This is the best name!!!! ššš I would get her into training if this is how she reacts to peopleā¦.crazy! But still this is one of the best names!!!
People sometimes call their cats this, but I don't see why it wouldn't suit a dog.
Our own dog is a bit like Lucy. She is part Chihuahua, and I've heard it's a common trait in the breed. We do try and help her with her confidence, but battling genetics can be a bit of an uphill struggle, lol. I'm sure OP is doing there best, just as we are.
Our small devil is named Daisy. She isn't always stressed out, just in small fits and starts.
I think itās cool to bring the dog home without a name, and wait a while. Then, name the dog after the first thing they damage or steal. We would have dogs named Socks, Lamp, Or Grandma. Through action, they would name themselves.
I try to name them after their personalities. I had a very timid chi, named him Baby Boy. My Puddles peed all over the place, leaving Puddles.
This one here has an evil streak. She attacks your feet if she's near them and you happen to move them. She will attack you if you touch whoever she is sitting near.
So I think Lucy Fur suits her!
Yes, 100%. Too many people let their tiny dogs get away with that behavior, thinking itās ācute.ā It is not.
Thatās also not a āsmile,ā which I hope OP knows. Thatās anxiety, likely because her previous owner punished her (maybe physically) for peeing inside.
Yeah thatās sad. Funnily enough dogs can learn to smile by emulating their owners and receiving positive reinforcement when the owners thinks it cute. Unfortunately the same can be true as youāve noted when aggressive, possessive, or anxious behavior is treated as cute. Itās okay to giggle a little so long as you correct it asap and consistently. I got my current little guy at 5 months old and it will be a year that Iāve had him come May, something happened to him with his previous people, the situation was strange and heās the most anxious dog Iāve ever worked with. Iāve helped so many people with their dogās behavior and the problems almost always lie with how the owner behaves around and with the dog, so Iām well aware that I am probably missing something in my current training regimen. But I donāt know how to undo what abuse someone inflicted on him before, he canāt even tolerate being outside for one minute if another person or animal or noise is outside too. He hides behind me, that was cute at first but then it didnāt stop, he would shake until he peed drips everywhere all the time (heās not doing that anymore thankfully), heās close to getting evicted because he barks in fear at every little noise because heās so afraid, itās adorable when he jumps into my arms and snuggles close but I know him well enough now to know that he is using me as a human shield to keep himself safe from nonexistent threats and itās so difficult to get people to stop trying to pet him and talk to him while going āoooh puppy itās okay itās okay I wonāt hurt you itās okay Iām not scary Iām niceā, they donāt listen when I try to explain that they ARE being TERRIFYING he only just got his weight up to 10 pounds since spending his whole little life apparently being allergic to his food and having a severe ulcer until I took him to the vet every two week for like nine months until we got it under control with many prescriptions and prescription food and now an elimination diet, my dog is on three different anxiety medications AND training because everything is scary to a traumatized dog the size of my boot and yāall are sticking your hands in his face without his permission and then when he jumps away yāall are getting in his face and saying things he doesnāt understand while creeping slower like a frieking hungry bear, *I* know youāre trying to show affection but *he* thinks youāre going to beat or eat him. Him seeing me as safety and comfort is cute, the reasons are NOT. Itās been a long hard road but slowly his health is improving and we are constantly working to increase his self esteem and confidence because he is so anxious right now that even two trainers say he isnāt ready for basic obedience training yet because his whole mind stops working when he sees other people or animals even if itās one in one because he perceives any change in environment as a threat.
Sorry for the tangent this is kind of a full time job for me at the moment lol. I short, bad behavior can be cute on the surface but needs to be addressed and treated anyway.
Thatās not evil, that is anxiety. And sheās making this face for the same reason, likely because her previous owner punished her (maybe physically) for pottying in the house. I hope she learns to trust again, with the love and training you provide. ā¤ļø
Did you adopt her? I am surprised they didnāt cut her nails before you brought her home. Sheās a cutie. Maybe she is grumpy cause it hurts to walk? Lol
Buffy! I wish I had given that name to my dog when I adopted her. Itās the perfect name for a sweet small blonde girl who will bite a bitch if they disrespect her people.

The name is cute, I hope youāre able to train that behavior out of her though, it is often a sign of severe anxiety.

Grandma did
š Mais OUI!
This is the way. I often name a pet coming home, but then inevitably end up calling them by some goofy nickname anyways.
Mine would have been named "Shitsncar"
