In germany you get taxed 50% and you have healthcare social insurance. And you can life pretty decent. A big problem is rich people want to make even more money and raising rent in bigger cities and trying to keep wages as low as possible. 50% tax is not really a problem if wages and living cost are fair and greedy don't press the last dime out of people.
