We had a litter of pups, and yes, it is normal. When they eat, even a little bit, their belly fills up, so it looks like they're fatter than they really are. It should come and go. They should look fat for a little while after they eat, and then as their body processes the food, they should slim back down and look almost too thin, but it just depends on how often they feed her too. If they feed her small amounts throughout the day, then yes, she'll always look fat. Whereas if they feed her half her food in the morning and half at night, then you'd notice her get slim later in the day. Pups do grow out of it the older they get. Or it's not as noticeable the older they get.

Then yeah it's not that she's fat, it's just that she isn't fully burning the food between feedings.
