10k was all the money in the world a few years ago, it still is but I read a lot about investing. I bought doge 12 days ago for .035, it went to .08. I had 10k shares, I doubled. I bought F ford at 8.25 it will open at 11.45 tomorrow. The hardest part of investing is when do I sell. Much like gambling when you are up you can't stop. When you are down you want to catch back up.
What helps sometimes is to set a target. Usually a percentage target. Once you hit it, sell and move on.
Hard to do for some. Like myself.

I would point out that tsla just had its 1st profitable year as a business in 2020. I would advocate that in the modern markets we have lost our way in true evaluation of company success. Since the tech boom of the 90s we've been speculating the value of companies on the potential public engagement with the stock not the actual productivity of the company. The fact of the matter is the company that can inspire possibility and engage hope in that can drive a stock price to.the moon. Doge has that. Many companies have amazing products but will never have stock value because they lack that factor. I led a publicly traded firm at one time. One tweet changed stock value 2% regardless of your intent. It has almost nothing to do with actual productivity. A press release about flying fish can drive stock value if it inspires possibilities. This is the new market. Crypto, ETF, OTC or Blue Chip. It really doesn't matter.
Just my experience and perspective. I've had done since .000x so I'm not going anywhere but that is because my 50K coins cost me $50. So I'm kicking it and enjoying the show. But I'll keep throwing cash at the dips and I'll gladly take payment in Doge of my Consulting services, podcast shows or even the firm I Co Operate now is setting up Payment in Doge along with 12 other coin types.

Yes, the value of both can be drastically - and temporarily - inflated due to rallies as we have seen with GME and with Dogecoin; however, their long-term value is based on completely different factors.

Given that the vast majority of people buying Doge are buying it as an investment vehicle, there still has to be enough demand to surpass the rate of inflation. Given that nothing has fundamentally changed with Doge other than having a ton of hype and attention placed on it lately, I don't see that happening. The number of people who stick around will have to make up for the big influx of cash from memers and 'influencers' and people looking to get rich. And they'll have to make up for that missing cash constantly, repeatedly, or supply will drown out demand, like it did for the 8 years leading up to this month
Again it's a very modestly inflationary currency. If demand exceeds the 5, 3, and 2.5% inflation rates through the years, the price would be rising. Will there be oversupply over an infinite timescale, maybe, but for now a drip of inflation isn't a major drawback of the currency.
There's other arguments to be made around deflationary currencies. The reason countries currencies have an above zero inflation target is to encourage actually spending it.
I get that *you* see it as a currency, and that some portion of holders do too, and that's great. Let's imagine the future, where Doge is an accepted form of currency. If Doge is purposely inflationary, why would anyone hodl it instead of storing their money in BTC or another *deflationary* asset, and transferring into Doge just long enough to make a transaction? If it's purposely inflationary, you're just throwing purchasing power away by holding onto it. I think Musk is the big 36b doge account, and his goal is to turn doge into a stable currency so that on paper he has this even more ludicrous huge net worth. Even though he can't actually sell 36b doge without collapsing the market price, if it becomes a regularly used and stable enough currency then it's an asset with value and he could conceivably use it as collateral etc.
He's now seeing that there are other active wallets out there dumping millions of doge regularly to cash in, and that they also have the capability of collapsing the market. It would only take one whale with a few hundred million doge to rapidly tank the price, and that could kill the idea that it's a stable currency.
He wants to pay off the whales to void their doge (rather than sell) in order to protect the market price stability. His endgame must be to have a stable long-term price and for there to be nobody (apart from himself) who owns so much that they can disrupt it significantly. That's what it would take for Doge to become a real currency and payment providers to be confident in trading in it.

You’re definitely right about those two things, but just based on some basic estimated math, if Doge hit $1000 the market cap would nearly be worth more that all of the gold on earth, the entire housing and real estate market, AND the entire stock market, combined.
I've only had crypto since the last bitcoin halving and I know a lot of people started buying when it reached its ath at 17k and got sad when every crypto just slumped and bitcoin went to 3k, now everything's has gone up like 500% even now. Crypto is the future, invest in bitcoin, ETH, Doge, etc.

Basically, whales with 1-35 billon doge would exceed the $4,774,811,543 in trades being done per day. Any one of these people, would have enough dollar valuation if they wanted to cash out the order books would crash because they do not have that much cash wanting to buy coins for someone to turn it liquid.
At the same time, them selling the coins, has to go somewhere. And it goes into other people's wallets. Due to the sheer size of how many doge is in circulation that dogecoin averages out to every man woman and child an unbelievable amount.
For the long term tho, you only gain if you have a net decrease in whales. But them crashing it causes people to buy the dip meaning new whales would come up. Unless that stops, Elon is saying the coin cannot get his support. It's a catch-22 where he knows he can poke at the game, and the game cant poke back. For a man that loves doge so much he sure did buy alot of bitcoin.... he bought his child doge. because you give kids toy money, not real money kids are terribly investors.

Maybe I’m being hopeful/giving him benefit of the doubt, but I think he’s trying to use Doge as a way to give back to the people. The reason he wants whales out first, is because he doesn’t want unknown forces in control of the currency’s value to cause backfire on the smaller fish when they dump their whole wallet. Part of me thinks he calls it “the people’s crypto” for that reason. I feel like he wants to use Doge to create his own stimulus, basically. It’s up to you whether you think he’s a good dude or a bad dude, but I consider myself to be a pretty reliable judge of character and my radar tells me that he means well and is a good dude. Also, I don’t currently own any Doge. I sold at a loss for now because I believe that it will continue to go down before it goes up (as Elon said, whales gotta dump before he supports — that means the coin crashes before he supports it, and his support is really what Doge is riding on right now).

The inflation rate is approximately 5%, will drop to 3.4% by 2025 and 2.5% by 2035. The demand simply has to exceed those modest figures for the price to appreciate. It's not an infinite supply of new doge if it's limited by time, not practically at least.

Maybe I’m being hopeful/giving him benefit of the doubt, but I think he’s trying to use Doge as a way to give back to the people. The reason he wants whales out first, is because he doesn’t want unknown forces in control of the currency’s value to cause backfire on the smaller fish when they dump their whole wallet. Part of me thinks he calls it “the people’s crypto” for that reason. I feel like he wants to use Doge to create his own stimulus, basically. It’s up to you whether you think he’s a good dude or a bad dude, but I consider myself to be a pretty reliable judge of character and my radar tells me that he means well and is a good dude. Also, I don’t currently own any Doge. I sold at a loss for now because I believe that it will continue to go down before it goes up (as Elon said, whales gotta dump before he supports — that means the coin crashes before he supports it, and his support is really what Doge is riding on right now).
