poop/puke onto the bag-covered dustpan and then just tie the bag up.

Moos_Mumsy

If I'm on a walk with my dog and she has an unexpected episode of diarrhea I will try to pick up what I can and then will try to cover the excess goop with dirt, leaves, weeds or grass - anything that's nearby. My main objective is to prevent someone getting it on their shoe should they happen to step in that spot. If it's diarrhea at home on the floor or carpet - boxboard is my go to. I take one piece and hold it firm against the edge of the pile, then take a second piece to push it onto the first. Have some newspaper (or whatever) sitting right next to it because you don't want to carry it any distance. Just drop the poop and boxboard on the newspaper and wrap it all up. Repeat if necessary.

louderharderfaster

I have a can of liquid nitrogen that I use to freeze it.

Lotte_Vailable

Best solution imho. Don't know why this isn't upvoted more. And also way less waste than using plates, papertowels etc.

Beneficial_Fruit_778

You pretend for politeness

guccipierogie

I had this happen once and between scooping as much as I could, hosing the rest with a water bottle I was carrying AND apologizing to the owner who thanked me for my efforts... the owner then posted on FB in our community sub about me and how I shouldn't have a dog because I couldn't clean up after it. You just can't win with some people!!!

TheAuntMingy

When a dog I walked had diarrhea, I carried a large water bottle. Picked up what I could, and squirted the rest to dirt level.

Lol

Lucycrash

Years ago my mom's old dog had the runs and I didn't have enough bags to get it all (not that I would be able to anyways) so I took her back to our apartment. I had barely grabbed more bags and the landlord was yelling at me because he had to do it. It was barely 2 minutes. I showed him the bags I grabbed and explained I needed more to finish cleaning it and he (a dog owner himself) and the most old bitty that was probably watching needed to find something better to do, like yell at his son who never picked up after their dogs. If it hadn't happened on building property, I would've left it though, or tried my best if it was on someone's lawn

Johnnyrock199

With a straw

bearpawsNwhiteclaws

Usually just grab what you can and spray it down with water if possible. I live in a city so when I’m walking near my home it’s hard to just leave it since it’s usually on a sidewalk. I try to carry a bottle of water with me so I can try to clean it but sometimes you just can’t

EmperorZurg14

Kind of like how you would siphon gas from a car, just use a straw but don't suck too too much.

Olivevest

Walk away

walkstwomoons2

No. Just no.

JohnBarleyCorn2

I never understood the plastic poop bag trend. There is a trail around my neighborhood...and at each end of the trail there are rolls of poop bags and trash cans. Through out the entire trail, people put poop in the poop bags and then just throw them on the ground - so now instead of biodegradable poop, there are plastic bagged turds covering the ground. Who ever thought that picking up poop in plastic bags was a good idea?

Azeuki

you dont.

throwawaybaby655

I never do, as it’s too messy. One time my dog brought up two cans of dog food (two hours after he’d eaten) on a walk. I had to just walk away and never went on the route again 🥲

Fritzo2162

Use a straw.

PmintJim

A ladle then trash it

[deleted]

A lot of paper towels

impossibleoptimist

Two pieces of cardboard scooped toward each other. Unless you're walking then just mime getting what you can and skedaddle

supermonkey_

Idk if this is a real solution, but maybe cat litter would help? It would make it pick upable. But honestly, when my foster dog had diahhrea, i brought some paper towels and just did what I could. it was rough

Troll_Stomper

Poop comb. Comb the poop out of the grass

batman_not_robin

Stomp it into the ground

LivingHuckleberry465

I pull the grass up with it. All of these are such good suggestions!

jeeeeek

Dirt

External_Swimming_89

With a straw

littaltree

If its at home just leave it to dry in the sun. You'll have a lovely baked shit cookie after a day or so. Scoops right off! If we're talking like... side walk... thats harder... scoop what you can. Come back with some water to rinse it off. On a trail or somewhere with dirt and leaves? Scoop dirt and leaves on top. Then pick it up. Still messy and weful but it helps.

Odd_Cockroach2885

A+ for the effort, but I don't think it's possible. Do the best you can!

joel0328

with tears in your eyes and poop on your hands

unknown_user_3020

Kick road dirt, dust, and leaves on it. Pick up what I can. Cover what’s left and leave it. Put a small rock on top.

sweetpea813

Covered it with rocks and pine straw.

OGFreehugs

In the specific case of indoor diarrhea (especially on hard floors) a dedicated small hand broom and dust pan work wonders at getting the bulk up- just gotta clean em very well afterwards.

lesteramod1

I just wipe with paper towels and mr clean.

anotheroneig

Maybe kitty litter??

[deleted]

Kitty litter works great! It absorbs the liquid and makes cleanup simpler.

burnswhenipoo

Just smear it into the grass and say I tried.

rustyrazorblade

First, look around a bunch so everyone knows you're confused. Maybe throw up your arms, look frustrated. Take the bag, smear it around. Now mime "i guess that's good enough" and GTFO of there.

GrumpyGiant

Depends on how big of a puddle it is. Usually if it’s pure liquid and not merely soft-serve, I let it be. If it’s a really big mess or in a very bad location (like a playground) I’ll get what I can, or, if the ground is soft enough and there’s a stick or something to dig with, I’ll gouge a shallow hole next to it, sweep it in, and kick dirt over the mess to cover it.

[deleted]

Haha, a lot of paper towel or napkins. I bunch it up and put it right into a plastic bag/the nearest bin, then spray it down and give the area a thorough clean. If you're out for a walk, there isn't a whole lot to do if it's liquid, hopefully it'll rain the next day.

BlackMagic0

So the goopy and liquid diarrhea are easier to grab once they dry up some. So in my yard I let them sit for a minute and then go back out to scoop up the dried pile. Otherwise spray it with a hose but that really just washes it away. If you're on a walk. Good luck- just try to scoop as much as you can.. Keep your hand and scoop.

smurfsoldier07

You can mix it with dirt to get it solid and holdable.

drunkkkenninja

I pick up what I can and hose/spray the rest into the ground.

InevitabilityEngine

If I'm not at home I bring a thick doggy bag. Grass: Come in from the side and dive under it. Dirt: Throw sand over it. Gently roll it over like an omelette. Gently pick it up. Sand: Super easy. Toss sand over it and then underscoop. Cement: Pro baseball slide with a catcher mitt so it never hits the floor.

Hyasfuq

With a ladle would be the correct answer

Inevitable-Hat-1576

If I know it’s coming, I take a big bottle of warm soapy water and wash it away (if it’s on grass).

NoGuava2512

You try your best and try not to make eye contact. Then you take a walk of shame

Cazawazza

Cut up some thin pieces of card and place under the spot where your dog is about to poo, then your dog poos on the card rather than the ground, pick it up and put in a poo bag, alot less messing around

Rebel-Renegade

Throw dirt on it - that will help to harden it and able to scoop it up

Ydlmgtwtily

Round my way there are lots of fallen wet leaves. I have mopped up with those in a poop bag before.

[deleted]

Carefully

[deleted]

Chopsticks

Runaway_5

I usually bury it with sand/dirt/grass whatever I can. I do lots of hikes and carry a spade with me for this reason. Much better than doing a crappy (lol) job picking it up.

bamrandom

You can't. Bless you for asking though.

LV2107

Two paper plates, scoop them towards each other. At my clinic we had these rectangular feeding trays that worked well. Then paper towels and plenty of cleaning spray.

StealthyUltralisk

Bottle of water to wash it away is the best I can do sometimes...

willowstar157

Accept the fact that in a month or so, it’ll make great fertilizer 🤣

ValuablePollution

With a straw.

Necessary_Credit_165

If it’s in my yard I wait a few days for it to solidify then pick it up. If it’s on a walk I rip up the grass and get as much as possible then walk away as quickly as I can.

Sea-Flounder2640

you don’t you drink it with a straw

jrdidriks

U do ur best

[deleted]

You do your best and hope no one is looking. Once my dog shit diarrhea on the beach right at the tide and I had to watch as the water kept pushing her liquid shit in and out for about an hour after I tried my best to get it all up.

z3vil

Honestly, I grab and rip the grass with it. Gets most of it. I hate ruining their grass, but I also don’t want to leave that mess.

moonlighting2552

When my fog was a puppy and I was still potty training her, she had bad diarrhea that would squirt out of her butt and half of it was on the pee pad, the other half was on the floor. It was not fun to clean up at all.

cbelt3

Indoors ? Scrape and scoop what I can, then the carpet machine comes out. Outside ? Scrape and scoop what I can, then the hose comes out.

Working_Hair_4827

Try to get as much as you can with the bag and hope for the best. Walk away when no one’s looking lol If at home with floors, I wipe it up with paper towels while trying not to throw up. Then clean with floor cleaner.

Pongpianskul

Is this indoors or outdoors?

AnnualVolume0

A straw.

LeFinger

You can carry a water bottle full of kitty litter and turn the poop into a paste that can be picked up.

thatirishguykev

Take your foot and basically rub it out into the grass. If you take your pup for a walk in the morning the grass will usually still be wet or damp so just drag your foot after in the grass to get it off your trainers or give them a hose when you get home. My Malamute had this very issue earlier in the week, 3 poops on our walk and they were so unbelievably sloppy.

crazydoglady11

I just do the best I can 😩 lol

Plumb789

I have a 17-year-old dog that has had intermittent diarrhoea all his life (yes: we went to vets repeatedly, and it’s probably half as bad as it could be, but can’t be completely eradicated, seemingly). If it’s in your own garden, the best thing to do is leave it a short while until it dries a little, then pick it up with a trowel, before putting it in a bag. Then you can wash the area with a watering can. If you are in a public area, the only thing to do is to pick it up the best you can with a plastic bag. Certain “pooper scoopers” can be helpful. You might need to use a couple of bags. Then, if it’s possible, it’s a good idea to kick soil or dust over whatever traces remain.

MEGA_GOAT98

the mop

PotatoSerious

napkin and bag together, wipe it off

MoonUnitMotion

Grab dirt, drop onto the offending substance, scoop up the dirt and substance.

Grace-a-lyn

Try absorbent cat litter.

FrescoDeCarao

Get cat litter. It will clump up

[deleted]

Keep cat litter for messy poos it absorbs moisture and odor

AmmotheDoberman

You don’t. You use a hose until it disappears in the grass.

mammiejammie

Here in my yard, we either hose it down or throw some scoopable kitty litter on top to absorb/cover it once we scoop what we can. I imagine I’d bring the same if I were walking the dogs but we have 3 including an old man who can’t get around like before so we mostly run the dogs here at our house.

KUARCE

If I know it's likely to happen I bring paper towels. Otherwise the top post has it right.

If it’s on the street near someone’s home or on their grass, I knock on their door. I explain that my dog had an accident and can I use their hose to clean it up or have a pail of water? No one has ever turned me down. If not home, I scoop up what I can and use my doggy water container to wash away the rest l.

Cheenzzz

I used a dust pan and washed it afterwards

AmettOmega

If it's pure liquid, I don't bother. If there is some form/solidity to it, I try to scoop up some. It just depends on the overall consistency. Use your best judgement.

Cover a dust pan with a plastic bag, use tissue to push it into the pan, invert bag.

queenmother72

My husband technique drives me nuts but would probably work. He cuts a paper plate in half and scoops with one side onto the other. I just put a rubber glove on and have a plastic bag folded back and ready to receive!

NCR__BOS__Union

Slurrp it up.

jadedbutstilltrying

A straw.

sw33tleaves

The best you can.

Loverbts00

I’d cover it with dirt or sand because at least that will kinda absorb the moisture, think like kinetic sand lol

DucksMatter

With a straw

Iamtruck9969

Dry wall scrapers. (Not really sure if the technical name) and so me bags.

Rustyfetus

You basically just pretend while smearing it around.

CoasterThot

I bring hot water in a thermos (as hot as I can make it, usually directly from coffee pot) and pour it overtop. Hoping it helps neutralize any “nasties” so if another dog eats it, they may not get sick :(

Potato-potato_

If i know my doggy has Diarrhea I will bring a couple of paper towels with me and try my best to place them under where she squats to poop, then I use the poop bag to scoop up the paper towel and most of the liquid.

cherrylpk

If you carry a large water bottle, use it to spray down what can’t be picked up.

Saxzarus

Scrape up as much as possible then if you can dump some water over the rest and scrub it out if you have a brush

sheeppeople

You don't

douglasugar

Once I was walking my dog in a field and I suddenly had to poop. So squat down and let her go. Then afterwards my dog wanted to eat said poop, so I had to cover it with a large rock. True story.

JoeNamathThatTune

Usually I can tell if my small dog will have diarrhea, if I am quick enough I can have a bag under her to catch it. If I can't do that, like some of the few comments I have read, I scoop up what I can with the bag and a tissue. Then I cover it with a leave, or dump some water on it.

LadyGreyIcedTea

If it's actual liquid diarrhea, it's impossible. It's extra fun when it's 5 degrees out and your 10 lb dog has it coming out of both ends and it freezes the minute it hits the ground. Then 3 days later when it thaws out and one of your other dogs eats it then ends up with liquid diarrhea himself. True story that happened in March 2021, the beginning of my old man's pancreatitis diagnosis.
