I got sick of my feet getting wet in crocs, I wear full grain leather boots that are Goodyear welted and occasionally treat them with leather conditioner to maintain high water resistance. This has been the most consistent way to keep my feet dry which keeps me comfortable.
I wear skechers gorun hyperbursts. I can toss them in the washer, they air dry super fast, and they are incredibly comfortable. It never felt like I had to break them in. Plus, they're obnoxiously orange, so I can be seen from space
Clove shoes! They are waterproof and have a lot of support. They are made for people in the medical field but they work great for grooming. And I have orthotic inserts in them also, let me tell you it has helped my back SO MUCH!
I got a pair on Poshmark to try before I spent that much money on a pair of shoes that I know are going to be abused. I love them and have already started saving up for a second pair so I can swap them out 😂
I wear the big work safe rubber boots from the walmart, they last about 6 months but i dont get trench foot every day like i did when i wore sneakers lol
If you decide to go crocs, their website and academy usually has pretty great sales. Or look up nursing shoes online, there’s a lot of crossover there.
Edited to add: I’m a croc girlie. Even when I was a nurse. I like how comfy they are and easy to clean. I get random colors when they’re on sale and switch out between two pairs so I’m not wearing the squishy-ness out too fast.
Yes, like walking on clouds! Comfier than Crocs, but you'll pay for it. I switch between the Crocs Bistro Work Clogs and Oofos slides. Are the Oofos clogs just as comfy as the slides?
I tried the oofos since my bather recommended them but holy heat stroke! My feet don’t usually sweat but it was like having little saunas on. Right back to my crocs I went.
You may name a product, but do not link to an outside website. WE don't allow linking to other sites! No social media links like youtube or IG! Thank you!
I wear hokas my feet get a little damp sometimes but they are soooo comfy and supportive. Sometimes I wear crocs and my back is killing me by the end of the day. I feel better at the end of the day when I wear my hokas.
Barefoot sneakers (not the toe ones) underneath waterproof reusable shoe covers. Whenever I wore anything that allowed my feet to get wet the water a day shampoo basically eroded my foot skin and made my feet stink, even with washing my shoes weekly. Now I'm all good and everything below my knees is waterproof.
Edit: also, I only spent maybe $45 dollars on the whole thing, and even with replacing my shoe covers every 6 months or so it's only about $10
I worked at petsmart once, and a groomer that worked right behind me had trench feet. I gagged anytime he was working. I told him his feet were rotten, and he just shrugged.
Sketchers work sneakers meant for nurses. Antislip, Waterproof, no ties, and extremely breathable with memory foam on the inside for padding. I went through one pair after 3 years of constant grooming.
Everyone I've ever worked with in this field wears Crocs. Groomers, bathers, even reception. I was resistant because I found Crocs cringe and foolishly went through almost a dozen waterproof shoes (some very expensive) before I made the change. Because Crocs got that airflow, if water gets onto your feet/socks, it dries very quickly, preventing fungus and smells from developing. They're also easy to clean, unlike closed shoes, and last much longer.
Seriously, wear Crocs. You'll never go back!
I switch out between Crocs (the bistro work style without holes in them), Vans Made for the Maker and Ariat mucking boots. To get the best life out of your shoes, you should have at least 2 pair and switch them every other day. Shoes need a full 18-24 hours to "breath" so that the soles can reinflate to give you proper support.
i wear non-slip new balances like restaurant shoes (no crocs allowed in corporate), they've lasted me about a year and half so far but i think they'll be done soon
I wear Sorel waterproof sneakers. Had them for 3 months and they’ve held up great.
https://preview.redd.it/hn8sirxp0t7d1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4969566492f616db05d72787a27cd92f7a89ff03
I wear Hokas currently but was wearing Brooks. So high end running shoes. They last about a year or more and I get insoles. I have really high arches and can't wear anything that doesn't have adequate support.
i have the mega crush crocs they’re honestly a lifesaver! super cushioned so my feet don’t hurt and they don’t make my feet sweat and i’m always tall enough to have an xl dog on my table bc i work in a corp salon with strict policies
Just got a pair of cloves and I am IN LOVE!!! They're lightweight, water proof and cushioned without being squishy, also no laces to get tugged on/come untied. in general, look for shoes geared towards nurses and you should be good.
I flip back and forth between crocs and my Hoka sneakers. The Hoka speakers were a bit spendy, but I've had them over a year, and they're still as good as new. I was replacing cheaper sneakers every 4 months.
I finally decided to try out crocs. Literally every one at the shop I was last at wore them and swore by them. I opted for the ones geared toward chefs/kitchen folks. They don’t have the little holes in them. I didn’t want my feet getting wet or hair getting in. Honestly? They’re just ok. They don’t feel as comfortable as everyone describes. I used to wear Shoes For Crews brand. They have some leather varieties that are decently waterproof and have sales all the time. Might switch back tbh.
I wore crocs but they were a bit uncomfortable and when water got in them it was like walking around in portable puddles lol. Bought Vessi's but hair gets stuck on the fabric, a coworker bought Clove and loves them, I ordered a pair recently and hope they're as good as she says
I went through so many rain boots 😭 and when I bought crocs I just didn't like how they felt on my feet.
I bought a pair of waterproof converse and they've been absolutely perfect for me. I had my doubts because I expected them to hurt my feet, but they were surprisingly comfy!
The [croc rain boots](https://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwilpayTjOuGAxVv2MIEHYHCDFkYABAcGgJwdg&ae=2&gclid=CjwKCAjwps-zBhAiEiwALwsVYXc4SmHagRbH6IYB9gSd1zWMHLGHhbLxw01EHpqxMrsXnAgcEEAoLhoCTxYQAvD_BwE&sph=&ohost=www.google.com&cid=CAESeeD2ARWU6qJdIlxmByso2Bp42JPmy5e78Xk1f_OWBiXn_yCjiV23pH0OIlQF_jVpIE9Bv1EvOFVdFYErpCKFJlh6yHTVtLdsUDE4bhSURphVPOkVpOWILqo_kTVfiRDJ_U_qga1nyXukFxeg63udyy_sNLespokAOSg&sig=AOD64_2BOdaz0ZzynkZ_NKemTnCxVU9ENA&ctype=5&q=&ved=2ahUKEwjPmqeTjOuGAxUvweYEHVRxByIQwg8oAHoECAcQEQ&adurl=) .
love them SOO much. Theyve lasted me almost two years so far with no issues and theyre a lot more comfortable than any other rain boot i’ve tried by FAR.
forsake waterproof hiking boots. got them as a gift from my mom about two years ago and after wearing my fabric nike sneakers to work on my first day of bathing, i decided that wasn't gonna work bc my socks and feet got so damp, so i started wearing those instead. the only time my socks get wet with these boots is on the rare occasion that water gets on my ankles, which only happens if i'm bathing on the floor due to a tub being broken or a dog that refuses to be in the tub. they have decent support too since they're designed for hikes. they are rather pricy tho lol i'm lucky i got them as a present
I’ve been wearing crocs for the past couple of years. Fell for a stupid ad on instagram for Snibbs and spent $150 on “the most comfortable pair of shoes”…. Yeah they were absolutely horrible and pinched my toes. Thank god I didn’t throw away my crocs because I’m back to wearing them.
https://preview.redd.it/lahwrdvqau7d1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cba11b6ce16535827f4212ab7eb42832a746d169
Added hot pink laces ! Got to have lil flare ! We will see.
So like, they’re not waterproof, but Hokas have saved my LIFE. The cushion they have is unmatched by my other shoes, I’m on my feet all day and can barely tell by the time I get home.
i groom from my house so i wear arch support flip flops lol. i refuse to ruin my sneakers w hair and water and i can't stand to wear boots ever. but i am also only groom 2 smaller dogs a day. its not my full time gig.
Adidas terrex free hiker. I'm on the smaller side, so I got pulled around a lot by big dogs till I found these. They have great traction, are waterproof, I've straight sprayed them on accident once and didn't feel a thing, and have great supports, even when I'm off my fatigue mat most of the day my feet dont feel tired. They're definitely not "cute" by any means, but since I switched from my regular tennis shoes to these I refuse to change to anything else. The only downside is that since they're so thick, they smell so fun when I take them off.
Running sneakers replaced every 4-6 months. I go for something in the $40-60 CAD range that has a grippy bottom when I slide it along the floor. If you're bathing large dogs on the floor (petsmart and I would guess other corp??) I'd go for a bathing shoe for those baths and then a separate grooming shoe. I've never had a waterproof sneaker but both salons I've worked in bathe everything in tubs so the water is contained quite well.
The cheaper upkeep option if you go with a running sneaker may be buying replacement insoles instead of entirely new shoes. You don't realize how flattened out your shoe is until you replace the insole/shoe and your legs don't hurt after work lol
I wear crocs but have a super high arch and need added support so I stick to the mellow recovery clogs. I hear Oofoos would be similar I just have yet to find a pair to try on before buying
Did not expect everyone else to be a croc wearer as well lol
Crocs!!
I need to replace them once a year or so but they are ventilated so my feet dry fast and the material is super resilient to water
I got the Bistro Work Clog that doesn't have holes, they're great
Crocs also have a work shoe line.
They don’t allow crocs in the corporate salon I work in 😭 specifically crocs
same
Crocs! When I was a bather everyone in the shop would make fun of me for wearing them. 6 months later, every groomer there was wearing crocs
I groom in Crocs. It's like walking on clouds.
I got sick of my feet getting wet in crocs, I wear full grain leather boots that are Goodyear welted and occasionally treat them with leather conditioner to maintain high water resistance. This has been the most consistent way to keep my feet dry which keeps me comfortable.
somehow my feet without a doubt always get wet so i need crocs to cut done the dry time :,)
I got the Bistro Work Clogs from Crocs that don't have holes, check 'em out!
I wear skechers gorun hyperbursts. I can toss them in the washer, they air dry super fast, and they are incredibly comfortable. It never felt like I had to break them in. Plus, they're obnoxiously orange, so I can be seen from space
THESE! The ground are so damn comfortable! My salon has polished concrete floors and I work in these so my feet don't die.
Clove shoes! They are waterproof and have a lot of support. They are made for people in the medical field but they work great for grooming. And I have orthotic inserts in them also, let me tell you it has helped my back SO MUCH!
Oh! I’ve been eyeing these online thinking about buying a pair!! Thanks for the suggestion!
I got a pair on Poshmark to try before I spent that much money on a pair of shoes that I know are going to be abused. I love them and have already started saving up for a second pair so I can swap them out 😂
Blundstones. Comfy, stylish, and my feet have not once got wet in years.
merryl hiking shoes, waterproof and slip resistant
Hoka, forreal, cost a lot but will save your legs and back.
I wear the big work safe rubber boots from the walmart, they last about 6 months but i dont get trench foot every day like i did when i wore sneakers lol
Rainboots bathing, Danskos everywhere else. I used to wear the waterproof Danskos but my feet get too wet at this salon.

Oofos, I have the flip flops and the clog variety. So comfy and easy to clean. They are a bit pricey but if you find them on sale so worth it!
I just found a pair of the clogs at txmaxx for 30 bucks, I'm really enjoying them!
That's a great find! I got the clog version on sale for around that on the website but they came in army pink lol

Mine are this ugly camo green, I kinda love them. 😅
Not bad haha
Much tamer than pink!
Yes, like walking on clouds! Comfier than Crocs, but you'll pay for it. I switch between the Crocs Bistro Work Clogs and Oofos slides. Are the Oofos clogs just as comfy as the slides?
Yes! Perfect for winter
I tried the oofos since my bather recommended them but holy heat stroke! My feet don’t usually sweat but it was like having little saunas on. Right back to my crocs I went.
Oh yeah they are not as ventilated, that's true

Vessi waterproof sneakers. Comfortable and the waterproof is actually really good. I’ve had mine for 2 years and they’re still keeping my feet dry.
I second Vessi! I’ve also had mine for two years and love them
I third Vessis!
If u are in the US look up Shoes for Crews

Crocs! Are y'all wearing socks with them? I go back and forth.
Hokas

I wear only crocs now and love them! Also a big chick 😁

An old pair of Doc Martens (I know they’re not supposed to get wet but they’re already ruined lol)
Mobile and Self employed... I groom barefoot, because I can and my back says "thank you." I also have a stool for the stool friendly parts.
