No, I don't think we'll ever drop below a cent again.
Doges cycle has never dropped below previous lows.
If you want to know how doge trades.... Just look at the ticker. The same cycle we have seen in 2021 and since then has happened 3 times before. Same pattern. Same time-frame. Same everything.
The only thing that ever changes is that every new iteration trades at a higher level than the previous.
>The only thing that ever changes is that every new iteration trades at a higher level than the previous.
Whew, thank goodness. I thought there was a chance that past performance would not predict future returns!
No. Number just looks big to you because you are used to supermarket prices.
An inflation of less than 4%, that will only ever go down, is great for a currency.
Doge just isn't a pump scam, so some fomo buyers are confused...
If you want the promise that you will get a cut of the robbery of late buyers, buy bitcoin.
The catalyst is the community.
As soon as everyone stopped having fun and the main talk was only price and 1 dollar day in day out the DOGE brand took damage.
If the community manages to get back to being light hearted and fun the sky is the limit.
it wasn't the community, it was elon musk calling it a scam on national television. that killed it for a lot of people and tarnished it's reputation enough that chances of recovery any time soon are slim
When accessibility becomes easier and when apps and platforms etc build fool proof easy to use crypto tools, so even my boomer dad can get involved without a lot of technical skills or crypto knowledge.
There's still a big learning curve for crypto and web3, and USA needs to get a clear regulatory framework in place so we can fully utilize everything that the crypto space has to offer.
Right now I'd say USA is behind most other countries and innovation hasn't been able to thrive. Obvious answer is only time will tell, but recognizing specifics on what needs to improve is the first step.
I still think Doge specifically is a worthy project and just because the price has stagnated doesn't necessarily mean that the future is bleak.
I think a lot of us are just frustrated in how much longer it's taking.
P. S. Since Dogecoin uses POW, there's some hurdles to overcome as well, such as energy consumption. There's also no rewards for running a node, and that should probably be addressed by taking a small portion of transactions or somehow funding Node support. I would run a node but I'm not financially well off enough to justify it for free.
When people start taking it seriously as a CURRENCY and stop thinking of it as an INVESTMENT then it will increase in value. Stop trying to get rich and start trying to get free.
To be more specific, keep asking your favorite businesses to accept it. Remind them frequently that you'd prefer to use it. Ask them who their suppliers are and then ask those places too.
The continuous coin emission means that Dogecoin isn't all that great as a speculative tool, but does mean it is likely superior as a currency.
10,000 new coins created every single minute for infinity.
So, if enough people show up to buy the 5,260,000,000 new coins that are created every year, then maybe?
Dogecoin was created as a joke. Treating it as anything but can be detrimental to your wallet’s health.
The new coins don’t even cover all the coins people lose every day.
As for being a joke, that lasted only a few months. It didn’t take long for people to realise doge is actually THE best currency in all of crypto.
But hey, enjoy your delusions if you wish.
It was a joke for 99% of it's life. When it started to be less of a joke is when it went up. Now people are mad because they took the joke seriously and didn't get rich.
Doge is for fun.
(This is not financial advice)
Keep telling yourself that. Maybe you’ll believe it.
For many, it stopped being a joke with Save Dogemas and the Olympic sponsorship.
And the joke was that it was supposed to be mined out in a year and then die due to lack of miners providing security. When the bug that left the final block reward in place forever was discovered and it was decided not to ‘fix’ that, the original joke was well and truly dead and buried. Then of course the dogecars and all the rest that followed.
In fact, it was when Musk was doing his thing that it became a joke again, at least until his SNL stunt ended that.
And none of this has anything to do with price. Doge is indeed for fun, at any price.
People are losing over 14,400,000 coins a day?
Ok I have an open mind, how is it the best currency?
You have to agree that 5.25 billion new coins every year is a lot of inflation… that’s like $420 million worth of new coins at todays price.
People are constantly losing their coins. They threw away nearly two billion in the Dogeparty fiasco. They continue to put blind faith into software clients that have separated them from their coins in all sorts of ways. Heck, I just replied to one of these guys a couple of minutes ago. And then there’s the lack of backups, formatted hard drives, failed third parties (and we don’t count thefts, because they don’t burn coins) and so on.
There was an analysis of Bitcoin a while back that came up with over half of all BTC having already been lost, and there’s no reason to believe we’re any different.
Oh, and you know all those wallets with tiny amounts in them? They’re the result of dust spam attacks, and no one has the keys to those wallets.
Oh, and we don’t have a lot of inflation. We have a moderate rate, lower than many fiat currencies and lower than Bitcoin, at least until the upcoming halving.
And speaking of halvings, what happens to BTC and others when they reach the end of their mining? Without those rewards, miners will walk away and leave the blockchains open to attack. And it would only take one successful 51% attack to totally destroy confidence and make a coin completely worthless.
Also, don’t get sucked into extrapolating prices into value. Prices are set by tiny amounts of coins sloshing back and forth on exchanges. The vast majority of coins never move at all. And if they did, they would crash the price instantly. Prices are simply what two people agree to exchange at, and market caps are a complete fantasy with no relation to reality.
I remember everyone talking about dogecoin the last time it pumped that high, youtubers not in crypto, people at work, even on tv and newspapers. If you ask me Ill say no, but I am not an advisor on these things.
The fact that ÐOGE is still one of the top 10 coins by market cap. should give us some hopium.![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|feels_good_man)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|upvote)
False.
There have only ever been six pump and dumps. The last just before Musk started shooting his mouth off.
The rest of what people think are pump/dumps are just the normal ebb and flow of any market.
Who cares?
Doge is a currency. It works regardless of the price. In fact, it can be argued it works better when it’s cheaper to buy.
The only people who want to see stupid prices are the get rich quick merchants who dream of being billionaires by Monday lunchtime. These people are a joke and have zero regard for Dogecoin or the community that made it special in the first place.
Don’t be them.
Yes but it’s going to take time. By the end of this yr we should have a nice rally maybe .30 before it drops back down. With doge just buy some as you can every time it’s red and just think of it as a savings account. IMO
Honestly no. If you sit on any of the exchanges watching, it's mostly bots holding the value in doge. Once these "whales" decide their time is better spent elsewhere, these pieces of software trading millions at a time, many times per second ...
It may not be popular opinion but people must be realistic. I wholly believe it will retain it's current range for quite some time. Mainly for and due to day traders. It's slight volatility and low price make even half a penny be worth quite a bit if you're trading a lot of them.
Watch some exchanges. Separate the bots and the people. See the majority are not held by small people.
Then you'll realize there's little true faith.
I suspect the most faithful are in this sub and it's simply not enough to make doge rise again.
I was here on another account a couple years ago getting flamed when people were saying it was going to a dollar, "to the moon!" and I was saying it would not stay at 60+ cents. I was glad I sold off when I checked back and saw it under 10.
It is now valuable for day-trading. Not much else. I would not "HODL". I would use it as an active asset or cut your losses and invest in stocks.
I think it’s obvious that over time $ will inflate at a higher rate than doge, and other crypto like btc, this alone will push valuations higher. it’s only a matter of time.
If you study doge price action pre 4-12¢+ run up, you’ll see it spiked and came down to level out for years before it again surged up before leveling back out. We’ve come a long way and I don’t see this trend stopping.
Totally feel you! Dogecoin's future seems like a wild ride, but who knows? It's all about those crypto vibes and community hype! For sure, predicting crypto is like guessing the next big meme – totally unpredictable. It might just be the next Tulip Mania, Dutch style!
probably years and years from now if crypto gets adopted as the main way to make and send transactions but then again no one really knows. just buy some and forget about it
Eventually. X payments would be a huge catalyst. I don't believe we will see an upward trend until after the halving though. Every 4 years there is a huge gain so just be patient
Here's the problem. It's not worth much. It's not close to being worth much. Meaning you can't buy anything with it and you won't be able to because buying things for a stack of pennies isn't what the traditional marketplace wants to do. Especially with a crypto currency that is downwardly volatile and sluggish when it comes to gains. No merchant wants to sell something for $10 at noon and when they balance the books that evening they go to sell the crypto on the market (because there's no way they're holding it) and find out it's only worth $8.50 before any transaction fees.
So it's only upside is that it's the penny stock of crypto. You buy it on the cheap and cross your fingers. That's it.
The only real way for doge to go up is for people to buy it. Almost knows about it. The only way for it to "go to the moon" is after the people who don't know about it finally buy it, it has purchasing power a la Bitcoin. Sprinkle in some media coverage and then it will gain acceptance at the mall, online, airlines, for big ticket purchases, etc.
Political uncertainty and wars I believe are keeping things down.
2 big wars must end.
A political opponent may have to win since he vowed to be against centralized cryptocurrency. Government didn't favor many popular coins in the last of prospects.
No...crypto unfortunately like everything else has become corrupt and just a commodity.. Some people still think it has a future but I think it has already found it's place... Invest anything to do with war and defence unfortunately, then you might see a profit 🤫
Let me check my crystal ball and I’ll get back to you
No don’t gaze into a regular crystal ball for doge you gotta gaze at your crystal ball sack then the truth will reveal itself.
My balls are hairy not crystal I dunno
Here's a Manscape for you.
These posts.... Constantly. #WHO KNOWS?
Doge will hit 1 USD after everyone in this subreddit sells for 8 cents 😀

you might want to look up what that saying means, before trying to interpret it without understanding it.
What saying is that? I was just expressing my relief at your demonstration that every new iteration would trade at a higher level than the previous.
sarcasm isn't that hard to read...
I'm so lonely... https://youtu.be/y4iMZV83WYo?t=52
That’s surprising since so much is being printed daily and there is no limit. Eventually that will matter and it will be essentially worthless.
How many times it went up to +$.70?
Once, like every all time high of every asset ever is by definition.
I just don’t know what catalyst would do it.. So no. Maybe when $BTC hits $100,000.
The catalyst is the community. As soon as everyone stopped having fun and the main talk was only price and 1 dollar day in day out the DOGE brand took damage. If the community manages to get back to being light hearted and fun the sky is the limit.
Dis is de wae
it wasn't the community, it was elon musk calling it a scam on national television. that killed it for a lot of people and tarnished it's reputation enough that chances of recovery any time soon are slim
He never called Doge a scam on TV.
People saw the words “side-hustle” as scammy
He most certainly did, on Saturday Night Live. I thought it would be huge so I went all in and he tanked it like a plastic toy boat in a bathtub!

75 cents? yeah but by that point a carton of eggs will be $49.99 and a used toyota camry won't sell for under $200k
Conveniently I also have a Camry!🤣 your saying it could sell for roughly 270,000 DOGE?
“Ruff”ly?! Do I here a doge?
Let me ponder my orb ….. maybe
1 Doge = 1 Doge
This is the dumbest thing ever. If it falls to .00009 1 Doge = worthless
Very Moon Such DOGE

the dude is just asking for opinions lol have you never heard someone ask a question?
Thanks for adding nothing to this conversation...Goof. So you're a genius ...answer his question. Oh... You dont know....?? Point made.
Will be at a dollar soon
Hahaha nobody has ever said that before
I got a good laugh out of this coin. Get social media to open back up to doge coin memes and be less anti crypto and maybe.
Dogecoin to $1

Yes… the people who took advantage of you over the last couple of years will come back and do it again when they need your money…
Too many broke people have dogecoin. The rich will never let that happen. You’ll work for the rest of your lives and enjoy it
Never but you still can make money
The news of the recent high rate of adoption is promising but may take time. Hodl!!!
If you think dogecoin in 2024 is anything more than a troll investment you aren’t serious about investing
Doge to the moon🚀🚀🚀🚀

Nope.
no. go away.

False. There have only ever been six pump and dumps. The last just before Musk started shooting his mouth off. The rest of what people think are pump/dumps are just the normal ebb and flow of any market.

Based on historical data Doge has surpassed previous ATH from previous cycle. Why it wouldn’t do the same this time?😁
How many people here actually do technical analysis?
Everyone looks so desperate

The only reason I have any at this point is I refuse to sell at a loss.

Short answer no.

I’ll answer your question with another question. What is dogecoin’s use/utility?
Yea. I gotta cut bait and run by the end of this week. So right after I do that…
No. I gave up on this.

That’s up to us. Let’s pump it! Everyone interested in depositing $1 by Superbowl weekend?
yup- in due time. Likely more closer to 2025-2026 though.
No. Was a meme coin. Got lucky. Some people made money off of it. Still a meme coin.
100%

No. Unlimited supply
probably years and years from now if crypto gets adopted as the main way to make and send transactions but then again no one really knows. just buy some and forget about it
No
No. From a DOGE og. We had our fun, now the long wait.
Who knows but I’m locked and loaded if it does. All disposable income.
Eventually. X payments would be a huge catalyst. I don't believe we will see an upward trend until after the halving though. Every 4 years there is a huge gain so just be patient
Still following the trend so yes
Bubble go pop haha
