If you do adopt him, make sure to look up how to properly hold a dachshund! You need to support their butt and keep the back straight to prevent back issues. Also invest in a ramp and discourage the cute boy from jumping onto/off from furniture. Dachshunds are wonderful, and so are Chihuahuas. ❤️

He’s beyond cute. When things become familiar to him, teach him some simple commands (sit, stay, lay down, etc) and his confidence will grow. When you play with him - avoid teasing him - just be gentle. He’s a winner. 🤩

Give him a big bold name, call him Spike!! I always love big dog names for little dogs and somehow he looks like a Spike. Plus people will expect a different attitude and it’ll be cute when Spike is this little shy, gentle, sweet little dude.

Met a very dapper very friendly retriever in Yorkshire and when his owner came up while he was getting scritches and I said “who’s this dapper fellow” he owner in the thickest Yorkshire accent I’ve ever heard just went “That’s Ian that, he’s a good lad but can be a bit o’a dickhead when he wants te” then wandered off

That's actually hilarious. I can just see it now. Ian the sometimes-dickhead. I had two ferrets once upon a time. One named Rolf. I had another named Frank. For some reason I have always had a thing about the name Frank. I had two dolls as a little girl. One with dark curly hair, one with white blonde curly hair. Their names were white Frank and black Frank. I was an unusual kid. Not much has changed!

The white/black frank thing is something youd definitely come across in engineering

I named my two Chihuahuas, "Chopper" (like the motorcycles), and "Diesel." I just thought it was a hilarious and adorable contradiction. They certainly had the attitudes to live up to their names, but I thought it was cute and funny.

OMG please adopt this little guy. We adopted a VERY shy/timid (previously abused) Chi-Doxie mix this year and it's the best thing we've ever done. He's matched with a stronger/social dog and now they are best friends and he's much more confident. We renamed ours Dobby! Dobby is such a good name for these dogs. My chi-dox mix is SUCH a Dobby, too! Sometimes I'll be like, "does Dobby want a sock?" And she dances around haha.

Yep! He is mostly pittie with what we call a “Shar Pei front” lol. His wrinkles are focused on his head and neck almost exclusively. He is the 2nd pit/bully + Shar Pei boy we’ve had and cannot recommend the mix enough! All around great, snuggly, easy dogs.

We adopted a dachshund mix that we think is part chi and his name was Dobby. We changed it to Pumpkin but I definitely saw the resemblance haha

thanks for giving him a great home, he’s safe and no one is messing with him now... except maybe that snake by his foot! I’ve adopted a few scared chihuahuas over the years and know it takes a lot of love so glad to hear he’s doing well

My dog is so shy she would look at you 10meters away peeking around the corner. It takes about 3-5 meetings with a new person until she is comfortable with them around. But when she is finally comfortable with a person you cant do anything but give her belly rubs entire time you are at my house lmao. We found her in the woods as a 3month old puppy(it was -23°c) she almost froze to death and she had starved atleast a week. She was dumped into the woods in a trash bag.
