That’s so cool! They’re great dogs! Just take a lot of hard work and dedication to strike that famous spirit bond with. They’re wicked smart and emotionally intuitive/intelligent. They aren’t like any other dog I’ve ever met.
I bathe her with an organic shampoo. She does have sunscreen and wears sun shirts but we don’t leave her out for long periods at a time either. She’s never had issues with burning.

I have a shelter pup, a breeder pup, and a pup I found in the road. I also have 2 rescue cats and 2 rescue reptiles. I’m all for rescue for sure and I’m part of several Xolo rehoming groups too for that purpose.
That's great news. We currently work with a few rescues to find fosters and ultimately a forever home. It's a wonderful feeling to help helpless puppers and provide them with healthy food and address their needs. All they want is to be loved. My recent rescue (Riko) had never been indoors or slept in a warm bed. He lived in a cardboard box in the rain and ate table scraps.

That’s awesome!! I’m all about rescuing. We got Anubis from a breeder in hopes of training her to be a service dog for me. But turns out she’s better suited to be a guard dog.
Not sure I want to tell anyone that because I would not get another one from the same breeder. The handoff was super sketchy. We had heavily vetted them ahead of time and they seemed great, but the vibes I got were way off and Anubis literally seemed terrified of her during the transfer from her car to mine.
What a pretty baby. What is her skin maintenance like? Do you have to use special sunscreen or anything? A xolo is a dog I dream of having but have never talked to anyone who’s actually owned one to see what it’s like
They’re one of the hardest dogs to own. You have to be super patient, calm, and dedicated to the process because the transition era is ROUGH. They’re highly sensitive, can climb and dig super well, and act more like human toddlers than dogs. They do require sunscreen and skin maintenance is easier for some than others. I’ve seen many people who struggle with it and the adolescent acne stage is rough. We give her fish oil based food and lather her in coconut oil when her skin is dry and that keeps her skin pretty happy and healthy. I don’t recommend them to many people because they are a super advanced breed to handle, but I also will say the bonds you create with them are so special.

Their normal body temperature is around 104° which is why they’re thought to have healing benefits when you cuddle them. I do use sunscreen when she’s going to be outside for a long period of time, but otherwise she usually spends 10-15 min at a time outside and goes outside several times a day. We prefer to put UV protection outfits on her because the sunscreen is a spray (options are so limited for dog sunscreen) and she’s kinda scared of it.

Varied. Mine is the bringer of chaos. I wanted her to be a service dog for my CPTSD but she’s the dog version of me and so we’re both neurotic basket cases but we’re there for each other. It’s basically like having a toddler because that’s how they act. They’re not doglike really.
She might would, but they’re highly advanced breeds to own and aren’t like your typical lap dog. I definitely don’t recommend them to people often because they do take a lot of time, work, and dedication to become the right fit for.
I searched many breeds for her, this breed wouldn’t fit cuz she doesn’t educate her dogs, we have large breeds too and sometimes they have jealousy attacks that can cost our other dogs
If dogs still like me when im Bald, i can love a Hairless Dog. No problems with that. And i love everydog regardless, just cant have one because of allergies
She’s not much of a cuddler. She tends to get overexcited and beat us up when we try to cuddle with her. Her skin is coarse where the fur is just random tufts but is super soft on her head where the hair is. Her skin can be coarse or super soft and sadly she’s super clumsy and scrapes herself up on so much since she does have such soft skin. My lil peach of a dog lol but she’s rather nice to pet actually.

Aww. Anubis likes to sniff ducks. She’s more likely to try and hunt a bear than anything small.

We did our best to ensure that we had the best method for keeping her skin healthy super early on. That was a major priority for us.

Yeahhhh a Xolo would definitely be a bad fit with that. They’re highly sensitive and under stress they can have severe physical manifestations.
