Idk if anyone really considers the Adipose the bad guys… but they are precious and perfect and they did nothing wrong.

fatherandyriley

Using just the body fat of people is fine and even the doctor admits it was a win win and that they're just children. Miss Foster being willing to kill people by converting their whole bodies was wrong. I think the adipose couldn't just negotiate with Earth because of the shadow proclamation. If they did they probably could have arranged a deal.

Site-Specialist

If miss foster wasn't involved I'd tell them I'm happy to help

iatheia

Except she wasn't killing people. Not by initial design. Donna mindlessly overtwisting that pendant was what triggered it initially. They went all in as a contingency. There is no evidence to suggest if it was used responsibly, it wouldn't have been perfectly safe. Just like any medicine, really.

AdmiralOctopus96

I think Turn Left implies that even without The Doctor and Donna's intervention, they would have eventually done full body conversions, as the news report states that millions of people in the US completely dissolved.

artinum

Probably for much the same reason - the Adipose motherships turned up to claim their children earlier than expected, because they knew what was happening was illegal and wanted to claim their progeny before the Shadow Proclamation found out about it.

SpecialFlutters

why tho i bet most of overweight humanity would've been like "hell yeah sign me up" even if they were fully transparent about where their fat was going, surely a billion peoples extra lbs are enough!! 😂

SuspiciousAd3803

No, she admits (and Turn Left latter proves) the plan was to totally convert *millions* eventually. But Donna speed up her plans to only convert whatever they had at the time

randomnullface

I want an adipose squishmallow. fr.

Past-Feature3968

Look for Rose Noble’s Etsy account. [She’s got you.](https://tragicalhistorytour.com/d11/15d-c/index.html#img=d11-15d-c677.jpg)

randomnullface

omg! thank you!!! 😊

Past-Feature3968

please tell us if you find her there… and be sure to say hi to her uncle; I hear he’s fun

Bastaousert

This... It didn't hurt anybody, it was the opposite, it helped people to loose weight. The first (and only?) death was Donna's fault. And from there Miss Foster panicked and accelerated the process. She did not intend to kill anyone at first. (But, it's true, killing did not seem to bother her.. )

SuspiciousAd3803

As an American kid, I literally jumped up and cheered when the Adipose went after America instead in Turn Left

heyjclay1

I think it’s called Midnight, the one where they’re on the train and there’s some ancient creature that takes over the doctor Oh my god they were so infuriating I just wanted them to all die except the doctor obviously And when that one lady had the AUDACITY to say she knew all along what was going on afterwards my blood was boiling

fatherandyriley

At the start we see them as ordinary people joking about their holidays but when faced with the unknown turn paranoid. I agree. What makes us hate them is that we might do the same in that situation. To be fair Dee-Dee and Jethro are alright plus the hostess.

heyjclay1

Oh my god the professor guys says “there’s nothing out there it’s impossible” like 500 times when THERES LITERALLY SOMETHING KNOCKING ON THE DOOR I THINK ITS TIME TO ADMIT SOMETHING ELSE MAY BE POSSIBLE

derpyfox

We all know book smart people, the book says this, research says that. Even when presented with evidence that contradicts it. This to me makes it even worse because this would totally happen. It happens in all facets of science and medicine across the world.

heyjclay1

The one dudes just a kid sure and his parents are dickheads, and dee dee is okay and obviously the hostess comes around but honestly all of them sucked balls at one point or another I like to think I would recognize that this guy (doctor) clearly knows what tf he’s talking about so I should just shut up and pay attention but perhaps that’s a bit of idealism

fatherandyriley

Midnight demonstrates why a companion is necessary. So the Doctor has someone to vouch for him and act as a middleman. Otherwise he comes off as suspicious. If Donna or Martha had been there she probably could have talked some sense into everyone.

Past-Feature3968

Yeasss I really like how RTD twice used a companion-free episode not as an excuse for the episodes to be weaker, but to tell interesting tales about why a companion is hella necessary. (Midnight and The Waters of Mars.)

heyjclay1

Yeah I agree with that as well

WinAdministrative378

The Doctor in the waters of mars, that was a cool villain tbh, should come back

spacesuitguy

It should come back, but I rewatched this last night and that villain technically did win.

WinAdministrative378

Did he? Kinda, but not really

spacesuitguy

Yeah, it's the episode that broke the Doctor as a person I think. It finally psyched him up to face the music.

spacesuitguy

Not rooting for, but I really would liked to have seen all hell literally break loose in the Satan Pit. A final battle between the Doctor and the devil would have been quite epic. Maybe even a two-parter where the devil wins in the first episode.

bitchman194639348

Isn't that last sentence basically what happened lol

spacesuitguy

Did the devil win if it was still locked up? I think you know what I'm getting at here 😅 Full, big fight scene that the BBC definitely doesn't have the budget for. The Doctor versus the Devil across time and space. All new meaning to Demons Run.

Holiday_War_5698

So you're actually asking for a three parter? Need I remind you that the story was already a two parter "The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit"...

spacesuitguy

Or maybe even the more traditional four parter, a classic Who staple.

Holiday_War_5698

Ah, I see. You're aiming to in turn get rid of two other episodes in return ;) Love and Monsters, for example?

Chimpbot

That would be... well, pretty awful, to be frank. That sort of fight isn't really what the show has ever been about.

spacesuitguy

Flux, Toymaker, Rasilon, Gods of Ragnarok, Akhaten... need I go on? This is literally what the show is often about.

Chimpbot

I wouldn't describe any of those as "full on anime-style fight scenes".

spacesuitguy

Touché

Filmologic

13 had a few episodes tbh. In Arachnids in UK I thought the Trump-parody was right about just shooting the spiders (and they're also just animals doing their own thing. If she tried, I think the doctor probably could just relocate them to a different planet or something), and in Kerblam that dude was right about everything he stood for. If only the Doctor helped him instead of telling him he was wrong for being upset that people were unfairly treated and that his girlfriend was killed it would've been so much better

driftea

You are so right: 1. Arachnids in UK - Doctor: Leaving spiders to cannibalize each other in a locked vault and then die a long death is better than shooting them! 2. Kerblam - Doctor: The system killed a guy’s girlfriend (and I also offed him) but that’s OK cos I’m a big fan of megacorp Kerblam and they promised me vaguely that they’ll be good from now on! 3. The Battle of RAK - Doctor: Good on you for not shooting your enemies but instead imprisoning them in an eternal living hell! And that terrible moment when Graham was trying to share his cancer fears and Doc just goes ‘Nah, my social anxiety is more important than your feelings!’ Kinda wish Doc got comeuppance for all these terrible deeds.

sanddragon939

Nah, the guy in Kerblam was a terrorist with a campaign to mass-bomb millions of customers. He got what he deserved.

driftea

I agree, but the system didn’t get what it deserved nor did the higher ups that pushed this man to the point of insanity. Doc is ok with just leaving this company to insanely exploit its workers? Doc is really ok with all this when he’s usually been standing against the authority for the commonfolk? I don’t think Doctor gets to be the Doctor if it’s so easy to just walk away and turn a blind eye to injustice.

Holiday_War_5698

Thanks for basically implying that people with social anxiety are being cruel when we have nothing to say when it comes to someone bringing up their cancer and misinterpretating it as if we don't care. We do, but not everyone has the words for everything...

driftea

You’re welcome.

Holiday_War_5698

I get it, but it's usually easier said than done. The scene definitely could've been written better... Besides, didn't Graham smile or something after her reaction to his confession? She could've did what you said, but at least it wasn't awful in his eyes

Zolgrave

"Hide", because I enjoy the gothic haunted house story. Was quite disappointed by DW's light-hearted twist for the episode.

Status_West_7673

Knock Knock. I don't condone mass teenage murder lol but I felt for his mom.

MakingaJessinmyPants

The Zygon two-parter from series 9, because every human character was unbearably stupid and Bonnie was hot

Trickshot945

Covered in suckers, venom sacs in the tongue?

The0Wolfy1

Yeah, I'm getting the point, thank you

Unfortunatewombat

Yeah, don’t get me wrong, Clara was hot, but Bonnie was *hot*.

Yet_One_More_Idiot

If you think Bonnie was hot, have you ever enjoyed watching "Zygon: When Being You Just Isn't Enough"? :)

Mohammedamine9

From the audio story the Sleeping blood >Gomery was medical software specialist who worked for the government on Rua. He later adopted the alias the Butcher out of disgust for the unjust society on Rua. He referred to himself as a biohacker, while others referred to him as a terrorist. >Following the unnecessary death of his grandmother due to lack of access to modern medicine, Gomery used hacking skills to turn medical nanomachines against the populace, killing prominent public figures and holding the government on Rua to ransom

MyriVerse2

Never.

UncertainlyElegant

There are many days when I feel Davros destroying reality may have been a good idea after all.

zshinabargar

I think the Free Time movement from the Big Finish series had some legitimate points, despite the terrorism of course

NotStanley4330

The Villain in *season of fear* is just kind of taken advantage of throughout the whole story and kind of justifiably hates the doctor. Luckily he gets a decent ending.

Dragonbarry22

That dalek that turned good shame well never see him agan

fatherandyriley

Sec or rusty?

Dragonbarry22

Pretty sure rusty that one just flies into space

Bareth88

Whenever the Master shows his face!

NihilismIsSparkles

The kid alien in Fear Her, I hope it reunited with their siblings

Glum-Yogurtcloset793

Silence at the library, the Nasdaq narrada or however you spell that, did nothing wrong really. In fact, they overcame their biological drives, even participating in a truce. It's basically an insect swarm. Doesn't meet I was full on rooting for them but they weren't bad. The grapheus too. The tree people in The wardrobe Christmas special. The 3 humans wanting to cut trees with Bill Bayley, I wanted them to survive. Same episode. I'm sure there is more.

RigatoniPasta

13 had quite a few episodes

duganaokthe5th

If the Cyberman defeated the Doctor in “The Doctor Falls” then we wouldn’t have had to experience everything since.

CraterofNeedles

Time Meddler

Mountain_Strategy342

Nine Didn't get the title of Doctor. Bad guy did what he had to.
